I agree bad posture can make someone who is middle age look older than they are. This has been my new year resolution for 2023 to focus on improving my posture.
It is something I have to work on everyday Katie - I used to slouch when I was young due to being the tallest in my class and being bullied for it 🙁

I think one of the biggest mistakes is the wrong haircut,especially when you embrace your grey/silver hair.Taking into consideration the cut & styling is crucial.
Oh my. I can't agree with you more. I look younger than my age because I have my hair trimed an colored every 5 weeks. I always say "it's my hair" that keeps me looking young
I agree Joni - in general too much grey hair around the face is ageing - yet there are some women who have the most amazing long grey hair which suits them so well 😃
I think you may have misunderstood my comment,or I did not express it properly. I think grey/silver hair is stunning and actually can make you look younger. I see many women who do not have it cut & styled properly. After I decided to embrace my grey hair I received many compliments.It actually can make the lines on your face less harsh.

I was a red head but my hair is several shades from white on top to silver on sides to gray in back. So weird. So I have red low lights put in my hair and that suits me great. Some of the white on top shows through and I like that and I keep my hair long.

That pillow looks like a winner. Frequently I start the night sleeping on my back, but as the night wears on, I find myself on my side, face scrunched in the pillow! I do have a silk pillowcase and I think that helps too.

Sleep position makes a big difference. I’m mid-50s with almost no wrinkles at all. But I’ve been a back sleeper my whole life. Even if I try laying on my side, it’s brief. Everything else you mention really helps too. I’m curious about the pillow you mention. Looks supportive.

Bonjour, and thank you for all the great reminders and useful tips! One more factor that makes women and men age faster is WORRY. Maybe it is even number one? Because constant worry, stress and/or sadness can totally and permanently change someone's expression over the years, by creating downwards, deep wrinkles that are the opposite of happy or laughter wrinkles. But if we remember to be positive, optimistic, nurture our soul, and take care of ourselves by having fun, happy moments, laugh and enjoy ourselves as often as we can, even if it's just little things that cheer up through difficult times. Smile wrinkles are charming and give a youthful appearance 🙂!

Absolutely agree, if you are lucky enough to not have big worries and troubles you have surely ten yrs younger appearance; but if life don t save anything joyful there is nothing you can do with pillows and sleep.

My younger sisters & mother have been asking what beauty products I use to make myself look so young.
I've been telling them to get a good night's sleep for years & to stay hydrated. They don't listen. They say that my ideas are ridiculous. So now I just shrug when they ask about my beauty routine.
They all look 10 years older that me, even though in some cases, they are at least 10 years younger than me.
They have grey hair - when they don't dye it. I only have silver threads & few grey hairs.
They have more wrinkles than me.

I got my first sprinkles at 50 and never got worse in 10 years. I dye it about twice a year to brighten it up more than trying to cover what looks more blondish than grey. A little darker makes it look thicker too. Some anti seizure meds thinned it. Found another type and never fully recovered but stopped falling out like crazy. My mother in law rip warned me not to go blonde. It would look fried which would be more aging.

I keep trying to sleep on my back it is the hardest challenge ever for me that and to drink he proper amount of water that and to cut down on sugar although it’s organic raw but I have stopped so many bad habits and created such good new ones not giving up ever❤️you for this😘

These tips are so timely and accurate! Lack of sleep is my biggest issue although lately it has been better. My daughter is special needs and there are times when she is up at night....but it has been getting better due to the very things you mentioned. Diet, exercise, water help my daughter and me tremendously. For me my hair being shorter helps. If it gets to long I feel like it drags my face down. I recently stopped coloring my hair and I think that has made a big difference. Can't wait for your next video!!

I agree, the memory foam pillow was the best investment I've made many years ago, when the concept was relatively new. I've got rid of neck pain and neck skin creasing instantly.
I've added some exercises to my routine aimed to correct my posture. I would place the physical activity in one of the highest positions on our list...

Great video! Also, learn to sleep on the back. Because of a medical issue I had to sleep on my left side only for many years. Now, if you divide my face and look at one side and then the other, I look ten years older on the left side of my face. Scrunching the face into a pillow every night causes sags, bags and wrinkles. I am living proof…
Left side is the best position for the heart and digestion. Sleep on the back is dangerous for sleep apnea for example.

