    Thanks as always, James.
We finally have our Ioniq 5. What a machine! We went for the RWD version to maximise range. After last charge it was showing 301 miles range (with air con off) which for a fairly large car is just incredible!

That’s awesome I'm sure it'll do that and more. If I wasn't so impatient I most likely would have gone for a RWD also for the efficiency

Thanks James. It's a bit of a bind that you cannot save your screen settings as a user profile which is recallable after an update.

@@LemonTeaLeaf The best but was that Android auto is so much better on the display, also the auto light/dark on the display works a treat

Hmm just got a 2023 ioniq and I don't have an option for OTA updates. It says 1 is available but hitting the update button says its looking for a device with the update.

I found from other owners that even though they got a newer car than me they still had the original firmware when my first edition was released, they don't always have the latest firmware. Maybe best to apply the first update manually via the USB and grab the software from Hyundai. I have a video on how you can do this here: ua-cam.com/video/bKby2Esd__s/v-deo.html hopefully that will kickstart the next OTA?

Was there an option to download it to a USB stick from a computer? That might make the download quicker. My Ioniq ( an original one) updates that way

Yes they have a manual update via USB, but the OTA is a nice option if you don't have time to do it manually yourself.

I'm not sure but you can check the software version under general and settings if it shows up like mine with a greyed out update button and is higher vers number 220211 then it has it. I have another video showing how to update to the OTA update version 220211.

@@paulmellish9785 that's 23/8/2021 (210823) which is the oringal version I had with my car. You can ask the dealer to update it for you or install it yourself manually to get an OTA version, so any future update will be OTA.
Here's the video I made on how to install that yourself:

It might also explain why my car came with HDA 2 while others had HDA 1.5 i but i also got the original software on mine as well.

There was some confusion (in my mind at least) about the updates. On 30th May, I downloaded what I thought was the most recent update dated "May" (3 hours!) and transferred it to the car, expecting it to tell me that OTA updates would now be available, but that didn't happen. I read more articles, watched more UA-cam videos, still nothing, so I got a bit worried that somehow I was missing out on the OTA... I'm in Iceland and someone had told me that they had an OTA update In July, so I went back to the Hyundai update page and saw an update dated April, so I thought what the heck, I'll download that - (another three hours) and transferred it to the car and lo and behold! It now says "OTA available". Very odd. The update page from Hyundai is not very clear. Glad to see yours finally went well...let's hope Hyundai gets things better under control for the updates, it can't be that difficult, can it?

That is odd. Good to hear you have it now. At least you can let the car download it in the background in future without worrying or wasting another 3 hours of your life 😂

I seem to have lost the speed camera warning on the HUD with this update.
