Hm, I've played a really cool game on the Amiga 500 back in the day called 'Whale's Voyage'. It was an RPG / dungeon crawler about the crew of a spaceship named 'Whale', which also looked like a whale. A whale-ship that flies, in space. Best of all worlds. Also, a really nice name for a game like this, if you ask me. I remember that I immediately loved that ship and felt very attached to it right from the start and that I _really_ took it personal if someone damaged it. :D Hey, even found a video with the intro for Whale's Voyage 2, the first one had no real intro. Ah, this Amiga chiptune still gives me goosebumps. ua-cam.com/video/0m1aDlw2KOw/v-deo.html
@@magus104 hmmm...going to give this one..well I was thinking the crocodile simply for the range of its bite but if it can't do a death roll the shark would likely win.

This is like Sid Meier's Pirates mixed with treasure planet and I'm all for it! Downloaded the demo immediately, looks very promising! Can't wait for release. (:
it would be cool if enemies tried to bail with the loot and were trying to hang on (with maybe some falling?). It makes sense, especially if the ship was going down anyway. then you could take them as hostages or crew.
I swear, your narration of your gameplay is the best thing. I feel like it simultaneously raises and lowers my Intelligence Quotient. That's a good thing, by the way. XD
Hey Spatt.. I always find it funny how so many Anglos don’t understand what Teutonic means and is and just put it in completely to our world unrelated games. If by any chance someone here in this English speaking community doesn’t know what this latinized Frankish word means 😂: Teutonic is derived from the Germanic word for „our people“ (my tribe, etc.), in this instance theothisk from the Franken. Deutschland 🇩🇪 (in Anglo: Germany), the Anglo word for Nederlands (Dutch or rather Dütsch), a Polish brand of beer Tyskie, and Swedish Tyskland (aka. Deutschland), are related to/derived from it. In the central Germanic languages (High and low German; or Deutsch and Nederdütsch (from low German and Anglo-Norse English is derived), the first „th“ got degraded into the closely related „d“, but the Latin spelling hardened it into a „t“. Making it Teutonic in Latin and Deutsch/Dutch in the central Germanic writing form. It is most famously used by the German Order of Knights the Teutonic Order, declaring them German. So every time someone uses the word Teutonic in a Game they are basically saying, ay they be Germans 🇩🇪 😂. TLDR: Teutonic means German🇩🇪, the-funny-mustache-men™️ are invading many videogame.
"the-terrifying-mustache-men™ are invading many videogame." Fixed that for you. ;) (I've seen photos and read accounts of Kaiser Wilhelm II's epicly hard-core 'stache!)
This looks really cool. But I think that it could be better if you could control the ships altitude. It could be a good way provide obstacles and limit the players mobility while in combat so that you aren't constantly flying in circles. It could also be a way to naturally limit where the player could go by having mountains that are too tall to fly over so they must travel through a ravine instead. Weight could be a good way to affect altitude as well, the heavier a ship is the lower its max altitude is and the slower it would be able to change altitude as well which would drastically affect how it can navigate around the world or fight other ships.
One thing I do wish is that I like airships that fit a slightly more dieselpunk scenario where metal is the predominant construction material rather than the tall/wooden ship designs.
The only thing I would change is boarding others ships and the combat when boarding should be like a Souls game…you’d get RTS, ships fighting, and killer hand to hand.
Downloaded the Demo on the last upload of the game and going to give it a shot later tonight. Looks kind of fun but I guess I'll know soon enough. Thanks Splat for covering it...
I have to wonder where they got the idea for how these ships fly. Because I just watched the trailer on Steam, & from the looks of it they appropriated the method used by War on Geminar.
The art for this looks great! But I feel like the numbers are needlessly large if that makes sense? Doing damage in the 100s with HP bars of thousands. It just feels like numbers for numbers' sake.
if one also could own towns and fortify them , and gear up and give 'general' directives and behaviour orders for other ships if having the resources to arm and staff more then your personal one... this could be the one air world game i been looking for the last decades..