Perfect, love that you gave practical advice and not to buy the latest lotion or potion. Not keeping current on issues and positive are things that I think also age us.
I now live in a very dry and (for much of the year) very cold climate in the mountains (7,000 feet) so dry skin is an issue. Many years ago someone told me that the best moisturizer was petroleum jelly, which is usually sold in the U.S. under the Vaseline brand. Well, that's just too sticky, but what I have found is that Vaseline also puts out a moisturizing lotion under the name "Essential Healing," which is much lighter and not sticky. What I do every morning is put on my usual face moisturizer (any brand) and follow that with a light coating of Essential Healing. It leaves my skin looking and feeling dewy all day, even with temperatures dipping well below zero.
I hope you've done a video on hand care, because that's where a woman's age really shows - her hands.

I've changed my pillows for high quality ones very similar to the ones you've got, it's made a huge difference. Junk food, refined carbs, sugar, alcohol and smoking are the worst enemies. I move when I sleep, most do, so 'sleep creases' pffft! Get a comfortable 6 to 8 hours and be happy. I don't wear any makeup. I have excellent posture. Drink water 48 fl oz. Keto/carnivore diets only. Go for a walk/stroll every day.

Dark makeup colors DEFINITELY make us look older. My cousin proved this last week. She was wearing Black Cherry lipstick and Dark Grey eyeshadow. She looked bad, but I know that isn't her true appearance. The older we get, the closer to our skin color our makeup should be unless we're trying to look like a clown or a zombie.
Natural pink lipsticks, and eyeshadows slightly paler or slightly darker than my skin color is my modus operandi.

I had those blue pajamas. Got burnt feeding the woodstove and it sparked.
I found the right neck pillow that also helps the popped disk in my neck from hurting
from snowmobiling. Keeps my face up and stops any neck pain when side sleeping.
I stopped foundation and go with tinted moisturizers with Retin A. Foundation makes me look like a pug dog and more wrinkly. I gave up on trying so many types of foundations as I got older.
Having pets makes a home and my cats are polite about waiting for food til I wake curled up til I do. Sleep hard enough and may have one or two on me and never wakes me. 😂 Purrs lull me to sleep. A little symphony of purrs at night is relaxing. Grew allergic to dogs unfortunately.
The no makeup makeup is so much better J - I have ever used a foundation!

I'm 52. I have a few tips.
1. Wear pretty lingerie everyday, even if no one knows but you. But, it is called linger-ie, so if someone knows, fine.
2. Belly dance. With the hip scarf and the veil. Good for skin and digestion, your figure, and a youthful spirit.
3. Make sure your lipstick doesn't turn down at the corners. Don't apply your cheeks too low. And do not try too hard.
4. Charmuesse and pearls make you look lit from within. Cashmere works, too!
5. Navy is less harsh than black.

Bonjour Marie-Anne - I just can't bring myself to get back into wearing make-up these days, even though I bought a new set to go on holiday with a few months ago. It's partly the bother of having to remove it at night and partly not knowing how to apply it, to suit me best. I'm also not sure about continuing to colour my hair, at least not completely and permanently. I'm not fully grey yet, even though I'm now 65, so |I'm quite lucky in that respect. However, being recently post-surgery, I've started thinking about self-improvement, and doing so as naturally as possible. I'm really glad to hear that my nutrition is very much along the right lines. And I'm also wondering about getting a silk pillowcase or two. What are your thoughts on all/any of this? Merci bien.

I loved this video in the very unusual setting! So fresh and inspiring. I will definitely look into this pillow, I use an orthopedic one but I noticed that I am getting more lines on one side of the mouth, the side where I mostly sleep on.

I think well cut grey or white hair is flattering and so elegant. Dyed hair can be very aging and often looks too harsh against the softer lines of an older woman’s skin.
It really depends Glynis it is a personal choice to be decided between the woman and her hair stylist. Grey hair can be extremely flattering for some 😃 ( I have seen a number of examples) but very ageing for others especially if left long and I've seen many more examples of that 😢

For ages I was scared to stop colouring…but when I discovered all the great volumising and thickening products available( I swear by Aveda) and learnt a simple blow dry technique VOILA ! Pretty, soft, shiny hair with plenty of volume and many compliments.

