If y'all really want to hear Björk belt out some incredible vocals, I HIGHLY suggest one of my other favorites "All is Full of Love". Anyway, I loved watching Smokey's face while he's trying to understand the video lmao
Not Pulse thank you so much for all your love and support. We love Bjork and we have to thank you for introducing us to a new one we never heard by her. This was a good one. Much love brother
Contemporary with Björk there was another child of the punk from another Nordic country, Sweden, named Mare Kandre. Also with a very personal style. She made two albums with the group Global Infantilists. She later turned into a quite famous novelist and died young. Their music never reached America and are largely forgotten in Sweden. Do you dare to check a song with 1000 views? "Passing" is one of my favourites.
Human Behavior has wild Björk vocals too...
“I Play Dead” is a must listen from Björk
You did not see the very end it stranger
When I was in preschool my family lived in the apartment under Björk. Dad is really good friends with her ex. I remember hanging out and playing PC games with her son. She's a sweetheart. Weird, but a sweetheart nonetheless. Shout out to Reykjavík... miss my hometown
Reykjavík rokkar. She's here waiting for you, currently wet, windy and miserable.
Omg you are the luckiest person ever!!
Lucky
She's from Iceland. She was in a band called the Sugarcubes before going solo. They cut the end off this video. After the explosion, she goes back inside the ruined museum, and that dude she put the bomb next to is waking up (still laying there, despite the bomb), like he was just taking a nap. They hug, and she cries tears of happiness, but her tears are little diamonds. Her sound is always electronic, but she's constantly trying new things. Sometimes it's kind of industrial like this, sometimes it gets real trippy. She's always doing new stuff.
Yes! I was looking for this comment.
Bjork is an ARTIST! she is weird, unique and AWESOME!
Bjork has such a great and diverse catalogue. Definitely worth diving down the rabbit hole!
She wrote this song for her Brother. He was dealing with Depression and other mental health issues. However, in Icelandic (Scandinavian) culture they tend to not dwell in self pity/doubt and so she Made this to Wake Him Up (metaphorically).
WOW. Thank you, Danny! That's something to really think about.
Yeah, up here people believe in the (now scientifically proven) home remedy of going for a walk. I mean, we still pop the most anti-depressants on Earth but they seem to be working, we also rank at the top along with the other pill-popping Nordics. Prosperity and peace might also have something to say in that.
I read that she wrote the song for her kid that didn’t want to go to bed…
First time I heard of Bjork was a song called 'Human Behavior' when it was on MTV back in 93 or 94. Always loved her voice. Maybe folks will request more songs for you guys I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
mine was hidden place on mtv. I got goosebumps and the music video gave me really weird kinda scary vibe but I just couldn’t get it off my mind since then. I didn’t know who she was, or the name of the song. A year later or so, i decided to some research to look for that mv. I listened to her other songs. I was so glad that I found her. She’s not for everyone but she’s so amazing.
Björk is the GOAT female artist! Her voice and creativity run circles around all others. IMHO
💯
Great morning gents! Here's a fun story for you... I lived in Iceland from 86-88 when my dad was stationed there in the Navy, I was 14-16yo at the time. Bjork was just getting started with her first band, the Sugarcubes. The entire island only had 100,000 people on it, so there aren't a lot of places for a band to play. Needless to say, they played the USO club on base at least once a month. Since we were the only people even remotely close to her age going to see her play, we ended up hanging out quite a bit. She'd even buy pitchers of beer and bring them to our table and we'd all get drunk, then watch her play lolol :)
You lucky bastard!
Björk had a band in the late 80s/early 90s called The Sugarcubes, they were pretty rad. I suggest you check out some of their songs as well. 'Birthday' or 'Deus' would be great, thanks.
That is a band name I have not heard in YEARS! 😳😳😳😳👍👍👍👍👍 Yeah, definitely pretty cool.
