    Mistakes:
    1. Using it as a spot treatment
    2. Stopping once your acne is clear
    3. Expecting results overnight
    4. Using more than necessary
    5. Putting it on your eyelids
    6. Using it with retinols
    7. Not using moisturizer
    8. Washing your face too often
    9. Stopping for vacation
    10. Waxing

I have mild, mostly hormonal acne and stared using differen about 2 weeks ago. I use a pea sized amount every other day sandwiched between two layers of lotion. Obviously it hasn't affected my acne yet, but my skin texture looks so nice lately! I was almost late to work this morning because I was so distracted by my face in the mirror 😂

Differin gel was ROUGH for me but I stuck it out. The first six months my face was falling off. I couldnt smile without skin cells falling everywhere. It was so itchy and painful and red. My derm kept telling me it was normal and to keep it up. I ended up at a cosmetic surgeon for a different reason and she told me to reduce it to 2 times a week and my skin finally improved. Definitely do not recommend daily use if this is youe first retinoid!

Since using Differin, I noticed my dry eyes started getting worse to a point I can't wear contacts for too long. I read an optometry article which explains that if retinoids come in contact with eyelids and are absorbed, they can damage epithelial cells in the meibomian glands and cause significant dry eyes. I always try to avoid the eye area when applying Differin and wash my fingertips afterwards. Even though I was so careful, it ended up in my eyes. Maybe because it entered the eyes when I applied eye cream with Differin residue still on my fingers. Benzoyl peroxide and salicyclic acid can cause dry eyes too.

I've been using Differin for 3 months now and love it. It's so helpful for my acne. I have pretty much clear skin on a good day. I will say I only use it in the morning because when I used it at night and went to sleep, the gel spread around my neck and my eyelids and they was so irritated. So daytime only for me! • @gokcebeyza

Make sure your skin is dry before using differin. If you use moistureizer before differin wait for your skin to completeley absorb it then afterwards put differin that way it wont spread. And redness might be from the sun because differin can be irritating with sun. Thats why it is mostly used at night time.

I definitely use it around my eyes, and while I had redness and dryness and peeling for a while until my skin got used to it, that can be mitigated by using a good moisturizer and petrolatum OVER it. I think it's helped with wrinkles around my eyes, and now, 6 months into daily applications all over my face and upper half of my neck, I get zero irritation and my eyes are very happy and plenty well moisturized. It can and often will cause redness and irritation/peeling anywhere on the face/neck while your skin gets used to it. Long term, though, it's good for your skin- and that includes eyelids.

I’ve been using adapalene since 2017 and I love it. In conjunction with sprinolactone, it helped clear my skin up. My skin is clear but I continue to use it because I love how smooth it’s made my skin.

I'm on a skin rejuvenation journey at age 70, after being treated for pre-cancerous places. I had dual fraxel laser procedure #1 last month, and will get the #2 procedure next week. My derm says I should start on a retinoid after my skin heals from the procedures. Here is our plan to start slowly and build up my tolerance. First I will use an OTC retinol, then graduate to differin after my skin acclimates to retinol. After I acclimate to differin, I can start on tretinion. The derm also recommends to use moisturizer to control dryness.

I think this video is really interesting. I am from Germany and my dermatologist today told me to use differin. And she said "this is nothing you use on your complete face, ok? Please only use it on your spots!"
Now I am confused, but it seems that I really have to use it on my complete face. Makes more sense to me.

Yup I can totally vouch for the eyelid one. I used it on my eyelids without knowing what would happen and my eyelids and area around got very inflamed, dry, red, and swelled up some. I had to use aquaphor on my eyelids because even my usual CeraVe moisturizer hurt to apply. It’s gotten better but it’s been like 3 months and they are still a bit red :(

Same happened to me! I knew not to do it but one night I wasn’t paying and I got it on one of my eyelids and now it’s inflamed and idk what to use to get it to go away, it’s been two weeks now. Besides that the Differin routine has worked amazingly for me.

Just went to CVS to get only the DIFFERIN ADAPALENE but saw the moisturizer NIGHT & DAY with spf, then the SERUM and TONER, all Differin products. I already have the face wash. I suffered from hormonal acne since teenager years & I am now 41, my old products surprisingly don't works no more 😢. I have been watching your videos since last year and now, I decide to try on this Adapalene. I hope it works for me. 🤞 Thank you for doing what you do! I am your video watcher. :))
