Social media IS SUPER IMPORTANT. But we think the ability to create undeniable music is the ultimate goal... It may take longer but that's what this is, A LOOOOONG GAME!
*We daily assist artists in expanding their reach and finding new listeners, so we know well that promoting a song can be challenging (but always effective with us). Unfortunately, nowadays a good track needs promotion to succeed.*

Hi, label A&R here (USA). These tips are definitely practical, I'm just not sold on how actionable they are for a developing artist. In other words - these work great, and are actually the standard 10 bases to cover for a standard release, that is, if you already have somewhat of a significant fanbase / signed to a label. I think a handsome majority of people here are looking for tips to cultivate and develop that fanbase so that they *can* reach that point of good, consistent, release momentum and trajectory thru these strategies. Nonetheless I love what you guys are doing. Cheers!

I release my music for my own soul, I accept the idea of never getting famous for my music, so I just prefer to consume my own product, instead other peoples products, so far I am happy with that.
forget fame, you don’t think there are other people in the world who your music could reach their soul too ? that’s why you put your music out for everybody to listen because there are other ppl out there who relate to whatever you’re talking about ... that mindset will hold you back from changing somebody else’s life for the better with your music 💯🤝
tez got a point, there’s definitely someone who can relate or some crowd that your music will be accepted in, it’s just about letting the boat reach the right island
Agree with both sides of the coin here. I do make music for my own self stabilisation to keep me from going mad when I can't make music, but there also is no better feeling then writing something for yourself and somebody says it made them feel some kind of way and related to them. Both of them things there is why I can't quit making music.
This was my first Burstimo video... about a month ago, never having heard of this channel before, I assumed that it was going to go until the end of the video just leading us around in circles without even getting to tip #1, so you could say at the end "buy our book to get access to these 10 tips!" Boy was I wrong. What a great channel to happen upon. What a wealth of knowledge.
Here's my short story: 30+ years ago I was bit by a parasite ruining my ability to play. 2021 I finally regained it, trained hard to play again, learning todays DAWs and as I was about to release 60+ tracks I was hit by a stroke. I somehow fought hard enough to get those out and still release the 200 I managed to mix of 800+ still in store. I have 207 subs, but 600+ monthly listeners on Spotify .. have no idea where they came from, and here I am watching this sweet video just to be "one of you guys" :-)
Thank you so much for summing this up. I'm weirdly amazed and rather outraged at the amount of comments talking about anything but the content. Please don't stop posting!

Very helpful I'm actually starting my brand all over. I've been aware of many of these tips but could never get them into a stream lined order this is so simple and easy to follow. I will most definitely update with my results!!
I'm a beginner music artist, but I haven't submitted any of my tracks to Spotify or any of those other music streaming services. However, I watched this video from beginning to end and took notes on it, and this is a very helpful video. I don't know where my music is going to go, but I do know that I'm putting my music on Spotify sometime later, so thanks for the video tip. It was very helpful.
I watch quite a few of these videos recently and I find it quite interesting that so much attention is put into these steps. However, I never see anyone talking about the most important step before ever considering releasing anything and that’s copyrighting your material. This actually takes much more time then you think to do it correctly. With most of the crap I’m unfortunate enough to hear being produced these days, it’s most likely not worth stealing. So, keep settling for your .004 cents a stream and keep feeding the beast.
I don’t comment on videos but gotta say I fckin love the content y’all do, imma A&R for a small indie label and I went to school for business management/audio recording and I’ve learned more about the current music business practices in the few videos I’ve watched so far from your channel then I did at a 30 k a year school 😭 def recommending to all my coworkers and artists ⚡️ keep up the great work you def got a loyal follow from me 🥂
fuck music after watching this ima tell yall how to blow up.... since i havent yet. lmao STEP 1- start a youtube channel and word vomit about the obvious.
I used to play in a band. When we released our first album we had a fairly good following but the release didn't extend any further than those who already followed us which kinda got me down. Then I found out about PR. If you want your release to be featured in blogs, online magazines, talked about by influencers, reviewed, etc, then you need some form of PR behind the release. For our releases from then on we always sought out a PR company to work with us to get a campaign together. Some were more successful than others. But it's how we got into those magazines etc. Now this was almost 10 years ago, times have changed where hustling to create your own PR is relatively achievable. My advice (as well as following this video) is once you're release is ready, hustle to get as much PR as possible! :) If you know anyone who can do PR then get to know them and get them to help. Awesome video btw!
@@iamsethreins PR stands for Public Relations but it's essentially everything to do with media. The reason anything ends up on the news, in a magazine, on a blog, talked about by an influencer, etc. It's almost always going to be because a PR company (or PR department of a bigger company i.e. a record label) has managed to get it to the right person. Record Labels have their own PR departments who will have a bunch of contacts to ensure that the artists who release through them get talked about by the right people. There are separate PR companies who aren't part of a record label who specialise in music PR specifically. The most important thing to note is that if you want your music to be talked about in media (on the radio, tv, reviewed in magazines, talked about by 'alt press', 'kerrang', 'nme' or 'rocksound', etc) then you need someone with the contacts for those places to make that happen. A PR company will offer you that. Just be careful, some of them will promise you all that but won't deliver.
they are really easy actually, but this is not the steps to blowing up. i mean.. there is soundcloud artist blowing up on one trash track now days, its all about that accidental viral hit.. and after that its persistence. its simple to do, maintaining it on a daily is the rough part, esp as an artist with no management.
@@WhoIsJidol There is no such thing as an accentual hit . What she is saying in the video is for people who have spent years on developing their songs and have a real product that has been recording in a professional studio and is radio quality . A radio station wont play something unless it can hold up to stuff like the Trews Faun ect . She is also leaving out some information . There are other things one needs to do before even thinking about putting a work out . Without doing those things first no one will play what you have or if they do you wont collect any royalties .

Thanks for the tips, I plan to my first single in the near future and hope that you will enjoy it! Anthony

Once I can consistently get a good track out every month, I can cascade 2 release cycles to get a flow going. Its a great idea, thanks! :P
You're welcome!
Yo, ur the 🐐 dude. Thankyou for not blabbering about random BS for 75% of the video ❤️🙏🏼 lol you have great content!

These are fantastic tips. Thanks, Maddy. I literally ended up getting a pad of paper out, went back and the video and took notes. Subscribed!

Yo let this girl audition for game of thrones
fuck music after watching this ima tell yall how to blow up.... since i havent yet. lmao STEP 1- start a youtube channel and word vomit about the obvious.
What is a PR? I’ve never heard of that before. That sounds like a great idea to try out.
@@AugustRadioProject Ah! Thank you for explaining. I learned something new today
Yes pre-save dates are important
Why am I so insanely depressed after watching this?
I actually had to rewatch and write down all this tips once again. I love your info.
Tip no. 11 feature artists who are on the come up.
This was quite helpful, you do need a system for when you release new songs!
Great content, i'm glad this showed up in my recommendations
This is great advice for selling a song and album.
We will never thank you enough for sharing all this amazing content with us, so useful 😁❤️
So glad to hear!
Thank you for the knowledge girl, Luv you! From Romania Peace and Love!! :X
This is useful but most of these are much easier said than done
they are really easy actually, but this is not the steps to blowing up. i mean.. there is soundcloud artist blowing up on one trash track now days, its all about that accidental viral hit.. and after that its persistence. its simple to do, maintaining it on a daily is the rough part, esp as an artist with no management.
Yoooooooo!!!🙏 PLZ!!!!🚨🚨🚨🚨 Comment,"give that man his drugs" so I could get a free bag!!!!! Fam Life Or No Life 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
