    Currently, there is no cure for tinnitus. However, Sound Therapy is one of the most effective ways to reduce your perception of tinnitus and to relieve some stress. Recently on a trip to the West Fork trail in Oak Creek Canyon, I noticed my tinnitus go away completely when listening to the stream of water passing over the rocks. The moment was so gratifying, I decided to record it for this video so you could experience the same relief!

    I've had tinnitus for 4 years. First 6 months were absolute panic and anxiety, almost suicidal. Eventually I became ok with it, although I cannot ignore it. I play a masking sound 100% of the time I'm indoors, night and day. I have it just below the volume of my tinnitus to try and coach my brain into ignoring it. I've been using the same mask for about 2 years but recently my tinnitus volume increased and the masking stopped being effective. Thankfully there was no panic or anxiety, even at night which is much worse. I just switched the masking sound to this one and it seems to work quite well. For those new to tinnitus, don't be ashamed to use a masking sound and I assure you the anxiety and panic will pass.

      I'm too busy in the noisy day to be bothered by it but yes, at night when you're trying to go to sleep you can't avoid it unless you mask it because that is when it "roars." I have some type of masking music on every single night now. It has saved my sanity.

      I can speak for anyone else, but in my case, nothing "caused" my tinnitus. I was literally simply walking down the hallway of my home one evening 10 months ago, and my left ear started ringing/roaring. It's been doing that ever since. All the doctor said to me about it was "welcome to your new reality" and left it at that.

    I’m new to this. The ringing started months ago. I assume it wasn’t anything at first. But now it’s more intense. I started having dizziness and vertigo few weeks back. Doctor said I had fluid build up in my ear. Told me to take antihistamines to dry it up. This noise is getting louder and louder. I don’t remember having a peaceful quiet moment. It’s filled with this ringing/buzzing sound. I can’t put it words how to describe it. I find sitting in the bathroom with the vent fan on helps. This ringing is enough to drive someone crazy. It truly is enough to make you feel crazy though, I pray a lot to endure it if God won’t take it away. I’m also going to try B-12 vitamins and stress reduction. Mine could be a menopause symptom. Thankfully, it got better, and most times, I don't even notice it, and when I do, it doesn't bother me. For most of you, the same will eventually happen. It gets better, and it won't bother you. If you're brand new to this and you need some escapes, these tips have helped me some: Firstly, know that most cases go away, don't panic! Secondly, there are headband headphones you can sleep in to help at night. I wear them all night and they're comfortable. I got them on amazon. If yours is high pitched, I found that nature sounds with bird noises help the most or watching something with a lot of action in it... the more noises for my brain to concentrate on the better! There are times when I can't hear it and I'm learning not to let myself listen for it or I'll find it when I really don't want to! Lol! Sometimes I tell myself "it's just the same as having an electrical sound in the room and you didn't panic about that before" and then I play a masking video. Guided meditation helps me to sleep. I hear the squeal but I listen to the guide and turn my attention to my other senses and it really sounds like BS but it does work for me. Having my head against my pillow before I got the headband headphones intensified the noise. I got through the first few nights by putting my phone under my pillow playing pandora or youtube videos like this one or by scratching the fabric under my pillow with my fingernails to make a kindof womb-like noise. It helped when trying to nod off. I know it feels intense right now, but you will be able to get used to it with some time. Keep yourself occupied through the day and do things that bring value to your life or do things for others and keep your masking noises on while you work. Sitting idle and concentrating on it will worsen your experience with it. If you reach panic, a hot shower with the water noise distraction and some benedryl can help get through it. Hugs ❤ You can do this!

      @Andrew-pp2ql 2 роки тому +17

      @@deepakms3751 first she should see a doctor and an audiologist. . If a medical issue is involved or hearing loss then that needs to be addressed which will aid the tinnitus. Next is utilizing sound. Sitting in quiet settings is difficult when tinnitus is new and background noise will help by soothing the auditory system and giving the brain a distraction away from the tinnitus. Ideally it should be played slightly lower than the tinnitus level as that will help in the process of habituation. If sleeping is an issue sound used at night is a must as sleep is vital. Whether a fan being left on or you tube videos being played all night really does not matter. Seeing an audiologist can provide helpful suggestions and I can’t recommend enough to get her hearing checked and let them know of her tinnitus. Treble health on you tube is a great resource so look them up they are a rich resource to utilize and going to the American or British tinnitus foundation for more information are good options.

    Longtime tinnitus in both ears. I remember the one time in my life, years ago, when I experienced pure, delicious silence, up in the Quetico on a canoe trip. True silence isn't an absence of sound, as if you were deaf. Rather, it's a complete absence of anything that triggers your analytical, logical thinking mind. With nothing to label or categorize, your mind slips into a deep, fully conscious state of profound rest that is impossible to describe (and impossible to induce). You can only experience it. And only for a few moments. But oh, those moments are precious and unforgettable.

The tour guide took a small group of us into a chamber in the cave and had us turn out all the lights. He said not everyone would understand the tranquility and may laugh because they can’t deal with the silence. I’ve never been at peace more than in that moment. It was magical.

Everyone has it, is just that you just become aware of it and panic, which causes a stress loop, you hear it you make it more apparent. Once you accept it goes away. You had it before you notice it. Just break the stress cycle and heal. Exercise, eat right, meditate, do things you love, RELAX, AND STOP CHECKING IF IT IS STILL THERE!! and your brain will habituate.

