    Nice recipe! You can replace about 15% of the flour with Vital Wheat Gluten with just about no taste / texture difference and it makes the macros even sexier!

    • @Pornegon
      @Pornegon 7 місяців тому +11

      It does improve the macros, but not by as much as you'd want to believe. Gluten has PDCAAS of 0.24 as opposed to casein's 1 or beef's 0.92, its quality and digestibility is literally a quarter of that of animal protein sources. Yet some fitness cooking influencers like Exercise4CheatMeals treat it like it's actual high quality protein and provide inflated macros for their food as a result. It's either very dumb or outright malicious, and I'm glad Rahul doesn't do that.

    • @nopenope1
      @nopenope1 7 місяців тому +1

      @@Pornegon TBF - at least how I understand the essentials amino acids... the missing Lysine (as an example) could be compensated with other food, which is high on it. The non essentials the body can 'create'. The cheese, greek yogurt brings a lot to it as well.
      And, best part of adding vital gluten to that dough, the dough will be less sticky and easier to handle. As long as you don't push it, the dough goes too rubbery ;)
      My limit is 100g vital gluten, 400g flour (10g per 100g), 40g grounded psyllium husks, 550ml water and 1g dry yeast (or less) plus 8g salt for a batch of my pizza dough. Mixed together in a kitchenmachine, 1-3h room temp, than 1-4 days in the fridge.

    • @roygon
      @roygon 7 місяців тому +1

      @@nopenope1 Yes this is right, if you are getting a wide range of good protein sources then having some sources not be complete proteins is not really an issue. Even the greek yogurt has a poor PDCAAS score although it is a complete protein. I believe It becomes an issue when all or most of your protein comes from incomplete or poor sources but even then most people get a pathetically low amount of protein in their diet so you are still miles ahead of the general population

    Due to the fact that food labels are mid at best about telling you about nutrition. You may as well substitute shredded bag cheese with fresh authentic mozzarella balls. I enjoy making home made pizza all the time using fresh mozz, (I also don't have a stone or brick oven so I mostly make NY style pizzas) if your worried about the moisture you can combat it by tearing the ball into tiny chunks and patting them down with a paper towel. It's so stringy and gooey I definitely recommend it.

    All these people are hating, if you want even better macros look else where but most of us aren’t crash dieting all the time , our macros doesn’t have to be 1500 calories and 150g of protein, which u can still achieve with this pizza btw, just see if it fits into ur macros , maybe it’s a higher calorie treat which won’t destroy your macros like a traditional pizza.
    If it doesn’t , unlucky maybe you can use this recipe another day or use it as inspiration for your own variation.
    Not everyone wants to eat low carb wraps/ cloud bread pizza , they want something close to the original where they can’t tell the difference or even better

    I gotten to the point I would rather have more cheese and not worry about crust. I would just do egg white crust if needed or low carb tortillas. This is too high in calorie for what I would need to do which is add way more cheese lol. Next time I do pizza I'll make the crust pretty much meatloaf. I forgot to add eggs so it was just meat sauce turkey pep and more cheese. Was so good. When it comes to diet pizza I need lots of cheese and sauce and meat. So I can't bother having over 600 calorie crusts. But I do eat pretty much omad most days. So I could fit it easily. So this is also a nice option. Next time I make pizza I'm trying two low carb wraps with cream cheese in the middle then add the pizza part. Looks like it'll be fire.

    water 75 gram
    salt 3.4 grams

    total of the pizza dough 399 calories

      The point of this is to LOSE weight. Frozen pizzas are so full of garbage (sugars, chemicals & preservatives) you’ll struggle to lose weight- and forget about maintaining muscle if you do - you would also risk increasing the likelihood of experiencing insulin resistance making it even harder to lose weight.

    I hate it when fitness channel make protein donut or low calorie pizza whatever, but they don't even bother make a proper yeast dough. The reason why donuts, pizzas, breads taste so good is because of the yeast fermentation. It gives that signature taste that everyone love. Calling something a donuts, or pizzas without yeast dough is a blasphemy and an insult.

      Yep. Everyone - you can *use regular AP flour*. The added leavener in self-rising won’t help with leavening if the dough is left in the fridge over night. You may get some additional lift in the 1 hour method though. I don’t really like super puffy pizza dough though. I did the overnight with normal AP flour and it turned out well. I’ve been baking bread and pastries - including yogurt based doughs - for several years now and Rahul is on to something here. Yogurt can give you great bread results. Adapting this for healthier pizza dough makes a lot of sense.

And I ate homemade cheeseburgers, homemade pizza, and homemade Asian chicken and still lost weight. I have to use gluten free flour or tortillas for my pizza. But this is a lower calorie pizza.
