- Hi guys! On my way home from Scotland to Seoul, I had a 19 hour layover in Helsinki. I've always wanted to visit Finland so I thought I'd get a tiny taste of it before I plan a proper trip back someday. I was amazed at how much I could get done in Helsinki!!

Olsie Asum yes i always try to carry on only :) during my trip in scotland the places we stayed had laundry machines so i was able to pack light and just wash my clothes!!

If you want to see beautiful and colourful nature then i suggest that you go late september to the norther part of Finland.
Sometime come see other parts of our country too. :)

You came in Helsinki just the right time. After that day it has been raining literally everyday. Typical finnish autumn weather but you avoided it :D Next time if you come, visit autumn or winter time in Lapland for couple days, it's totally different in the north!

I was thinking the same thing! :D I noticed that you were more like us calm finns! Sometimes people from other countries are so loud (in wrong places / wrong times) and they don't even seem to notice it or pay any attention to their surroundings. You seemed very respective and cool ❤

@@caricakes There are actually many other faculties at the central campus as well, for example law and social sciences (which are not humanistic ;). Faculties like medicine and natural sciences are located a bit farther from the center.
And theology is there as well!

When u visited helsinki and went to the marketplace there was this "Herring fair" which has been held once a year since 1743. :-)

This was lovely! I've lived in the "metropolitan area" of Finland (if you can even call it that) my whole life so I'm very familiar with the downtown area, but somehow you made it all feel fresh and new. It was so refreshing seeing something you know so well through the eyes of someone who's never seen it before. I loved watching you explore Helsinki and I'm so glad you liked it ❤️

I've been living in Helsinki my whole life and I started studying at the university two monts ago. The university library is my place to be! It was fun folllwing your day in Helsinki :)
Finnish salmon soup recipe:
6 potatoes
2 carrots
2 onions
800 ml of water
½ teaspoon of allspice peppercorns
1 bay leaf
400 grams of salmon or rainbow trout fillet
200 ml of cream
1½ teaspoon of salt
90 ml of fresh dill
1. Wash, peel and chop the vegetables. Boil them with allspice and bay leaf until nearly done.
2. Remove the skin and bones from the salmon. Cut the flesh as cubes.
3. Add cream, salt and salmon. Boil in a low heat for about 5 minutes.
4. Add dill and serve with rye bread.

Awww, this vlog is so warm and cozy ☺️ itching to visit Helsinki now! I would also like a video on how you plan for the trips, decide on which sights to see etc. And just in general how you plan your content (even the simple vlogs) and sticking to the plan! I tend to plan out my weekends month ahead but then I see a new cool cafe on Insta and suddenly all my planning seems so outdated, like you know “so last season” . I end up in scrapping everything and starting anew, which isn’t very efficient. Impart some planning wisdom on us, mortals, Cari! 🙏🏻😀
