+leftysrightwich Wow! He waited 10-12 minutes for a heart attack problem and you want to emulate it? Amazing. Did you hear Rick talk about how over worked the medical people are? I'm glad there are some people who want to work in it so badly that they took care of Rick.

Huge relief to see you're ok and on the mend Rick - and it's so nice to hear such positivity about the NHS as well; my sister is a nurse and they are overstretched to the max but you're right, they do their absolute best with what they have. Sounds like you were in good hands - wishing you best wishes for a full and quick recovery.

I'm just finding out about this now. I'm really pleased that you went to see about this because I had a friend die over something very routine that could have been easily fixed... if he had gone to his doctor... but work came first... and last as it transpired. I fully endorse your sentiments about the staff, angels from Heaven. I am under constant medical supervision now and I can only praise the super team that looks after me because they gave me my life back. It makes me very sad to see the abuse our doctors and nurses have to take from politicians and public.
    Best Wishes, Brendan.

Great to hear that it wasn't your heart and that you are now on the mend. I have had a couple of health scares myself recently and I have to agree that, with the exception of two (foreign) doctors who could have done with a few lessons in bedside manners, the staff who looked after me were absolutely brilliant. I wish you a full and speedy recovery my friend.

So happy to hear you are getting well! :)
The NHS sounds quite wonderful and a system you are fortunate to have there. Here, in the U.S., getting healthcare has become a luxury only some can afford, so care is often put off. I hope, one day, we have a system similar to the NHS.
Sending positive thoughts for your continued recovery~~ Take care! :)

I am so HAPPY you are okay!! You are so kind, not weird and doing wonderful things that really help people get through life with joy and sanity. And I hope the people of your beautiful country don't let the NHS fall into ruin. Here in the US after the death of my brother's wife he has been in bankruptcy for years not only having to work through the grief of loss but worrying about money. Our system can be so cruel. If positive thoughts can help heal you then you should be feeling stronger and better every day. Take Care

Rick! That's fantastic how quickly you are recovering! I wish we had a system that was as good as yours over here in the US. The cost is so high that I have avoided the Doctors not only because of the cost which is sad enough but the treatment is always different and not all that caring, and as you had mentioned, the bills are outrageous and this is with Healthcare. You look great and I will continue to send out those vibes am/pm. Be well 👍🏻

The NHS is the most precious thing. I think you might have picked up that I will never hear a word said against the NHS. The medical professionals are amazing people, and I agree with you that it is infuriating to see what Hunt is trying to do. I think the best way to say thank you for what they did would be to join the Junior Doctors at the next demonstration. I reckon if we all did, then Hunt would have to back down and could even be shown the door. I am really glad it was a false alarm and that you are doing good.

Awh Rick - knew from THG Facebook page you had health issue, and sent you prayers & + vibes. Having had some serious health scares myself I totally understand how thankful, relieved, and raw your emotions are at this time. Very thankful you are in the clear and on the mend. Practice excellent self care now!
There was likely a delay in being seen at hospital, if you were ambulatory upon arrival and not transported by ambulance. I've learned that if you can walk in, they generally don't give same priority as if ambulance brings you. So that might account for the wait.
You are blessed to have the healthcare in UK that you do. US, prior to Affordable Care Act, left vast numbers of Americans without health care and unable to get the care they needed, especially for many "preexisting" conditions. As you mentioned, people had to sell possessions, lose their homes, file bankruptcy and in some cases divorce spouses because of health care costs. Many Americans don't understand that numerous European countries operate offering healthcare as a basic right. Ironic isn't it, that a country founded on equality, actually isn't all that equitable for everyone. Efforts being made to overturn ACA.
Thank you for sharing what happened to you. I truly believe such transparency helps others in many ways. Now - please stay well! : )

That happened to my back! And I had the paramedics at my house haha... I have been to a chiropractic and he has been sorting my ribcage. Thank you for speaking well of the NHS... as a staff nurse and future midwife (I at uni now! :) ) I do really appreciate how well you speak about the staff... The NHS is absolutley full and I have suffered myself the consequences of it by being stressed and sad. Your meditations helped me through those times... I would not treat patients bad even if I was feeling bad myself!

