It's a shame this won't get as many views as the fnaf retrospective because this video was great! Keep up the quality!
Found the channel through fnaf, stayed for the fnaf, gonna watch everything else because it's also great. Gonna learn about games I've never heard of!
I still hold the main character's family as responsible for the accident happening in the first place.
If he's his sister's ride home, why did his dad surprise him with alcohol?
Why did no one at the party say anything as he was leaving?
Why didn't his sister say anything? I'm pretty sure there's a scene where he's literally fumbling with the keys and she notices.
Yes he shouldn't have driven or left his sister to die, or planted the drink on the other victim, but someone should have noticed his drunken stupor well before or at the moment he entered the car.
It’s not the victim’s fault for what happen to them
@@mynameisambertoo7379 Yeah the sister doesn't deserve any blame, although I agree with you about the dad having at least part of the blame by hosting this and then being cool with his son getting behind the wheel. Key word "part" though, being drunk is never ever an excuse for anything.
@@mynameisambertoo7379
Sorry for the very late reply, but if I noticed my driver is drunk and I get into the car with them, and there's an accident, I am at least partly to blame. I knew there was trouble ahead and did nothing about it.
He still murdered a young woman, tore two families apart, and framed a father. He drove the car, it's his fault. Any event can be traced back to some initial triggering event, and that can be useful but he still did the act. He's still at fault. I agree some things could've been handled better, but he drank and drove. That's reprehensible.
I loved Stories Untold! Especially when it was just called “the house abandoned” and then became Stories Untold.. such a nostalgia trip
The "It Was Just a Dream" twist works here for another reason. It's hinted at as early as *the first of the four games.* For example, The House Abandon will accept requests that don't make such sense in the immediate context of the game (for example, information you don't get until the fourth game actually does affect The House Abandon, like "drink whiskey" for example being a valid command), and when it CAN'T accept a command, the "error" message makes no sense: "I'm sorry, I don't understand." (The game is in third person, why would the game suddenly refer to itself in the first person?) ...Unless it's not the game, but a quote rolling around in your head. Even the weird meta-jump at the end makes more sense as your internal guilt. You HAVE TO SAY it's your fault to complete the game. And you have to CONVINCE yourself it was your fault.
Wake up babe new Sagan hawkes vid
Oh yeah this game, i remember when MatPat played this. I remember liking it at the time, but (spoilers) the ending felt too much like the police were forcing him to confess rather than him actually being responsible for Jennifer's death.
Check out Observation, some stuff there makes me question the twist in S.U
Yeah at the end of the first chapter I remember typing "no" about 10 times in a row when the prompt kept telling me to say it was all my fault, which ties in to that pretty well. He's not really coming to terms with things, outside influences are pulling it out of him.
Gmod, GTA, Grow up, Grow home, Goat simulator. These are the games that could in my opinion have a retrospective that I could think of off the top of my head
Especially gta, 3, vice city, etc.
Gmod definitely
@@williamkline6450 yeah, I was thinking that based on the way he said the G and nothing else it would most likely be Gmod
I was right, let's go
could you do a retrospective on S.C.P containment breach?
Phenomenal idea
@@davidadu8559 tbh i didnt know how much my comment would blow up lol

Kaiju Kingdom: "They called me a Madman"
@@MoonsFPSStudio your welcome :)
Man, your video quality just keeps improving.
Thank you for featuring me as a Patreon! Much love :] ~F
I really enjoyed this game but I also think it was the "Lost" of video games; great writing, character development and presentation with a less than satisfying conclusion. Still, I would LOVE to see a sequel.
"Wake up babe! New A Retrospective video dropped!"
Damn, this game was good. That "but that's not how it happened, was it?" line made me _shudder_ when I heard it!
I freaking LOVE this game, so glad you’re covering it! I think the “it’s all a dream” trope worked well for this game because that’s not exactly what it is! It’s a confessional!
Dude that jacket you’re wearing is so cool, where did you get it?
On EBay. It’s a 90s NASCAR jacket.
God I love your way of covering things, keep being awesome
These videos have gotten me through some tough times rn. Thank you.
Love this UA-camr!
I remember when "Stories Untold" originally released as just "The House Abandon" back in 2016.
