Slim, you do what you do. Our hearts are with you. We can feel the pain in your voice, your movements. We don’t know what happened; your private life is private. Just know that there is quite a number of us that care for you. We are here and listening. You are not alone. Texas
Yes indeed!
Well said, echoed from Wyoming.
Peace
ditto from down south, savannah ga.... take care sp
Much love from Utah my friend

Hey Slim - glad to have you back - we all missed you!
Good to hear from you Slim. Do what you need to do for your health, and even if you don't have enough content, just have a beer with us and say hello.
I never thought I would miss someone I hadn't met...but with you Slim, I did. I missed you like an old friend. Sounds like you are suffering and I'm so very sorry. But you don't realize how many of us are so happy by what you seem to do so effortlessly. You wonderful storytelling is so soothing and spiritual. I know I'm very grateful for your time and effort.
Very nicely written... thank you for expressing this.
No matter what happens, life goes on. This is coming from a twice widowed father of 3.
That's brutal. I'm sorry to hear that
Yeah I lost two spouses too.. i.miss the companionship.. of helping each other and interests..
In my case, it was a child. Life goes on with difficulty.
@@cherriemckinstry131 So sorry to hear that.
I also lost my spouse, its tough but life goes on just in a differrnt way.
@@sawhill729 I am very sorry, loosing a child is terrible.
Sorry for your loss. I just lost my dad last week and I read something that really made sense. Grief is not something we complete, but endure. So…It’s ok not to rush. Take time for you…Things have changed and we change with it. 💔
Vicki. Im sorry slim. My heart goes out to you. Seems like she had a special place in your heart. You provide so much joy to so many and provide a getaway to so many. I wish i had the words to lift your spirits. But just know youre appreciated and loved. Stay strong my friend were with you!
Who is Vicki, and what happened? I saw the dedication, but no explanation.
@@johndecriscio9586 Slim was away for the past four weeks, I assume because of what happened to Vicki. Who she was is not for us to know, only that she meant a lot to Slim.
In a way, that he doesn't speak about her, tells a lot. We don't know who she was in his life, but that he couldn't go on with his life (and do videos) for a while tells that she was very special. 🌳
And there is that mindfulness in his voice that shows that one is adjusting to a new reality.
Thank you.
@@johndecriscio9586 also he responded to a comment about 3 weeks to a month ago on the little ticks video basically telling us that some things were going on and he was dealing with some things that were more important. So we get a better look into exactly whats going on. And sometimes you dont. Need to say things in order to say them. It's just hard kn him right now. And he will need our support prayers and care.
Just remember to take care of yourself and don't worry about to much.. sit back and relax and just go out and enjoy life, we are never promised tomorrow's but when we wake up in the Mornings it's a gift.. 🙏❤️
Slim, I was missing you a lot. I am very sad to learn you lost someone close to you. I can tell it took the wind out of your sails, and that you will need time to heal. We are here cheering you on and ready to see your next adventure when YOU are ready. Take the time you need to heal, and deal with your health. Stay safe. Big hugs!!♥️❣️🙏🏼❣️♥️
Welcome Back Slim!!! So sorry for your loss.... Stay Strong....
Happy to see you back this morning, Slim. Prayers for healing and finding your serenity in nature. We will be here waiting patiently whenever you are able to share with us again.
Slim....rest...relax...and recover. Glad you took some time off. We're all sending you a hug.
Thxs for articulating it for most of us..
Take your time, Slim. We'll be here when you are ready.
Well said indeed. Slim, know that your pleasant manner and kind outlook inspire many. Right now, when you need it, hopefully kind comments can inspire you.
Praying for guidance, and so sorry you have lost someone special.
Love your narrating voice...you could be on National Geograpics! The beauty you capture is also a reflection of your inner self. So I thank you for this vid. In this big world...you are NOT ALONE! That's why we have sunrises and sunsets and all of nature to comfort us and give peace when needed!
Hello Slim. Always good to see a video from you. Glad you’re in a state of mind to enjoy the sunsets and nature, despite the gloom. Best wishes.
You watch these Videos too? You are both my go to channels in the evening. :) Love your content and the relaxed way both of you present it. Stay healthy.
@@billy5179 love cruising the cut and slim too 👍
I found Cruising the Cut via Slim, two of the best channels on the tube.
@@billy5179 Small world, I’ve been a fan of SP and David @ Cruisingthecut for years.
CTC and Slim need to get together for a collab!
Glad you are back. Your sorrow is palpable. Your ability to appreciate and share the nature around you is a healing gift to us as well.