I am really glad you are OK, it sounded a frightening experience.I have been following you for ages now and enjoy watching your videos.
i couldn't agree more with your comment regarding the NHS, the staff are so kind and committed, I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in September 2013 and have been undergoing chemotherapy ever since. I have obviously spent a lot of time with my local hospital and my last treatment with them is on the 1st of next month. They have been fantastic and i am extremely appreciative of their friendliness, care and support, i was very poorly and hospitalised during Christmas and boxing day in 2013 and my Haematology consultant was there to check up on me both days !!
These people are worth their weight in gold !!!
    Take care my Friend

So glad you're on the mend. I'm in the US and watch Sky News, and hear a lot about the NHS. Obama Care is not like that, and tends to center around special interest groups that cater to the insurance companies. I think the NHS would work better than what we have in place here. I think everyone needs to get the help they need when they are sick, and be able to trust the doctors that are in place. Maybe one day everyone will get the help they need. God Bless and will continue to pray for a speedy recovery for you.

      +The Swede
We have the same system where I am from. Sweden (Now in Norfolk) Only difference is we call it free health care but it is not, to see a doctor we pay 20 quid, A&E is 30, if we have no money at the day they glady send us a bill, this is to take the strain of the system, so no more A&E for sore toes or a cold etc, I think UK should do this as well, also in Sweden if I miss an appointment at the surgery I will get fined, here nothing happens, even though I cost the tax payers at least 50 quid for a missed appointment. I hope UK introduce this soon, and the NHS will be saved

    • @rickvanman
      @rickvanman  8 років тому

+The Swede it sounds like a perfectly reasonable system to me, I would be happy for something like this to be implemented, in fact I think at some point something like this was proposed? I'm not sure if it ever came to fruition though.

    • @mazmik

So glad to hear you did not have a major health issue, and nice to know that you are on the mend. Just a note about "Socialized Health" and what some of us American know and feel about it. "Socialized Health" is a two edge sword...it cuts to the need of ALL those under it...BUT the other edge cuts the quality and timeliness(Of course I am not talking about the people that administered and provide their skills)...you sorta alluded to the idea of it, when you pointed out your wait period and the fact that the staff had to make due with what was at hand for them to work with. My Grandma was from Greece, we had to bring her to America to get her the health care she needed for circulation problems in her legs...while in Greece they kept sending her home with only antibiotics to address the skin infection that would not heal due to bad circulation(you would be surprised just how many nix's and cuts you get, that you don't notice...till you have bad circulation), short story...long...lol, she nearly lost one of her legs...literally she got off the plane and we rushed her to the hospital! Many people from outside of America, come here to get health care, because they wont' be told they can't have this or that procedure...YET...etc., and they can see any doctor they want...sure it comes out of their pocket...BUT they have the choices they can make about all that health care has to offer...is private insurance perfect...far from it...BUT you have choices and if you can't afford health insurance...you are never turned away from a hospital...it's against the law here. Okay off my soap box...lol

Glad it was just a scare. I've had 2 heart attacks (I guess I should say so far) and they haven't really figured out why I have arrhythmia sometimes. They did the test where they run probes to the various chambers of the heart, race your heart on purpose and then see if it can take over the proper rhythm when they let it go. Creepy feeling I can tell you. Unfortunately they can't figure it out and want to install a defibrillator in my chest to monitor my heart "just in case". Very depressing honestly. So much better for it to be just a scare.

Glad to see you are feeling better, you certainly look well as I'm sure you are. Glad you have been given a clean bill of health. This to me sounds like a Kundalini event. The spontaneaous arising of physical/spiritual energy which can be triggered by deep relaxation/meditation. It rises until it hits a blockage of some form - this is a healing process but as you have seen can be quite terrifying. Just a personal view, beware of projecting medicalised explanations onto this, your body is keeping you upright until the blockage fades.

At first i was going to say that you had a panic attack, i had one once, although it had the outward symptoms of a heart attack, i didn't get the pain you mentions, certainly not one that lasted a couple of days.
about 40 years ago i was rushed into hospital for high blood pressure, i couldn't wish for better care, they let you know exactly what was happening and what they were going to do, although i was vulnerable, i felt that i could totally trust them, i was in hospital for about a week, in that time because it was a teaching hospital i was asked if it was ok to bring students around, when you have high blood pressure the vessels in your eyes erupt into mushroom like structures, mine were very prominent, i told the doctor he could bring as many as he liked as they need to learn. as i got better but still needed to be observed, i wheeled the tea trolley around the ward in the evening, had a lot of fun with the nurses, one night i was up late watching tv, when i went back to my bed the nurses had 'apple pie'd ' the bed.
I've had several hospital visits since then, and although the pressure is higher, there is no real difference in the amount of care the staff give to you, they still like a bit of a laugh, so i try to brighten their day when i can.
The NHS is overstretched, and it's not helped by people with non important issues, just because a woman thinks their confidence is affected by their looks etc, doesn't mean the NHS should pay for what i consider non essential surgery, while some patients wait in the corridors for a hip operation and the like.
Or people coming to this country to get free help.
As you mentioned in the video, we pay a little each month in national insurance to keep this great institution alive.

