@@YizkiM I did not realize they changed it, but the waypoint cost from there is pretty high (to most places), so I use teh water locations to get on the right map, then waypoint to where I want. One extra loading screen is a few seconds, and free. 😎
One thing to note about mistlock: it is basically in the center of the map, so waypoint fees are generally pretty good except for cantha. Unfortunate that this new pass isn't within the canthan area of the world map. Still gonna probably get it because it looks awesome.

You didn't mention it so you might not know, but the fishing nodes in that lounge give fish from Seitung and Kaineng, and it counts towards Kaineng fishing collections.

One thing to remember: if you don't want the pass, but DO want the benefit of an easy-to-access Jade Bot workbench, you can buy a Jade Bot workbench decoration from a Research Merchant, place it near your guild hall entrance waypoint, and it'll function just like any other Jade Bot workbench.
The one minor minor bonus to this pass is that the fishing portals give "free" access (no silver cost) fast travel to more locations than were previously available from any of the previous hub scrolls. Like multiple locations in Elona, Orr, and all around Tyria. This can have minor benefits either for new alt characters that don't have all the waypoints yet, or if you're just trying to save 3-5 silver in exchange for an extra loading screen and 15 seconds on a zip line.
I would recommend this to a new player in a heartbeat. All the UM and VM spent on scrolls and books, and this just eliminates 90% of that. I get the the gripe with not being able to access the world map, but with so many teleport locations, odds are you can get pretty close, really quick.

I hardly touched my alts for any content especially base Tyria since it was a chore to get them around. Now? I just grab whoever i feel like now and its great!!!
It is by far the most aesthetically beautiful in my opinion. When it’s your hub that you will be seeing again and again basically forever, I think it’s important to have a nice one like this, especially with the chill fishing! . They really need to create a portal tome for holding passkeys. It doesn't feel worth it gunking up your precious shared inventory slots with more than 1, but I'd like to own more than 1 w/o that sacrifice. Though with D4 around the corner and the flop EoD strikes were for me, I'm not sure it matters.
The one advantage of this passkey is the portal that can port you to some locations that didnt have free port trough tomes or the tyria rift. Some of these locations are close to the rich nodes, so if you have decent loading speed, can save you bunch of gold while gathering.
These kinds of maps always remind me of my early Minecraft days. There was a time where I ran a server, and would agonize over hours trying to design hubs to be as efficient as possible without ever feeling too cluttered. Watching new people navigate new spaces just always fascinated me that way. And it was something most MMOs seemed to completely ignore. You visit almost any major city in any MMO, and it's like they didn't give two fucks about trying to make anything easy to navigate or understand. There'd be convoluted long and windy paths. Banks never near markets. Flight paths hidden away in some far corner. FFXIV's older towns divided important stuff between two zones. I'm glad the newer cities are a single zone now. But if anyone wondered why Limsa was the main hub? That's why. It's the ONLY starter town with the big crystal and the Market Board in the same zone. I currently have Mistlock right now, and I might get this one just to collect it. I just love these hubs. This is the kind of in-game feature that I'd gladly throw money for.
I've had a mistlock pass for half a year now, and just now learned that it had a map elevation switch =_= I always used to port to aerodrome and then somewhere else
This lounge is a beautiful zone. It is more visually interesting than mistlock for sure. but I already have mistlock so yeah, no reason to spend more on lounge passes. I am however a bit tempted, if only because I like the area.
i still prefer the layout of mistlock the aesthetic of the crafting benches (looking sci-fi ish) And access to fractals is a huge up, i almost never go LA for fractals now but this pass is definitely more visually stunning, too bad that alone isnt enough to warrant 1000gems

