So glad to find this video. I got a laugh outta you adjusting that stencil😅 I can only imagine what I'll be looking like.. Oh, now I see why the privacy fence gets done first ! I'll be consulting your video throughout my spring project. Thank you so much.
lol 😂 I’m happy you’ll give it a shot!
yes, you are indeed a teacher--very instructional and laid out well. Good work!
Great video, was curious to see what I can do with my concrete and this looks great and cheap, how did it hold up years later?
wow ! That look fab...beautiful. How has it held up? And did you add a sealer? It literally transfromed your patio. I have been afraid to paint the trigger but after seeing this.....I am on it next week! My project =)
😄
You are a beauty!
For a none tradesman you did well. Next time try use a chalk line, it'll get your lines perfect for you so all the guess work is eliminated
Your cute as a button. You didn’t say anything about finish sealer? To protect from weather and wear.
PLEASE HELP 😊
I want to paint a design onto my cement steps. With acrylic paint and small paint brushes for detail. Im painting the face of the steps so you see the design facing you as you walk up them. What should I apply as a base coat BEFORE painting on my design. Also, what sealer do I apply at the end. I live in an area that snows. Thank you.
@@kal-w6i I would suggest paint specifically intended for concrete otherwise it will chip. Make sure you use etching formula before applying paint so it will adhere. You need a concrete sealer and apply following directions.
Wow
Great job 👏 big difference, is it holding up ?
Yes, it is doing well. I just made sure to apply a top coat to avoid any issues when cleaning! Thanks for asking!
Did you seal it ? If yes what sealer did you use?
I did seal it but I do not remember the concrete sealer I used. If you look up concrete sealer at Home Depot or Lowe’s you can find several brands. I know I did 3 coats.
Love this! Removed old carpet from a bedroom and I need a flooring solution until I can decide what to do. This looks so amazing it may stay this way. 🥰
You spend too much time with details and talking
You spend too much time writing out comments trying to tear people down. Where is your tutorial so I can judge it and leave a ridiculous comment? I thought so.
The etching powder is discontinued!! Is that something I could do without? Thx.
Thanks for sharing🎉I’m going to be starting this exact project soon. 😊
How well did the stenciling hold up under weather conditions and walking on it? You did a really great job!
It’s held up just fine. My best advice is to make sure you put a topcoat to protect it from the elements!
Wow! The job turned out great, Franca! I have a similar situation, but there is already old paint on it and I'm trying to figure out what to do. You've inspired me!
My patio area is 93 sqm and I'll be 100 yrs old by the time I finish painting it! 😞
Did you seal the patio afterwards? If so how long did you wait for the paint to dry before sealing it?
Two days
What did you seal it with?
This was great! It's giving me ideas for my new patios. :)
Great video!!! So detailed and to the point! Update on decorating??? I’m tackling this project before we go back to school and need all the inspiration possible!!
Thank you! Keep an eye out for an update !! Good luck!
This is awesome. I’m looking to create something like this with the concrete floor in my backyard patio. I was just going to paint it white but now that I seen the stencils I wanna definitely do something different with it.

Stencil pounder is easier to stay even!
I don’t want to do the entire patio if I’m using the large stencils i want some of the space left without in the event I want to add some fun touches like maybe a bird or flower to make it more personalized but I think you did a nice job
So great! I’m gonna try it!
You did a good job and you shared a lot of helpful tips, thank you. It looks very pretty. It really does make such a difference in the aesthetics of the area.
I hope that privacy fence holds up, it looks like that vinyl fence I've seen people putting up in some areas near here. They are out in what used to be a farm field that now is lots for homes and the wind whips across their yards. A recent storm wiped out two homeowners fences. i feel so bad for them and they have not put it back up. I saw it all twisted laying around the landscape then they piled by street for collection. Your yard looks like it's a close neighborhood so hopefully they wind can't do that to your fence.
What a sweet comment! So I live up east by New York and we had a major hurricane with lots of flooding actually after this was filmed and our fence is still intact like the day we put it in. I guess it depends on the area and it definitely wouldn’t work well for farmland where there are high winds. I am so appreciative of your concern. Thanks for commenting ❤️
@@franca2796 Thank you for sharing that. Also again thanks for the good tips from this video and sharing the stencil company resource, they have some of the best pricing of any I've found.
Beautiful
Nice look! Clean and fresh!
Great job!!
Fantastic! I am going to do this on my small porch..thank you
Hi, Franca. Take care too!
Thank you for the video.
Wow, I am sold. I am going to try this on my small back patio. What could go wrong?! HA!
@@cababyboomerq6012 you could always paint it over! HAHA
Great job! Looks amazing🎉
very nice result, bravo
Not too sure about the 'bleeds' under the stencil. Taking more care to get proper edges would have made it much better end result I'm guessing. Maybe I will find out when I do mine!
Stencils are synonymous with bleed through regardless of tools used or the care being placed between each imprint. Since concrete is porous and is not exactly a flat surface just go lighter with the paint and then you’ll have to fill in. Either way touch ups are inevitable. Good luck !
@@franca2796 yes painting is very forgiving you can always touch up! The only way to get perfect edges would be if you painted the stencil edges with the Grey and then applied the white after. Because the Grey would seal the bleed through. But honestly not worth it unless your doing multiple stencils at a time. Touch up was better for her method with one stencil
👌 Awesome. Thank you for sharing 👍
@Franca. Hey, your nice work and demonstration just motivated me to make our own porch a little better. Just a question, do i i need use the primer before applying the paint?
You need to etch concrete and then apply concrete primer
Great job of persevering
Looks great though