    As I read the comments I feel bad for everyone. I have tinnits and started to treat myself with a cranial electric stimulator (ces). I do not know how much it cost because the VA gave it to me in a trial for pain reduction. This pocket sized unit also reduces anxiety, insommia and depression. The instruction read that I could use the clips that come with it on the ear lobes. I have used it for five years but never to fight tinnitus. Last week my tinnuts was so loud I was sure it woke up my dogs. I told my self, heck I going to move the clips to different areas on my ears. I do my treatment for one hour, sitting as I watch tv or reading. The volume lowered by two numbers for one hour. Each day I experimented with different areas of the ear. I am happy with the results, even if the tinnitus is not gone but the volume is reduced by two thirds.

    I suffer with tinnitus now in both of my ears but I’ve decided to let it be my friend. We have our good days we have our bad days but I’ve learnt to distance myself from it in my own kind of way. First and foremost one must be kind to themselves, it’s our duty to our bodies not to blame ourselves or ones we love out of frustration but to help our body heal and come in to terms with it. Find ways to stimulate more blood flow behind your ears warm hot baths, a massager gun I’ve used recently to gently and soothingly tap behind the ears which has helped. I’ve just learnt to do what us humans excel in and that’s adapt to the change. Don’t give it it the attention it craves. It’s not easy granted, but it doesn’t need to be your enemy. I promise you all things will get better.
    I’m just grateful for my overall health tinnitus is very souls destroying to have but it doesn’t need to be a means to an end. Focus your mind on other things and let it heal on its own

      @@steephaniieeeee I find it unbearable too but what brings some comfort is that there’s so many others like you and me who suffer with it too and that we’re all in this together. Think of it this way, when you have a clock inside your living room that ticks at first you pay attention to the ticking noise because it’s loud but then after a while your brain ignores the ticking noise, you may even be sat reading a book and your brain doesn’t acknowledge it because it’s muted it out, it’s not easy I know but there will be ways to train your brain to give you that relief. One tablet I recommend is one that my doctor gave to me which is called Betahistine which they prescribe a dosage of 8mg, but you can take two if it’s worse. As I understand it, it sends more blood around the body ear and helps quiet the noise. I’m from London so it’s prescribed to me here, not entirely sure where you are but read up about it. Don’t give up and more crucially don’t give your tinnutuns the attention it craves, there are ways to lessen the noise believe me. I’ll help as much as I can to you all ❤️ it doesn’t need to run your life. Come into terms with it and soon your brain, with the right practice, will start to lessen the noise

I also have tensor tympani syndrome, which I've had off and on since I was a kid, but these days it gets so bad I can't follow conversations even face to face with hearing aids in and everything. While it's going on I can't focus on my research work either (my other hat). I teach in the classroom, too, which is horrifying when this kicks up. I keep coming back to this video. It works better than any of the others so far, although on a really bad day nothing helps. Today it's helping. My shoulders drop as soon as the sound hits. You don't realize how tense you get. Will get better, just have to get used to it. you will habituate.

When my wife and I visit the beach along the Gulf of Mexico, the combination of the surf, the cool breeze over the water, and the warm sunshine helps me to forget the perceived ringing or horns blasting in both of my ears. Since you live in a non-coastline state, the running brook or stream probably is your best option. For those who do not have access to either, listening to recorded sounds of the surf or brook are helpful, as well.

    I’ve realized that I’ll have good days and bad days with the ringing . Sometimes some days are longer than others, but it’s ok. I realize I’m not in any harm or then my anxiety/panic attacks will come in and make it worse. I’ve noticed to just exercise more often, lower my caffeine intake , and sleeping more has helped. We will all be okay , you just have to roll with the punches

    It is horrendous, ive had tinnitus for about 10 years, at 1st it's no and off, mostly in evening and before bed time, then about a month ago, I had such a pain in my left ear which 1 doctor said it was infection and another said it was wax build up (which I've never had before), since that week my tinnitus is 24/7, every single day all day long. You do get used to it but the tone and volume just turn up.
    I found a high frequency video on UA-cam which when listened to the tinnitus stops momentarily. I will keep using it to see if it can be a cure. There is a guy on tik tok saying about tinnitus and tapping spoons over the ear as a cure, he says its a sound transmitter thing to the brain that needs resetting. Good luck to all who are feeling this like me

    Can’t believe its been eight years of Tinnitus, at first i thought it would ho away but this time no. First year i went mad n suicidal then i learned about sound masking from you tube. I went to so many doctors and against my advice one doctor prescribed alprazolam for it. It helped muffled the sound but its been six years i have to take it , coz i got so deeply hooked on it. I don’t recommend alprazolam as a treatment for all. However there was a time i did morning glory seeds but first two hours vomiting n crawling on the floor … but after that i could hear silence again n I cried, MGS is not like psychedelics, but instead of visuals you have frequency changes , but it lasted only 24 hrs n tinnitus was back. Even Ketamine helped a little but not as much as MGS. However i know the medication of Tinnitus lies in Morning Glory Seeds and i want MAPS to research on it for the sake of us sufferers of this. Now i take lions mane , alprazolam , magnesium complex to muffle the sound.
