A couple of weeks ago, my almost 17 year old dog had to be put to sleep. The following day I went into a major surgery. Because of your channel I knew to let my anaesthesiologist know that I was grieving terribly as I live alone and was scared to go home to an empty house after my surgery. He and his nurse were so compassionate and spoke with me about going to sleep and thinking of the joyful times with my boy.. thank you.
I feel your pain. April 2022 I had to say goodbye to my Maine coon after 17 years. Then 2 days later I surgery to remove a large lipoma. I was blessed with a great surgeon and anesthesiologist. They understood how I was feeling and comforted me as I was going under and in post op.
Ketamine, lsd and psilocybin are amazing. I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with ADHD. Spent my whole life fighting ADHD. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.
YES very sure of Dr.alishrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, BPD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Yes he's Dr.alishrooms. My daughter did straight shrooms in few days. Made her whole! after words, no more addictions, pains, ptsd and depression. It helped us.
Saw people talking about..checked him out, I must say he's good at what he does. My son is clean 1 year now. Good luck. just micro dose and you won't trip. Mushrooms helped my son get off opioid.
I have used Ketamine nasal spray for over 10 years for chronic breakthrough pain & it has been incredibly helpful in allowing me to shift from being housebound (due to congenital condition affecting my mobility) to being active & exercising with my dogs every day. It has meant the difference between a horribly depressing existence to a fulfilled & enjoyable life.
How have I not heard if this?! I have suffered severe migraines for over 30 years and have been hospitalized more times than I can count any longer, and treated in the ER many many times as well. Can you tell me anything more about how your doctor prescribes this and if this nasal spray is readily available or hard to fill. Thank you for your entry here!
@@bobsundance9297I’ve never tried it for my chronic migraines. Although if you call a compounding pharmacy (you may need to call multiple compounding pharmacies) they may be able to guide you toward a doctor. Most likely it would be an integrative doctor. I have luck with IV Meyers cocktails with additional magnesium and saline IV’s. Good luck.
I remember several years ago heroin addiction destroyed my life, I suffered from severe depression and a mental disorder until I was recommended to psilocybin mushroom treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly I'm 8 years clean now. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.
Can you help me with a reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. It is very hard to get a reliable source here in New Zealand. Really need!
Yes, Sporeville. I had the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction... Mushrooms definitely made a huge difference to why I'm clean today.
I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He's 59 & has many mental health issues plus probably CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD knows if it is common for an obsession with violence.
It sounds like he also had one of the problems that many celebrities and rich people have. Numerous doctors. Getting medication's from many different sources.
I find it strange that no one has mentioned that he supposedly played several rounds of pickle ball that morning, probably sweat..., dehydration, hot tubs and bad hearts are a bad combo. If he was sore and hurting maybe that explains taking the med orally. An electrolyte crash can kill you. Anyone who has a history of drugs and alcohol, needs to know the state of their major organs and what they can and cannot handle. Staying on top of your electrolytes is essential. I feel bad that Matthew Perry is gone, he was a bright shining light, but I hope he is having a beautiful afterlife. He will be forever missed.
I have no alcohol or drugs addiction but Perry's death had a profound impact on me. I felt like I lost someone close to me. I had no attachment to him. It was the strangest experience. I too deeply wish him a wonderful after life. I feel his problems started when he was a cholic baby and doctors put him on drugs. He was a new born. That's insane. I think this is what drove his addiction and mental issues. It's so sad this ever happened to such a good person.
He was one of my favorite actors. My favorite movie is “fools rush in” he said in his book that he got hurt when he was making that movie. Jet skiing or something? And the pain killers they gave him then was the start of his addiction.
@rebeccabamford5505, not to mention he started drinking alcohol at the age of 14. He was most definitely a high risk for addiction at such young age. So sad... Very informative video. I'm happy to hear talk about CRPS and the use of ketamine.
Although I was not a particular Matthew Perry fan & I read only a couple written stories on his passing & when hearing many broadcasts, unavoidable because of his great popularity.... his love of pickleball was always reported, & the fact that he played everyday for literally hours, including that last day. It's well known that suanas & hot tubs can be hazardous to many folks IF they have physical issues that contraindicate using them. I think the pickleball aspect was well reported.
I was offered a 10 treatment session of ketamine. The 1st issue is cost as it’s not usually covered by insurance. Mine didn’t so it was $700 per treatment. I did one treatment. It was fine during but at the end my blood pressure went to 200 and I felt awful for hours. I didn’t go back. Mainly again because of cost. I will say though, that one session, may not have cured my depression completely, but it has made it livable and took away my suicidal thoughts so take that for what it’s worth.
I’ve received ketamine IV for 7 years. Ask the clinic for a superbill. Send to your insurance. If they deny it, then appeal it. That’s how I got a lot of mine paid for. More and more insurances are paying for it including Medicare. Ketamine is used at the VA to help veterans. Be well.
I got ketamine and surgery, and for almost 3 weeks afterwards I was smiling all the time I was happier than I ever have been in my whole life. During anesthesia, I dreamed I was talking to God in a beautiful garden, and God was answering all my questions about suffering and death, and all of that, I wish I remembered the answers he gave, but it was enough to make me ecstatically happy for weeks lol. Sherry is so right!! I am sick and tired of being treated as some sort of a reprobate due to chronic pain!! I’m not responsible for the damned opioid crisis!! I have 7 stenosed vertebrae..cervical and lumbar… along with MS… after being an RN for 40 yrs… a 65 yo well adjusted ( absolutely no street drugs… nothing nefarious at all in my life) and all I want is to get thru a day with normal ADL’s…. Have had a horror story of maltreatment by the restrictions on hood and ethical MD’s no longer permitted to prescribe adequate medication…so do of the suits in DC deciding our health care…. What the heck has happened to the AMA??? It used to have governing power over some decisions!!! Have they all sold out…like, in bulk…to the Big pharm and insurance companies??? And do you foresee any time where they take back their authority???
@@jomarsh6449Fellow nurse here.🙋🏻♀️ You so accurately stated what I've been screaming for about the last 10 years! We do NOT have an opiate crisis. What we have is an illicit fentanyl and heroin crisis. I've been waiting for doctors to collectively stand up to the DEA and assholes in DC. Apparently they're not coming. They are the only ones who can stop this.
@@jomarsh6449another chronic pain patient due to severe scoliosis and four herniated discs, among other back issues. As you said, I am SO SICK AND TIRED of people misunderstanding PAIN or having no compassion for those of us suffering. The attack on opioid drugs is due to DRUG ADDICTS abusing them. There are many people in this country who are prescribed opioid pain medications and take them exactly as prescribed. We people with severe chronic pain are the true victims of this “opioid crisis” because we are stigmatized and judged as drug addicts by doctors, pharmacists and now the general public as well. “Oh he’s on opioids?! He must be a drug addict!” Just so damn frustrating.
I started listening to his memoir, narrated by him this morning. His alcohol & opiate intake was tremendous. He was up to 55 hydrocodone DAILY. He told of taking ketamine treatments in rehab but said it wasn't for him.... The book starts out with him telling about not having a bm for 10 days causing his colon to burst which almost killed him. Tragic story.
I worked in PACU for over 20 years. I worked with many wonderful Anesthesiologists. I feel you're under appreciated and don't always get the recognition you deserve. Thank you and God Bless!
Thank you for addressing Matthew Perry's cause of death. Ppl were pretty quick to be mean spirited toward Matthew Perry. Thank you so much for all you do for us to better advocate for our own healing.❤
In the USA you are basically making yourselves drug addicts. Even if Matt Perry had been "sober" for 19 months, he still was full of drugs, only so called "legal" ones. Prince, M.J. and so many others have died because they get way to easy access by people and doctors pushing drugs for profit. I am all for pain relief when you have strong physical pain. But no one should take opioids and other drugs you get hooked on and need a steady increase in dose.
I’m glad you addressed the whole people who need pain meds are reduced to feeling like drug addicts. I have a very good friend who has had 7 brain surgeries in a 3-year period and has severe chronic pain. Where she goes to get her prescription filled. They treat her like she’s a junkie. She won’t even go there any more. She has her husband pick up her medication. It’s just wrong.
I had my left arm amputated after several surgeries post compartment syndrome. Before my surgeon referred me to pain management, I was humiliated and belittled by an ER Dr and an RN for drug seeking. My EMG showed catastrophic nerve and muscle damage and it wasn't until my pain management team explained the hand has so many more nerve endings, that pain would be a normal response to the severe damage. Thanks one and all of the medical professionals who treat our pain, and frustrations !!!
My doctor is the same. I have responsibly used opiates to control my pain for 8 years with this doctor and others before him. Because of the doctors over prescribing meds and the backlash against that, he treats me like a child that is asking for too much candy. He has called addicts “idiots”. No compassion or understanding of trauma or indeed the pain he is treating.
I have had 13 surgeries in the last 10 yrs due to a continuous failing of an ankle fusion. After every surgery I go onto ketamine for a week (subcutaneous line) I was lying in my hospital bed one night & all of a sudden all the work my psychologist & I had been doing made sense. I knew my parents were narcissistic & I had had some really bad things happen which I always assumed was my abusive X husband. It hit so incredibly powerfully. All of a sudden things made sense in terms of times & details people & cops had reported. It was my mother & eldest brother working together, for years to try & bring me down. Ketamine is a great drug if used right but you need the support as well as the treatment & importantly a Dr who knows what they are doing. Today my foot is still screwed, in & out of OR my brother passed away from a brain tumor & my mother continues to alienate me & play her narcissistic games. The only difference is I know her work although good, is boring & predicable. My journey to heal continues. Stay safe people. Xx
It's funny how in the midst of our valleys of struggles we can find out breakthrough, if we just keep going. Wish you continued healing and strength of body, and spirit. 🙏
@@lulumoon6942 Oh, thank you Hun you’re so kind. It was an unexpected place to arrive at but everything makes so much more sense now. Im grateful I have a great pain specialist. Have a lovely weekend. Xx

