The only thing that “stops” my tinnitus is to ignore it. It doesn’t actually go away. Sound merely helps me ignore the loud screeching, so I have the illusion I don’t hear the tinnitus. I can go several days at a time and never hear it until something reminds me I have it or I’m in a totally quiet room. Right now, it won’t go away because I’m thinking about tinnitus.
Screeching!? I wouldnt say mine is that bad, but just high pitched "noise" which also pulsates.
Mine is similar in that I can ignore it and forget that I have it, but when I take meds for sinus, it can suddenly start "screaming " at me. It can sometimes increase in volume making it harder to ignore. However, this water sound does seem to bring that volume back down to where I can go on ignoring it again.
It helps a bit to calm me down while listening.
But since some days the screetching became so loud that t's impossible to ignore it in silence and it disturbs my sleep so bad... i wish I'd know why it increased and only wish it decreases again.
There is no way I can it's too loud sometimes makes me want to bang my head
It's been 18 months now since I been suffering with Tinnitus ( in my brain n ears (Sound-Induced ) my hearing is fine. I cry just about every day. Been to so many Neurologists I am tired. I am listening to this video. Looks like God is my only Healer! 🙏
Playing this sound made me instantly relax and feel relief. It's amazing the tension we walk around with and don't realise it. I'm 7 years into tinnitus. Had a bad time in the first 6 months, then fully habituated naturally years ago. Never ever bothered me. Flare up before Xmas still there but this time I know I'll be fine so not panicking just working on improving it and waiting for my body to do it's thing.
I have had tinnitus since I was around age 5. I'm 70 now. This program has sincerely helped a great deal. I thank you for the relief ❤
I love the sound of running water a day rain. This is just the right tempo, very soothing. Stops me over thinking and I relax much easier when I'm in bed. Sleep better too 👍
Running water is definitely one of the best masking sounds. Loving this video and the dark screen. I developed Tinnitus in August 2021, I cannot possibly tell you how instrumental you've been to helping me habituate and take my life back. I appreciate you so so so much for all the videos, encouragement and POSITIVITY. THANK YOU for doing all this for us.

I've had it on for two hours, not working so well. Rain w/thunder seem to work better.
It's been 7 days and this puts me to sleep every night and I keep it running in the background all day. It's all I ever want to listen to
Can relate…….just discovered it and don’t want to completely turn it off. Masking the noises and soothing. Hoping for another nights good sleep :)
I love the sound of running water, and this soundtrack is a good one. It takes me back in time to the days of my youth, hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. However as an older man I must exercise caution, this wonderful sound at night adds to my trips to the call of nature.
I very much appreciate that you fade the screen to black. It is a definite plus when using this video to go to sleep. Thanks Dr. Ben!
My tinnitus is a high pitch, perhaps 8000 Hz. The running water is very relaxing but did not mask my tinnitus. I get better result with a violet noise pitch, which is a higher pitch.
I will give the Violet noise a go - the water is nice and relaxing for me too, and doesn't do anything to mask the tinnitus
This does help relax me but I’m afraid my tinnitus is off the charts lol but I will continue watching your videos because they do help me , I never stop looking for help. Thank you for all your videos!
I'm going through the same! This week has been really rough!😞 I'm hoping for a breakthrough soon!! Let's never stop looking!
@@caligirlroz9556 I’m going Tuesday to get fitted for the Linere System!! Please check it out. Just got approved by the FDA.
I've been living with tinnitus for 27 years. It has slowly gotten louder over the years. I have to play music 24/7 to deal with it.
What you play or you use hearings aid , does hearing aid help ?

