The guys are blowing the roof off the place despite the fact they're playing to a crowd of about 30 in a brightly lit television studio. And never mind the fact that they've been doing this five decades and still find the emotion and talent to sound like a vibrant bunch of post-teens with something to prove. Los Lobos always runs under the radar and they're always worth listening to.
One of my favorite bands for the last 50 years, phenomenal musicians. I saw them at their 40th, so good live. The ultimate road warriors, may they tour forever.
I was a uni student in Sydney Australia in the 80's when I first heard Los Lobos. I bought the vinyl of 'Will the wolf survive'. One of my favourite albums to this day. Evey song a classic. I've followed them on and off for pretty much 30 years. These guys have aged, as have I, but this stuff is timeless.
Los Lobos has always been the best! I got lucky enough to see them in East LA this year along with Tropa Magica at The Paramount. Such a wonderful time! Much love to yall
Thank you for hosting this delightful performance. I didn't realize that Los Lobos had been together for this long! Or maybe I've been alive longer than I thought 😂
The Homies look pretty dang good for their age. Rule of thumb at a Los Lobos show EVERYONE STAND AND DANCE WITH EACH OTHER. We’re all friends here! God Bless the Wolves and safe travels.
Could mention the usual pablum about great American music being the Dead, the Band, the Allman Bros, and now carrying on the great Los Lobos.....but I won't. Oh god how I love this fucking band.
Yeah, saw them as part of this 50-year deal; back here in the East (Northeast, to be exact). Only bummer, Conrad wasn't there that night; they had a fill-in. Agree as well about great American music, even though I'd re-order that 2,3,1; but indeed they are "carrying on". I'd argue TTB, Larkin Poe, Marcus King also.
it was in cologne in the second half of the 80s when i almost got into a fight because i didn't agree with an idiotically loud conversation behind me at the los lobos concert and asked people to leave. they would have liked to leave with me, but it wasn't meant that way
Furthermore, all due respect to KCRW and what they do, but "norteno-punks"?.........don't think so. And I was worrying about Conrad.....usually a big grin whole set......finally smiling for La Bamba medley. Happy to see Cesar still throwing in the Lawrence Welk reference...."thank you music lovers." Think I have to go cross country to see them on their own bill. Out here in N. Carolina only on festival shows, whole lot of bands, short sets...not the same as X-Mass at the Fillmore.
LL started playing in LA with the Blasters, X, and Dwight and they were all considered part of the LA punk scene, which you may not have known much about in North Carolina. As for norteno, this is spot on - look it up.
@@BadExample65 only been In N Carolina a few years. A former New Yorker than a decade in California outside Oakland. Seen the Wolves opening for the Blasters a few times also a bunch of shows at the Filllmore. All I'm saying is I know they do 3 or 4 norteno tunes a set, but there is nothing punk about their other music. A lot of great rock and blues and everything else.

Their love of music and each other makes them unique.
LOS LOBOS SHOULD BE IN the
*ROCK 'N ROLL HALL OF FAME*
That's for rappers. Get with the times.
Wait, they're not??! I honestly just assumed they were. Wow.
@@frank6077 Did you forget that the ROCK and ROLL Hall of Fame is for rappers now?
@@CooManTunes Just checked this years newest inductees, only 1/8 rap. So, I'm not sure if that's accurate.
@@frank6077 So, I'm right. It's for rappers now. Next. I guess the Rap Hall of Fame is filled up.
This band is a treasure. Wish them many more years of creating and performing music together 🙏🏽
Simon~~These vatos go back anos~~
The absolutely best true Americana band . No fear playing any music (except Jazz). Anything from all the Americas.

I don't feel so bad about getting old after watching this.
Cumbia! What a great band! Plus the La Bamba>Good Lovin'>La Bamba sandwich, which the Dead also did!

Great drummer 🥁
歴代最高のドラマーになったのかな?リズムとキレが素晴らしく、ロスロボスの実力をいかんなく発揮させてる、どこにいた人なんだろう?

Молодцы! ;)
Los lobos still shakin n shakin n shake 👍☮️
The great voice of David Hidalgo.
Fell in love with them as a teenager in the early 80s. They look so old now. (Looks in the mirror) Sigh.
but they have still got it! 😀
Holy schnikes!!!
