- Hi guys! We left Glasgow in our rental car for a week driving around western Scotland. We started off near Oban and the Isle of Mull and continued upward to the Isle of Skye (stopping to see Glen Coe of course!) It was a wildly beautiful trip and I'm so thankful to Kayla for driving on the other side of the road (and oftentimes off the road) for this trip to happen!

I know you've been sharing on Instagram that these videos are not performing well because of the algorithms or whatever, but please don't let that discourage you from making more content like this. I have to be honest and admit that these Scotland vlogs have been my favorite vlogs of yours in a long long long time, the scenery you've captured and the genuinely pure and hilarious moments you had with your friend is so precious. Literally one of the most wholesome vlog series on your channel in my opinion. I cant wait to see your film photos, I had so much fun watching this it is truly a beautiful country. I often look at other vloggers who travel and I think to myself, I wish caricakes went to this place because you capture the world in such a charming way. Scotland looks like a dream, the nature is so unspoiled like out of a movie, and its a nice break from the urban landscape of Seoul. Sorry for making this long but I had a lot to say. Literally same. For me (I’m from Germany) it’s possible to travel there now (COVID time) but I’m soo unsure if I should.. but this might be my last chance before the Brexit.

Why did this make me cry? I went to Scotland for the first time last year (2 months before Cari) and I just had no idea how incredibly welcoming Scots are. Left a permanent imprint on my heart.
The Scottish penguin is a cormorant 😂 but actually I'm all for calling it a Scottish penguin from now on 👏👌

Living in Scotland we really do take the West Highlands for granted, every time I travel north I'm shocked that this is my country and that I barely ever head up that way.
The word that always comes to my mind with the scenery here is "dramatic", especially with the weather .... jaggy green hills with dark clouds rolling in over them, shadowy glens with steep rocky mountains rising up on either side and then suddenly the sun will break through and the landscape opens up for miles... love it and love when people visit and really enjoy their time here.
As someone who used to work in PR for VisitScotland, you have captured what Scotland really is. Great shots... but there is still much to see.. glad you enjoyed it. Return any time to our bonnie shores.

I went on a family holiday to the Isle of Mull when I was maybe 6-7 years old... and absolutely hated it. We stayed in a tiny village (if you could even call it that.. there were maybe 12 houses around a tiny bay?) the opposite side of the island from Tobermory. We went because my Dad loves nature and wanted to see the becautiful Golden Eagles in the wild... but the isolation and bleakness was too much for little me. For a few years now I've been thinking how I'd love to visit Scotland again, but you know what, I think you've inspired me. I NEED a full blown Scotland road trip asap, those landscapes and views are too stunning to miss out on. Too bad I'm living in Korea until the summer.. but hey, being a Brit I can definitely do it some day soon! Thanks for the beautiful vlog Cari, loved it as always :)

Scotland is a whole different creature if you go in June. Those looong hours of daylight 4am til 11pm with a campfire on a beach in the North West create memories you never forget

It really is! There were so many times that we were just like - is this real?
Lots of the places they went to ARE straight out of a movie. Old man of Storr - Alien - covenant, Eilean Donan - Highlander, Glencoe - Braveheart, Harry Potter, Monty Python and the Holy grail. There's so many more movies that have been filmed around that area.

I saw a picture of that sunset before you said where it was on insta and I KNEW it was Oban. I am Scottish and have seen sunsets all over the country but nothing beats Oban (we say it like O-bin :) ) thank you for these videos, I love seeing people I follow come here and love it like we do ❤️
You need to drive along the Road to the Isles, towards Mallaig. The sunsets from the beaches past Arisaig are even more stunning.

In the summertime going for a swim in the fairy 🧚♀️ pools is something special. I live in Edinburgh but have lived and loved all these beautiful places my whole life (46yrs) and spend every year revisiting again and again, always in wonder and awe. Scotland 4 ever 🏴 💙