Oh man, this is really beautiful! Thank you for showing it off. I have the Lily of the Elon from the PoF deluxe edition but have never had any interest in the other premium lounges, I just use the guild hall for bank/merchant/repairs if needed, to port back easily. The thing that has me really tempted with this one is the portal taking you to different locations in the world. I've got 36 characters, so moving them around easily to maps I don't have WP's for can be a pain! Having the option to just port them out to Vabbi without having to drag them through multiple PoF maps, or quickly get to whatever Cantha map I want is a huge positive! Gonna think on it for a couple of days, but that combined with the crafting stations and fishing bait vendor just might get me to pick this one up!
best way to move alts about is to grab a friend, and port to them. Then you can actually port anywhere in the entire game from anywhere, and they are free.
@@ASchnacky There is no cooldown if you use the consumables :) There is no point for the EoD lounge to exist, unless you like fishing that much, and even then.
this is for me personally only: i have the wvw lounge, the fractal lounge and just bought the new fishing lounge and i feel like i will use all three frequently and they were worth the money. i do fractals everyday, i play wvw very very much and this new fishing one will be my new chill spot since i do fishing inbetween other things. i feelnlike the 3 i have all offer unique reasons to have them. but thats also because i dont mind throwing some money at the game every now and again. i will mention i did need to purchase an extra shared inventory slot after getting this new lounge pass, i feel like the shared slot should come with the permanant passes. but again, i still am happy with my purchases. just my own 2 cents tho =)
Yeah, I think at least they should make a bundle for shared inventory + pass so you don't need to pay full price on a shared slot every time you want to buy a pass.
drawbacks: - double loading screens to get anywhere in world map - no fractal entrance advanages: - get you to places where you don't have waypoint - fishing stuffs And yes those pay for themselves, anything that save a bit of gold incidently and save a bit of time is worth it in the long run due to tp costs and missed oportunity farming something else. It is arguably better than fractal one in lots of situations, and if you have a good computer with low loading times it gets even better.
internet conection has nothing to do with load times, like this comment states, faster pc will get you faster load screens, i put the game on a m.2 and everything loaded between 1 and 2 seconds, maybe even less
Thanks for the video, the current sale on the pass is ending today so I was looking into buying one. I went ahead and did it. As of today they have added an Arborstone port and you can now access the entire map of Tyria from inside the Pavilion, so it's definitely a step up from where it was when this video was made.
The loot tables for the mysterious fish nodes are Seitung, Kaening, World Class, and Saltwater fishing nodes…the easiest method I found to complete World Class and Saltwater fisher.
The place is beautiful and very convenient for fishing enthusiasts. The only thing I would like it to have is day/night rotation, so we can catch some nighttime fish, and the aesthetic at night would have been gorgeous.