To stop the ringing you hold pressure to the side of your head in the temple area. You put pressure on the little bones and it stops the noise. You'll know you have the right place when it stops. It doesn't take that much pressure rather. Just hold it for a few seconds and it will stop. Tinnitus is just vibration causing the tiny bones to knock together creating the ringing sound.
I deal with a very high frequency, nearly pure tone left side tinnitus that only in the loudest environment, is always present. Outdoors and pre-occupied is the best masking I can hope for so far. Had this since 1981
Sorry to hear that! I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease in 2017 and have constant high pitched ringing on my left side as well. With tinnitus being so common you would think more research would be underway...
Mine is the same. My left ear is where the high frequencies aren't good--hearing loss over time. Over the last year it's been hissing, mostly on the left side, and it doesn't go away. I haven't found anything to help mask it.
Even though I don't myself suffer from tinnitus I find this sound very relaxing & it will probably help me sleep.
This one is definitely soothing. Encouraging and enriching relaxing the sounds in the head and ears. One of my favorite. Can listen to this one all day.
Happy to hear that! Thank you very much! Enjoy exploring our other UA-cam videos, as well as blog articles on our Treble Health website.
I used to prefer ocean waves but since I found this particular one, I keep coming back to it to help me sleep over my tinnitus. Thank you!
I think any auditory input that's sufficient volume enough is to drown out tinnitus. I've had it for years. The brain learns to filter it out. This may not be true for everyone and I'm sorry that you have to endure this. I personally am going through a number of UA-cam videos that are geared towards relaxation, nature sounds, whatever. By now I have quite a collection. For me, it's easy to mix these sounds together by just playing both at the same time just with one with more dominant volume. Of course any creative version of this is up to the reader. I wish you luck listening to this for a sense of peace through the travels that help you cope. It's my understanding that for some it's quite a maddening thing. :(
LOL has 10 hours passed already? My healing sounds have stopped. So thankful for "loop". This is the absolute only audio I dont finally have to get up and turn off in the middle of the night. For the first time in years, I've been sleeping 8 hours straight thru and feel so refreshed and alert upon wakening. All the others that I've listened to are fatiguing after a few hours. I'm so totally unable to turn this off. Its like healing medicine on my brain and body and I don't understand why. I don't have any medical condition other that some apnea and slight aging disc degeneration. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING more healing that sweet, deep, sound sleep night after night. ❤ THANK YOU!!!!
Oh my.....this is amazing!
Most times I can tune it out to a softer level....yes the tinnitus is still there but not as noticeable.
Sadly my health has taken a turn and I also deal with anxiety so the tinnitus has has been harder to control.
This water running is perfect and also takes down the anxiety.
Tinnitus is a beast, can't out it but this sound sure slows it down.
I am glad I stumbled across it.
I've had a leaking toilet stop valve for years and sleep in my bathroom because of it. It's been a God send.
Just so glad i found genuine help with TH, anxiety and stress is my biggest spike.
It reminds me of poughquag ny. Thanks Dr.Ben, that is definitely something and relaxing. But nothing beats the real thing.
One of the best and most soothing sounds I've heard and I have listened to dozens.
Does anyone else have tinnitus that sounds like a million chirping crickets? That's what I have, and I am wondering how common it is. // This video is awesome. I love the sound of water, always have.
I have constant LOUD tinnitus in both ears but each ear has its own volume and tone. It isn't one high-pitched buzzing, but many, overlapping, and ringing in various patterns and tones all at once. NOTHING masks or resolves it, but THIS SOUND distracts and soothes me, especially during Adoration, when I must be silent in a quiet church. THIS SOUND (using earbuds) helps me focus on silent meditation for over an hour without a headache or growing frustrated. Over an hour of pleasant distraction! THANK YOU! GOD BLESS YOU!
Hey Dr Ben, I tried this sound last night and was very pleased. I've shopped several different sounds and have not been happy with most. This and crickets both help with tinnitus and restful sleep.
This is a big help! Thank you for putting these together and helping to make this condition tolerable ❤
You're so welcome, Lady Laura! Glad it was helpful. 😊

