Ok I have an idea, in the first half of the video, show us the slick shots of the product without the skin and the other half with the skin so you can still get the sponsorship.
It is sent to them from dbrand. Dbrand buys the Apple products, applies the skin, then sends it to LMG. So they don't ever have it without the skin. An iPad with 2007 bezels
Other than it isn't a touch screen. So not an iPad at all..
@@TheOriginalNCDV It is the brand new feature! They remove 3D touch on the iPhone and now they remove touch completly from the iPad. Also the stand is under 500USD
Me anticipating another piece of footage to add to the Linus Drops things No. 2.

Of course you know he's gonna drop it off to Mac address
This was only a year ago??? Feels like 3 years
My main monitor is 27", previously upgraded from 24". Honestly I think these two sizes are the best in size to desk space utilization. Going up to 32" and above just seems excessive for a literal desktop display.
32" is too much i agree
not when its ultra wide, love it for productivity
@Filip Jovanovic yes, ultrawides commonly are 21:9 (mostly 1440px in height). I don't like 4K 28" for productivity since in a 2x2 grid 4x14" 1080p monitors are just too small for me to work with and in a 2x1 the windows are very narrow. with ultrawide I really like that I can have two ~square windows (1720x1440) besides each other or 3 narrow ones.
I can also recommend curved ultrawide, I don't have too move my head around much.
I agreed with this, until I went with a 34 inch ultra wide.
Going back to literally anything else is difficult. Being in school, I couldn’t tell you the last time I didn’t have 2 applications running and being able to have word, and a browser open, or an IDE and a browser open is amazing.
Most positive Linus hosted Apple video I’ve seen in a bit. I know he’s emphasized he doesn’t *hate* Apple but still more positive than normal
He did use lots of hidden sarcasm though 😂
Its usually negative cause it usually sucks in alot of ways lol
Yeah, finally feels like he stopped catering to edgy 14 year old kids who think hating apple is cool
@@cybercery5271 lol wut
Almost certainly because if he criticised it, Apple would throw a strop and stop sending him stuff or talking to him at all. They're rather like that...
1:00 Yes, realy thin... very very important for apple company..... now I can carry it around in my briefcase like it was made for that.
3:07 “That’s… the kind of interruption to my work day that *I need* in my life. -__- ” LMFAO
So true XD
I had a wireless mouse (w/ integrated battery) and having to plug the charging cable in annoyed the hell of me, even though it was still usable.
I mean, you don't buy a wireless mouse, just to use it on a cable while it's charging, right?
But needing a backup mouse or having to take a break that's longer than it would take to swap a battery that's even worse, that's a failed design, imo! 😂😂😂
@@LRM12o8 or you can plug it in when you stop using your computer and never have to worry about the battery while working…

Little does everyone know, that stand is $999 of the imacs price
Us being amazed of "dark mode" would define these recent years.
The thing is: Linus cheated when he got the dark skinned iMac when everyone else had a light themed one
Surely this isnt another one of those "itll run faster" jokes in this day and age

0:42 "Boxes were harmed in the making of this video."
Oh no, not my precious apple boxes
My heart almost stopped there, Where Linus started playing with it like a ball
I work in IT and I was wheeling one of these to an office in another building. When I was exiting the first building, there was a dip and the front wheels of the cart dropped down and the iMac started quickly rolling forward. My heart fucking dropped and I managed to catch it. I cannot imagine how I’d feel if it rolled all the way off and hit the ground
Imagine only having the option to select the color and not even that with dbrand :p
The charging port location is the absolute least of the problem with the Magic Mouse

Next iMac: We could not fit the headphone jack sadly, therefore we removed it
I can't tell if Linus was being sarcastic or serious in the whole video.
same here
The beginning was full sarcasm then some sarcasm here and there. Not the whole video.
Yes
Linus was being; What is this shit! 🤣
I actually hate the skin. It looks like grandma’s paisley
Also; I love this new sarcastic linus. Great.
could've gone way better if it's pure black:P
well if i was using a magic mouse that'd be a perfect excuse for a work break.