OMG! Thank goodness you are ok Rick, it must have been a scary experience to have gone through that, but we are sooooooooo happy to hear that you are ok and it was nothing serious, Sending a MASSIVE hug right over to you from across the pond Rick :-) its so wonderful to hear good things about the NHS they do an incredible job, here in Ireland you have to pay over 50 euros just to walk through the Doctors waiting room and its so expensive to have simple things like check ups and blood tests, there is a medical card system for people on low wages that helps you to get some discounts off but its very hard to get one now, thank you so much for sharing with us Rick and we are so relieved that everything is well with you, and yes get that' how to make a bed' vid made as me and Sean are moving house back to Birmingham this year and as most rental properties are unfurnished we will need a bed haha ! :-) Sending you heaps of love and tons of happiness from right across the Emerald Isle for a WONDERFUL Wednesday ahead XXXXXXX

I am glad to hear you are ok and were well looked after mate. The reason the poor folks in the frontline of the NHS are at breaking point is simply because they have too many customers. It's simple mathematics - there are now too many people in the UK for the public services to scope with efficiently, and continue to deliver a world class service.
It is impossible to scale the NHS quickly enough in line with current net inward immigration numbers, irrespective of how many more tax dollars .gov chooses to retrospectively throw at the problem.
Population is growing without check and the situation will only continue to get worse, as any attempt at sensible conversation on immigration has effectively been nullified by the loony leftwingers.

When its a matter of life or death the NHS are fantastic, but its just not working for people with lesser problems. But like you say its not the fault of the staff on the ground.
The problem is many of the people running it, pushing paper all day are incompetent.

Hope you fully recover soon Rick. For many years I have thought that we should scrap political parties and put in place the best person for that necessary government position. All the parties that have been in power have contributed to the demise of the NHS structure, eventually we are all going to have to take back control. (The incredible NHS belongs to the people) The whole political system wants scrapping. Anyway rant over, look forward to more videos. Thanks for your efforts, I enjoy your channel. Get well soon.

Really glad you are fine, Rick. I hope the pain and discomfort begins to subside.I totally agree about what a wonderful thing the NHS is. I think there are obviously going to be huge funding challenges in the decades to come what with a rising and rapidly aging population and with the increasing costs of medicine. I don't agree that the Tories will ever privatise the NHS in the strictest sense of the word, as it simply wouldn't be in their political interests to do so (more than anything else). Support for a national health service that is free and available at source is something that unites the vast majority of voters of all parties, and abolishing it would basically be political suicide, not to mention result in a long period out of office. But as for the increasing use of private contracts, I think this is likely to continue, as it was introduced by previous Labour governments under Blair and Brown and has continued under Cameron and this Tory administration. To put it bluntly, I don't really have much faith that any of the UK's major or minor parties will do a good job of running the NHS. If Miliband or Corbyn were in power now, I still think we'd be experiencing exactly the same problems. I can only see the problems getting worse in the years to come, mainly for the reasons outlined above. I hope I am wrong!Hope you feel back to normal very soon.

Your not a hippie, and your not weird either! LOL It's the heart, not the one pumping just fine in your chest, it's the heart that carries the soul, and the kindness, and good will, inside. Yes, we all have it, but some know it's there, and some don't. Some feel it, some don't. I do, and that is why you have meant so much to me. Your kind heart was there sharing your life with others, right when I needed something more, than I ever had in my life. You see, my soul had been crushed with the loss of my husband, and your kindness and smiles kept me going. You have a gift. It's real, and it touches others. It's that special spark that one feels when they have a connection. It's called Love, not between humans, but between the soul part of us. It's that silent moment when you know the one before you is there, and all is well. Those that are open to it, find it, and I for one, am so thrilled that you were there for me, and I pray that you stay the person you are, tears and all. Thank you for being my friend, and my heart always wishes you, love, joy, endurance, kindness, and blessings, all the days of your life. Bless, Sheila