Went through my own personal hell in 2020. Glad to see you surived yours. You will heal as you get back on the road.
My condolences for your loss Slim.🙏
Me and my pal have been worried about you. Welcome back pardner!🤠👍
Slim, I can only echo the previous posters. I sense your loss, your pain, and, thankfully, a hint of beginning to come to terms with the difficult thing(s) you recently experienced. I wish you peace and healing. Please know your videos have helped some of us heal from things we've experienced too. You inspire and, in your quiet way, give us hope for the better...
Happy to see you back! I was just wondering about you yesterday! I like the map you’ve got on your closet door and the new fridge looks great. Still watching! Happy spring! -e
Thanks Guys! SP
Wow two for the price of one! Hi Elsa and Rhae....you both are my two favorite channels. Happy Trails 😎
Hi from Brisbane Guys, i love your videos as well as Slims, your are beautiful people like Slim, we need more of your class of people on this earth
I’m always stressing out about having our weekly video out (even if I’m not feeling well). But you know what? I just learned something watching this video, people are willing to wait till you’re ready. Thank you for the “advice” Slim! For now on I’ll focus 100% on the joy of making videos and not on the deadlines. 👍😀
Marcelo
I follow your channel as well...excited for the new chapter with being land owners
missed you and your ability to be a hermit who is interested in life and survival.
I’m always glad to see your videos, but you taking a break from weekly releases is no problem for me. Sorry for your loss Slim. I consider you a friend even though we really don’t know each other. But the pain is evident in your voice and actions. There are a lot of your fans out here who can relate and can understand the pain. The best of luck to you as always Slim. Treasure the memories.
That reply wasn't proper I had a major stroke and I lost my job and a house hasn't been wiped out because this s*** from the old burner and it's presently been gutted and we've been living in a hotel for the last 2 months so our life has been very good made me either I wish everybody a great year hopefully always will get better hopefully I'll get the use of my left arm again at least I'm walking now I couldn't even walk after the stroke but I am now so is my wife says there's always yeah things will get better for us I hope
I am so sorry for your loss my friend.
Slim I feel for you. It should be of some comfort that there are literally people from around the world that missed you and care for you. In that respect you are very blessed. I hope things get better
One of my fav YT channels. Your narrative style is classic storytelling and is a lost art…and a gift! Post when you can, and feel like it. We’ll be here to enjoy your chronicles while we’re enjoying a cold beer alongside you.
That sounds like a good slogan : "enjoy life, enjoy the wilderness, enjoy camping and enjoy a good beer"! 😂
So very glad to have you back Slim. I honestly was growing concerned and even checked to see if I had missed a notification. So sorry for your loss. Take good care. Travel safe.
I missed you. Thanks for posting again. There is really nobody else who captures camping like you do.
Love from India .... God bless people all around the world.....
We pray for India...
Love from U.S. Our prayers are with you.
I recognize the pain in your voice. Good to see you return and putting one foot in front of the other.
Hi Slim - As you said at the end of this video 'enjoy life' - as it honors those that will 'forever be in our hearts' - I see it in your eyes...Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for coming back to us. Please try not to stay away so long next time, even if it’s just a video having a beer 🍺. God bless you. 🙏🏼You were truly missed. 😊
Don't worry slim none of us are going anywhere we understand that you can't go out like you want to it'll be okay
Thank you for returning and I hope you find somewhere that will ease your heart and your migraines. Hugs and my kindest thoughts sent your way.
Slim, it’s obvious that you’re struggling a bit with some significant, though necessary, changes. Wishing you well, wherever you land. Know that we’ll be happy to see you when we see you.
I finished this video and it was done in true Slim Potatohead fashion. Nature and redos to parts of the camper and/or equipment. Very enjoyable. Check in when you can Slim. We will be hanging around somewhere. You have been missed but real life can take precedence sometimes.
Missed you, Slim! Sometimes life barges into the things we love. Glad to see you edged your way past the worst of it. Enjoy the birds!
"However, there's still a sunset". That really hit home for me. I have been fortunate to live & work in a rural area these past few years and the thing that has kept me on an even keel is being able to watch nature never miss its usual beat. The fact that all the seasons and their normal happenings come and go right on time is comforting during these uncertain times.
Hi, Slim, I too have lived with migraine and at 50 years old the headaches were gone, now I just get them now when it’s going to rain, glad to see that you are going out and still enjoy your wonderful adventures, be safe, 🥰🇨🇦😷
We missed you Slim. We have always enjoyed watching you. We care and your personal business is your own. Know we all are hoping you find some peace and take care.
