UA-cam restarted somehow while I was completing a message.
Basically:
I sincerely appreciate the blessing of viewing each of you reacting and sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for each of you being courageous for sharing who each of you are via reactions and thoughts.
Keep up the cool reactions to films and shows💜🕊
the line "i was right here the whole time and none of you could see me, none of you could see me" really hits when youve dealt with depression or other invisible disabilities/health problems, feels like you scream your head off into the void and after awhile it does just get exhausting
Everytime I hear her say those lines I tear up

So true.
💯 % agree ❤️🩹😞
Felt this way so many times
The fact that they did long shots with so many child actors is insane.
Not only that- the child actors never made a mistake, and never caused a scene reset. The class of child actor is amazing.
@@joshuacoldwater i swear mike flannigan has a gift for finding the like cutest and most talented child actors to traumatize in his shows lol
The child actors in this show in general are incredible, it's very rare that you see a child actor and don't immediately notice some cringy acting, but there was none of that in this show.
Yes! So impressive ❤
"nobody could see me" hurts so much 😭
Yes
Episode 6 is basically a one act play. Mike Flanagan says it took SO much out of him as a director but it's masterful.
This episode alone should've secured an Emmy nom for this show, it's criminal how it was overlooked.
Mike Flanagan is also the guy Stephen King trusted to adapt Doctor Sleep for the screen, and if you haven’t seen it, definitely worth watching.
I was gonna say. The Pack needs to see Doctor Sleep!
Mike Flanagan _is_ a creative genius. He is also a former addict, and I love how he brought nuance and compassion to both Luke's character and how the others interact with him. Can't wait to see the rest!
This episode destroyed me. "None of you could see me. Nobody could see me" just ripped my heart out. It's such a powerful allegory for mental illness. So many mentally ill people feel like nobody in the world understands them or really "sees" them. It's heartbreaking.
Flawless episode. These actors put in SO MUCH work to get those long one shots perfect and they succeeded. This is the episode that made Hugh my favorite character. The rest of the episodes just back that up even more for me. I cannot wait for episode 8.
- so, the little boy in the wheelchair, was mentioned by olivia in episode 4 if you remember when she’s talking to hugh about their house vision-she says something on the lines of “a bookshelf so even the little boy in the wheelchair can reach it” the lady in the bed was mentioned by mrs. dudley last episode, i believe, but her name is hazel.
- when hugh arrives and he sees the kids as their younger selves, it’s because it’s how he still see them.
- when theo falls, it wasn’t scripted. katie actually fell in that moment but they couldn’t cut so they kept it going.
- nell did push her casket down and she put the buttons on her eyes as well. she wanted her family to focus on coming together for her in this last moment but they kept arguing so she was trying to do everything she could to get them focused on this situation again.
- “nobody could see me” is reflective on nell’s feelings and how she felt for her entire life. it’s a great message about her depression which the show touches on really well.
14:38 "She got that from mom you know?" "alcoholism?" and then Theo shows her middle finger. Never noticed that haha
❤Can we talk about how SEAMLESSLY Timothy Hutton & Henry Thomas mimic each other perfectly down to similar voices and body language as the younger & older versions of the father, Hugh. (Both are prolific actors btw).
They had to have people come in and literally pick the kids up and (quietly) run them out of the scene to swap with their adult counterparts because the kids couldn't move out of the shot fast enough for that spinning shot. 😁
So cool that you noticed that when the coffin falls it is to stop the fight. This episode should technically be the best of the series and one of the best we've seen in any TV show. Great reaction guys. Blake keep hanging in there like a champ, you won't regret it.
Maybe he will...A lot of people have changed their opinion of this show by this point, yet he consistently says he hates it.
Corey is absolutely right when he said Mike Flanagan is a creative genius. He's probably my favorite director. I really hope you all react to more of his TV shows especially Midnight Mass
The perception look ahead and know in advance that you HAVE to build your sets of Hill House and The Funeral home Back to Back so in one moment in the middle of Episode 6 the dad can easily walk back into Hill House is an ability that EVERYONE wishes they had. The fact that he decided to take the time to use REAL rain machines, real water, and to preset the mood lighting was all genius. The filming of this episode was completed quicker than any other episode in the ENTIRE SERIES, it only took them 10 days to film. The setup (with no cast on stage) took just over 9 weeks. 9 weeks of planning, blocking, camera testing, rigging, mood lighting, and running through entire scenes WITHOUT the cast- so when they stepped on set, everything was ready.
The acting in this one is S-tier. There should have been Emmy's raining from the heavens for this one.
