Die Antwoord is Afrikaans for The Answer. You should do Fatty Boom Boom by them
Its funny, because "die" is one of the german words for "the" and "Andwoord" is the dutch word for "Answer"
Around the 1800's the Netherlands colonized South Africa and Dutch influences are still present. 'Die Antwoord' for instance are Dutch words.

I remember hearing about them back in the day because of their controversial content, videos and style, back in the days when the internet loved a good freak show. I used to kinda hate them but weirdly enough their co-starring role in the movie "Chappie" actually made me like them both a little bit and their music also got better.
Chappie is how I discovered them. Leo marriacholli has made some excellent metal cover versions of Fatty Boom boom , I fink your freaky and babys on fire
I got the chance to attend one of their lives and boy they are amazing on stage, so much energy.
You guys have got to revisit this group! The reactions are priceless for their videos. I personally, stan them.
Fun fact:Die antwoord was in the movie chappie! And I believe it's pronounced "dee antvord" just so they don't start ant beef with you guys 🤣🤣🤣 keep up the fun content you sexy beasts........

Love it,way different and dig the mix. Radical and wild. Yes bring more of their stuff they got a collection of jams should be heard and seen. Killer energy.For some years now american artists have been in with Africans in the music scene. Mix of traditions sounds and style. Music brings it all and creates unique blends and variations. Expressions of backgrounds telling stories that unify people. All that has to be done is listen and enjoy. New stuff old stuff. Music and its artist can pull our emotions from our hearts and express life and everything in it from the time we are in the womb, journeys through life.,when we die and in
memories after. I dig new expressions and form. We were all young once and we were listening dancing and playing music. Lifes become crazy and our new artist gonna sing and shout.

They call it Rap-Rave and Zef, which is South African low cost life-style. Their beef was just about how he pronounced their name! They are a shock at first but you can quickly get hooked to the madness and style.

Unimportant but interesting footnote: "My pen is in my hand" means and is spelled exactly the same in Afrikaans and English, word for word, but is obviously pronounced differently 😁😁😁

Their style is called "rap-rave" but they also do classic hip hop stuff.

You should check out the old school Little Big, they toured with Die Antwoord in Europe, they're often called the Russian Die Antwoord. They're latest stuff is pretty tame and popular but their punk/rave origins in Every Day I'm Drinking or Antipositive are awesome and hard.

My favorite South African rapper is Jack Parow. Jack and his ridiculous hats. Afrikaans is Dood and Bloubek are good songs.
I like Die Antwoord in their laat group before they became Die Antwoord, they went by Max Normal TV. Rap Made Easy and Laf Nag are my favorite songs there, but especially Laf Nag. I don't really know if they have MVs during that era, but still worth a listen.

I like these guys because they're so original and they don't give a shit what anyone thinks. You gotta respect that on some level. Fatty Boom Boom, I Fink your Freaky, and Cookie Thumper, and Ugly Boy are good in a good insane kind of way. Lol. Ninja, the singer, also directs their videos.