@@justrees4929 I’m so sorry for your loss. You’re absolutely right. My entire life I never thought my parents would lie to me. Especially on such a damaging level. I grew up being told my parents were the only true people I can trust in life. To reach your 30’s & find out everything you thought you knew was not & just how detached your parents really are, it’s devastating. I know now they don’t have the ability to love me or be sympathetic. They have & still try to alienate me from family, at my brothers wake my Uncle asked how my foot was & my father stopped everyone talking to yell over to me to “hey get your F## foot cut off”. There is never a sorry or acknowledgment of bad behaviour. I still hope one day things will change but there is nothing I can do for them. I was begging for love & blaming myself every way possible for everything that went wrong in my family. I was even told if my father had a heart attack it was on me. It’s comforting knowing there are others out there that get it. Thank you for the acknowledgment & support. Xx
Respect to Matthew Perry for always being real. You can tell he was really trying with what was in his system. I was waiting to hear from you because I've heard you speak on Ketamine infusions 💯 I really hate we lost such a good man. He had a heart of gold. I was given Ketamin during major surgery to relocate my hip before a knee and hip surgery after a horrible wreck. As a addict in recovery, I will admit I can see what he would of been fond of ☺️ Addiction is a beast man! It's tough because I am a Cancer patient and have been judged by where I put myself in rehab back in 2008 and they pulled my pain meds due to that in 2015 despite the Cancer. Even after the wreck with a broken spine, knee and hip was denied opiates and they wander why there is a street opioid problem! There needs to be a balance in the prescribing so people in real pain don't suffer. Peace to all.
With all the money, riches, attention, and anything you want, still, Hollywood people beneath the surface all seem to be deeply sad, depressed, unfulfilled and in some way addicted to something.
I've learned a lot from this session. Thank you so much. Matthew Perry's former girlfriend said that when he was "using", he would refer to himself at "Mattman". He referred to himself as this in a post on Twitter shortly before his accident. She also said that he was very careful as to not leave anything around when "using". It is truly sad. It almost seems like he was replacing his opioids with his possible use of ketamine while not in the presence of a qualified medical professional. If he drown, the coroner should of reported water in his lungs. 🤷 He's finally free of his addiction now, so sadly. 😢🙏
@tyjn6873 they are accusing him of taking Ketamine off the streets instead of legally. It is a form of treatment administered several ways by health professionals. I'm taking the high road and choose to believe Matthew Perry was taking this form of treatment by health professionals and not by purchasing off the street. If I'm wrong I'll eat crow later.
I have many thoughts on this one. If you don't play along with the "Hollywood Game" then you are offed.. Regardless, He definitely suffered in life, but offered so much laughter. I pray that He is in a better place and at peace.
@@jickie511I don't think he was implying that Matthew Perry was taking ketamine illegally. You can also receive at home oral ketamine legally. Since it is not being administered directly by a medical professional, it is possible for it to be used incorrectly.
Sounds like he was abusing the ketamine along with all the other controlled substances? When famous people do this sorta thing and die from it, it causes people that don’t abuse medication to be treated badly by many in the medical field. From RN’s, Dr’s to pharmacist and all in between. I was given ketamine for a couple surgeries. I honestly didn’t like how I felt recovering. I was giggling and happy. But felt I had no control and embarrassment. BUT my attitude my concentration everything was so much better for months after. Honestly wouldn’t have figured it was from the medication but just what was going on in my life. But knowing how my life goes I haven’t had much clarity in years. Thank you 😊 for informing us all on this subject. You are such a kind man. I wish more in the medical field was kind like you.
Had Matthew Perry used in a Supervised Injection site, he would likely still be alive today. Why? Because Supervised injection sites offer & perform emergency life saving care in cases of overdose. Inside an injection site facility they know exactly what drugs are being used by using Chromatography to find out whats in the drugs, what the purity is. Knowing this data allows these facilities to immediately apply the requisite life saving measures instantly to save lives! Using drugs is a 100% normal part of life for millions of people. Most Heroin & Cocaine users have careers, homes, 2 cars & 2 kids & are happy. Those suffering are the traumatized minority and they deserve far better! They deserve free housing, free food & clean safe drugs. At least until they decide they want something different. They are going to live that way out on the streets anyway! Its up to all of us to change that and improve their lives by offering something better-a way out!
@@sarahjaye4117 People will find relief,..by any & all means necessary. Ketamine infusion therapy helped bring me back from the brink of a very dark place. I'm not sure how much longer I could have gone on at the time, but just over a year later I am healthy and happy. Ketamine doesn't do it alone, but it breaks a terrible cycle that allows you to do the other things that need to be done to heal.