Luke's story about 'indivisible' always makes me tear up
"Mike Flanagan is a creative genius"
I'm hoping you'll continue the flanaverse reactions! I feel like you'll enjoy Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher specifically
Yess please fall of the house of usher first!
Loving these "The Haunting of Hill House" reactions, Blake, Cojo, Corey, and Igli.
Please keep the Mike Flanagan Universe reactions going once you are done with this series.
These reactions are pure gold.

“the outside house is free” - poor Kevin. you guys are so funny!
I have VERY few friends in the industry, one of them is my dear friend Katie. She has spoken many times about filming this and how something clicked in everyone’s brain when they were on set those 10 days. It’s funny though because none of the adult actors truly understood their characters until they got into that family fight. She, for the first time, became Theo and was defending her actions and character. That argument between Steve and his Dad, then Shirl and Steve, then Theo and Shirl, then everyone- they sat at a table read and Mike told them things that needed to be said, emotions that needed to be expressed, and then set limits on how far they could go and where it needed to end. They met up on their own during the 9 weeks, all of them, and they fought. They came up with different versions and ideas. They then made some decisions with Mike, and funny enough a lot of it came to them as they were acting. The first time the camera came around 10 minutes into the shot and Kevin said “Who’s the Bent Neck Lady?”, not only did some of the cast break, but Mike himself broke out laughing. They worked that into the script.
My message to Blake, Again- I know you hate this show. I hated this show and one of my very good friends is in it. I will not call you a baby or a bitch for being afraid or covering your eyes though, because at the end of the finale I was crying my eyes out. Bro. Do you know the last show that made me cry? There wasn’t one. Movie? Marley and Me- But that’s a cheap shot at my heart. I’m just saying this man, yes there are some jump scares left- one that almost made me stop watching. I know you can’t, but give this show a fair shot.
Think back… when Luke and Nell were small and they put three buttons in the speakeasy, but only two came through? Theo comes in and the twins ask her what it is. She said, umm, it’s like a telephone for inside the house. Theo, just out of nowhere, touched the pillow on the bed and she said, “This was a sick bed,” and let the thought pass.
The night of this storm you saw an old lady sitting on the bed, right before you see the little boy in the wheelchair.
That’s what Theo had picked up on as a little girl. She felt that old lady dying in that bed.
Why are you having to protect Igli? (Did you really think we would let that pass? 😊)
Oh, and Stephanie said that after this series y’all have to watch “Fall of the House of Usher!” Thanks, Steph!!!💕😁💕
This episode is so good how it’s like watching the second act of a tragedy. The camera movement with everyone taking turns on “stage” so good
And notice almost no sound just their voices and the storm
I really loved Blake's face reacting to the making off. He seemed interested for the very first time, lol
That last scene always makes me cry, little Nell saying no one could see her is heartbreaking
"an episode of TV.... but it's film level shit!" YES! It's film level making, done in play style, as a TV episode. This is what I mean a few comments ago when I said this episode made me appreciate TV making. Especially of this quality. Like, I feel like he set a whole new level of TV making that I really, really hope others get to as well because this is just top tier and we need more top tier.
What's sad about this episode is how nellie's family still doesn't pay attention to her even when she's dead 😔
Damn Blake, you're so smart 😂 you called it, I bet you'll figure out the whole show 😂 love this episode so much
shoutout corey for reading all the comments and getting this info lol he’s doing work for the raggedy pack
Awesome reaction. I have twins ( a boy & girl ) and the "it's a twin" thing is definitely true. They are 4 and can understand each other without more than three words. They can truly feel the other pain.
this episode makes me cry so fucking much, it’s a masterpiece, one of the best episodes in TV history
Not "She Pac-Man'd his ass" 😂 Also, Hugh had to wake up Steve when it was "The Night" so I loved watching you guys stress out that it was going to go so so wrong the whole time 😂
This episode was soo heartbreaking for Nell I just want to hug her, she’s been through it and i also wanted to smack Steve in this episode at the same time
The end of this episode always makes me cry. It's so tragic.
At a horror fest convention I met Theo and the house keeper and the father who played as the younger version of him. Theo was such a sweetheart and had a lovely moment with her talking about the movie Hush which was her favorite movie she played in. She did all the stunts, took four months to get those correct shots of the crossbow aiming at her on the roof, she had to wear protective wear til they felt comfortable enough to go with the ride. Very impressive. She even learned sign language two years prior before this movie came about or that they have asked her to play the main female character. Awesome. Love her so much, I hope she attennds another convention near me.
The house keeper was so kind and an amazing person, loved speaking with both of them together.