I’ve only had the Mistlock. So I was unaware of the map not being readily available to players with the other passes. What a pain! Anet should fix that.
Mukluk real estate: a lovely seaside abode within walking distance to town for easy shopping. Spacious and bright, an absolute must for those who wanna get away from it all. Local sea life is plentiful and accessible from every direction. Public beach access is available, though it is a “dry” beach.
Good lounge for the rp'ers xD I still like the look and the utility of the mislock more though. I'd still recommend that one for people who just want one VIP lounge. for me, I'd probably buy it for the sake of having it lol
Thank you for this, Muk! You've helped me make my call on whether or not to grab this. I'm definitely not going to, since Arborstone ultimately provides the most pivotal features this does, and you get it for free in the game. Most importantly (to me), the Arborstone portal scroll gives you a free trip to the Canthan region without additional loading screens. This is pretty, but seems like a waste, which is such a shame.
Got to be level 80 to use the Arborstone tome portal but can access for free on any level toon from Thousand Isle Portal. Only lounge in the game with Arborstone access.
I wanted to get my friend a Mistlock for convenience, so this is was an unexpected alternative. Of course I had to buy me one too so we could go together. But now I'm really digging it and will probably make it my new primary lounge.
Bought the mistlock in march sale, this is the first time I've buyers remorse. Especially because fishing is really important for me. But of course I couldn't knew the features a few weeks ago.
Armistice bastion is the only place with wvw balance trainning golems if I remember correctly. Maybe the underwater golems are supposed to match that? Also note: if you just need a lounge that let's you return to original location with bank and merchant for alt parking, the free pvp lobby does that too.
I ran across this vid recently and I have a dedicated new ranger (Ol Fisherwoman), I thought I would get the 2 week version a try and give it a spin. Since my toon is Norn, I started out in the starter area. I needed to level up some to start getting XP with fishing. Really need to get to 45 so I could eat 150 fishing power food so used up some tomes to get to 45. Have to admit that it’s been a blast visiting higher zones through the portal. Even been hanging out around hero point npcs and picking up points as level appropriate folks come in to get HPs. Tagging and keeping distance has netted enough HPs that I’ve now completed three full skills/traits lines and just hit 53! Having the bank and TP right next to each other is really convenient. I think I probably go ahead and get the permanent lounge but I still have plenty of time on the 2 week version. Tagging up nearby WPs may make me reconsider but instant access across all the expansions is really tempting.
I didn't know the Mistlock and Armistice passkeys are the only other passkeys (along with this one) that can do the return trip by double-clicking. I'm really glad I bought the Armistice key, it is really useful for alt-parking! I also didn't know Armistice was the only other map that doesn't allow a direct port to other world locations, huh.
A while back i promised my self to not get more passes. And yet somehow this pass ended up in my backpack because fishing. I think it is great they added underwater dummies, there is none anywhere in the game and if you for example want to work on your rotation for underwater fractals then this is great. I do agree though that they should also add it somewhere in the world for all to use like the PvP lobby dummies so that everybody can do this. Also for those that did not notice yet but when i was there today hammering on the golems and they died i finnished my SAB champion daily =D
For those of us who like to save on waypoint costs the fishing portal sounds amazing! I usually port to the closest capital anyway so that’s more options that are closer.
The option to return to previous location is HUGE to me, it is the reason I don't even use Arborstone or instances because I go into PvP to then exit in the same place I was
More taxing on performance, no fractal portal and I kinda wish it had a speed buff merchant like all major cities have (before a mastery made them obsolete, anyway) - because even though merchants are close to each other, for characters without swiftness or other speed increases it still feels kind of slow to navigate when compared to mistlock (where you have the jump AND the fractal speed potion). But at the same time, I bought it because it's just a nice place where you can hang around and preview dyes on yourself in a better lighting environment, mounts (can't use mounts in mistlock), skiffs, use some other novelties like chairs, and even has some training dummies for fun (a bit of a bummer that there's nothing on the surface though, they're only underwater, but hey - training underwater combat!). Also I can preview "true" stats on my gear without fractal potions converting agony resistance to precision and boon duration, if the buffs are still present - I don't think there's an easy way to get rid of them in mistlock. Plus I kinda got tired of the mistlock theme and rata novus theme being played on repeat there - Thousand Seas plays calmer, more relaxing EoD songs instead. Maybe not worth 1000 gems, More like 700-800 for my personal taste, but eh, still got it. It's kind of nice, just needs some polishing around the edges.
As someone who loves fishing I was trying to decide if this was worth it. Thank you for breakdown. Definitely on my list now for my "fishing main". ^.^
Hmm, if the access to the bodies of water was implemented via console/NPC that does not require going to the edge of the map, I'd pick it. Seems great for Taro Everclaw daily and map completion.
An added convenience this pass has is being able to bring alts to the Crystal Oasis without having to play the first PoF story instance, just like the Lily of the Elon pass.
Great review! I was wondering what this place looked like. I just use wvw obsidian sanctum for quick bank/tp access, that function teleports you also right back to where you were! ^^
I've held off on getting any of the passes and I think I might continue. Truth is, I just don't see the point in buying any pass when/if you have a fully decked out Arborstone. It has access to LA, strikes, bank, TP, mystic forge, vendors, and crafting stations. If you need to get to a major city for free (cheap), you port to LA then port/WP to one of the cities. If I need to access the bank, vendor or TP from anywhere in the world, I simply go to the PvP lounge (top left corner with the crossed swords symbol) and it lets me return right back to where I was. The only thing I really like about this pass is the fact that you can port to maps that your alts have never been to. I already have Season 2, 3, 4 tomes (portal scrolls), but this pass could be pretty handy. Of course, spending 1000 gems just to save some silver on WPs... meh.
Bought the mistlock after seeing your vid about it and am totally satisfied with it. For fishing I'll just jump around the map. Nice to have seen it though
Shouldn't a lot of them have it? Since most of them are in the open world. Like the Divinity's Reach one, or the Ember Bay one, Airship, Verdant Brink. All of them I believe gives you access to the world map because they exist in the open world. Only ones that don't give you access to the world map are Armstice Bastion since its in the WvW map. The PvP one, since its in the PvP lobby. And this one for some reason.
These passes are not necessary by any means, but they are convenient (and cool). Players shouldn't feel pressured into getting these in my opinion. There are better ways to spend your gems and gold. That being said, nothing has come even close to Mistlock as far as these passes go. This new one is thematically interesting and I'm sure some players will enjoy it. But Mistlock is still by far the best one and I would advice anyone to pick that up if they are dead set on obtaining one of these passes. One thing I would like in Mistlock is for them to add WvW portals.
Honestly that extra step to get to the world map is a big one for me. I'd love something new, as I've had Mistlock for years, but this just doesn't seem like a replacement for that sadly. Also the no fractal portal and npcs is lame. Thanks for the review.