I’m very grateful for your information! I’ve read information from a few people with fibromyalgia who swear by Ketamine, but as a retired RN, I’m instinctively very suspicious. I haven’t always had good experiences with medications for fibromyalgia, and I don’t think I would ever seek Ketamine for my chronic pain. I’m not on opioids, but chronic pain is a burdensome thing.
The best non pharmaceutical treatment for my fibromyalgia has been use of a Power Plate. I combined the Power Plate with 3 caps of Rose Los Angeles CBD capsules. The combo has been a huge game changer for symptoms. Exercise has been the key to elevating pain, fatigue & sleep disorder from Fibromyalgia.

We used ketamine as an anesthesia med cut with something else to ease an animal back from being under for surgery. Watching your vids sure opened my eyes to all the uses it has as well as the types.
@lulumoon6942 Years ago it wasn't classed in a way that made it illegal to possess. If I remember correctly, only rabies vaccines were required to be in possession of a vet but my memory may fall short. That was nearly 50 years ago when we didn't use meds for humans nearly like we do now, and as a wildlife rehabber and vet tech had access to many more meds than now.
I really appreciate that the magic bullet theory is addressed, in that to heal the medication is not the cure, it’s the adjunct which allows one to heal themselves. So many misconceptions about ketamine and psychedelic therapy are carried by the people looking to heal from their suffering. Information like this, as well as access to care and responsible caregivers, needs to be available to that population.
Thanks for all you do, doctor! I had a successful surgery this week, and your videos helped me come in and out of anesthesia with a good mindset. Hope you and your family are well!

Thank you for taking the time to educate us. I suffer from life long depression from childhood trauma. I have tried several antidepressants and also therapy, but none of it seems to help. I drink alcohol to self medicate. I have checked into Ketamine treatment, but it is very expensive here. I feel trapped. Alcohol only helps by giving me a partial time out.
Esketamine (brand name, Spravato) was the first medication that has ever helped my depression. Unfortunately, once a week dosing was not adequate, and twice a week dosing was much too expensive. It was partially covered by insurance, so you might want to see if that would be more affordable for you. There is also a new medication which works on the same receptors that esketamine does. It is called Auvelity. It can become effective within a week after you start taking it, unlike other antidepressant medications. Also, have you checked out TMS, brain stimulation? It helps many people. Unfortunately, it was not very effective for me. It might work really well for you, and should be partially covered by your insurance. Best of luck to you.
Seek that which will fill the whole in your heart. You'll find it hidden within the bible. It's not religion, it's not fixing yourself by yourself. Only your creator can heal your trauma. @davidb1169 I hope you will seek out a skillful Aroma Freedom Technique (AFT) Practitioner. AFT allows us to process emotionally-charged memories (trauma) in minutes with the use of specific aromas. (Our olfactory nerves work closely with our memory center and our "fight-flight" center in the brain; that's why it works.) AFT completely bypasses the need for "talk therapy" (which often doesn't work, anyway). It's so effective that the inventor of AFT, Dr. Benjamin Perkus, realized he was helping more people with AFT than with counseling - so he shut down his counseling practice and now does only AFT. He also trains others to become certified AFT practitioners. It's life-changing and I hope you'll try it! (And I'm lifting up a prayer for your well-being right now.)