Simpler times for me.
I like this game
I'm watching your retrospectives on games while working on characters for a game I want to make at some point. Not only are these helping me figure out how atmosphere in horror games work, I'm also finding new amazing games through them. Very entertaining.
i actually love the whole "it's a dream" trope, as long as its explained and given a propper reason as to why it was all a dream.
But i agree that this wasnt really a good game to put the trope in, like a better way for the its a dream trope would be if you woke and you were surrounded by the machines from the 2nd game and they put you to sleep to study you or as a revelation that you were attacked while helping the machines and they put you in a comatos state to heal you as repayment for helping them or something
I just finished the game, but I don't think this was a case of "it was just a dream". They clearly tell you that James is having trouble separating real events from fiction because of the show he's been watching. It's why he's remembering certain events incorrectly and mixed with his own memories.
I love the cinematic vignettes between each segment of the game! They’re really beautiful and tie it together.
I absolutely adore the aesthetic of this video. You can really see how much your videos are improving and you're finding and honing your own style which each new video you make - so excited to see what you produce next!
I'd never heard of this game before. This is neat! Your editing style is really nice, hope you keep this up :)
Yoooo, literally just replayed this tonight! Crazy timing and a great vid as always.
your all i watch right now man keep up the good work
Awesome video. I'm really intrigued by that game now and would love to play it.
I'm thankful for youtube for recommending me good quality content back then when you uploaded your first FNAF retrospective. It's always such a nice pleasure to watch your videos. Keep it up man!
Dude these videos are so cool! You make me interested in stuff I never thought I’d be interested in :)
I literally love this game so much, the atmosphere and execution are so incredible, my favorite of the collection is the second one.
Love your stuff, thanks Sagan
I appreciate how consistently well-made your retrospective videos are
I just watched the Markiplier let’s play in order to watch this video and HOLY SHIT THESE GAMES ARE GENIUS
I honestly didn’t mind the end at all, it was extremely emotionally effective to me. Maybe the first time I’ve liked a “it’s all a dream” twist which I’d never thought I’d say.
Yeah yeah
Yoooooo your vids are top tier keep it up!
Love these videos and their structure
i kinda wish you would make longer content because i love falling asleep to your videos
I just have the videos on a playlist to fall asleep to
Genuinely a good video, thanks man
you probably won't read this, but i discovered your channel because of this video and it helped me to fully understand what happened in the game (i was a little confused after i finished playing). thank you for putting so much dedication and love into your work and talking about games that aren't very popular!
i hope your channel will continue to grow. you're amazing
Lessgo!
Wait, I'm not the only one who remembers Stories Untold? Wow, I haven't seen anyone talk about this game in years lol
Sayan Hawk is back and deader than ever too
I know this is a 2yr old video… but I just played this game & I LOVED the twist!!! I’ve seen others complaining about the ending, but I truly loved it. I love how unexpected it was. I feel like I would’ve been annoyed if it was aliens or another supernatural aspect because… that’s it. Like “oh, ok. It’s just aliens and we’re gonna die. The end!” Lol. I don’t know, I feel like the It Was All A Dream troupe is so cliche but in this instance it was done VERY well!!!
And now they're doing Silent Hill Townfall! I'm really excited!
Yeah fr I’m so excited for this! The potential for an ACTUALLY GOOD silent hill spin off is awesome!
I loved this eerie series of games, and your videos continue to spike in quality. S tier shit man.
I'm a new subscriber baby from the FNAF videos and my favourite thing from those videos were the community speculation sections and the theory parts.
This was a great vid! I just missed that section.
Man, I love this game so much. It makes my skin crawl, and that's good
I’m kinda mad that I never actually hit sub, I’ve been watching all your stuff since you dropped that first FNAF retrospective and you just kept improving
I was hoping to keep seeing more past FNAF and this combined with your improved vid quality is just a fun fun fun watch
Ngl i followed for fnaf but this looks cool and your voice is soothing so
Glad someone made such a good review on such a brilliant scary game! No Code is firmly on my watch list after SU and Observation, both absolute bangers.
I played this collection of games a couple of years back out of curiosity from a flash deal, I'm so glad I did. It's absolutely phenomenal.