Alts can just use wvw as a free way to access everything (also guild hall for workbench). This is worse then Mistlock in every way. The only thing this gives is fishing players something. And underwater Golems. You still need to go to Arborstone for strikes and eod vendors. Jade bot work bench is a Guild hall deco, just place it next to the port and boom. Honestly what this does is confuse me even more so that they made Arborstone a mastery track. And Gave you a free portal to it. This should have been given with the EoD expansion pack like the lounge with PoF was.
A possible (and this might be along shot) but possible reason they didnt add it to the open world to port out and the fact they obviously added fishing needs to the pass is so that you take the time and use the fishing portals? instead of using WP to go to fishing holes. Long shot but its possible and unfortunate to have another loading screen.
It looks nice now, but I cringe at the thought of it getting crowded like Mistlock in the future, especially around the fishing holes with skiff skins getting larger and larger these days. IMO Mistlock still win for me because of the special action key quick travel. As others have mentioned, the only good thing about this new pass is the multiple teleport locations, which will be great for new characters to unlock new areas. I do like the aesthetic though, very Seitung-like and hopefully no aggressive mobs to disrupt fishing. What are the fishes from the mysterious fishing holes?
It has nearly every content in game from portal wether your going to fish or not its a free port to any zone in world works great for alts without a lot of map completion can easily unlock most of map without doing story over and over
I really like it but they should allow you to way point out like mistlock and I really really hope they add tge daily catch tab to the fishmonger so I can check here rather than arborstone for the daily catch ambergris!
I would get this if it had strike portals or Mistlock's world map access. I'll pay to have less loading screens. It's pretty, but I don't think I'd use it more than twice. Maybe someday we'll get an all-strikes lounge
Damn, being an explorer type player who was disappointed that we only got 4 maps after PoF's 5 and coming from a very small guild that makes me sad, thought that the level 80 area that turns out to be the Isle of Reflection may have been a Living World 6 area. As for the pass I'll give it a miss although if they added the following features I would buy it ... A scribing station, would love to make my own banners just for that reason alone (maybe make the station free for guilds that have one and for those that don't have a guild hall locked behind some sort of large collection). Optional: A jumping puzzle, I had fun doing the one at Armistice Bastion Right now its about as useful to me as the Lava Lounge Pass, I'll stick to Arborstone for Cantha. P.S. Something I'd pay gems for .... All of the portal tomes and passes merged into one, right now I'm carrying around 10 portal tomes and passes stored in shared inventory slots.
I still don't see the point of getting those when porting to the PvP lobby is available to all, has vendors and bank and trading post, and exiting puts you where you started at
Very beautiful place, odd choice of the devs not adding this to the world. IDK I'm kind of thorn on this one, I want to buy a lounge but the mistlock seems better for me because of the Fractals portal. I enjoy fishing but IDK if I enjoy so much that I would buy this instead of waiting for mistlock.
The part about using it as a way to park an NPC at a hard to get location....you could easily just go to the PVP Lobby, do your thing there, and then exit the PVP Lobby and you'll pop right back to where you were. I use that all the time.
Depends on the use. What you described is perfect for bank access, but if your alts are also crafters you may need to quickly take them to an artificing table, make use of them, then put them back, etc.