I’m to blame for the Celiac’s because cutting out gluten just didn’t seem to help. At all. Anyway, after being in kidney failure, having the ER see my potassium go from 2.2 prior to IV fluids to 2.0 after fluids, they admitted me but there was a LOT of gaslighting going on there as well as with the Hospitalist. Fast forward 3 years and I’m in super bad shape and resisted going to the hospital (I live in a small college town & we don’t have a lot of options. I knew I was dying. I know my body and that’s something docs hold against me. They think I’m med seeking because I know that dilaudid is the only thing that helps when I’m that sick. And that’s it’s own story. Anyway, I gave in and went to the ER. My potassium was 2.0, magnesium was 1.0, I had cardiac enzymes, and about 5 abnormal EKGs. I was in kidney failure and heart failure. I put myself in that position because I refused to be treated like a junkie. They could see my body declining and they still treated me as if I’m malingering and I felt so helpless. Matthew Perry and the cast helped me a lot through life. He was taking ketamine by therapist and from therapist in office only. He got addicted to it and used it recreationally. Ketamine has half life. Half gone after 4 hours. So the week and a half was his last medically known dosage. So what was in his system the day he died wasn't from almost two weeks ago. He was using it for the ketamine highland became addicted. Which he talked about he was addicted to it. He got it from street drug which was pill. And took it and went in a pool which put him in a comatose kinda way and he drowned by accident. His level was 3,000 + which is super high. So yes he relapsed and was taking it illegally without doctor approval at home. And with his heart and lung disease with drowning caused accidental death bc he drowned.
Maybe he overdosed because he thought he coudn't live with Cardio vascular disease. I wouldnt judge him, if he did. I live with chronic health (mental health) problems .Its difficult .Rest in peace Matthew .