Your fnaf retrospective got me to watch this. Hope to see more super scary shit in the future!
The Darkness 2 had a “it was a dream” twist but the game had two endings.
I played this game and I have some bitter thoughts about the twist at the end.
they keep saying that it's all the main character's fault and yes, it is, but it's acting like it was him and him alone. Everyone knew he was drunk. He was painfully obviously incapable of driving and everyone told him to do so anyways. Hell, his sister seemed to be more capable than him at that point. It was his fault, yes, but not his alone. No one thought "Maybe having the clearly drunk individual drive isn't a good idea."
The whole "it's all your fault" shit ruined the game.
fantastic video for a fantastic game
This game went from scaring the shit out of me to making me so fucking sad. It really surprised me how the narrative morphed as you played. A great little game!
Keep branching out like this. May I suggest a few more i indies to cover? Yames’ titles like discover our body, agony of a dying mmo and sleepover rules would be a good few
Have you ever played any Puppet Combo games? If so, those would be great for a retrospective. Loving the content!
This is worth a watching
sagan, have you ever just 🚗
Am I the only one who heard G and immediately thought of the G-man from Half Life? Idk if that's right but it would be a banger to see. Keep up the videos, Sagan- they're really, really solid video essays. Came for the FNaF retrospectives, stayed for your narrative style.
One of the best game series ever made
I remember playing this game when I got it for free on the epic games store, it had so many cool moments, I'm very much a scaredy cat and usually limit myself to "sit n' survive" styled horror games, so when you had to get up on the 3rd game that really caught me off guard
I didn't mind the twist ending.
You should check out Paratopic. It seems right up your alley
Discovered your channel from FNAF, stayed for everything else
Yes yes yes yes sedan with another banger
Observation retrospective next?
Easily my favorite UA-camr
this background track is tripping me out, it sounds like someone is tapping a pen on the counter behind me every once in a while its so wack lol
Stories Untold, I remember seeing it when it was just the text based game.
Then the whole game came out and it was super fun to watch everyone play it and be surprised by it.
The plot is fine imo, it's cool. It didn't need a story, but they worked and wove the hints together pretty well.
It's also fun to compare the original The House Abandoned with the full game. The differences are pretty cool. I searched for a lot of people playing this game, I love it.
It's pretty much my cup of tea.
Do you plan to do retrospectives like this about other horror games and not just fnaf more in the future? I love your style, and I like hearing you talk about them.
Stories untold was a great game. Loved it.
I clicked on this video faster than the flash can run 69 miles
Pog
God, it's been ages since i thought about Stories Untold
This game is so good!!
Oh FUCK yes
Gosh, I loved ohmwreckers play through of this !
Here both cus dope vids but also explicitly to support diverse content, get it king 🤴
I’m waiting for a BATIM retrospective
Will this man ever stop making banger content ?
Oohhhhhhhh i keep seeing that pop up on my insta i kept dismissing it cause i didnt know what it was.
Also i thought it was like a troll account.
yo you should do a retrospective on bendy and the ink machine!
yo Segan, I recommend you check out Sad satan and cover it if you’d like to, its cool and creepy and its just really cool in general I think you’ll like it :)
HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS GOOD!
If you enjoyed stories untold, have you thought about checking out their newest game Observation?
♡
When I saw the LP from Markiplier, the first chapter had me so hooked.
LFG!!!!!
Eyo where you got that jacked from?
Hey Sagan I’ve been looking at your channel for quite a long time now and I think you’d be into the stuff I found, it’s all weird and just super interesting to me and I think you’d like it too, so if you can (if you have the time too that is) to check out the first tape I’ve got more in a box somewhere but I’ll make sure to carry on uploading them so hope you see this.~Lucas
It's not a dream though.
They're false memories that his mind invented AFTER he woke up, that he is now describing to his doctor thinking that it actually happened.
love your content dude
could use some jokes though
but im some rando on the internet uhuuhuhuhuhuh
let me guess does the g stand for g-man ? (like from half life)
Dude you're so fucking cool
H o o r a y!
I don't know what you are like in real life, but based on your personality on YT I wish we could be friends!
HALF-LIFE RETROSPECTIVE?
G may be referencing the G-man
