Ive spent so much time looking for music promotion tips and tutorials. Most people out there just give these generic advices like "Create good content!" or "Send to bloggers and Follow up!" All of this basic stupid things that we already know. You guys are actually giving real, concrete and detailed advices, so thank you for that, you got a suscriber.
This is probably the most concise, thorough run-down on youtube of how FB ads manager works from an indie musician perspective. The ads I ran using these methods from Circa got way more attention than anything else I'd tried.
I'm still lost but I agree, this vid is the only one I found that actually breaks FB ads down to their various sections and options. It is sinking in slowly but I'll need to watch this a few times. Never was a fast learner.
This is so important to independent musicians and shows you that there are a lot of tools at your fingertips that can really help you grow without spending a huge amount of money with a traditional marketing agency!
This might be one of the most comprehensive explanation of Facebook ads and which ones help provide the desired outcome. I listened to this at X2 speed. Information seems legit. I'm subscribing.
@@musicmarketing 1 year later, you guys should know that this was the video that convinced me to purchase a membership with you guys. One of the best investments I've ever made. I learned a lot. You guys have done a great job. 💯💯💯
As a music producer who has ran ads & lost alot of money, they definitely gave me more of a perspective on FB ads. Needed this, I will be going back to this video when I create my next ad.
I just peeked into this video just cause I love the videos you are putting out. All I do really is concentrate on my mail list and I have come to realize that everything is just like an expanded email list. but this helped me to understand that Facebook ads are like a mind blowing expanded email list program. its really amazing!
I can really stand by the Indepreneur method. This was taught in the IndiePro course and goes even further with marketing strategies with the Facebook ads. :)
I've been an indie pro member for several months. It's legit and not only has business grown but these techniques can be used in almost any type of business.
Excellent stuff! I decided to run my first campaign with a messenger button on our latest video (our first and only to be honest :). Just starting out but we are very excited! Thanks for the good work Circ!
Thats awesome! Hope it works out. I have experience with fb ads so let me know if you need more help setting up your ads for free croce.guido12@gmail.com
Man, this was packed with a lot of stuff I thought I knew, but didn't really know as much as I thought I did. Haha! Every video you're putting up it just knocking it out of the park. Sheesh!
I'd say spend at least $20 to $30 on the ad set. Then create columns on the ad set section of Price Per Action, CTR, CPC, Engagement rate, Mobile and Desktop, Gender, and finally age group. That will give you a clue on how to optimize the ad. Let me know if you need more help setting up your ads for free croce.guido12@gmail.com

It’s great to see the 3 different levels of an ad explained. I’ve made many ads and figured it out as I go, but having them laid out this way and explained was super helpful!

Each time i watch your videos, i always pick important point. Circa as an artist who wants to run a video view campaign, what's the best Facebook optimization should i select between "Thruplay" & " 2 second continous video views". The video i intend using is a 3 minutes video. Your assistance would be highly appreciated. Thanks
If I am targeting two potentially different audiences with two different projects (ie artists looking for production as well as a listening audience for my EP) can setting up two different ad campaigns (and two separate mailers) keep these two demos separate so that I’m not paying to capture the opposing audience? Thanks!
Hey Jensen, In this case, we'd actually recommend setting up two separate Ad Accounts and Pages. Your Ad Account and your Page are like children - they learn from anything you throw at them and their behavior changes over time because of it. Since the target markets share similarities but are fundamentally different, you want to separate these efforts at the Page and Ad Account level - not just the campaign level. Hope that helps!
@@musicmarketing Hmm interesting. I guess my only thought was that the audience I'm targeting in order to lease/sell hip hop beats to may very well be interested in also listening to an instrumental jazz hip hop EP that I'm producing however the reverse will often times not be the case. I know you've talked about how one's channel should include other facets of you as a way of making your brand more personal so I thought that including the EP project on my main channel would fall into that category. Do you suggest I then split my energy and efforts into separate two channels 50/50 or should I devote, say, 90% of my efforts into the primary beat production channel (while including aspects of the making of the jazz hip hop EP) and then keep a separate jazz hip hop EP channel as a way of proving updates/ads strictly targeted to that audience? Sorry for being long-winded--appreciate the advice!
I think of all the FB strategies I'm most excited to crack into utilizing FB Messenger. The interactive aspect just seems like it could be a huge playground for creatives (like everyone watching this video). I always imagine it kinda like a modern day choose your own adventure.
It's weird how so many indies are so willing to shell out $$$ for radio plays, publicists etc but wince at the idea of running their own ads which they actually have more control over
I dont have any website for conversation ads and facebook ask pixel code placement. How we solve this problem? Can I make a conversation ad campaing without website.I would like to just use linkfire, feature fm etc. link but I didn't get success.
Do you think that since so much advertising has moved from direct mail to online marketing, could there be some viable strategies that involved direct mail marketing for musicians? I know a band that actually mails out postcards and flyers to thousands of people in the area to promote shows and they absolutely pack rooms when they play!
Is it safe to say that if you wanna direct traffic to Spotify, you should use the Reach campaign objective? Will you be able to ad a link to your single or you need the call to action button ? Unless you still can but only in the copy.... ?
Should my facebook page be "business' or community or what? i also don't know where to change it anymore they changed facebook again. Also it says where should your ad be seen? with two boxes to check, one with messenger beside - what's that about? Any help anyone thanks.
Thank you for all this info, incredible. I have a question though, when I see tracking campaigns with links to Spotify songs, the data from FB is WAY higher than that from Spotify. Let's say FB is reporting a thousand clicks to a song on Spotify and Spotify shows only 20+ streams of that song during that same period I'm wondering what could be happening? Thanks
I could be wrong but I think Spotify only counts a stream when someone has listened to more than 30 seconds of the song. if its anything less it doesn't count as an official stream
Yeah I ust double checked. this is what it says "Spotify classifies a single stream of a song when it has been listened to for 30 seconds or more. If you restart the song, whether by having it on repeat or clicking it again, it will count as another play after 30 seconds have been listened to again.
This is the best and most straightforward discussion on Facebook for musicians I have found. Thanks!
i agree 100%