I only know ketamine as a large animal anesthetic. To me it is a very powerful drug. I can't imagine giving it to someone who'd had ECT treatments, I am so sorry for all you've been through. I've had depressive episodes but nothing like your situation.
I started IV ketamine therapy for lifelong depression in December 2019. I have repeated the therapy every one to two months since. For me, it's relieved this lifelong albatross from my neck and allowed me to start enjoying life again instead of listening to my mind lie to me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this death and others will not impact the availability of receiving this life-saving drug for me and others that desperately need it. Neuroplastisity is the mind opening up, healing itself and growing. This man, just like Elvis, dealt with life the best way they knew how. The system, your system, let them both down. The system doesn't listen, the system doesn't care. Ketamine is safe when taking properly but it won't fix the problem, maybe Matthews problem couldn't be fixed. Matthew had a good soul, that's why I'm here but, he was a lost soul like the rest of us. I welcome any and all debates but Matthews death was not unique, it wasn't an accident, he died because no one listened or heard his cries for help. Love your podcasts, this neuroplastisty is fascinating and would love to learn more about it from someone that understands it. Merry Xmas everybody
With the level of Ketamine in his system and if he self medicated with it at home could it be possible this was taken as a intentional over dosage as any responsible person would strictly follow dosing orders with such a powerful drug and why would he be able to even be prescribed this at home Ketamine with his LONG HISTORY of DRUG ABUSE,was his chart not flagged? Did his providers skip safer alternatives as TMS,CBD, an Intense Partial Hospitalization of two weeks or longer (Forget the spa like rehabs) regular accupuncture or battle field accupuncture, ongoing tx. with a LCSW, regular appts. with a psychiatrist, whole heath to name a few options, Ketamine should be the last line of treatment in someone with his history. As for him having CAD, no heart attack or stroke was detected in autopsy.I believe the press will use this high profile death as a way to VILIFY KETAMINE, the press are going to get alot of milage out of this case and mislead the public into the mindset that using KETAMINE is a death sentance!
@@171racecar If you have an addiction, you get the drug, no matter what. He writes about this in his book. He also tells about his first ketamine infusion and the circumstances. Some providers seem to still give it to you, no matter what your background is (especially for pain treatment).
@@indigodreamsrecovery 2 possible questions, was this intentional or, was this an accident? Not enough data, I don't believe this was an accident. Intentional could be suicide or murder, again, not enough data. The official cause of death is ketamine and drowning, I stick to my belief that drowning in a hot tub doesn't make sense, not that it can't happen but, the odds are ridiculous. Without more info, the answers will never be known. In this age of technology and knowledge, does anyone believe that this will be closed as, we'll never know or, was this a suicide or murder?
There is already so much stigma and reluctance in using Ketamine for mental health. I hate that his death is being blamed/ connected to his Ketamine treatment. It is so hard to get in Texas. I have had to go out of state until my doc got legal in Texas and could do Zoom type appointments. It has truly saved my life. I am a mental health licenced counseling professional and I have to keep myself healthy. I tell clients to be willing to go to any lengths to get well, and I had to also. I had tried everything... Ketamine is the best. It was hard though putting my pride aside and admitting I needed help. A life altering event like death of my parents and mother in-law 6months apart was too much, but Ketamine sped up the grief work and helped me resolve unfinished business with my father and MIL. I really wish there were more providers and AFFORDABLE ones in Texas.
My business partner died due to ketamine therapy earlier this year too. He was depressed and felt like it would help him keep his recovery in place. Since then I've explored the rebound issues this therapy often creates
I feel like they are trying to put his death on just Ketamine and making Ketamine look bad because of the positive use it's had for Depression,PTSD, Anxiety and such. So many people have been helped from Ketamine and have been able to get off multiple medications for Depression,Anxiety etc. They're losing tons of money because of this. They'll lose even more when psilocybin is more available for mental health treatment. Ketamine oral therapy helped me in ways that 18 years of therapy and 25 plus different pych meds didn't. It's helping so many people and will continue too.
I am SO thankful i found Celebrate Recovery. Because of Celebrate Recovery i am COMPLETELY sober 9 moths and 12 days for the 1st x in 50 years. All i did was open my Bible. I read some words in it and applied those words to me and my life. Now i KNOW THAT MY END WILL NOT BE serching for something. Thank God i found PEACE!
My baby, Bailey (sleek black, medium coat cat) passed away 2 months ago. She was an orphan when she was 2 days old. I literally became her mom. I bottle fed her every 2 hours. I set an alarm to feed her through the night. I took her to work with me for 3 months. Thank God I worked in an office. I put "open, slowly: Kitten at play" on the door. she slept on my lap most of the time at work. when I weaned her off of the bottle she started sucking on my pinky finger. she never stopped it right to the day she passed. she never left my bedroom except to go potty for 15 years. she always slept under my arm and down my torso or on my chest. I begged God too give her back for weeks. I still cry evey day, multiple times. I put her coller, name tag and rabies tag on my key chain. She didn't want to be loved on by anyone except me. God I miss her so much. when my husband buried her, I laid on her grave until it got dark and my husband made me come in. I have some extreme depression, anxiety and PTSD. I don't think I will ever be normal again. 😢❤😢
Sounds like you bonded with your fur baby I feel we will have our pets with us in the next life. Each soul has meaning. You must be very special to feel so deeply toward nature Celebrate your love for each other. Remember your favorite times ❤
I learned so much about ketamine, I love Matt Perry on friends, that’s so sad! I really enjoy donating to the anesthesiologist Foundation, since it was hard for me to go to college because of my cerebral palsy, I really wanted to be an anesthesiologist physician! I’m still waiting on a date for my eye surgery, they are looking for an anesthesiologist at the surgery center, the surgery center is busy! You rock man
A family member of mine was addicted to Ice and Ketamine and some other drugs but thankfully he has completed quit that life style after struggling for many years. He is healthy and successful today because he made the choice to live his life the right way. I am super proud of him.
I take a compounded Katamine nasal spray for breakthrough chronic pain. My health insurance does not cover it, and all it does is make me feel woozy for a few minutes. I noticed my blood pressure was getting higher, and I asked my pain management doctor if it was the Ketamine. He said no. I was put on this medication because of the opioid crisis. I hate that I don’t have my Percocet anymore. I’m tired of getting poor pain management because of this so-called epidemic. Addicts are going to find a way to get drugs no matter what. Pain management patients should not have to suffer because of other people’s choices.
Totally agree. I have been taking pain meds many years for fibromyalgia. I never abuse it and am tired of some treating me like a junkie. I wouldn’t take if not needed. It’s just not fair to chronic pain patients
