When he said it I was like oh well just give it a minute lol. Honestly the whole Emily thing was Ross substituting Rachel with Emily. To be quite honest I think for Ross Rachel was always the one he really wanted and envisioned marrying since he was a teenager. His first wife I also think was in a way a Rachel place holder. Ross is never truly happy because it always seems like he is trying to find what he feels for Rachel in other women. Very sad really.
@cayu1888EXO I think Emily *started* as a place holder maybe, because he met her the same night Rachel wanted to go to Joshua's club opening and obviously was uncomfortable with her liking him. But I think he really did fall in love with her for her. Quickly, but still. He even said to Rachel something along the lines of, "To be honest, I wasn't really in that place (to be happy for each other finding happiness with someone else). But now I am."

I have been counting down the weeks, bro! And it was worth the wait! One of the greatest sitcom season finale cliffhangers OF all time, and given your building excitement and investment in the series (and the fact that you already predicted back in Season 3 that Monica / Chandler may happen eventually, it was just a matter of when), and all your talk about something "big" coming at Ross and Emily's wedding, this reaction is one of the highlights of the month for me, Oscar! :)
EDIT: And yes, for your curiosity, the cast / writers / crew really did travel to London and film on location. Only the hotel scenes and the scenes in the Main Apartment with Rachel & Phoebe were filmed back in LA. Very neat.

And just to add: Lisa Kudrow couldn't go to London because she was pregnant. I've always wondered how Lisa felt about that!
Oh and also! : The creators were meant to write Chandler and Monica as not serious (or something like that) and when they saw the audience's reaction they weren't like " wow maybe there's something there!" And they kept with it. You gotta roll with the punches and go with the incredible feedback you get sometimes, nothing's written in stone!

Same. I was shocked too only cuz I shipped them since season 1 (when Chandler said they could marry each other if they are still single in the future) but I didn't think the show was gonna give me what I wanted lol. But yeah immediately I was like let them be happy please, they both deserve it.

@@stpaley I don't think he forgot, I mean even watching this episode when Chandler was comforting Monica, Oscar said "oh here we go COME ON... encourage her, man!" and then, when Chandler told her "who wouldn't want you?" he was cheering up... he has been shipping them for quite some time, those are not expressions of someone who forgets (although in the series they gave us hints and then distracted us with other things, one would tend to think that the magic was attenuated but here we go again and this time for real)
We had to wait SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long for the conclusion to this. This was a cliffhanger done extremely well, and your reaction to Ross saying "Rachel" was perfect.

The fact that you recognized the chemistry between Monica and Chandler long before anything happened between them and wanted them to be together as some kind of personal wish, my gosh! we all had to bite our tongues waiting for you to see this episode but the day has finally come! and I'm so happy to join you!
You also predicted that between Ross and Rachel it was the calm before the storm... But I had a lot of fun watching you fall for it, being afraid that Rachel was going to ruin the wedding, and then relax, and then be speechless HAHAHAH can't wait for your next reactions! Season 5 is my all time favorite!

I have been *dying* for you to get to the Monica and Chandler reveal since at least season 2 lol. So many times, I have wanted to say something here or there about a comment you might’ve had in episodes, but I had to contain it to keep from spoiling. I’m so glad you’re finally here! 🎉
Your face was priceless on both of the reveals, lol. This was definitely one of the most bombshell, jaw dropping season finales. Imagine watching that and then having to wait 4 agonizing months to find out what happened next. Pure torture.

Yes this is one hell of a season finale, with two of the most epic plot twists of the whole series, between "Take the Rachel" and "Do you think he knew I was here?" is hard to decide wich one is a more iconic FRIENDS moment. You are in for a great ride next season!

Fun fact: they had to do the chandler monica reveal twice bc the studio audience went so berserk. Fun fact 2. David schwimmer accidentally said Rachel during rehearsal and the writers jumped on it. End game was never Ross and Emily but they weren’t sure how they were going to do it until that.

Ah, here we go. One of the biggest season finales and probably in my top 10 episodes of Friends.
From this point on Ross becomes hilarious and David really shows his acting abilities when it comes to physical comedy.
Also can't forget Mondler. I was so happy when you noticed the signs that something might happen between them in the past seasons and now we all get to enjoy watching you react to their story and especially the next 14 episodes (if you know, you know).
I feel like the series truly starts now, everything up until this moment was setting up the scene 💞
Oscar, the very first episode of FRIENDS that I ever saw was s04e24! ☕ My friend David made me go to a bar to watch it with him (he loved the show). He did his best to explain what was happening, relationships, etc. The zinger moment during the vows *hooked* me! I started watching reruns after that and continued with the new episodes from season five onward. I've since seen every episodes from all ten seasons at least three times. 🔸 I'm very grateful I got onto the bandwagon... better late than never.

I was 24 when this came out and every Thursday night I’d get together with some friends from work and we’d watch Friends. I remember when we saw Monica’s head pop up from under the covers and we lost our minds. And then of course when Ross said “Rachel” we were completely stunned.

Fun story; I was at university when the first Ross/Rachel kiss happened & my Mum (who also watched the show) used to record the epsiodes on VHS tapes and then when one was full she'd post it down to me at uni because Friends was only on Sky back then and the university halls didn't have it. When a tape arrived we'd have big Friends watching parties in my room, everyone crammed on floor, on my bed and the chair. You had to REALLY like your hallmates, that set up got a little cosy with everyone in the room! And I remember getting the tape with THAT Ross/Rachel episode (this was also before the Internet was a huge thing so no-one had ANY idea this had happened) and I remember everyone cheering & whooping when they finally kissed!
You have no idea how hard that 3 or 4 month wait between seasons was. It felt like everyone on the planet was talking about this finale. There were segments on the news about it! Here, in South Africa! It was insane.