The father lol he was shy lol and before I went to the convention I didn't realize he was Eliot from ET lol we had asked him if any whose seen him call him Eliot he said nah not really lmao just a normal guy living a normal life. Nothing wrong about that hehe I enjoy meeting the actors and actresses and trying my best to afford getting an autograph photo lol they're expensive. A handshake is enough for me
the actress who plays Theo, Kate Siegel (the wife from the creator) actually fall on her scene and after this episode she relases that she was pregnant and her and Mike Flannagan named the child Theodora in her mother’s character honor 🫶🏻
For me personally this show has a knack for simultaneously causing emotion to both bottle up tremendously and erupt explosively in under a fraction of a second. I held it together through out all of the intense emotions this episode… but as soon as I heard Nelly at the end an unanticipated sob strangled my throat and tears burned my eyes. Poor Nell.
the best episode in the show cinematography wise. god this show is brilliant
Yessss!
The amount of planning/rehearsal that went into this episode paid off in spades, it was fantastic.
You should definitely check out some of the behind the scenes footage.
30:18 We watched the making of episode 6
@@RaggedyPackthis is what I get for not looking at the description 🤦🏻♂️😅
The show excelled in the perfect casting of all the actors, from the children to their adult counterparts. However, what stood out even more was casting two established actors to portray the dad: Henry Thomas as the young Hugh and Timothy Hutton as the older version. They flawlessly embodied the same character with identical nuances, almost as if they were the same actor. Kudos to the casting director for this brilliant choice.
sooo if Blake is Shaggy because he is scared and does not want to split up in the haunted house and Corey is Velma because he collects and analyzes all the hidden clues... who is Daphne and who is Freddy and most importantly, will those be your costumes for next Halloween?
one episode per-week isn't enough!! WE NEED TO SEE MORE OF YOU GUUUYS!!!!!!!!!!
Just finished it urgh the ending always gets me and I also want to say that when steve says the wrong parent died it just breaks my heart and pisses me off so much😢😢😢
I have always thought Steve flubbed a line a little, but I’ve never heard anyone else catch it. Still, this episode a masterpiece. The whole series is.
Yesss!! I kept refreshing YT just for this 😭
Probably my favorite episode. One long 12min camera shot was impressive! There's a cool video on UA-cam here that is a BTS look at the making of this episode. Brilliant acting, transitions, camera work and writing!
Not being seen by others while being right there is another one of the situations the script pulls from the source material, "The Haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson.
Lol rewatching this I’m realizing how funny Kevin is in this episode like I can’t imagine being the only spouse in the middle of this 😂
21:01 blake looking like that fallen angel painting by alexander cabanel 😂
Omg it is true
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the part where Theo goes to sit on the couch and falls onto the floor was an accident and everyone improved the rest, including her reacting and flinching away from their touch when they come to help.
Yeah, that's gotten around but it isn't at all true -- Flanagan's been clear about that on his Tumblr, and even reprinted the script page showing the fall as written (which was actually more complicated on the page, involving knocking over a table and spilling a glass, but given the camera complications they simplified it significantly). However, Kate Siegel spent a LOT of time practicing the fall to make it seem spontaneous, making Flanagan very very nervous, as he and Siegel had found out the day before that she was pregnant with their first child, Theo.
@@collisionwork Okay thanks!
Henry Thomas who plays the young version of the Dad, stars in E.T. Him and Drew Barrymore were babies in it. Such a good movie.
Wow, I just realized that young Hugh is Elliot from ET. Holy cow.
My second favorite episode. I love that we got more of the dad here and I understood both Hughe and Stevens' points of view, but that doesn't excuse Stevens' behavior or what he said to his dad
That feeling of dread and simply not knowing got me in this ep too Blake! I went between awe of how cool what they were doing in the shots were and being on the edge of my seat waiting for something terrible to happen. They do a great job of creating anticipation.
I'm not really a horror person, but if a story is compelling enough I'll watch it. My mom loves horror movies and she pushed me hard to watch this show so we could discuss it. I went to her house to see the first episode and ended up binging the entire show in one night alone after my mom went to bed.
I knew Blake is not gonna enjoy the scene when lights go out in the flashback haha!! You guys are great. Wish I had friends like you guys when I was your age!
Blake staring into the camera at the very start thinking "look at what hell you're making me go through"
The behind the scenes on this episode are amazing.
glad you watched the making of! this is one of my fave episodes of ANY show, it’s so good! i think in regards to you guys not liking shirley and steve it can be difficult to see positive in them at this point. they’re both hard headed and have little patience and think they’re right, but it’s also important to look at the context of what we’ve seen so far, they both had to take charge in a family where both the parents basically didn’t exist anymore and they had to take charge of the responsibility and the financial burden of luke and his rehab. i think they’re both such great characters that sometimes get overlooked but when you dig deep they’re flawed adults doing their best in the situation they were put in and with the trauma they’ve carried for years
Best episode ever made by Mike Flanagan.