@@janetalison8384thats so interesting, I have heard of this fairly recently as well. Opioids- all of them- stopped working on me completely 3 years ago. I was on percocet, and others alternating for 5 years for my chronic pain from complex chronic illness (though I developed a large physiological dependence of course because I took them daily over an extended period of time, and thus was labeled a huge addict for being on so many controlled meds and sent to rehab. 8 months of torture and gaslighting. I was on them from different doctors BECAUSE of the crisis and doctors abruptly cutting patients off and so I had to find someone new to HELP me) Anyway. Now I am just on gabapentin. I also take Kratom at times. But isn’t it odd how kratom attaches to the opioid receptors and works, yet NONE of the opioids do anymore….
I was given ketamine for pain after surgery in October and I couldn’t tolerate it. My blood pressure spiked to 200 and it gave me a migraine. I begged them to turn it off. I thought I was going to die right there. I can’t imagine using ketamine outside of the hospital. Even in the hospital it was terrifying. Rest in heaven Matthew Perry we miss you ❤️
I had ketamine for pain after surgery too. I wish they’d warned me how utterly terrifying it would be. I thought I was dying. It was a really awful experience and there’s no way I’d ever have it again!
Ketamine caused sheer terror for me, honestly, no other word for it. I felt surges of incredible terror during which I’d jump up and SCREAM, “Help Me! Help Me!” It was administered in a clinic with a trained professional. I am astonished that it is legal without signing off to the extreme danger. My blood pressure went over 200. Terrible experience.
I use both IV and oral ketamine for CRPS. With severe pain comes depression and anxiety. From this pain back in 2013 , I was bedridden. Nerve pain like CRPS is very intense. I have been down the K whole twice. We now prevent with preloading with Ativan before increasing the IV dose. I started CRPS in 2009 after a fall at work as a nurse. A cable was handing a foot off the floor and I tripped over it. My left wrist was tore. Three months later my hand turned purple ,ice cold, swollen , severe stabbing and burning pain. Also I was unable to bend my wrist. Ketamine has helped to keep me walking. My CRPS spread to all 4 limbs. It’s been 14 rough yrs. Thank you Dr for trying to educate.
My daughter age 22, has full body CRPS since age 19. She also has several other major health issues and had several falls from POTS that lead her to get this dreaded CRPS. She takes monthly ketamine infusions and it has saved her life. She preloads with Ativan, nausea meds and also she gets an IV bag along with her ketamine. The whole process takes about 5 or 6 hours. My heart goes out to all who suffer from this most terrible disease. God bless you. My daughter is a warrior and so are you.
CRPS means "Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome. It is one of the most agonizing pain conditions that exists. POTS is "Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia which means it causes your heart rate to go sky high and then you pass out. Google is a great tool to learn. @@kimwentz442
I had Ketamine infusion treatment as an adjunct treatment with my medication. Life Changing. I was very closely monitored and was participating in regular therapy sessions. It’s made a big difference.
I am happy to hear that you had a medically supervised experience, and that it was so healing for you. I hope you can be an inspiration for those that are also seeking healing 🙏
Thank you for the explanation regarding Matt. When I read that he had IV over a week before, it didn’t make sense to me how it could have been from that Ketamine.
Any Medication that lowers the blood pressure, combined with heart issues, can cause major heart issues in a High Temperature Hot Tub. I myself almost passed out in one from my low blood pressure and cardiomyopathy. Fortunately, I was able to push myself up to where I could sit on the edge, and I had a cold thermos of water. But... It was a frightening struggle.
Thank you so much for sharing. You have made such a positive impact on my life. I actually posted a couple months ago after my first ketamine treatment. I wanted to share that I had a very positive experience with Ketamine therapy. I was at my wits end and I'm so happy to report that I have finally made it over the hump of anxiety and depression. I'm finally able to maintain positive daily routines out of my room and out of my house🎉 . My Ketamine infusion was scheduled under medical supervision. I'd never ever to do this as recreation. It was a therapeutic treatment, but never a "high". I only recommend it under medical supervision.
So many people are using drugs to hope with mental and physical challenges. This saddens me terribly!!! I'm so glad exercising has been the right dose for me all of my life. God bless the individuals that are suffering.
I went from not knowing a thing about Ketamine until hearing it from Maya Kowalski's case and now Matthew. Thank you for your videos, i'm learning something new all the time.
Over 40 years ago my veterinarian OD from Ketamine after hours at his office. Scared me to death. He must have been in a very bad space to do that, even accidentally.
That's scary! I could NEVER have access to meds like the medical community does!!! I spend most days daydreaming about exiting society into nature & learning to survive! If I could live in society & feel like it's a dream that would be addictive for sure!
Used properly, under medical supervision, Ketamine is very safe. It sounds like Matthew was mixing oral Ketamine with the other medication he mentioned. You can get oral Ketamine legally, by mail order, as the doctor mentioned. It seems risky to me since you administer it to yourself. To me, it opens up the possibility of abuse.
Your family are not doctors and not the best source of medical guidance. Ketamine when used correctly saves lives. In this case it was mixed with other substances. Please inform yourself
@@ScatterbrainFilms-k8ohow so? Bcs he was doing ketamine therapy and on suboxone? As far as i know/knew he wasnt just using ketamine or opiates from the street and had prescriptions for both for trying to get better and recover… curious on your perspective but I also dont rlly know too much about all the details
Thank you for explaining the impacts of Ketamine more in-depth. I listened to his memoire 3x and he was extremely open in sharing all details of his medical history - it's pretty amazing he was still alive after what he went through. I think after all that medical history his body was a pretty fragile ecosystem to begin with. So sad though - what an amazing human with such a strong desire to help those inflicted with addiction.
I suffered from depression. My body did not react well to anti-depressants--in fact, the meds made things worse. It wasn't until 18 years later my doctor ordered an extensive blood panel and discovered my Vitamin D was in the basement. My body can't process D from the sun. After mega doses of prescription strength D, I got back on track. It sounds like Matthew's doctors sold him a "get well quick" scheme and failed him miserably.
His doctors didn't let him down, he did. He has been an addict from the git go . Perry took drugs. His colon exploded and he still took drugs. Nothing was going to stop him because he was beyond help. He couldn't help himself either. I've never been a big fan but was aware of his addictions and so hoped he would make it but.... Please don't blame others, this is on him.
You are so appreciated! You stick out your neck for us. 😂 I was famous when I was younger...and I would have "Trolls" attempting to pull me down Never..never let that happen to you. Ignorant & rude comments aren't necessary or right, you're right. I do wonder if he had the covid 💉 s though & if something happened due to that. All those incidents are being hushed.
@@straighttalknomessing3934I hadn't heard about it at all until the upcoming notification of this video, which I saw only 5 minutes before video began. I don't have a teLieVision. I will see if I can see anything on UA-cam or Uk column on Rumbl3 or Gb news about it. I apologise if I came across as rude in the livestream, but I'm sick & tired of those deaths being classed as other things. I don't think I was rude, enthusiastically questioning is what I was doing & letting others know. I also don't know if the Dr on here heard it off TeLieVision & if he did then we all need to be mindful not to trust information from teLieVision, don't we!?
Of course he took the jabs. Did you miss his PSA's about getting them, and telling everyone to get them, and shaming those who didn't ? He even marketed his own T shirt about how great the jabs were. It was disgusting actually. @midazolamdeathcount3009