Anet should have put this map in the game propper and just locked off the convenience section (like they have with other lounges), feels like such a misuse of artist time and effort where they could have used this as a mini update.
Do those fishing vendors sell the amber or jade lures an the Creepy Crawlies bags? If not, then we have to go back to Arborstone any way. Hmm. As a fisher, I want to buy this, but there are just some things that make me hold off on it.

Ah, see, I knew Muk wasn't into fishing, so unfortunately it's missing the most important bit. I don't really care about the "convenient teleport to fishing locations", dunno why they added that, given that any avid fisher, already knows where to go for easy fishing spots. What I would be most interested in, though, is what kinds of fish you can catch in this area. Currently my go-to for profitable fishing is Seitung, but if this spot has more specific legendary fish options or more crustaceans, it could actually be somewhat ok. I do have to say, though, that I wouldn't be able to get used to the missing "low gravity + quick jump around the area" that mistlock brings.
As of May 10th 2022 you can now access the world map from Thousand Seas Pavilion. No more double loading screens!

yea this lets you get alts to alot of zones easily not quite a waypoint unlock pass but a waypoint starter kit

Oh man, this is really beautiful! Thank you for showing it off. I have the Lily of the Elon from the PoF deluxe edition but have never had any interest in the other premium lounges, I just use the guild hall for bank/merchant/repairs if needed, to port back easily.
The thing that has me really tempted with this one is the portal taking you to different locations in the world. I've got 36 characters, so moving them around easily to maps I don't have WP's for can be a pain! Having the option to just port them out to Vabbi without having to drag them through multiple PoF maps, or quickly get to whatever Cantha map I want is a huge positive! Gonna think on it for a couple of days, but that combined with the crafting stations and fishing bait vendor just might get me to pick this one up!
best way to move alts about is to grab a friend, and port to them. Then you can actually port anywhere in the entire game from anywhere, and they are free.
@@ASchnacky There is no cooldown if you use the consumables :) There is no point for the EoD lounge to exist, unless you like fishing that much, and even then.

this is for me personally only: i have the wvw lounge, the fractal lounge and just bought the new fishing lounge and i feel like i will use all three frequently and they were worth the money. i do fractals everyday, i play wvw very very much and this new fishing one will be my new chill spot since i do fishing inbetween other things. i feelnlike the 3 i have all offer unique reasons to have them. but thats also because i dont mind throwing some money at the game every now and again. i will mention i did need to purchase an extra shared inventory slot after getting this new lounge pass, i feel like the shared slot should come with the permanant passes. but again, i still am happy with my purchases. just my own 2 cents tho =)
Yeah, I think at least they should make a bundle for shared inventory + pass so you don't need to pay full price on a shared slot every time you want to buy a pass.

You didn't mention the "easter egg" in the Mystic Forge and the fact that it's always day in this lounge.
drawbacks:
- double loading screens to get anywhere in world map
- no fractal entrance
advanages:
- get you to places where you don't have waypoint
- fishing stuffs
And yes those pay for themselves, anything that save a bit of gold incidently and save a bit of time is worth it in the long run due to tp costs and missed oportunity farming something else. It is arguably better than fractal one in lots of situations, and if you have a good computer with low loading times it gets even better.
internet conection has nothing to do with load times, like this comment states, faster pc will get you faster load screens, i put the game on a m.2 and everything loaded between 1 and 2 seconds, maybe even less
Thanks for the video, the current sale on the pass is ending today so I was looking into buying one. I went ahead and did it. As of today they have added an Arborstone port and you can now access the entire map of Tyria from inside the Pavilion, so it's definitely a step up from where it was when this video was made.
The loot tables for the mysterious fish nodes are Seitung, Kaening, World Class, and Saltwater fishing nodes…the easiest method I found to complete World Class and Saltwater fisher.
The place is beautiful and very convenient for fishing enthusiasts. The only thing I would like it to have is day/night rotation, so we can catch some nighttime fish, and the aesthetic at night would have been gorgeous.