I'm suffering from tinnitus for the last six months. I'm doing pranayam 90 minutes daily and walk reverse for half an hour. Hopefully tinnitus will go away from my life one day Amen 🙏
LOL, this makes me want to run to the bathroom. I use a ten-hour rain video to help me sleep, and it also helps during the day with the tinnitus.
Thanks , helps to mask the extreme noises to focus on the water sounds
Water noise does help sometimes. What I found most helpful though is the high pitched sound made by a running refrigerator or freezer. Mine is high pitched and I find my mind blending it in with the fridge noise and then tuning it right out. Had TN 13 years after an emotional trauma. God bless all of you on this journey to find peace.
I have PT in left ear and misophonia. The water sound hasn't triggered my misophonia, thank God.
I just recently developed pretty bad tinnitus. Seems like these sounds sort of have the opposite effect for me. My tinnitus tends to sound like high pitched crickets--not a pure ringing tone. Listening to crickets, waterfalls, etc, at first masks the tinnitus, but the tinnitus actually gets louder as I listen. Eventually, I can hear it clearly over the masking noises. This happens regardless of whether I'm "concentrating" on it. I have discovered that deep bassy noise ("ear cupping" ASMR, for example) while not covering it up, somehow helps it dimish... so after a while of listening, then taking off my headphones, I may not notice the tinnitus for a while, or even if I concentrate on it, it is so faint I'm not sure if it is still there.
I've got high pitched crickets too. My ENT told me earphones can make it worse for some people and to use sound that is further away from my ears. At night so I don't wake my partner if I wake up and it's loud I use an audio book on a ten minute timer to distract me as I fall asleep.
I have the high pitched cricket/ringing in right ear. This particular bubbly noise with whooshing sound like my clothes in washing machine does help me. I have to use headphones and turn sound all the way up!! HOWEVER, I find if I’m listening to a calm soothing guided meditation helps me more. I focus on the calm soothing voice and totally focus on guided meditation plus my breathing, I soon forget the incessant high ringing and actually fall asleep.
@@oakherder17yes, I too find listening to an audio book or a guided meditation that uses very descriptive calming walks a long the beach or a trail in nature helps so much….I really focus on the calm soothing voice/sounds and before I know it I’m asleep 😉
The best 7 hours straight of quality sleep in a million years! Thank you so much! I'm going to play this again tonight 😊 For over 11 years I've suffered from tinnitus, insomnia, sleep apnea, and chronic pain. ADD and anxiety for much longer 😅 Getting any amount of quality sleep is rare. Last night I was watching yt vids on tinnitus while my ears were ringing very loudly (like now). I put this on at 2:30am. I was asleep in less than 10m. I slept for 7 hours straight! Before this, I was doing a yoga nidra I've done before, and my mind kept wandering. I usually do breathing exercises whenever I need to settle my mind, or when the ringing is overwhelming. I approve message, and the video!
This is my favorite sound for masking Tinnitus and environmental noise such as loud restaurants…very soothing
Because of my tinnitus, I have the ability to ignore sounds that would drive others crazy. That's how I've lived with extremely loud tinnitus for almost 50 years. After a few minutes of listening to the flowing water, my mind blocks it out. No change whatsoever in my tinnitus.
Fifty years? That's a long time. It's been eight years for me. One friggen day at a time...
I love the 'slow' running water sound vs the fast static of white noise. Streams better than rain even.
I will try this tonight. I like how you fade out the image for sleep. Thank you so much - I can't begin to tell you how much your videos have helped me.

100% helpful. Yes! The SECOND I clicked on this my ears immediately "dropped" in relaxation. Pressure was eased. Well done!
I made it through perhaps 30 seconds. The sound actually made my tinnitus louder and more piercing.
Hi Dr. Ben, thx for this video, I’m new to the tinnitus community and find your videos very informative and helpful. Lifesavers so to speak. In your videos I have watched so far, the masking sounds you appear to refer to quite often are pink noise, white noise, and nature sounds i.e. waterfalls etc. Those are the sounds I’ve also found that you have posted videos of. Is violet noise also not a good option, and if so could you say why. If it is, do you have a video and could you please post a link. I posted this comment on an older video as well but not sure whether you will see it, so giving it a second try. Thanks for all you do.

The cricket sound brought me a little bit of relief.
The perfect background noise and you can be confident that it's not going to be interrupted by adverts whilst it aids calmness to your sleep .

Thank you, Dr Ben! I love this sound. I feel peaceful and happy when I listen to it. Not worried, depressed or scared about T. T is for transformation.
I have pulsation tinnitus in one ear. Hear it when room is quite. This helps so much when going to bed.
Ok I guess I’m the odd person out, but this sound actually frames and highlights my tinnitus even more! Crazy!
Same. Any recommendations for other sounds? I am noticing that the intensity is worsening. My stress levels are low, and my diet mostly healthy😊.
I absolutely adore this bubbling brook!!!It is just what I need for my pulsatile tinnitus, which drives me bonkers!
……and I continue returning to this magnificent sound as support and ‘peace’,….especially during tinnitus flare-ups 👍.
The high pitch shrill constant noise in my ears , yes the gentle changing pitch of the stream immediately had me not hearing the noise in my ears so much. Thank you..
Glad to hear you were able to find relief! Try to keep using this management tool for lasting relief :)
God bless you doctor
LOVE THIS. The sound of crackling fire works well too. I have nature sounds playing all over my apartment whenever I’m not watching TV or listening to music. I have them on my EarPods too. Babbling brooks, fire in a fire place, crickets, rain all help for me. The secret is to play the sounds quietly so they are real background. I sleep with them too. Thanks for this one. Adding it to my list!