I am so glad you posted this video. I've been receiving ketamine infusions for the past two years, and I know without a doubt they saved my life, but as soon as I heard the news that ketamine was found in a famous actor's toxicology report, I immediately saw it as a massive setback in the acceptance of ketamine as a viable and safe alternative to traditional antidepressants. I hope more people watch your video and realize that, when used safely, ketamine is a miracle drug, not a silent killer.
Would you mind sharing your weight and doseage, route, etc? Also, how many sessions in the first exposure, and then how often you go for maintenance? I'm going in August for 6 sessions IV. I think he said he's starting me at 50. I've had it before, and had a bad vasal vagal reaction the first time. I also dissociated every time, mostly neutral dissociation. It greatly helped my executive function which brought my mood up but I wasn't able to continue because of Covid. Now it is free I Canada for treatment resistant depression.
I think it’s a difficult balance when you’re a recovering addict and searching for healing. Ketamine is a wonderful tool to healing but I also know people who have abused Ketamine which of course is quite dangerous. My feeling, as a recovering addict myself, he thought “if some is good, more is better” and unfortunately he took too much coupled with the suboxone and a strained heart and a hot tub. That’s it. Very sad
Great information thank you just going to say my neighbor had a heart attack and nearly drowned in his hot tub had his wife not been there he might not be here, he doesn’t do any drugs but his doctor had already warned him that there are dangers in hot tubs with people who have heart disease
My daughter had surgery this past Wednesday, and because of you, i have learned so much and was able to ask the anatheologist if he planned on using katamine, and i was surprised at his response. He stated he doesn't like to use katamine , saying it's a good drug, and he does use it in certain circumstances , but generally speaking, it isn't his go-to. Can you maybe explain what he means by that?
I respect anesthesiologist with every cell in my body. They are educated and want the best for patients. They would come to the ER during a code and were such a great resource.
Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!
Yes, dr.sporessss I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.
Why do so many artists die in tubs? Whitney Houston, Bobby Christina, Aaron Carter, Mathew Perry ,not to mention the ones that drown in their swimming pools. Kinda creepy.
High temperature in a tub, or losing body temperature in a cold one. Going unconscious and drowning. Don't drink in a hot tub, don't get in water if drinking or on any drugs, even prescribed.
It's better to drown in warm water in the comfort of your home I guess. Or they underestimate the sedation effects of drugs, just like alcohol and hottubs don't mix.
Thank you so much for explaining the affects of drugs and misuse. The more you can educate the better. My husband died due to methadone overdose in 2004. Same circumstances as this. The loss is great and knowledge is power.
I currently am on 16 months of ketamine therapy and also am being treated with suboxone and have been for 2.5 years. I’m actually almost completely tapered off of the suboxone. Ketamine helped me turn the page. I want to stress how much ketamine helps. Just be careful with anything you put in your body. Us addicts don’t know how to moderate, even when we’re trying to fix ourselves.
Even people with healthy hearts have to be careful about hot tubs. The ones which are open to hotel guests or condo guests usually have warning signs. No one should be in there alone. I encourage everyone to read Matthew Perry's book. It's excellent, and will help many people understand addiction better. RIP MATTHEW 💔🙏
Hi Doc. Thanks so much for taking and sharing such a balanced view of drugs like Ketamine and opioids. I've needed both and they both worked well for me. No addiction. I'm glad you also mentioned opioids. I have an old back injury which won't heal permanently. My doc prescribes Oxycontin which gets a very bad rap now. He knows I only use it responsibly. One or two when my back hurts so much I literally can't stand. So that I can get up and to him and my physio.
Cannabis is strongly contra-indicated with my mental condition. And since my pain is extreme but acute it doesn't work well. I also avoid self medicating. If a doc isn't prescribing it, I'm not taking it.
I don’t know why people are minimizing this man’s death. It was a horrible thing that happened. It was so sad I get that, but Matthew Perry abuse drugs for years. He wasn’t simply a victim of emotional distress. He was a millionaire. He had it all, and he made choices to drink excessivelyto do drugs, and eventually he spiled out of control and lost his life. He never recovered. Why are we now making him look like such a victim? It was a sad thing that happened all the way around that he was not without blame for his own illness.
Very informative! I haven’t heard of ketamine until today. I also didn’t know he had heart disease. It’s so sad that he was trying to get better then dies using the drugs that were supposed to help him. We have serious mental health issues in this country. It needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP.
He also had emphysema and diabetes 😢 After he passed I read the that jacuzzis etc are dangerous because hot water, saunas and even hot weather mimics exercise and puts strain on the heart and drops your blood pressure. They are dangerous for seniors who have high (or low) blood pressure, diabetes, or heart problems. Hot tubs should be avoided by elderly people who have chronic lung problems or who take certain medications. I really wish he knew this 😢 Rest in paradise Matty 🕊️
Hate to say it but sounds like MP was doctor shopping for Ketamine fixes. Surely each provider he went to would consider the other sources of Ketamine he was getting. They probably didn't know how much he was getting. So sad that he died so young and it was preventable had he been under the close supervision of just one doctor.
thank you for seving so many comunites thru your work and videos- harm reduction is so important on the street and......in the teatment setting. all love
12:18 😮 K Hole. So my husband has Crohn’s disease and the ER had given him Ketamine for his pain. He said he felt horrible and said that he felt like his body was not his own, and his level of anxiety was out of control. He said he was having the worst dissociation ever. The nurse told him it was normal!! 😢 Now that I know this information I will be passing it to him. That is not okay at all.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm really concerned that this will make ketamine the bad guy when there are so many amazing uses for it. His death was so sad but there were more factors than ketamine alone.
What I noticed about ketamine being on it for two years, is that it temporarily fixes the depression and anxiety and PTSD but once you’re off of it, and it wears off, the depression, comes back

