How to make Gold Fishing in Guild Wars 2

- Fishing is one of the easiest ways to make gold in Guild Wars 2.
Even though it is a low intensity activity, Fishing is one of the best Gold per hour activity in the game.
In this video, I discuss some of the ways you can improve your efficiency in fishing for gold.

To get max gold/hour you need all the buffs mentioned in the video. To get to 99 stacks of "Fishing Party Catches" buff, work with fellow gamers to get it fast! If you have 99 stacks, offer them to others by inviting them to your party! Ask in map chat for them! The more you help others, the more people help you. GW2 community is really wholesome and helpful and all you need to do is ask!

PRO tip: you can turn on day/night cycle notification in settings - time and it will then show on minimap, no need checking on wiki
I feel like the last notion is the most important.
Enjoy all parts of Guild Wars, don't just farm one thing, every day.
From large Meta Events (HoT-Trio, Dragonstand & -fall, Drizzlewood) to smaller ones; to Dungeons, Fractals, Raids. To fishing and trading; to WvW, PvP ... even doing JPs.
Min-maxing, I personally feel like, quickly drains; faster than other, grindier games, for some reason (BDO comes to mind).
can confirm, I was a hardcore min maxer for farming, spent hours in dragonfall and then drizzlewood, burned myself so hard I stopped playing for like 8 months, now I'm back and taking it slower and find joy in gw2 again 🙌 I still sometimes do dragonfall or drizzlewood but alternating with some other metas, some days I just fish haha.
The funny thing is I still manage to make legendaries at a good pace but this time I don't feel tired as hell when done so I can actually enjoy them lol

suggestion from a maniac:
firebeetle bait and repeat the firering collection over and over again, i'm now at my 72nd repetition and i'm not yet insane (i think)
-you never have to swap baits
-there's only one daytime and 2 nighttime fish in the whole collection(both in emberbay)
-it's always daytime in draconis mons
-you get a bit of a bonus everytime you complete the collection
-you get to enjoy people complaining about the druidstone collection every time you are in draconis mons
-you can get both worldclass and saltwater fish to complete either collection
its probably not the most efficient way to make gold, but most definetly the most braindead one, since you only have to pay attention to your bait and lure, you just gotta make sure you have some spare

Great guide, made 38g in 1 hr in Crystal Oasis, although have done much worse on other occasions :) 1 item missing from the guide, you may need cat treats, as fishing while a cat is watching the monitor proved problematic 😂 until they invent transparent cats, they seem to enjoy even virtual fish...
If that happens, just eat your cat. YUMMY!

For me, the Infinite Fishing Lure (100 fishing power) was a quality of life gem store purchase. Also the Treasure Isles Lounge is a great way to get your toons to fishing spots all through Tyria and the expansions. Fishing past level 45 helps leveling too! Level 45 is when you can consume “150 fishing power” food which you want.
I've got to get the infinite fishing lure. I also need to do EOD. I'm new, and got all the content but still working my way through my story. About to hit level 40. LoL I have a long way to go, but this is a good way I will enjoy spending my time

Thanks! Ask in map chat if anyone fishing has 99 stacks already and you can join their party to instantly get the stacks! I have found people are really helpful with that. Or if you find a few others, you can join forces to quickly get to 99stacks. Its really helpful to have those
Edit: also, when you catch your last fish in a fishing node, dont wait for the animation, you can use your stow weapon button to cancel the animation and quickly move on to the next node

hope god of rng be with you guys i have fished for a hour and only get 2 leg fish and 3 ascend fish but you can make around 35-40 g /hr if you are lucky btw subscribed ^_^

Sir, does magic find have an effect on fishing?
If you're on EU and want to fish with other people for quick 99 stacks, open LFG -> Path of Fire -> Crystal Oasis. There's usually a squad for fishing. Day fishing at crystal oasis, night fishing at New Kaineng channels (so not port, like this guide says, but inside the city, gph is about the same and does not require mackerel).
Now go fish 24/7 and drop those ambergris prices like there's no tomorrow! Don't forget to instasell! :)

Is the route and stuff still viable 8 months later? I am currently farming with fishing but I only make 20 gold / h (which is still good enough for me). I do still want to know how to get more :,)

here's the problem with fishing... You need gold in the first place to buy the shit that would even get you anything of profit.
Usually 10-15 gold an hour for me lol and I’m at 850 fishing crystal oasis

the standard should be realtime, so you gotta set it from local time to tyrian time
I had over 900 fishing power, with a fishing party that has 99 stacks, did that several times at crystal desert, used scorpions at day and mackerel at night and still only got barely 10 gold in 1 hour and 30 minutes, im just unlucky like that xD
I think the Extra Gathering Strike doesn't work with fishing, right?
I've been at it for 30 minutes and didn't get evn ONE extra fish from it yet
Do you mean the one from "Item Booster" buff? If so, then it should work. The usual fishing node without the buff gives you 3 fishes/node but with the buff you should get anywhere from 3-5/node

Yes there is! Specifically, The Stacking buff that goes up to a max stack of 99. Its 1 fish for 1 stack. so if you have a party of 5 people on the same skiff, you can generate these stacks very fast. If you are alone, it takes a long time to catch 99 fishes.
If someone already has 99 stacks, you can join their party, get on their skiff and then summon your own skiff and then leave their party to get their 99 stacks. People in this game are very helpful and all you need to do is ask. Do try and pay it forward though if someone asks for your fishing stacks. Enjoy Fishing!
You only need to farm 1 fish on the leaders skiff if they already have the 99 stacks. Then you can leave the party and as long as you have a skiff you won’t lose the 99 stacks.
The price of ambergris has tanked recently, now you're looking at only about 20 gold per hour. Still not bad at all, but nowhere near what this video purports.

I have been fishing for a while now and i have never made 30g per Hour in crystal oasis. And i don't think you have.
Nope, not even close to 36 g/h. You must be REALLY lucky to catch enough fish for 30-36 gold per hour even in Crystal Oasis. My results for 6 hours fishing is 12-20 gold per hour with all these masteries, buffs, lures, etc.

Strange how most of these gold/hour vids always advise buying food on tp... It's almost like someone crafted a ton of those foods and popped them on tp just before they release these videos... Now that would be a gold/hour vid to watch.

I dont do it every day.. it's pretty chill to fish while listening to a podcast or an audio book, all the while earning decent gold in the game.. it makes for a nice break from the insane apm meta event farming and I get closer to crossing off books from my to read/listen list for the year

I just want the loot for aurene legendary, i used boosters and food to. My fishing up to 575 on my war and guard has 600.
Yea fishing is profitable but that shit is boring as fuck.

A lot of profitable stuff in this game becomes tedious at some point :) nature of the beast in MMOs