She did an album that was entirely a’capella. Like all beat boxing and other unique vocal deliveries. “Who Is It” is a fantastic track from that record. Check it out if you get a chance 🙌🏻
This song was from the “Tank Girl” movie. Talk about weird…it was in a post-apocalyptic world and Ice-T was this kangaroo man in it.
The video for “Human Behavior” is really weird too. It does not sound industrial.
i remember it from Sucker Punch!
@@intotheabyss42478 Hell yeah, the Sucker punch video version is way better too. 👍
Great to see you guys listening to Bjork. I've been a fan of hers for many years now. She's such a unique and incredible artist. She's also amazing live. May have been worth you listening to just the song before watching the video, as that video is so crazy it can distract you from how amazing the song is. So many great songs you could check out by her including Hyper Ballad, Big Time Sensuality, Play Dead, Bachelorette, Joga, All Is Full Of Love, Pluto, Hidden Place and Pagan Poetry just to name a small handful. Also well worth checking out is the Icelandic band she was in from the 80s to early 90's called The Sugarcubes. They were massively underrated. They did some great songs too such as "Deus", "Birthday" and "Hit".
Human Behaviour, Violently Happy, Hyperballad, Hunter, Joga, Bachelorette, Enjoy - just a few suggestions for more great songs by Björk!
Absolutely second Hyper Ballad, beautifully dark and sweet at the same time. I connected so much with that song
Pagan poetry
ah Violently Happy, that's the first Bjork song I ever heard, was trying to remember
oh no, upon further research it was Big time Sensuality awesome video, woke a dulled soul
human behavior is one of my favorite songs by her
Now I am kind of proud, because I am icelandic, and I love watching you guy's react to music. I never thought you would react to Björk.
The production on this track is insane!!
That beat would not be out of place in a Nine Inch Nails track. Her hit I remember is 'Its Oh So Quiet' her catalogue is pretty diverse. You should do some Sigor Ros!
I can’t even imagine them listening to Sigur Ros lol. They are one of my favorites though.
Everytime I hear this tune, the music totally gives me NIN vibes. Great reaction fellas.
🤯 I never realized she was so much older than me! My younger brother loves her, so I figured he would've told me... "It's Oh So Quiet" is *definitely* worth the listen. I love her as an artist, but I adore her as a person. P.L.U.R.R. from ATX!!
Hunter and Joga are 2 songs of hers I would definitely check out. especially the Jools Holland live versions
Bjork literally inspired my creative abilities 1000 times than it was. She introduced realms in my brain that I never new I had. She’s one of my idols.
I am always down for some Bjork!
That hit is probably “It’s Oh So Quiet.” At least that’s the first one I remember. It’s also a cover.
Björk is such an unique artist. If you are gonna do more her, I´ll defintely be here. She is so coooool.
You should check out more of Bjork. She is one cool cat and truely unique. Her song ´Joga´ is a masterpiece.
And after that: Portishead! (Glorybox, Roads, Mysterons)
This video might be the most perfect realization of dream logic I've ever seen. It literally is like a dream.
She has such a great voice, this video is wicked
Bjork is awesome. Definitely need to check out more!
Morning! Yes I loved this song! But I was confused by the video too! Lol. Rad song though!! Thanks guys!🤓❤️
I hope someone pointed out the ending of the video was cut off: Her boy in the museum wakes up. She rescued him.
Bjork so famous she even had her own stalker, Ricardo Lopez
The remix they did of the song, for the Sucker Punch soundtrack is awesome!
More Bjork!
This video cuts off the ending, which leaves out an important part! As for the collaboration, it is the perfect fusion. Michel Gondry is a master of cinema as Bjork is a master of sound.
Never really listened to this band or song but you guys put me on to something new
Björk did everything from '80s anarchopunk (with her pre-Sugarcubes band KUKL, signed to CRASS Records no less) to pioneering '90s trip-hop and carving out her very own avant-garde niche. A true musical maverick and an untouchable sonic goddess. She's a force of nature.