Ketamine, lsd and psilocybin are amazing. I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with ADHD. Spent my whole life fighting ADHD. Thanks for sharing this great information, this would help my son.
He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD knows if it is common for an obsession with violence.
Is he on Instagram?
Yes, he is, Sporeville.
I totally agree. I felt all that had an impact on him that day as well. Playing pickleball and the hot tub was a bad combo.
Dang, $700? Mine were $250. I stopped going too b/c my 4th treatment wasnt good. It wasn’t the drugs fault though.
The same thing happened to me. I was stopped during the session.
Some people’s bodies don’t handle it very well. I can handle it just fine. But there’s a lot of people can’t take it.

That is a sign God was with you. He gives you a lasting peace.

In the USA you are basically making yourselves drug addicts. Even if Matt Perry had been "sober" for 19 months, he still was full of drugs, only so called "legal" ones.
Prince, M.J. and so many others have died because they get way to easy access by people and doctors pushing drugs for profit.

When u don’t have God in ur life u have nothing
I've learned a lot from this session. Thank you so much.
Matthew Perry's former girlfriend said that when he was "using", he would refer to himself at "Mattman". He referred to himself as this in a post on Twitter shortly before his accident.
She also said that he was very careful as to not leave anything around when "using".
It is truly sad. It almost seems like he was replacing his opioids with his possible use of ketamine while not in the presence of a qualified medical professional.
If he drown, the coroner should of reported water in his lungs. 🤷
He's finally free of his addiction now, so sadly. 😢🙏
So what kind of drugs was he on
@tyjn6873 they are accusing him of taking Ketamine off the streets instead of legally.

Wow, you are the best. Most underrated doc yet. Wish you were my doc - I will visit your clinic Clarus Health in san fran.
Its awful as some really need the medicines whether ket, pain medicine, benzo etc 😢
@@sarahjaye4117 People will find relief,..by any & all means necessary. Why this country resists making those reliefs readily available, in pure form in easy to measure dosages I cannot understand & the result of not doing this is deaths, HIV, Hep C, MRSA, & TB transmissions! Injection wounds that result in amputations or the very least endocarditis!

So many misconceptions about ketamine and psychedelic therapy are carried by the people looking to heal from their suffering. Information like this, as well as access to care and responsible caregivers, needs to be available to that population.

I would also recommend a good psychologist
Seek that which will fill the whole in your heart. You'll find it hidden within the bible. It's not religion, it's not fixing yourself by yourself. Only your creator can heal your trauma. But you must seek him and you will find him. After 40 years of chronic depression that led me to a really sad despondent life, I sought a bigger answer and found it. Never had another day of depression since 8 years ago. I hope you find relief.
@@HGCUPCAKES When I was going through a difficult time dealing with my mother and family issues, a good psychologist helped more than any psych pill did - and I'd been on many. They didn't help the issue. They only acted like alcohol, lowering my inhibitions to handle the situation in a way that made matters worse. Going off psych meds and learning how to deal with my family issues made all the difference in the world.

I put myself in that position because I refused to be treated like a junkie. They could see my body declining and they still treated me as if I’m malingering and I felt so helpless.

My business partner died due to ketamine therapy earlier this year too. He was depressed and felt like it would help him keep his recovery in place. Since then I've explored the rebound issues this therapy often creates
@@putthecandleback9 do you mind sharing more about what happened to your partner? I’m sorry for your loss.
He didn’t die from the therapy. The amount in his system was much higher than what he received in therapy.

It's helping so many people and will continue too.
the heat in the hotub probably sped up the metabolism of the medications as well...

Thank you for everything you do it’s a hard life out there and very easy for addiction to happen
I agree !
I was on them from different doctors BECAUSE of the crisis and doctors abruptly cutting patients off and so I had to find someone new to HELP me)
Anyway. Now I am just on gabapentin. I also take Kratom at times. But isn’t it odd how kratom attaches to the opioid receptors and works, yet NONE of the opioids do anymore….
@@NurseSue425 I have Fibromyalgia too, along with other painful disorders.
Rest in heaven Matthew Perry we miss you ❤️
I didn't like it either.
Hugs and prayers to you ❤
My daughter age 22, has full body CRPS since age 19.
Can somebody tell me what is crps & pots?

I was very closely monitored and was participating in regular therapy sessions. It’s made a big difference.
I am happy to hear that you had a medically supervised experience, and that it was so healing for you. I hope you can be an inspiration for those that are also seeking healing 🙏
YOUR AWESOMENESS IS SO VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
Thank you for the explanation regarding Matt. When I read that he had IV over a week before, it didn’t make sense to me how it could have been from that Ketamine.
I agree, is likely from another source of ketamine, quite possibly oral, but it is difficult to know for certain
It raises blood pressure
Hey how you doing now?

So glad someone is addressing this. I was so confused by the news reports.
Room for true healing to come in
Would you mind sharing your weight and doseage, route, etc?
We rarely hear warnings about hot tubs not being suitable for everyone.
Thanks for explaining this.

Dr Kava thank you for sharing the information that you have. Very interesting.
Jim Morison
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
How do you go about getting treatments for ketamine
Yeah how are you getting ketamine while being on Suboxone? They denied me everywhere.
I just learned of the M.E. report. Now it all makes sense. Too much heat with those drugs can cause major issues.
So glad you are there to explain this!
Cannabis

He also had emphysema and diabetes 😢
After he passed I read the that jacuzzis etc are dangerous because hot water, saunas and even hot weather mimics exercise and puts strain on the heart and drops your blood pressure.
They are dangerous for seniors who have high (or low) blood pressure, diabetes, or heart problems. Hot tubs should be avoided by elderly people who have chronic lung problems or who take certain medications.
I really wish he knew this 😢
Rest in paradise Matty 🕊️
Hate to say it but sounds like MP was doctor shopping for Ketamine fixes. Surely each provider he went to would consider the other sources of Ketamine he was getting. They probably didn't know how much he was getting. So sad that he died so young and it was preventable had he been under the close supervision of just one doctor.
Ketamine being administered in California would entail a report to CURES (Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System).
Maybe he was going to other states for treatment.@@RobG1729

What I noticed about ketamine being on it for two years, is that it temporarily fixes the depression and anxiety and PTSD but once you’re off of it, and it wears off, the depression, comes back
