Hey EXO, it's a good idea to put the nut on the bolt before cutting it. Then after cutting, unscrewing it will fix the thread and you don't have to use a tap.

It is if you have enough thread to fit the nut to and still be able to cut it where you measured.
Didn't look like it in this case.
@@ro63rto jam nut would be small enough
Just taper the cut end slightly with bench grinder or angle grinder will line up threads. Use to do the thread on bolt trick but it's way faster to just hit it with a grinder.

Love what you do Exo iv been watching your channel for years now, it make me smile seeing what you both been through from then till now well done, I can't wait till you finish but nothing is ever done before the time.
The tops of the squares on a carriage bolt are rounded down so they can force the square shape into a closely drilled round hole (depending on the size of your bolt) and form fit them when you torque em down. Also, if you thread a nut down those bolts before you cut them and unscrew it after, it’ll chase the threads and you won’t need to clean em up with the die.
I've never seen a beefier build...just insane! Can't wait for it to be finished. Awesome work

Yep to do it right it does. This is obviously the extreme end of the spectrum and way more than the average person will ever have to do or worry about.

HEY HEY! I just wanted to toss this out there to you! I used to be a huge car audio freak from a young age, but life got around and I was out of it for quite some time. I started watching your vids and it was massively inspirational! So because of what you've been doing Ive gotten back into it hard. Currently building a wall set up in my jetta wagon and I always check the latest vids for some more motivation! Keep up what your doing cant wait to see the finalized van!

Love the videos. This is the most solid, detail oriented build I have ever seen!! Nice job so far
Been there with drilling straight holes. Got me a drill bit guide. Helped a lot. I also started using a band saw to cut bolts. It doesn't booger up the threads like the abrasive saw. Keeps you from having to go back and cut the threads after cutting the bolts. Great content as always Exo. Thanks for sharing.
