Thanks for proving that you haven't listened to them live properly. You don't magically lose all your skill when you stand up. i just said i did, can't you read, you need to read all this then reply. You don't play guitar mate or you would know if you sit in a classical position ( if your right handed) with the guitar on your left knee, go try it and look at your hand position and feel the relaxed natural feeling your tendons in your forearm take. OK now from the minor 3d of E on the 5th string, play this string skipping arpeggio in Em. 3rd, 7th, root(octave higher) right up to the E on the 12th fret on the high E and back again. OK. Now stand up lower your strap so your guitar is very low like a rock star, play the same arpeggio. Notice your hand position the tension in your forearm and the fact that you will struggle a little more to make the stretches. If you practice standing up with your guitar in the same position you play live your muscle memory will develop differently. Have you never seen a REAL great player put his foot on the fold back for a complex solo, guess why? because its easier to play cleaner. fuckn fanboy scum, I've have a bachelor degree in contemporary music. I mean, to be fair, Dragonforce definitely falls on the performance side of things. What the guitarists are playing isn't all that fast or complex, however, making your hands look like they're jumping all over the place and using a very frantic feeling backing track makes it seem far, far, far faster, it's a pretty good trick, but it is a trick. "I've never listened to it in its entirety before." And you still haven't done so. Find an mp3 of it, hear the actual full song. I still can't believe that in the OFFICIAL VIDEO, they skipped a huge chunk of the big solo and THE WHOLE THIRD VERSE. What a terrible decision.
Ugh I hate it when artists do that. It’s not even just this song. I’m thinking it’s because they don’t have enough of a budget for the video to do the whole thing.
@mark tamayo Yeah. The artists might not even have had a say in it. There's a record label behind them doing the publishing and marketing. Not that I know anything about their deal or anything, but they might have been forced to do it for the reason you listed: it's easier to sell "commercial standard length" tracks i.e. easier to get slots for them on the radio and TV.
Same thing with highway to oblivion they cut it down to 4 mins instead of 7 mins. Yet Metallica's one mv played the entire song , maybe nowadays mv should be 4 mins in order to produce a music video.
Hey just so you know, it's an edited version of the song, the song is originally 7min long. But it was way too long for the common ppl so they cutted off the song to make it a 5min (wich is still long for a radio/video clip format) and made it more "explosive". You should check the entire song tho. The differences are subtile here and there in apperence but, hey, two minutes cut still :3
And? Their bassist Adrian Lambert has lots of skill on bass. He has harmonized guitar solos on a 6 string bass and he has insane screams. He also played in Sonic Firestorm and Inhuman Rampage albums and all of his basslines are fingerstyle.
It's a great song, but this version is a bit shorter DragonForce fans are a bit divided because they changed singers. Haters claim they don't/can't play there own stuff live. Personally I really like the band, very talented and gives a lot of energy. If you want more, Ashes of the dawn, Cry Thunder, Fury of the storm, Operation ground and pound (live version!!!)
Reinderp The haters are referring to some technical glitches during a tour a decade ago and won't let it die even though there's now hundreds-thousands of videos proving they can play live thanks to youtube
They used to suck ass live, but on the tour video from Japan recently, they crushed their whole set, including Fury of the Storm and TTFAF. I don't doubt that they wrote TTFAF well above their skill level at the time, but they've really grown into it. Unfortunately, they used such heavy effects on parts of the song on the album, they'll probably never recreate it perfectly live, but whatever. They're close enough that it doesn't really make that big a difference.
This is actually the short version, there's a longer 7 minute full version of this song. Other good songs by Dragonforce: Cry Thunder, Heros of our time, basically the whole Maximum Overload Album...
Never really a Dragonforce fan but this song is an absolute masterpiece. Everything about it is epic in any genre of music. The vocals, guitar and drums are just out of this world. Bravo 👏
Nah, that goes to Jason Richardson He is the best technical, and honestly just listen to him you'll see why, the only other person I put up there would be Buckethead
Herman Li and the other guy (don't know his name) are certainly fast, but in terms of technical skill, they're not the best. I would give that title to John Petrucci of Dream Theater, and other guitarists on his level (I don't know any by name since I've only recently started really exploring metal).
Tim Smith the other guy (Sam Totman) is far better than Herman Li. Herman is just speed, but Sam can play really good. He prooved it in their last three albums with the new singer, Herman on the other hand, just speed.
@@KingGrim19XX 3 minutes 13 seconds to be exact. They have to throw a guitar instrumental section in there. It is Dragonforce after all - ua-cam.com/video/lD5AaCKow-M/v-deo.html
A lot of people wouldn't be able to sing to their potential trying to sing about something that traumatic. That's what makes it so crazy.. real, raw emotion. The song isn't about singing well. Its about telling that story and getting it out.
Nightwish has a lot of phenomenal pieces (Ghost Love Score, Poet and the Pendulum, Song of Myself, Last Ride of the Day, Planet Hell). However, no matter what song, it is best to go to one of the live recordings with Tarja or Floor over the studio imo. Nightwish's sound is so great live.
