    Always rev match. Never hold clutch down. It takes a lot of getting used to and practice, but it’s what you gotta do. Nice video tho, incredible drive.

    please rev match when you downshift. at 8:15 the car was placed in 2nd gear at 62 MPH, which is higher than 2nd can even go.

      U right I should rev match more, only really started driving stick this year so still getting used to boolin and shifting. That time I put it into second but I didn’t let go of clutch, I let go when my speed is a lil down

    • @IceNFire09
      @IceNFire09 5 місяців тому +3

      @@probool Yeah, don't do that lol. Don't shift into any gear that can't handle the speed you're going. All it would take it a slip of the foot to have a very bad day. Also, I know there's opinions in both camps, but I recommend not holding your clutch in through a turn. Power adjustment is important, and there's none going to the wheels if the clutch is disengaged.

      to be fair he didnt fully shift into the gear, he held the clutch in until he was into the 20's for speed which is fine, wont hurt the car

    very nice, dont listen to the haters that are just jealous that they're not even there lol, i used to rev my stock wrx and i didnt care lol, i'll be there in october between the 10-13th, they have a GT-R annual event and it will be my first time taking my R35, i might get some swaybars and a few goodies before i go there, even tho the car already handles pretty good with stock suspension.

    Fun drive. Next time accelerate sooner coming out of the corner and make sure to turn off traction. That way you make use of the WRX drivetrain

    I finally took my 2024 VB WRX up to the TOTD about a month ago. I was pretty impressed by how it handled with stock suspension. Especially compared to my 2015 WRX which did have coilover setup + front/rear sway bars and LCA's. Getting some suspension upgrades coming soon for the VB then going to take it back up to see how it's changed..
    I'm a little under an hour drive to Tail of the Dragon, and it's nice to be able to hop in the car and spend the day there. TOTD is a awesome place to make some nice spirited drives. As long as you can be there when it's not busy. See too many things go wrong on the busy days.. driver pushing too hard and driving outside their limits and such.

      Damn that’s good to hear, I’ve heard the vb is good at handling stock in videos but I’ve never driven the va. That’s tru about the tail. Friday was less crowded and we got some good runs in but on Saturday there was a lot of traffic.

    Nice! You kept up pretty well! Do you have stock brakes? How did they do? I think if you would have got stronger brakes, you would have had more confidence to go faster into the corners.

    • @probool
      @probool  4 місяці тому

      Thanks! Yeah I do right now, they usually aren’t too bad but when you’re driving hard you can feel that the brakes are a bit of a weak point. Nothing else really to complain about tho! The car handles very well. I definitely agree with your last sentence.

      I have a 2015 VA WRX and now a 2024 VB WRX.. The new FA24 DIT in the VB WRX is a pretty nice motor. It's been beefed up in the right areas compared to the previous FA20 DIT in the VA chassis. My VA had coilovers and front/rear sway bars, but handled every bit as good as the new '24 VB WRX in stock form. I've been pretty impressed with the VB!

    Not hating but please learn to rev match. You down shift to second and coast thru the corner. Is this your first manual? That loose bottle is dangerous.

    • @probool
      @probool  4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah I’m working on it, I started driving manual this year.

    • @douglasmorrow8004
      @douglasmorrow8004 4 місяці тому +2

      @@probool gotcha. Again only love. You shift to second while not turning. You then enter the corner while not on the throttle. You can practice every time you drive. Red lights, stop signs, etc. you just want the revs to be match road speed and rpm. You always want to be under power at the apex. Slow Im, fast out. Especially with true AWD. Throttle will save your ass and pull you thru the exit of the corner. I was a Subaru tech for 5 years. Their clutches are pretty fragile if not used properly. Practice, practice, practice. Don't even worry about heel, toe, just get smooth matching revs.