She is a very unique genre-bending artist you can't pigeon hole. An artist's artist and a musician's musician. Love her .. she is always innovating something new but not new for the sake of new.
what first brought attention to bjork was the song 'birthday', by her then-band the sugarcubes. if you dig her voice, this will bring you to your knees. you HAVE to listen to this song
Shout out to Not Pulse and Trash Talkers! You fired off my brain hole with this one, had to go into my music vault and find Army Of Me(Tricky's Remix), this takes me back! On that note, Tricky(out of the UK) would be one to dive into, I would suggest Poems, or maybe Five Man Army(with Massive Attack).
Yes. Tricky and Massive Attack are 🤌 I love "Inertia Creeps" and "Butterfly Caught".
Mannn, I first discovered her by chance. I randomly picked her album up because I thought it looked cool and fell in love. I think i was about 15 or so
Bjork has some awesome tracks. Bit of crossover with triphop and then stuff that is almost entirely her own thing...she's very unique
The band Helmet's cover of this song is one of my absolute favorite songs ever.
Her concert with a symphony orchestra and Inuit chorus in the Amsterdam Carree around 2001 was the most amazing gig of my life.
Love this jam
SuckerPunch soundtrack
The other song on this soundtrack got these vibes too.
She's got a very interesting, diverse discography if you decide to dig deeper. It would also be interesting if y'all reacted to Sigur Rós.
She will always be remembered for the airport incident. Haha
Haha smokey's face, he's like "wtf... this video is trippin me out" lol
The video puts you off her amazing vocals.
The old Betty Hutton version of “It’s oh so quiet” is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice!
“Zombie Eaters” by Faith No More would be a good one to react to.
just stumbling upon ya'll and i love it here lol love me some bjork
Bjork was former singer for The Sugarcubes
“Cosmogony” and “Dull Flame of Desire” are my two underrated Björk faves. 👌
I heard this song on the Tank Girl soundtrack was so kick ass with the film!
🦋 First & foremost, Hope You Both Are Feeling Better. I Must Be Trippin' Because in this video she is getting dental work. Same side she was holding, It has been bothering me for the last 2 days. I'm Going in today at 3 what a strange coincidence. Love Listening To Bjork She Is A Beautiful Soul.
I get a Sense of her coming to revelation's because she continues to say she's tired of listening to the complaining. The Entire Video Is a Twisted Metaphor. And her music is so Diverse. Great Reaction!
Definitely Lookin' Forward to watching more Bjork in the coming future guys.
🦋You both keep talking about Prince I am definitely Looking Forward To That One Day, Some Day, Any Day Lol. Even Though You Both know the music. It would Still Be Very Entertaining. My Mother Loves Prince She Has So Much Prince Stuff Its Not Even Funny. When me & my sister was young it was The Beatles Or Prince continuously playing in our house when our dad was away long hours working for The State Road. And we have always loved Prince Because Of Our Mother. I Own The Albums, Movies, Cd's, I absolutely Love all his music/movie's ''Under The Cherry Moon'' is my favorite. It Seriously Would Be A Great Reaction Series Watching you both going thru All Of His Discography.
its always these goddamn rappers!! 8)
luv it !
Yaaassss! Love love love Bjork.
mid nineties and still feels like the sound of the future! i am sooo happy I rew up in the nineties and that I "grew up" with björk, she remains a visionary and an artistic and musical mastermind.
Great reaction boys, I love Bjork😍
Seriously Smokie knows tons of trivia and I love it!
HELMET did a cover of this for an ocean benefit album-music for our mother ocean which also featured NO DOUBT covering BAD BRAINS
That intro was everything 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Excellent choice.
I was first introduced to Björk when she released the single for "Human behaviour". I was working as adj at a rock club in central Gothenburg (Sweden) and we played a lot of alternative/indie rock and pop music. A friend of mine presented me with the single and I listened to it for like 10-15 seconds and just knew it was the right song to play. And the remixes she had were always interesting.