Aubrey, I’m new to tintinus, it’s been about 1 month that I’ve been dealing with it, I’m completely lost on how to deal with it and what to do. Do you listen to this on your iPad, phone, etc, at night do you use headphones or what? Thank you
@@BlingyBea I’m so sorry you’re dealing with it. If you focus on it, it can be maddening. I’ve had it for so long it is now a natural part of my life and thankfully I’ve learned to ignore it. That said, I have worked purposefully to manage it. It depends on the situation. I live in the city so it’s rare for me to be in completely silence. When I am in quiet spaces, I have speakers in my apartment. I play nature sounds, running water, fire cracking and tinnitus background playlists that resonate around the frequency of my tinnitus. I play them SOFTLY, not too loud. I play the sounds on my iPods quietly when I read or work in quiet places. There is also an option to play background noise on AirPods. I don’t use that feature. I hope that’s helpful. It is a journey. Sending you love, blessings and resilience! ❤❤❤
@@TheAubreyLynch Thank you for commenting back to me. It really bothers me when it’s quiet, like right before I go to bed or if I’m just sitting down. I’m usually on my iPad with my ear phones on to help me not concentrate on the noise. When I’m out and about I guess the outside noise blocks the ringing where I don’t hear it and I pray yeah it’s gone but no it’s not. What’s been hard for me is that I’ve been wearing ear plugs for the last 20 something years to block out noise and now I can’t use them and have to get use to noise, I have a fan on and try to make myself listen to that instead of the noise in my ear. I have downloaded some of those sounds, I’ll hopefully find one that works for me and try running water on the rocks, when I run my water faucet I do notice that it helps mask it. I’m still trying to learn to ignore it but I guess that comes with time. Bless you for being so kind and giving me some advice on how you have learned to deal with it.🙏🏻🙏🏻

truth is it made my tinnitus go away after a min. or two I do listen to my radio every night on my Christian station 105.5 k-love and that helps but the water running in waterfalls blocked it all right out awesome god bless

I have just discovred your videos Dr Thompson just in the last two days. Thank you so much for this audio sound/video. I find it works to a certain degree. I have Pulsatile Tinnitus (PT) in one ear and so the water sound doesn't move in sync with the PT rythym to help reduce this affect. However I do find the whole overall sound very comforting and soothing and I find it helps calms me down and seems to reduce the noise level (or I get get adjusted to it) and it appears to reduce my anxiety especially when trying to sleep. Your overall holistic and empathetic approach and your explanations in your other videos I am finding very useful and re-assuring and may help a great deal. If I was in the US I would come and see you but I am based in the UK. I'll keep listening and watch your videos to help. Thanks again. Regards Brian

I suffer from the low and awful pitch which makes me seem off balance and the noise of a room full of people make my hearing so annoying and upset that I ha e to leave the room and angry at myself.. but finally I found out it can be stress related which I never knew because that's something you just wouldn't believe and I thought it was from my earbuds so I know why now I suffer from tinnitus and this helps my hearing go back to normal with a lot less tingling after about an hour or more due that I lay down and put my earbuds on with this playing and I'm so glad I found the right noise to help because white noise and pink and also brown noise didn't work... Thank you to the person's that put this together!! ❤💯✌️

I have multiple layers of tinnitus and so I find Brown Noise or a fan in my room works best, running water doesn’t work for me because it’s out of context. I sleep with the sound of a box fan and it really helps me sleep better.
Will any fan do or does it have to be a box fan? it’s been 1 month that I got this, trying to learn how to deal with it. Trying to learn how to ignore it, from what I read it’s in the brain and if you keep thinking about the noise then your brain thinks you want to hear it. I wish there were help groups to attend.
helps me, thank you!
I have pulsatile tennitus and the best way for me is to exercise and you need to sweat. I do mine in the treadmill (walking and running) and it goes away temporarily for at least 10 to 15 minutes. I listen to this sound while exercising. I can’t really wait to get better.
Alza, I can relate to this! Gonna try listening to running water while on the treadmill. I am 81 years old, so this feels kinda hopeless for me. But I will keep trying. Have had PT for eight years now. I'd really like to get better soon!
I prefer a smoother stream with no rocks, but this one adds an extra layer of sound that helps with surrounding noises. the soud of rain on the road, heard from the inside of a moving vehicle, is also very good.
God bless those who have Tinnitus. Its not easy.
