It looks like your little jumping spider house has ears or antennas. Cat you're the most devoted jumping spider Enthusiast I've ever watched. You are just phenomenal with the love and the care and concern that you have for these precious little arachnids. It's a pleasure to watch.
I bought a mature male red rump last year as my slings are taking a long time to mature out and as a new tarantula owner at the time I really wanted a mature one just to have while I wait for my little ones to get a bit bigger. I still have him and he is still out and about. I feel bad for him because I never wanted to breed and just let him live out his days but I do wish I had sent him to a breeder. He is super chill tho and glad I got him.

I feel called out. Fiancee and I literally bought unplanned spiders for V day, that arrived on V day. Turbish and Mertz came from Tom Patterson (shoutout). My first ever, we are so excited! Each have eaten a cricket or 2 so far. TY Kat! Without your videos and encouragement I never would have made the jump from dog-owner to spider lover.

Do you have any tips for what to do with jumping spider babies? I got a gravid female and she has had 250+ babies over three egg sacs one right after another. No idea what to do with them all. I can’t keep that many adult spiders 😅
I usually find a few people locally to take them 😅
If you have the right environment let them free outside. I have tons of wild jumping spiders living on/near my house here in CA.
Do you only feed your baby Jumpers flightless fruit flies? Also do you recommend a place to get some online?
So when it comes to the species of tarantulas that some times the females are known to kill and devour the mate directly after he is finished. Are those males usually already nervous from the very beginning of things, Do you think they are aware of the huge risk and danger they are in the whole entire time? Or do you think the females completely use the situation to there advantage and catch them unsuspectingly and out of nowhere? Ive just always wondered this.

I've been watching you for a while now. And let me tell you, that in itself is a feat. I never had a huge fear of spiders until I was 8 months pregnant with my son, and our friend got drunk on his birthday. His present was a beautiful rose hair. Where it went south, was he pinned me in a corner trying to get me to hold her. I broke down, and had a panic attack that landed me in the hospital. Afterwards, the word spider would throw me into a fit. But I slowly started watching around the same time I started watching Ants Canada. I would start with just a few minutes. Now, I can watch multiple videos of yours, and appreciate your babies for their beauty. Thank you for helping me reclaim my love of gorgeous critters!

Better not to poke but push and never leave the brush from him. If you poke they wil turn around. If you push and let the brush on the legs or body, they will move in the right direction. Good videos about pairing tarantulas and other spiders... Dave's little beastieroom. He is a very good teacher and does it his whole life. Works at a zoo. So perhaps you could check on it...

@@tarantulakat I live in Vermont so going to st Louis is out of the question for me. I had a jumping spider... It was my first one... And one day I opened it's enclosure and it unexpectedly jumped out and crawled between my stove and my counter and I haven't seen him since I'm just soooo sad😢😢
@@tarantulakat I wrote this comment yesterday and I am a medical assistant at a doctor's office and I came into work today and walked it to one of the rooms and there was a jumping spider on the wall so I caught it and I kept it.

You could use the word insemination or inseminating... that is what most breeders use...
If you ever manage to get Pikachu to breed will you be selling the babies? G. pulchripes is the tarantula species I plan to get at some point so I would love to get one from the tarantula that is the reason I want one in the first place :D