It looks great but imho Mistlock is still better utility-wise especially if you often do fractals.
Not being on the world map kills it for me. It would make Cantha feel larger and more full if it was.
I’ve only had the Mistlock. So I was unaware of the map not being readily available to players with the other passes. What a pain! Anet should fix that.
Mukluk real estate: a lovely seaside abode within walking distance to town for easy shopping. Spacious and bright, an absolute must for those who wanna get away from it all. Local sea life is plentiful and accessible from every direction. Public beach access is available, though it is a “dry” beach.
The Royal Terrace Pass lets you go back to your previous map too... not by double clicking it, but by entering the single asura gate there.
Good lounge for the rp'ers xD I still like the look and the utility of the mislock more though. I'd still recommend that one for people who just want one VIP lounge. for me, I'd probably buy it for the sake of having it lol
Thank you for this, Muk! You've helped me make my call on whether or not to grab this. I'm definitely not going to, since Arborstone ultimately provides the most pivotal features this does, and you get it for free in the game. Most importantly (to me), the Arborstone portal scroll gives you a free trip to the Canthan region without additional loading screens. This is pretty, but seems like a waste, which is such a shame.
Got to be level 80 to use the Arborstone tome portal but can access for free on any level toon from Thousand Isle Portal. Only lounge in the game with Arborstone access.

I wanted to get my friend a Mistlock for convenience, so this is was an unexpected alternative. Of course I had to buy me one too so we could go together. But now I'm really digging it and will probably make it my new primary lounge.

Bought the mistlock in march sale, this is the first time I've buyers remorse. Especially because fishing is really important for me. But of course I couldn't knew the features a few weeks ago.

Armistice bastion is the only place with wvw balance trainning golems if I remember correctly. Maybe the underwater golems are supposed to match that?
Also note: if you just need a lounge that let's you return to original location with bank and merchant for alt parking, the free pvp lobby does that too.

I ran across this vid recently and I have a dedicated new ranger (Ol Fisherwoman), I thought I would get the 2 week version a try and give it a spin. Since my toon is Norn, I started out in the starter area. I needed to level up some to start getting XP with fishing. Really need to get to 45 so I could eat 150 fishing power food so used up some tomes to get to 45. Have to admit that it’s been a blast visiting higher zones through the portal. Even been hanging out around hero point npcs and picking up points as level appropriate folks come in to get HPs. Tagging and keeping distance has netted enough HPs that I’ve now completed three full skills/traits lines and just hit 53! Having the bank and TP right next to each other is really convenient. I think I probably go ahead and get the permanent lounge but I still have plenty of time on the 2 week version. Tagging up nearby WPs may make me reconsider but instant access across all the expansions is really tempting.
I didn't know the Mistlock and Armistice passkeys are the only other passkeys (along with this one) that can do the return trip by double-clicking. I'm really glad I bought the Armistice key, it is really useful for alt-parking! I also didn't know Armistice was the only other map that doesn't allow a direct port to other world locations, huh.
A while back i promised my self to not get more passes. And yet somehow this pass ended up in my backpack because fishing. I think it is great they added underwater dummies, there is none anywhere in the game and if you for example want to work on your rotation for underwater fractals then this is great. I do agree though that they should also add it somewhere in the world for all to use like the PvP lobby dummies so that everybody can do this. Also for those that did not notice yet but when i was there today hammering on the golems and they died i finnished my SAB champion daily =D
For those of us who like to save on waypoint costs the fishing portal sounds amazing! I usually port to the closest capital anyway so that’s more options that are closer.
The option to return to previous location is HUGE to me, it is the reason I don't even use Arborstone or instances because I go into PvP to then exit in the same place I was
More taxing on performance, no fractal portal and I kinda wish it had a speed buff merchant like all major cities have (before a mastery made them obsolete, anyway) - because even though merchants are close to each other, for characters without swiftness or other speed increases it still feels kind of slow to navigate when compared to mistlock (where you have the jump AND the fractal speed potion).
But at the same time, I bought it because it's just a nice place where you can hang around and preview dyes on yourself in a better lighting environment, mounts (can't use mounts in mistlock), skiffs, use some other novelties like chairs, and even has some training dummies for fun (a bit of a bummer that there's nothing on the surface though, they're only underwater, but hey - training underwater combat!). Also I can preview "true" stats on my gear without fractal potions converting agony resistance to precision and boon duration, if the buffs are still present - I don't think there's an easy way to get rid of them in mistlock. Plus I kinda got tired of the mistlock theme and rata novus theme being played on repeat there - Thousand Seas plays calmer, more relaxing EoD songs instead.
Maybe not worth 1000 gems, More like 700-800 for my personal taste, but eh, still got it. It's kind of nice, just needs some polishing around the edges.
But you can use mounts which you can't in mistlock so it's not that different