A wise man (who would be 115 now) once told me that the best way to honor those that move on ahead of us, is to enjoy the things that they left behind. So, appreciate the sunrise, the wind, and the rain. The stars are something that we all can share.
Thanks for being an advocate of outdoor activity and an inspiration to those of us lucky enough to have camping capability. I hope you find solace in your travels and a new life in a location that gives you the joy you had in Calgary without the medical complications.
We were happy to see you back. So very sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Take care. Your viewers/friends in Michigan.
We were very concerned and GLAD to see you back. "may the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back"
Enjoy your travels and keep safe!
Missed you Slim. I'll admit I was getting worried for you. I'm sorry for your loss. Just know that your youtube family are with you through thick and thin!
I Love those redwing blackbirds and the others who are singing their praises to Life!
You have been missed and so glad that you are back. Blessing to Vicki...may she rest in peace
Welcome back Slim! You’ve certainly been missed! I hope your healing will continue as you begin to travel. Our hearts and thoughts will remain with you as you capture those sunrises and sunsets 🌞
🎉👍🏻🙏 GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK AT IT. 🙏🙏 I'M PRAYING FOR CANADA AND YOU🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇺🇲🇺🇲

The wild birds know… you cannot keep anything from them , and they tell EVERYBODY your woes… but most of us cannot understand the details… a good thing, perhaps…
We greatly appreciate your time & efforts to share a small part of your adventures with us !
Hope you have many happy & safe travels ahead…
Welcome back Slim! So sorry for your pain. My experience has been we never lose the pain, just learn to live with it. Sending you strength to survive this hard time. Waiting for new installments on your journey thru life! Your tube family cares.
Yes, you are exactly right. The pain is never gone and it doesn't get easier, it just becomes a tad more tolerable.
It is alright to take time off when you need to. Your videos are worth the wait.
The return of SP makes my Sunday morning a lot more pleasant. Watching SP's nature shots and listening to the birds sing is always a great way to spend my time.
As a fellow Albertan, I really appreciate your videos. I just loved you video of the red winged black birds and the treat of seeing the yellow headed blackbirds. We lived in Manitoba for 10 years and were quite close to a series of ponds and marsh. It sure brought me back there! Plus the frogs in the background! I appreciate what you put into your videos. They are a real breath of fresh air. Thank you.
Glad to see you back. We missed you. You have a right to take as much time as you need!
Glad to see you back , sorry for your loss .
Glad to have you back, Slim. Do not know what happened to you, but my best wishes for you.
This was a beautiful meditative video, well pleasing. Though I sense of comes from a place of loss of sorrow. Peace be with you.
Glad to see you back but sorry you are hurting. Time does heal all wounds but a broken heart takes longer. You need to take care of yourself so take the time to do it, we'll still be here for you. Safe and healthy travels.
I really loved the relaxed moment of just hanging out at the camper. Plenty of room for what you need.
Welcome Back !!!!!!!!!
My sincerest condolences on your loss... Doc...
There are sunsets.... but with each sunset there is a sunrise as well....
I missed seeing your videos and glad to see a new one. However I see things are not the same for you. Taking time to take care of yourself is probably the best thing you can do. So until next time......
Slim, my heart goes out to you. ❤️
Great to see your back my friend 👍
What is so special about Slims back?
I prefer his front to be honest.
@@WilliamFisher1 very good William

Nice video Slim...thanks for sharing on the back-up cam! I'm doing some work on my trailer before heading out on a long epic trip later this week.!
It's kind of hard to believe but a few years ago I found your channel while shopping for a trailer for retirement....present time I've got my trailer now, had it out on a few long shake-out runs.... and I'm finally retired and ready to go on my first long adventure!!! Wish me safe travels! Thanks so much Slim for all I've learned from watching your videos the past few years...it will help me immensely on the road ahead...
SLIM!!!!!!!!! Glad you’re back brotha! We missed ya!
Slim, I see your distress and it’s none of our business... but I feel for you! I’ve been there, maybe not exactly but life is full of the unexpected and unwanted and yet it goes on and as you said the sun ‘sets’ and I agree lets enjoy it ... life is for the living- might as well enjoy the ride - those gone wouldn’t want it any other way! Be well!
Ohhhh so good to see ya back @SlimPotatohead. Wasn't sure if we needed to raise some bail $$$ or break you out of the looney bin (even though the white huggy coat is kinda comfy till you have an itch).
Time hasn't been easy on many of us lately & we're All Glad on this update. Take care of Yourself Slim & as you can tell there's a lot of us that enjoy what you do & will wait as long as it takes for your next vid to drop.
ps
Here's a long distance Hug if ya want one & here's another one even if you don't.
