Nicely DONE!!! I remember buying our 1st home, HUD repo, and the builders used the WORST paint ever so one of the 1st projects to redo. Folks told us the navy colored paint we picked wasn't LIKE the rest of the addition. Exactly, not an earth tone beige person. White trim with a more burgundy accent completed the scheme. After it was done and we added brick accents on either side of the driveway to tie it together. All the naysayers came by and were thrilled with the choice. I planted a japanese maple for my front yard tree, and that added the wow factor.
Great! You’ve inspired me to sort out the couple of steps at my front door. I won’t be doing anything fancy but your step by step guide including tools and products gives me confidence. Thanks for sharing.
You did a great job! I’m really pleased you shared all the products as well because I currently have a tiny, hideous concrete “porch” that has cracked and separated from the house. When initially moving in we had it caulked to create a protective barrier between the house and concrete porch but in just a few years it’s completely sagged, even falling apart 🤦🏻♀️ and water, dirt and black widow spiders get in to the basement through that ginormous crack so I’ll be looking into filling in that crack with something more durable and long lasting like the rapid set concrete and bonder and then apply that super thick epoxy to ensure no more cracking occurs! The stencil turned out so nice, mine always bleed through but I’m betting I just use waaaay too much paint so that was fun to see. Now personally I’d never go for white as the finishing paint color because I’m lazy and wouldn’t be good about cleaning constantly to keep it white but I love the idea of perhaps staining the concrete to get a more subtle color look... I’m not sure if it’s be possible with the difference in color between 3 different products but I’m curious about it and if I did end up painting I’d definitely use the track sand and go with a lighter color (not white) that’d hide dirt and everyday messes or perhaps a stunning deep red... even stencil a 🧱 brick pattern with multiple colors or maybe even tile on real thin brick... options are endless and I really appreciate you sharing everything you did and step by step! You’ve always been so thoughtful about including all the important details, advice and tips while also ensuring you have footage showing us exactly what we’d need or how to do, etc. wonderful job as always 🤟🏽
Thanks so much for the detailed response JewDd. I greatly appreciate all your support and input. I actually also got a brick stencil from them as well so you might actually see that come into play in the very near future :) Also, great to see that you noticed how detailed I am with the instructions. I'm not on UA-cam just to show others all the cool things I'm building. My true passion is helping others learn how to build and create, which is why I work hard to detail out all of the instructions to help the end viewer in the long run. Thanks again for all of your support.
Happy this just came up on my video feed!! I've been wanting to redo our front porch for a year now, & this is the best video I've watched, plus our porches, & front door are almost exact look. We have the brick flower beds on both sides of our porch. Great Job love the non skid finish!!
I’ve watched this video a lot.... I am doing the exact same project. Thank you for making it it has helped me tremendously. As for the white it has grown on me every time I’ve watched it. Thanks
It look absolutely GORGEOUS, and very inviting!! I would love to do this on my driveway! Thank you for making this video to share with us! Very creative!! 👍
Great stuff...I'm about to embark on a similar project on a 95-year-old house...not sure how old the porch is but it's OLD. Won't be putting a decal design on but otherwise your project is what I needed to see before embarking on my own. Thanks, and keep up the good work and great videos!
Crisp, clean and amazing. Not that it was an easy refresh (I do not envy you working with the grinder but the end-result is awesome!), but you totally transformed your entrance. Years ago I flipped a house with a similar main entrance. I used a wire brush in a drill and cleaned/pressure washed the area and did a similar technique. In lieu of a stencil I painted a faux rug. The entrance was a definite plus. The impact of a stunning entrance make-over cannot be overlooked.
Rather than paint...you can use deck resurfacer which also adds texture and may last longer. I did my front porch and sidewalk in this way...after patching. It lasted for years. The product is much thicker than paint and is less slick. You don't need to add an anti-skid additive either.
I used the same stuff on my patio, walkway and back and front porches. I appreciate the non skid surface but it’s coming up where there are cracks. I should have fixed that first, I guess. 🤷🏽♀️
Great work! Makes the place look new. Our neighbors had old outdoor carper glued all over their front steps & fanned out on the concrete pad below - very difficult to grind off so they built a beautiful little deck on the front. It looked great, added chairs & planters.
For a crisper look on the stencil you can paint white first let dry, then paint desired color .the colored paint can’t bleed through if the white already has .
Wow, what a transformation. Those floral designs are an integral part of southern indian culture that you can find in front of the houses. It's Rangoli
Going with white ourself! Thank you for the entire details of just exactly how to make out front entry porch look beautiful white pop!! Love the white and stencil!
Really easy to understand for beginners like me! Thank you - was going to have my steps taken out and replaced but maybe I can makeover the steps instead.
Love your videos. You are very talented. This one came at the perfect time. Just bought a house yesterday and the porch needs repainted. Only mine is 6x20 or so. Lots of grinding! I do like the white. But as I hunt/fish and walk farm fields for work white won’t work for me. But yours does look good.
Loved the design, we are also diy-ing our house and our motto is to do/design what pleases OUR eyes. Thanks for this video because we are about to restore our outdoor floor. 😊
Great job! Thanks for the tutorial. We are probably going to do this next year since have to work on painting the door, doorway and window shutters. This is the best video on updating cent stairs. :)
Gorgeous, clean, neat, pretty, steps u wanna hang on, cutting edge stencil makes a difference tones down the brightness 👍🏻 u did great & u make a huge difference in r world thank you 😍
Looks awesome! Great job!!! You are way braver than I am painting it white! I want to paint my front porch and the stencil gives me something to think about! One thing, the "L" in caulk is silent.
Great job! Now you need to fly over to Greece and sort my patio bbq area out! The slabs look awful after 15yrs. I’m hoping masonry paint will spruce it up, after cleaning 😊
I like the "before" version better, at least the random patterned eroded blue paint. Just my aesthetic style I guess. Good to learn about how to fix the cracks and sagging portions! Thanks! 👍👍
Beautiful color choices and design. If it were mine I’d carry a small portion of the design and stencil that on each step. I wouldn’t cover the whole step, I’d just stencil a little piece of it in the middle of it to add more color and design; this would break up some of that white a little as well.

Great to hear Helder and I couldn't agree more. Thanks so much for watching and your support.
This is very important for all
Lovely
House paint not going too heavy
I have been watching videos about restoring concrete for two months now. Your video is the best one out there. Great job. And thank you.
In India in rural homes, the front verandah is washed every morning and patterns made with white powder called rangoli , that design reminds me of it.
Indian do have clean verandah. My indian neighbours wash their verandah evry morning here in malaysia. 👍👍👍👍👍

Beautiful! It’s a lot of work, but worth it. I’d argue against white. As you say, it’s not likely to stay white without frequent pressure washing.