A technically brilliant episode! The long shots are great, and that final line...😢 gets me every time. This is powerful enough but as a parent the effect is dramatically increased. Great work 👏
Our little Blake getting stronger everyday!!! So so proud of you little guy
Igli just might shed a few tears by the end of the show. This is the 2nd ep. that’s got him in a chokehold. 😢
Blake: I hate this show
Corey: did that one get you?
Blake: *can't say anything, bc that didn't scare him*
Like he can't even pretend that the show is scary anymore 😂 he just has to keep the pretense that he hates the show bc it is scary. But he can't even point to what scares him in the show lol.
I'm glad my boy Blake is just in the moment and happy to be present. Man has my heart
Every episode has hidden ghosts for you to see (if you do see them in time). Watched the season again and tried to get them all lol
Midnight Mass has to be the next reaction. Also created by Mike Flanagan. It’s the same style of show. A scary drama. And is a great criticism of fanatic behavior. Specifically religious fanaticism.
They stopped production for 6 months just to rehearse this episode. That's mind-boggling.
This episode has some of the most beautiful depictions of depression. Just masterfully done.
You will be in awe when it is finally revealed what happened back in 1992. This is an incredibly beautiful and heartbreaking story.
Hey RaggedyPack , to know about the kid in the wheel chair and the tall guy in the hat , Hint: You should listen to the crazy lady very closely in the mom episode.
If you liked how this if filmed, you should watch "Victoria",. It's shot in a single continuous take (140min.). it's a really good, gripping movie! Also, I know people keep suggested the Flanagan shows, so I'd like to suggest "Gerald's Game". Also filmed by Flanagan and based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. It has some of the Hill House actors in it, too.
Really enjoying your reactions! 💜
Dude, I can't wait til you guys get to Episode 9. Top tier episode hands down
That ending really hits you. Can't wait for the next episode! 😊
There are some great videos on here that show and point out where all the ghosts/people/whatever are. You should check some of them out when this series is over. Your mind will be blown with how many you actually missed.
She got that from your mother..
What? Alcoholism
😂😂😂
Fun fact: Mike Flanagans wife is Theo in real life! ❤😮
Hey guys so I wanted to throw out a suggestion I've been trying to get multiple reactors to take a look at just bc it's such a creative piece of work in my opinion, Netflix Love Death And Robots if you haven't seen it. Loving these reactions to Hill House as well, one of my fave horror series on Netflix. The whole vibe is just brilliant the way the transitions are so smooth. Keep up the awesome work you guys.
Nice to see ya guys reacting to this masterpiece...episode 7 is showing and clarifying few more things. @Blake, good luck and be brave!
Awesome reaction of my favorite episode of The Haunting Of Hill House!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Why is Blake such a scaredy cat? 😂🤣
I can’t believe your channel is growing more and more every day!! So proud of you guys!!
❤️
The dudley's also have an amazing story
That special feature was pretty cool! This is definitely one of my favorite episodes, and I loved this reaction
i’m not rly a horror fan in general but this series was just so complex and interesting that i was immediately hooked, like you guys.
also i liked your percy jackson reactions! i enjoyed the bts documentary they made on the show, you guys should react to it! the filming process looked rly interesting :)
I look forward to this each week so much.
Same!
You guys should watch the movie 1917.. it's shot the same way
So excited each time you upload a new episode reaction to this series!!
What a great reaction!! I think all of us who have seen this show before were looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint🙌🏻.
Also thank you for reacting to how they made episode 6! That was so cool and I’ve never seen that before now. It’s things like this that are part of why you guys are my favorite reaction channel 😊❤
Ps - shout out to Stephanie for suggesting the making of the episode 🤘🏻🎉
BLAKE, I SWEAR TO GOD - TAKE A DAMN XANAX OR SOMETHING 😂😂😂
When you’ll finish watching Hill House, I hope you watch the other Mike Flanagan shows, they are wonderful too❣️🥰
These reactions have been amazing! I highly recommend Mike Flanagan’s masterpiece, Midnight Mass.
4 episodes to go! Blake you can do this. 😂
Oh poor sweet Nellie, flood gates always open. 😢
This is such an amazing episode, beautifully shot and directed! Hope yall enjoy it ☺️
I'm so ready for a new Haunting of Hill House reaction tomorrow 👻 See you guys tomorrow 😁❤️
See you soon ❤️
First thing said when it ends "That was Depressing" 🤣
Poor Blake. Hopefully y'all watch something that lowers his blood pressure next