Glad you are back. Going through a loss is never easy, hopefully getting back to nature will help. Safe travels and keep on moving.
Lots of love to you. Thank you.
Sorry for your lost Slim . Missed you !
Glad you are back - UA-cam is not the same when you are not here posting a video - Your videos are so well produced and interesting. Thank you for just being YOU - you are awesome.....Wisconsin Dave Loves You
Glad to see you back. You were missed and your absence was even talked about on another channel. I hope you find places to go and are able to share them with us. Take care, Slim.
We love those lawn chairs very, very strong !
We will be here when you are ready to share. Always enjoy your camp videos and great sense of humor.
I was born in Calgary, such a beautiful city. The chinooks, ah the chinooks... Calgary has changed a lot since the 90s when I lived there. Wherever you go Slim we will be with you! Love and respect to Vicki
So happy to see you back Slim. Our hearts are with you at your time of loss. By the way you look particularly good in the colour gray.
He just floats back-and-forth running his beak wow pretty cute a lot of good bird footage you go to the right places Those squirrels are very cute. We feed the squirrels here at the house and now we got for over a week a rooster that cock-a-doodle-doo every morning all the neighbors around we laughing kid about him. He’s quite a big rooster too. I guess he’s gonna hang around I don’t know.
Thanks for sharing, I live in mine full time . You inspire me . Thanks
You need to make a tray on drawer slides for your new fridge.
Yes, it looked a bit hard to get the fridge out, but Slim usually modify things to optimize their function, so I guess he will with this too
He’s back baby!!!
Life is short, and precious. Make do the best you can and lead the life that your heart wants.
Finally got a week away with our caravan after 18 months. Didn't realise how much I missed it.
Always enjoy your videos and hope your life will get back to some sort of peace for you .
So sorry for your loss 😔.
Glad to see you back, Slim. We missed you and your wonderful videos.
Great to see Back.....
A fella thinks that a couple caster wheels on those outside bottom corners of your new fridge would help it slide out smoother and keep it level while it's out. My wife has migraines as well, so I hope you can find relief soon. Thanks for your pleasant videos and disposition. You make me smile every time!
Glad you are back, Slim. Missed you.
Slimmy's back! Greetings from the beer country, Czech Republic. Good to have you back, we all have missed your videos. Just keep posting; shorter videos, trailer enhancements, whatever you do we will watch and enjoy. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
I love this. So calming, I feel right at home. The birds sounds could put me asleep. Nice veido. We can all heal together. What a wonderful way to do it. Be at peace my friend.
Good job on the bird calls very interesting. They sound like they’re pretty happy.
Happy to see you’re back and doing well. Many of us were genuinely concerned. You are much loved and appreciated. Best wishes to you Slim.
We often need to just take time to spend doing the things that make us feel good. Weather its spending valued time with loved ones or just spending time with nature, it's all important and we just need to be thankful to be able to do that when we can.
Slim, The birds were beautiful! I’m going to pray those migraines away for you!✝️🙏🏻✝️
I enjoy your videos.I live in Yelm,Wa.I can have one boondocker at a time.
Hi Slim.... Nice to see you back. Things may seem a little grey right now so I wanted to let you know how you've helped us out albeit unknowingly. Two years ago we embarked on an American Road trip and I have to say we were definitely a little nervous before starting out (we have quite a skewed vision of the States in Britain) but your videos put our minds at rest and 9,000 miles later we realised we'd had the time of our lives. Since then we've been building our own narrowboat and getting inspiration from your hacks... Every time we need to adapt something we think What would Slim do? (we've mentioned in our vlogs when an idea came from you) So, I just thought it might be a good time to let you know how helpful you've been ☺️. Thank you...
Missed you Slim. Glad your back.
Glad to see you back! My road noise story: I once camped at a KOA just over the line into Quebec off the 401 (a major 4 lane freeway...). Drove a mile away from the freeway, thinking it would be quiet, turned left, drove a mile, turned left again and drove 2/3 of a mile back toward the freeway to get to the KOA...the road noise was okay, I was used to that. But a few minutes before 5am there were two approaching trains on the mainline just the other side of the freeway. I knew they were on separate tracks but they kept blowing their horns for a crossing, alternating...between the doppler shift of the sound, and the increasing loudness of the horns, it just seemed like they were going to hit head on and kept blowing for the other one to get out of the way...being half asleep is good for this sort of thing, except by the time they met (and did NOT crash into each other!). I was no longer asleep what-so-ever. I packed up and was on the road before 5:30...Good times! {!-{>
have a nice day Slim.
