- What’s happening in this American Gangster movie clip?
Frank (Denzel Washington from The Equalizer and Malcolm X) comes to see Nicky (Cuba Gooding from What dreams may come) to ask him to stop diluting the brand, or at least put another name on the merchandise. Nicky is upset to be treated like that in his own club. Later, Huey (Chiwetel Ejiofor from Doctor Strange and Inside Man) and Frank are arrested by the cops, whereas they have merchandise in the trunk. The cops accept to say nothing because Frank gives them money. Other cops are watching the scene.

What’s the American Gangster movie about?
Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington from The Equalizer and Malcolm X) decides to take over his boss's business after he died. He becomes a powerful drug dealer, who manages to overcome the American mafia thanks to a new strategy: he starts selling heroin directly imported from Vietnam half the price of other dealers, while his quality is much higher. This drug, Blue Magic, is making its success. But Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe from Gladiator and Man of Steel), a New York cop who lost his teammate to an overdose, is going to try to bring him down.

The way he says “my man” is still the coolest thing I’ve ever heard
Both of them say "my man".
It meant that "I'ma fuck you up"
Naw. It mean you dead 😆
How sad
@@topherwyatt8398 i disagree on that, buddy. Frank came to ask Nicky to change the name. When he got a frustrated reaction from Nicky, he realised his point came across. It would be done. My man... Haha
For those that don’t know, it’s not alright. He smashed his head into the window when they got back in the car. He was big mad.
He deserved it 100%
My thoughts exactly. Not alright in the slightest

Car need a good clean after wards cos the drivers brains where on the side window
I have not seen this film...but I could tell, it really was not alright
He respected the fact that he stood his ground in his own club and called out the disrespect while understanding the problem
In real life Frank Lucas knew that Niki Barnes was untouchable. Frank was a supplier who cut out the middle man. Barnes was the biggest drug dealer in the area. Who ran his organization like the mafia. Plus he had mafia ties with several families.
Yep. He recognized that it was only a natural reaction from Nikki and recognized that there was no need to press any further. Always liked this part.
Nicky Barnes was far more the bigger, more notorious drug dealer than Frank was. I doubt this scene ever happened
@scottytoohottysmith6991 Some people don't know that. Frank Lucas was low key. Nicky Barnes is who people knew.

Denzel has a way of owning every scene he is in. Few actors can do this well. A look, a few words or a smile. When great actors are mentioned Denzel should be top of the list.
Hes the best
With respect to Mr. Washington, there is NO denying that he is a GOOD actor but, the reason he is compared to Sidney Poitier is the fact that both men carry themselves in a way that says: Respect. Neither one of them demands nor asks for our respect, they just exude it. Neither is a braggart that demands attention or an absent minded fool, bumbling along.

A true gangster would have been understanding the situation real quick and would have come with something better than “I buy it, i own it” as he should have known that even in commerce you would be unable to buy 100 bottles of pepsi, mix it with fanta and then selling them as Pepsi. It’s just good logic that helps avoiding chaos, which every true gangster needs and should want to follow. That makes the difference between a Don and a mindless criminal.

An extremely legend of a film, that should be known even more, and receive more credits for its dynamics. Such an amazing storyline, characters, soundtrack and led by two legendary actors, Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe who brought so much emotion, and action to it. What makes the film even greater is the many lessons and lines that are brought up, and what's even greater is how it's based on a true story. Honestly, worth watching no matter what. Had watched this on my birthday years back, and really an unforgettable film, that till this day I have never forgotten about. Don't want to spoil much, but its a must-see. 4.19.2020
By the way if yall havent, make sure yall watch the extended cut. Has waaaay more explanation for the ending of the movie and it makes alot more sense. Its like 10 more minutes of movie time but its a much better ending.

Josh Brolin is such a great actor. He's perfect in this role.
