      Him getting a lift from his wife got him out that situation especially when the daughter came over and he picked her up and started walking backwards to make sure he can see them still was priceless. They already knew it was over after that because that was their shot to get him alone.

    I love everything about this one-take, specially Denzel's acting here. He has that introverted-yet-trying-not-to-be energy to him (which just ... kinda hit home with me), and it makes the scene so much better because you've seen what he's capable of and who he's capable of being prior to this scene.

    • @swrennie
      @swrennie Місяць тому

      Does 33 seconds without a cut really make a "one-take", or is it just a scene? Maybe it just speaks to the cut times in today's movies and television. MTV did us no favors.

    • @ArcienPlaysGames
      @ArcienPlaysGames Місяць тому

      @swrennie I mean, yeah? It's both. I guess I went with one-take because they could've just as easily had a bunch of camera cuts in there to make the scene more "alive" for lack of a way better term, but making it a one-take really visualises to us what Robert is like in situations like these. I personally felt like having the camera angle be unmoving almost put me in his shoes, and I thought it was a really cool decision.

    I like how he didn't care about all the reasons this guy was giving for doing his dirt. One could understand being upset about how the military treats people, but Robert's concern was that they murdered his friend and took their nonsense too far, killing innocent people for money. Killing McCall best friends and Trying to kill his team leader was the mistake he tried to do, also liked how at 7:27 McCall was reaching for his piece checking if it was on him was ready to smoke all them