All of these things make a difference. If your diet is good and stay hydrated, that makes more of an impact than the products you use on your face. It also helps with your sleep, particularly as we get older and hormones change. Definitely exercise or at least being active and moving your body. If your posture is poor, there are many exercises to help with that. That pillow looks interesting Marie-Anne. Thank you for sharing 💕

Sleeping is one of my favourite things to do but how well you sleep depends much on your mattress and pillow. Having bought a fantastic mattress for a very high price, I was gifted a pair of pillows very similar to these. What a difference they make to sleeping! I take mine with me when I travel too because once you try one of these pillows you almost forget just how much trouble pillows gave you before! Certainly being overweight does have an ageing effect. Exercise helps to maintain good posture as well as keep the body contours favourable.
Living in the hot climate of southern Spain, guzzling water is a pure necessity and in the hotter months, I usually drink between two and two and a half litres a day. The quantity of fair skinned people burning their skin raw red here distresses me. I am fair skinned and am obliged to cream up well before going outdoors, even in winter. The damage done by continual sun bathing is very real but the long term effects are more reptilic looking women around rather than Egyptian mummies!
Heavy make-up really does not flatter an older woman, it just makes her look ridiculous, as though she were ready to appear on stage maybe!! It has been quite an unusual journey I have found, tweeking and changing make-up colours and techniques but can absolutely testify to the "LESS IS MORE" being the preferable rule to follow.
Baggy, billowing long shirts/blouses, worn over trousers either straight or baggy, are rather ageing I think. They give the wearer a rectangular shape to the body which makes them look so heavy with all the eye concentrating on the knee to foot area only.
Long hair can also be ageing and I am delighted to see that the majority of women in late 50s/60s are wearing very stylish short hair cuts. I am also overjoyed that as women world wide, we now have "PERMISSION" from society to have white hair and that so many are choosing to reveal their natural colour in all of its changing glory!

I have to use a CPAP machine when I sleep, and I am sure the mask doesn't help my face. I bought some bamboo pillows from Wayfair, and they are great. They are very firm so there is minimal squashing.
My normal pillow is quite firm too Susan - the problem is my face is soft 🙁 so my face squishes against the hard pillow 🫣

If your neck is shorter than average your face will not float in that lovely cut out area because it won’t rise up that far. You might find a U-shaped pillow like one used for travel will provide the same floating area for your face .

As always, great info and perfect presentation. I am a water hog! I always have a thermos of cold water with me (the steel, insulated water glass size.) I prefer to do that rather than buy it in plastic bottles. Loved your "sip,sip hooray"! / Your skin is lovely without foundation! I'm jealous 😂😂 / Exercise, yes. I notice a marked difference with my skin (and all over feeling, physically and mentally) between when l can exercise and when my episodic illnesses kick in and l either have restricted abilities or am bed ridden. I will definitely think about the pillow. I've also heard that a silk pillowcase might help, mainly against hair brittleness. These tips are absolutely essential to me and I am trying my best to incorporate them to my life, but making myself to go to sleep earlier is what I'm constantly fighting with... Nutrition is the real deal for me, though.
I've also purchased a traditional tatami with a futon mattress and I will never switch to a "normal" one :))

Do not agree about having a pet : worries, huge waste if money, constraints when wanting to go on vacations and during vacations, imposing these animals to your friends and family.
Yellow teeth make people look older. Loss of eyebrows make people look older.
Such pillows give me neck pains.
There are videos out there telling the opposite of yours.
For posture I go to a chiropractor if there is something in my back or hips.
Don't use sunscreen, because there ars bad chemicals in it and the body needs vit d.Real food is important. Sometimes sublement vit D and magnesium and zink.
Go outside for exercises. When the sun is to much wear a stylish hat and a linnen blouse.
The infarred ligt can go through it and activate your cells.
The most wrinkles and skinproblems ate caused by touch carbs. Leave them out for one week from time to time and you will see. Silica or Amla powder after meal is good for hair and skin. Also homeopathic remedies as sepia for woman with hairloss and darker spots in the face.

Bonjour Julie - I am so glad you found a solution for your neck issues 😃 luckily I live in Normandie so sun is not a problem 😅 America probably got more sun during the eclipse than we do all year! But seriously yes when it is sunny I use a sunscreen - I will dig it out and edit my reply to give you the name 😃