Disappointed that Dbrand didn’t put a huge Linus face on the back.
Hmm do you know who @timcookingfood is on twitter?
@@lance_rosal Yep he follows me
That skin totally killed the colorful aesthetic 😭
I didnt like the white bezels so its good
At least the bezels arent white anymore. I would NEED a black skin on this if I were to use it
That looks to be the best iMac 2020. No problematic white bezel, and so rad texture.
EDIT: OKAY, so it was DBrand, not Apple. :(
The mouse is stupid because they've already done it with their late 2000s - early 2010s models with the jack in front.
You can see tons of pics of it without the skin online. So that's really not necessary. Just picture it liking like every other iMac that's been made in the past 20 years. It's silver metal. And since they have 6 other colors, showing the silver one is kind of pointless.
@@xenonram ik, all of them are valid points, but I like LMG cinematography and I wanna see the product, dbrand can send the skin seperately, it's not like they're not supposed to be user applied
I know not everyone likes Apple products but the amount of effort and thought they put into little things like the connectors just makes me smile. When I saw the iPad power plug (UK) with pins that flip out and tuck away together I couldn’t stop playing with it!
Your money went into gimmicky plugs instead of high performance parts.
They put a lot of effort into placing heat pipes that lead nowhere as well.
@@rubiconnn My money also went towards having a laptop with a really good display, keyboard and trackpad too which I still haven’t found a comparable Windows laptop without paying a fortune. By the way I have a gaming PC too so no point lecturing me about performance
@@thenonexistinghero Don’t think they put a lot of effort into that tbh. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Doesn’t mean that they don’t do a really good job of small details though.
@@Kefford666 Just saying that Apple's lack of effort into their products at times jumps out just as much as the effort they put into them. Not to mention their illegal repair policies that our lovely corrupt governments refuse to punish them for.
Fun fact: everyone wants to unclip and clip back the magsafe connector twice for the satisfaction
That's not magsafe.
Also to note, they offer a VESA version as well. Which, I think, when paired with wireless peripherals, is a great option for reception desks or offices with a customer facing situation.
Especially with the Ethernet already in the adapter, that’s one cable to worry about and when the peripherals eventually need to be charged there’s always an iPhone charger around somewhere
@@Frog-ko6uu Yeah the charging thing is so overblown. You can literally just plug it in for like 10 seconds and have enough charge to last until your lunch break, then just plug it in when you leave your desk. It ain't hard. I used a MM for years without it ever interrupting my work.
You can get the stand replaced with a VESA mount, or vice versa after the fact as well through AppleCare and a small fee. In the iFixit teardown you can see the big row of screws holding the stand in.
True Tone is amazing, and I will die on this hill
Genuinely curious, why and what does it do?
@@robinwsc it adapts the screen colour to match your surrounding better. So if you are in a warmly lit place, like an Italian restaurant, you screen will become warmer as well, and not blast you with cold colours. I really like the effect personally.
I agree
The only time I’ve had to turn True Tone off was when I needed to see a color for *exactly* how it is, and that’s pretty rare. I really like it.
don't listen to this dumbo...he just like being negative on apple products
That black wrap looks sick
Love your channels Linus!! You help me stay sane!!!
I just got finished watching a video from Shadiversity about how people confuse Damascus Steel with Folded Steel when in reality they are not the same thing. What are the odds that the next video I watch is Linus confusing the same steels!? Honestly, I would have probably made the same mistake a few hours ago. I'm not upset, just baffled at the serendipity.
Lol oh no!
No problem. As I said, I didn't even know there was a difference until a few hours before. Keep up the great work!
UA-cam algorithm getting really good eh?
Ethernet and power together.
Wow that’s amazing space saving and declutter.
Watching this, all the sudden I was like, "Wait, is someone in the studio watching Timthetatman?"
Yes!! I'm not the only one who noticed.
Same!
Considering that he mentioned Damascus camo from MW seemed to give a hint.
That's the most awful looking dbrand skin ever.
I think it looks good. But I'm a sucker for damascus
Yes
Aaaaaand it costs $500 🤡
So damn ugly that I had to look away everytime they zoomed in
Yeah, I actually think Linus used this skin because he doesn't like Apple lol so the iMac looks less appealing hahaha

"Hey siri, open my documents folder" my iPhone on the desk *awakens*
iphones and macs work really well together, along with apple watches. i have my iphone and watch on, and when i say hey siri only my phone activates because it is louder and better for using siri on. same with macs and iphones, only mac activates
unless, of course, you're using your iphone.
You should probably retrain your voice model, it’s not a smart speaker it should only activate for your voice not anyone in the room. 😅-
So did my HomePod. xD
You have the same voice as Linus?
Dental offices? Pufff!! What does any other business need a small and powerful computer?
Damn Linus did I really just watch a whole sponsor bit without skipping for the first time?
Well... Sometimes you get got
Good lord, has Linus never unboxed an Apple product?!? Totally destroyed the box by not appreciating the engineered packaging!
So much subtle shade in this video you need to rewatch to fully catch it.
The way he opened it gives me chills
oh fucking dbrand again... the silver model is just gorgeous as it is
Linus, I don’t understand your complaints about the Magic Mouse. I mean, the first time I got it I was like, this is nuts! Why can’t I charge and keep working agh!
But in 6 months of owning the M1 Mcbook Air, I’ve charged the mouse once…
And I use it a LOT! I study design, so it’s basically on me all day 🤷🏻♀️
1:11 I think linus likes TimTheTatman's outro music...
I was looking for someone to say this 😂
Thank you I was wondering where that was from lmao.
Bold move from dBrand for that sponsored URL
lol yeah i laughed at ShortLinus
The 8GB variant has absolutely no issue editing Blackmagic RAW 4k video. It's not like 8GB on Windows box or Intel Mac, behaves more like 10-12 at least. Integrated very close to the CPU.
The white bezel of the iMac peeking out through the edge is triggering my OCD
I don't think dbrand has done an excellent job
The one thing i'm definitely envious of is the lack of cable mess.
When the timthetatman outro song started playing I was like what the hell do I have another window open??
Came to the comments just to see if anyone else did this
Lol was just checking the comment section to see it wasn’t just me

I have a friend who does IT work for dental offices, and their front desk machine might be low specced like you mention but they have to have a beast for their xray machine. Xeon, 64gb of ram, 10 gigabit ethernet, and a quadro are pretty much the standard faire.

@@BOOFSIDEPINS Not sure what software y'all are using. I was referring to new installs but they had X-rays back in 2002, I'm sure many a cheap dentist will try to hold off on upgrading as long as humanly possible.