There's no access to fractals or the aerodrome because Arenanet have forgotten that raids and fractals exist.
Hmm, if the access to the bodies of water was implemented via console/NPC that does not require going to the edge of the map, I'd pick it. Seems great for Taro Everclaw daily and map completion.
An added convenience this pass has is being able to bring alts to the Crystal Oasis without having to play the first PoF story instance, just like the Lily of the Elon pass.

Great review! I was wondering what this place looked like. I just use wvw obsidian sanctum for quick bank/tp access, that function teleports you also right back to where you were! ^^
I've held off on getting any of the passes and I think I might continue.
Truth is, I just don't see the point in buying any pass when/if you have a fully decked out Arborstone. It has access to LA, strikes, bank, TP, mystic forge, vendors, and crafting stations.
If you need to get to a major city for free (cheap), you port to LA then port/WP to one of the cities.
If I need to access the bank, vendor or TP from anywhere in the world, I simply go to the PvP lounge (top left corner with the crossed swords symbol) and it lets me return right back to where I was.
The only thing I really like about this pass is the fact that you can port to maps that your alts have never been to. I already have Season 2, 3, 4 tomes (portal scrolls), but this pass could be pretty handy. Of course, spending 1000 gems just to save some silver on WPs... meh.
I really enjoy how compact everything is here. It is the most efficient of all the VIP areas when you consider that aspect.

Shouldn't a lot of them have it? Since most of them are in the open world. Like the Divinity's Reach one, or the Ember Bay one, Airship, Verdant Brink. All of them I believe gives you access to the world map because they exist in the open world.
Only ones that don't give you access to the world map are Armstice Bastion since its in the WvW map. The PvP one, since its in the PvP lobby. And this one for some reason.

These passes are not necessary by any means, but they are convenient (and cool). Players shouldn't feel pressured into getting these in my opinion. There are better ways to spend your gems and gold. That being said, nothing has come even close to Mistlock as far as these passes go. This new one is thematically interesting and I'm sure some players will enjoy it. But Mistlock is still by far the best one and I would advice anyone to pick that up if they are dead set on obtaining one of these passes.
One thing I would like in Mistlock is for them to add WvW portals.

Honestly that extra step to get to the world map is a big one for me. I'd love something new, as I've had Mistlock for years, but this just doesn't seem like a replacement for that sadly. Also the no fractal portal and npcs is lame. Thanks for the review.
I'm shocked that I never knew that you can port to the world from mistlock xD It makes it a more valuable purchase to me now haha (I have Armistice too bc I wvw 90% of the time and having team chat is neat but knowing this about Mistlock it's a cool combo).