Straight from her own mouth during an interview: "Rhymes with jerk". (Byerk)
Bjork can whipe the floor with Sinead O´Connor and Dido
Una vez me dijeron eres igual a Björk 💜😍mi autoestima al cielo 😎💜👍👍👍👍👍
7:23 shocked confusion 😂
One of best for sure!!
Massive Attack made this beat for her.
Please react to Atopos, Björk just released it just last month. And it is such a feast for the eyes and ears 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😍🥰🥰🥰🥰
She definitely moves to the beat of her own drum. You should hear her talking about her TV. There's a UA-cam clip out there, it's hilarious. I could listen to her talk for hours!
It's been awhile since I watched the video for that song. Pretty sure everytime it would come on I'd tune out to the visuals just enjoy the sounds. Little further down someone mentioned 'Human Behaviour' by her, definitely worth a listen.
might be your thinking of SUGARCUBES. That was her band before her solo carrier. I think the song is called BIRTHDAY. cool song.
Featured in 1995 movie Tank Girl, is actually a really cool movie soundtrack with a bunch of alternative artists..and Ice-T who is also in the movie
You should look up the diamond in the mouth. Very interesting explanation she gives about it being a treasure from her mouth. The gorilla tries to steal it and to him it's small because it's not from him, he doesn't have to wrestle with it. But when she gets it back from him, it's hers again and it gets bigger and bigger because it's a beautiful burden.
Hi bro's, Björk is realy great and you must listen to the song It's all so....... , i dont know how to writing it ! Greatings and love from germany ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Bjork IS art . she is so unique , and you can listen to Oceania , joga or all if full of love . ❤
Portishead! Definitely need to check out that band. Trip Hop beats with awesome female lead vocalist.
First cassette album I ever bought as a teen was Bjork's Debut ;) I old xD
Tank Girl Soundtrack! I think the song you guys were thinking of is “Human Behavior”. It was all over MTV in the early-mid 90’s.
Bjork's first solo albums that were widely available started with the album "Debut" in 1993.
Thunderbolt of Björk from the album called "Biophilia"
How the heck did I miss this reaction...I freaking love Bjork. You should react to her song Hyperballad .
Who doesnt love John Bonham's drums? Damnnnn
Remember this one from the Sucker Punch movie.
The video is directed by Michel Gondry. He did a lot of music videos and a even some feature films in this style.
Check out the song " human behavior" by Björk. That video is also directed by Gondry.
"All is full of love" is incredible and one of the greatest music videos ever made
Check her song 'Big Time Sensuality' please guys...the film clip features her on mushrooms dancing on the back of a truck. Iconic! :)
There is a fantastic cover of this track by The Great Discord. Singer Fia Kempe absolutely slays it!
She was the lead singer of The Sugarcubes. Motorcrash is worth a listen for sure.
I see the video for this song as being a depiction of a dream - it totally has dream-logic, jumping from one odd thing to another.
Bjork's biggest hit was it's oh so quiet in 1995. The song was originally sung by Betty Hutton in 1951.
That's cool, I never knew it was a cover
@@mikethemotormouth ua-cam.com/video/2UjgLbv7n_Y/v-deo.html
Bjork is a TRUE artist!!
RECOMMENDATIONS!!: I Miss You - Possibly Maybe - Oceania - Violently Happy - Declare Independence - BACHELORETTE - Pluto - ISOBEL - Wanderlust - Enjoy...
Each of these is MUSICAL GENIUS, and for almost everything on the "Post" album you need to give credit to Tricky, and Massive Attack.
Her Hunter video/ song is sick!
i love her!
I Adore Bjork But Never Try To Understand Her Videos!!! ❤️I Once Cage Danced To This!! ❤️
You guys should check out some Tom Waits
This album is fire, this song is fire, Björk is... well ya already know. Jóga all day
I highly recommend her song, Bachelorette.
I think her biggest hit over here was probably Human Behavior, which came out in '93.
