It’s a shame that you can’t really find them anywhere anymore, no one really bred them and they were mostly wild caught, so when the imports dried up and stopped coming in, they suddenly became super hard to find
I just want to say that I love the care, patience, empathy, and love you have for your creepy crawlies. It's because of your content that I've become so much more comfortable with spiders and have worked through a lot of my fear.

While living in Phoenix for a year, I had to use a blacklight any time I got up in the middle of the night. I checked my bed before getting in and I checked my shoes and shook my clothes prior to wearing. That being said, I lived in a brand new home and never saw ONE (including outside). My neighbors; however, could not say the same. Their home(s) were built on a burrowed highway and they had their fair share of "visitors". eeeeeeeekkkkk.

The UV light is cool, but don't get carried away.. I use it to check on mine when I wanna see if they're out and about, and sometimes even if there's just a bit of leg visible through a gap near their hiding place they'll move it away after a short while. Pretty sure it doesn't "hurt" them lol just annoys them. I'm sure you know, but might be someone else reading who doesn't. 😅
Also "air plants" are a fantastic idea!! I use em, and they do great! Got em glued to a couple small rocks so I can take em out once a month or so and give em a dip, let em dry then put back. Also got a few small Arizona Snowcap cacti growing too, just have a small area of sand mixed with organic cacti soil mix, and water them roughly each month with a syringe around their base. Slow growers but doing fine, and really adds to the environment.

I’m so incredibly jealous! I’ve been trying to find one of those for my collection for more than a decade now. They never seem to be available when I can afford one. They’re such a cool species, and (if I remember correctly) are one of the longest living scorpion species.
Since it's a desert species, i imagine that when you where holding her... complete silence... then a chaparral stumbled thru... and than a cricket chirping... that was awkward... but cute!
I know the _Hadrurus arizonensis,_ or desert hairy scorpion, can be cohab’ed with blue death feigning beetles, might be an interesting experiment to cohab some with your adult flat rock scorpion. They act as a cleanup crew.
As for a name for your scorpling, I’ll ask my brother-in-law if he has any suggestions; he’s South African, and might have a cool Afrikaans name. I just have to wait until it’s a decent hour for him to give him a call (he lives in Cape Town).
Also, have you heard _Panic! At The Disco_ is disbanding after their current European / UK tour?

That enclosure is exactly what I need for my gbb once they grow a little. Too arboreal for top openings, but not too tall so I can keep it safe enough.

Scorpion name: Morticia (female) or Gomez (male).... You already have a Wednesday! (You need a Pugsley, Pubert, Lurch, Fester, Cousin It...... can you tell I adore Addams Family?.... plus, Wednesday had a pet scorpion, in the newest incarnation!)

I really like the color of that sand! I don't think I would ever keep a scorpion because I'm not particularly interested in them, but I'd love to see one in person.
I just went down a rabbit whole of what it takes to define a cube and found that I now believe that the 3d representation of a rectangle should be referred to as a cuboid. And that that is ok. It can be named other things but it isn't necessary 😂

Take the air plant out every now and then and totally soak it in water and it will be fine
I looked up African flower names so these are suggestions for a name for the smaller scorpion. Moraea, Spathodea campanulata “Spath”, Gloriosa Superba “Gloriosa”.

you've somehow managed to spark a love in me for scorpions which i didn't know i had! through a couple of your scorpion videos i've realized that i'm not afraid of them at all for some reason which is kind of odd since i am still quite afraid of spiders and tarantulas (tho your videos have helped tons with that). now i'm really considering getting my first scorpion! loved the video :D

I knew an American in West Africa, think it was Liberia, who was a venom guy. He had cobra's, vipers, adders, those scorpions, and pet pythons or boas. They milk those scorpions! Good times. Lots of money in venom

Loved seeing your scorpions. I have wanted one since I was a teenager and finally got my first one, an Asian forest scorpion, a few weeks ago and I am in love. I may have to look into getting an African flat rock now lol. Not sure if my bf will go for that. I had to do a lot of persuating for the one I have lol. Sadly, I'm gonna have to miss out on the plushie :( . Sadly, each time one gets released, we end up having unexpected bills so they get gone before I can order. Maybe one day I'll be able to get one. As always, awesome video.