4:53 Please record footage of all possible teleport destinations for this portal. Are they all fixed locations? (meaning, no randomness at all)
The only reason I want the pass is for the fishing. As someone with Mistlock, Armistice, and a few others.... it's almost a waste to get this one. Thanks for the upload! Love the feedback.
Alts can just use wvw as a free way to access everything (also guild hall for workbench). This is worse then Mistlock in every way. The only thing this gives is fishing players something. And underwater Golems. You still need to go to Arborstone for strikes and eod vendors. Jade bot work bench is a Guild hall deco, just place it next to the port and boom. Honestly what this does is confuse me even more so that they made Arborstone a mastery track. And Gave you a free portal to it.
This should have been given with the EoD expansion pack like the lounge with PoF was.
With Mistlock, Arborstone, and Lilly of the Elon (no longer used) I'm set.
A possible (and this might be along shot) but possible reason they didnt add it to the open world to port out and the fact they obviously added fishing needs to the pass is so that you take the time and use the fishing portals? instead of using WP to go to fishing holes. Long shot but its possible and unfortunate to have another loading screen.
It looks nice now, but I cringe at the thought of it getting crowded like Mistlock in the future, especially around the fishing holes with skiff skins getting larger and larger these days.
IMO Mistlock still win for me because of the special action key quick travel. As others have mentioned, the only good thing about this new pass is the multiple teleport locations, which will be great for new characters to unlock new areas.
I do like the aesthetic though, very Seitung-like and hopefully no aggressive mobs to disrupt fishing. What are the fishes from the mysterious fishing holes?
I feel that, with Arborstone in EoD, an EoD pass is a lot less interesting than other ones historically.
and if you jump into the mystic forge you become a random fish, wich is nice, not very useful but nice
It has nearly every content in game from portal wether your going to fish or not its a free port to any zone in world works great for alts without a lot of map completion can easily unlock most of map without doing story over and over

I really like it but they should allow you to way point out like mistlock and I really really hope they add tge daily catch tab to the fishmonger so I can check here rather than arborstone for the daily catch ambergris!
I would get this if it had strike portals or Mistlock's world map access. I'll pay to have less loading screens. It's pretty, but I don't think I'd use it more than twice. Maybe someday we'll get an all-strikes lounge

Damn, being an explorer type player who was disappointed that we only got 4 maps after PoF's 5 and coming from a very small guild that makes me sad, thought that the level 80 area that turns out to be the Isle of Reflection may have been a Living World 6 area.
As for the pass I'll give it a miss although if they added the following features I would buy it ...
A scribing station, would love to make my own banners just for that reason alone (maybe make the station free for guilds that have one and for those that don't have a guild hall locked behind some sort of large collection).
Optional: A jumping puzzle, I had fun doing the one at Armistice Bastion
Right now its about as useful to me as the Lava Lounge Pass, I'll stick to Arborstone for Cantha.
P.S. Something I'd pay gems for .... All of the portal tomes and passes merged into one, right now I'm carrying around 10 portal tomes and passes stored in shared inventory slots.

All true, the main thing would be if your parked alts are your crafters too, and the pvp lobby doesn't have crafting stations.

IDK I'm kind of thorn on this one, I want to buy a lounge but the mistlock seems better for me because of the Fractals portal. I enjoy fishing but IDK if I enjoy so much that I would buy this instead of waiting for mistlock.
The part about using it as a way to park an NPC at a hard to get location....you could easily just go to the PVP Lobby, do your thing there, and then exit the PVP Lobby and you'll pop right back to where you were. I use that all the time.
Depends on the use. What you described is perfect for bank access, but if your alts are also crafters you may need to quickly take them to an artificing table, make use of them, then put them back, etc.
@@MuklukUA-cam True, I wasn't even thinking about the crafting parts of it. Works for me though since I don't really craft much and just need to do a bank/AH/vendor run every once and a while :)
Anet should have put this map in the game propper and just locked off the convenience section (like they have with other lounges), feels like such a misuse of artist time and effort where they could have used this as a mini update.

Ah, see, I knew Muk wasn't into fishing, so unfortunately it's missing the most important bit.
I don't really care about the "convenient teleport to fishing locations", dunno why they added that, given that any avid fisher, already knows where to go for easy fishing spots.
What I would be most interested in, though, is what kinds of fish you can catch in this area. Currently my go-to for profitable fishing is Seitung, but if this spot has more specific legendary fish options or more crustaceans, it could actually be somewhat ok.
I do have to say, though, that I wouldn't be able to get used to the missing "low gravity + quick jump around the area" that mistlock brings.
