My Avic Avic will ONLY eat if I tong feed. She also has a very fast and violent feeding response. Which has led her to jumping out of her enclosure on to my wifes arm... which is now why I am the newly appointed Avic feeder guy🤣

the plant with the avic avic is a baby rubber tree, Peperomia obtusifolia
The plant at 8:27 is a Peperomia obtusifolia, common name baby rubber plant. :)

You and Mr. Richard from The Tarantula Collective helped me a lot with my arachnophobia! In a few days, it’ll have been a year since I decided, for my birthday, I’d get my first tarantula to exposure-therapy myself-I got the idea after watching you guys fawn over your tarantulas and talk about how pretty they were, and did massive amounts of research on tarantulas, their care, and body language. I got a G. Pulchripes sling 1/2 an inch long in a St. Paddy’s deal, named them Leprechaun, and observed them try to dig a hole to the center of the earth in their little enclosure. I rehoused them recently by poking them out of their burrow, and seeing them fully out for the first time since I’d gotten them, how they’d more than doubled in size over the course of the year, how they moved, and in general just how peaceful they were so long as I was gentle really made me realize I’d fallen in love with the little fella as if they were one of my non arachnid pets. They weren’t a therapy experiment anymore, but one of my babies. So much so, that this year, I got four more slings-a P. Irminia, who is a little gentleman with a touch of anxiety, but is super calm so long as I’m gentle and knock on the enclosure before opening it, a C. Portoricae who is just so incredibly smol, an A. Geniculata who is never not hungry, and a Davus sp. Panama who was pretty expensive but totally worth it for the colors and gentle disposition!
And this is one of the only two forums I’m in where I can easily find appreciation for tarantulas, so here I am because my irl friends are a little less than enthusiastic about my children 😅

You have such beautiful Ts. They always look so healthy. I love horn work feedings. The contrast of the bright green against the substrate and Ts makes an awesome feeding video. Also love your jammies!!! I'm definitely getting some. I just got a new puppy (his name is Biscuit) so I think I need a set in the pink 💗 Lots of love from Oregon.

I actually have a screenshot of last time you tried to feed a gummy worm to your wolf spider. She looks genuinly terrified while clinging to her enclosure wall, I imagine her eyes screaming "get me outta here!". It's so cute and funny. She stayed true to herself in this vid.😂

Does it ever trigger anyone when Kat takes the sprayer off to pour the water? I keep a separate water bottle with my sprayer, her way is probably more efficient. It's better to keep the sprayer bottle empty between uses, so it doesn't get algae and build up. Everyone can do their own way and my trigger is just my psychological hang-ups and that's it.

My male A. hentzi does something kinda similar. he has a half wood round that he has his little den in, along with a small decorative skull. he will dig out the sides of the wood half round and then push all the substrate a little past the front of the half wood round. so theres just a giant, slightly webbed up mound of substrate. it is incredibly rare to see him out of his den. he does eat, i just never see it lol.
Cool feeding of the t's... The horn worms over in the UK are called death head hawk moth larvae.. Yep a mouthful lol.

My very first T was an A. geniculata. Her name is Geralt (thought it was a boy) and I love her so much. She is my favourite, so spicy 😍

Lol I have a fully grown T albo and she WILL not have gummy worms. She is terrified of them and I've tried feeding them so many times before and after molts and she eat them when she was a lot smaller but now its NO WAY. My adult female Avicularia is the same, she swats them away and runs and hides from them. She also ate them when she was smaller. My sub adult Avicularia (peru purps) will eat ANY size gummy worm and is an absolute worm destroyer. Cats man. They are cats.
I have yet to feed my t's these little blue guys but you have made me so excited to see what ones will be brave or not😊

Some spoods probably avoid those worms because they feed on plants like tomato and tobacco, which contain compounds toxic to spiders.
I'm watching from England. I love your channel,I'm just a novice Tarantula keeper at 52 years old. I don't know the full on proper names for my T's but I have 13 altogether. I had fancied a tarantula for a long time and was watching your channel and so i bit the bullet and got 1 then 3 more then 6 then my last 3 making it 13,I have Blu,Hodder,Mother Malkin,Venom,Chilli,Ruby,First Born,Wednesday,Pumpkin,Hornswoggle,Ghost,Mochi and Garfield. I've sadly just lost my jumping spider who was called Luca. but I am going to get another as they are such fun as are all my T's. I so wish I could buy the gummy worms over here in England but I've found no sellers at all.
Night time feedings are my favorite, but I love all your videos so much, They take my mind off my troubles.
My Aphonopelma chalcodes sealed off her burrow with dirt, and has been down there over a month. I dont smell anything rotten, but starting to worry about her.😂

lol I’m glad I watched this video I just got my first tarantula a pink toe and she wouldn’t eat of the tongs so I put her in the cup put the cricket in there and she ate it . I still have a lot to learn

In an old video you said not to have scented candles when owning a tarantula this might sound stupid but I'd rather be safe then sorry but can you have a scented candle if the spider is kept upstairs in a room and the candle is down the stairs?
How do you keep track of who you’ve fed & when etc, & do you keep notes for like when they don’t eat or starting to malt etc.

I NEED HELP! my baby jumper is wild caught and it isn’t eating the fruit flies I am giving it. I thought it might be because it just wasn’t hungry cause it was killing the fruit flies but not eating them, but it’s abdomen looks quite small and I am misting it’s cage every 1-2 days. Is it because it is just not a good spood for captivity? What should I do???
Edit: About five minutes after commenting this, lil dude ate a fly :D I may have been dramatic, but he didn’t eat in two days so I was a bit worried 😅
