    I was do happy to find this in stores and scooped it up because love Cerave products and use them daily but this didn't work great for me or I'll have to use it when I think i need it only, Inkey list felt a little better to me...TY 🙏🏽

      @@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Because I use the foaming daily, I thought the acne would be the same but I do not have super oily skin..it made my skin irritated and I saw more breakouts..purging maybe? The inkey list was a little milder but again, I would use the inkey list when I felt my skin needed it. For some reason with the Cerave acne I was trying to use it every night and didn't need to. It was my fault...TY 😁

      Sorry for the late reply, but I did not see your answer. It could be purging, yes, since the skin always needs to adjust to the product, which can take a while, so it can happen if the formulation is different. I often have it because I try so many products.

    Hey Melissa, I have a question, If I would like to use this product (CeraVE Acne Control Cleanser) twice a day to wash my face can I also use Paulas Choice 2% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid Exfoliant? Or will that be to much salicylic acid. or is it ok if I only use the cleanser once a day? Basically I want to use both products but I don't know if it will be bad for me and how much of each etc etc

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  2 роки тому +2

      Hello Ezzy,
      Technically you can. Practically, it can become very dry over time and then you may need to adjust the routine. My advice is to alternate in the beginning and try to use them together after a while. (that worked well for me) But as a general guide, you can say the more drying products you use in the routine, the more likely it is that you will experience irritation at some point. So you need to rebalance it with another moisturizer. But I think that is not the point 🤪

    Hii Melissa, I want to start using the acne control cleanser because suddenly breaks outs appear very often in my face and I cannot keep it without acne for a long time, but my question is, it has to be a for-life daily cleanser or when i see that my acne is disappearing i stop using it or can i alternate it with another cleanser for example the foaming cleanse that is the one that i use, and use the control cleanser some days a week?? I would really like to know 😊

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому +2

      Hey! :)
      You can use this cleanser daily if that's fine for your skin or alternate between that one and a non-exfoliating acid cleanser. Either use them on different days or use one in the morning and the other one in the evening. Test it to see what works best for you! :)

    Can I use products that aren’t necessarily good to use with a salicylic acid leave-on product later on? Like, can i use this to wash my face in the morning and then an hour to two later use my resveratrol acid with azalaic acid? Or my vitamin c and retinol routine? Or does the salicylic acid in the wash stay too long and i shouldnt use those later on?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому +1

      No, the pH here is not an issue. However, the cleanser can dry the skin, and therefore, when certain ingredients like Azelaic Acid or Retinol are used, it can make the skin even drier. As a result, using them together is not a good idea. Instead, you can use one in the morning and the other in the evening.

      Hmm, you could do that, but if you choose to, I would suggest also using a moisturizer, something like CeraVe's Ultra Light Moisturizing Gel: ua-cam.com/video/kMCE4OXLI_I/v-deo.html
      Without it, your skin may become a bit dry, which could lead to irritation!

    Is this cleanser more hydrating than the SA cerave cleanser?? And also what cleanser do you lean towards to with regards to the two

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  2 роки тому +1

      The SA Renewing cleanser works well for me, but the Smoothing Cleanser is drying, or it may be just a feeling not sure. However, this one works better for me; it's actually my favourite CeraVe cleanser now. But again, the frequency plays an essential role; if I use it morning and evening, it still drys out the skin, but that also comes down to other products you may use in your skincare routine, if they are hydrating it shouldn't be an issue. So it's hard to tell. 😉

      Well, it depends on where you live, your day-to-day activities, how much time you spend outdoors, how high the UV index is, and if the sun is out and how strong it is, because this CeraVe Cleanser is an Exfoliating Acid Cleanser, which can make the skin more sensitive.

      Yes, that's fine. It's also fine to not use sunscreen if you do not spend a lot of time outdoors. However, if you have a lot of sun exposure for several hours a day, I recommend using sunscreen, as the exfoliating acid cleanser may make the skin more sensitive to the sun. This sensitivity can persist even if you use it only in the evening because it helps shed dead skin cells, which can reduce the skin's natural protection. If you have sensitive skin, consider a mineral sunscreen like the one from Good Molecules.

      Hey! :) Is this the first time you are using a Salicylic Acid-based cleanser? If yes, this can be an initial reaction and should calm down over time - like in a month. However, if it doesn't get any better after that, it's best to stop using it. Also, do you use it in the morning and evening, daily? If yes, I recommend using it only once per day, or once every other day. Do you use any other skincare products? If so, what do you use? Are you using enough water with this cleanser?

      It is drying. The Inkey List Salicylic Acid cleanser is a great alternative! :) You still can use it with the retinoid. But since you also use Glycolic Acid, it may be a bit too much. Or you can alternate days or use it in the morning and a gentle cleanser in the evening. I mean, there are multiple possibilities.

      It really depends on your skin tolerance and how often you want to do that combination. My advice would be to use them in separate routines and to use a non-exfoliating acid cleanser when using the gel in the PM.

    I started using this yesterday night after switching from another brand that I really liked but wasn’t quite doing the job. So far it’s made my acne dramatically worse and caused massive bumps on the side of my face. It has also caused my skin to be much duller and more textured. I don’t know if I should risk it and keep using it or switch back and settle for what I used to have.

      not necessarily; it could also be the opposite. And most often, Salicylic Acid is the issue.