I agree, I would recommend something off Wacken 2013 of Vehicle of Spirit, or Wembley but either way, I just forgot to mention the "Live part" in the comment.
For Sabaton I'd say as a first time react Carolus Rex, Primo Victoria, or Screaming Eagles would be the best songs. But in all reality any sabaton song would be great.
You have to listen to Dream Theater!!! People who haven't actually delved into their discography will tell you to start with The Dance of Eternity, As I Am, Panic Attack, etc, but you have to go to the really good stuff: Take the Time Under a Glass Moon (one the best and most iconic Petrucci's solo) Learning to Live 6:00 (yup, that's the name of the song) Voices (one of the best if not the best Petrucci solo) Scarred A Change of Seasons (I promise you this will be a life changing experience) Hell's Kitchen / Lines in The Sand (another strong candidate for best Petrucci solo) Fatal tragedy Beyond This Life Home The Spirit Carries On The Glass Prison The Great Debate Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (a 42 mins suite split into 8 songs) This Dying Soul Stream of Consciousness In the Name of God Octavarium In the Presence of Enemies Pts. 1 and 2 Constant Motion The Dark Eternal Night The Ministry of Lost Souls A Nightmare to Remember The Shattered Fortress The Count of Tuscany Lost Not Forgotten Breaking All Illusions Illumination Theory A New Beginning Our New World
hahahahahahaha I should've been more clear. I meant like, those in the list would be all good choices, I obviously didn't expect Alex to do them all xD
Tip: Avoid videoclips, they are likely to cut of parts of the songs.U could try going for lyric videos,so u can hear the full song and follow the message.
and they aren't playing the actual solos in this clip.they just mimic crazy stuff to look cooler. It's easy to see if u pay attetion to what he is doing and the actual sound of the solo.He can play the solos tho, just over does it on the clip.
Dude if you like this Dragonforce song, you should check out Soldiers of the Wasteland, The Game, Three Hammers, Ashes of the Dawn, and Heroes of our Time. There is so much good music out there for you to experience!
I'm a fan of Die By The Sword and Symphony of the Night myself. Also their cover of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire never fails to bring a smile to my face.
You have to mention that the whole band is on another level. The singer, the drummer, the keyboarder and the bass player. The two crazy guys which are playing guitar are another level.
Another good Dragonforce song is Land Where Dragons Rule and it's actually the very first one I head, my little brother, who is a huge metal head, let me hear it once and told me the band name and I got to looking around for them and that's how I found Dragonforce and their awesome music...and even more awesome shreds. Also when I say my little bro is a metal head..I mean he listens to pretty much any type of metal music..heavy, grunge, growl, screamo..if it's metal he's probably listened to at least one song from each type.
You know man, this is not even the full version of the song: the full version, witch is the same of Guitar Heroes, is 7 minutes kong and the solos are even more powerfull than this. I really suggest you to get it: you won't regret it^^
The unsung hero of this song has to be the drummer... you know homeboy threw about 3000 kicks in the last 6 minutes...
I'm a little late, but I believe a double peddle was used, so that makes it slightly less ludicrous, but it's still very impressive.

Dragonforce fury of the storm
For real.
jose martin zarate rojas this man know
"Heros of our time" is another great song by them👍
Heroes of our time and Soldiers of the wasteland are my favorite
Valley of the Damned is my favorite
You could rename this video “watch dragon force melt a dudes brain”
Hey just so you know, it's an edited version of the song, the song is originally 7min long. But it was way too long for the common ppl so they cutted off the song to make it a 5min (wich is still long for a radio/video clip format) and made it more "explosive". You should check the entire song tho. The differences are subtile here and there in apperence but, hey, two minutes cut still :3
AS I LAY DYING - MY OWN GRAVE
Evin Kilicarslan they really killed it on that track... 😂😂😂
Unfortunately, most reactions to that song are being removed due to copyright claims. Not a smart song to react to at the moment.
It's time for you to touch MOTORHEAD
"Killed By Death" :D
Overkill live
Hell yeah
Listen to “Fury of the Storm” it’s a great song
It’s literally Through The Fire And Flames
But a different rhythm 😂
I know
Fury of the storm 2004
Through The Fire And Flames 2005
@@DiscontinuedChannelOne most of dragonforces' songs sound pretty similar tbh. Still love them though.
Should've been soldiers of the wasteland though, 9 minutes but damn it's good
Rishabh Vailaya TRUE
Fury of the storm
Through The Fire And Flames
Operation ground and pound
Cry for eternity
They all sound the same
But
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
True that 🤘🤘🤘🤘
You should listen to the album version, it's 7 minutes long with 2 extra solos
Me after him reacting to the first solo... "just you wait homie..."
If you're ever feeling useless, just remember: Dragonforce has a bass player.
Was that a Bass disrespect? Look out man, Cliff Burton and Lemmy are watching from above.
Yeah, and he plays at 220bpm, too. What's your point?
And? Their bassist Adrian Lambert has lots of skill on bass. He has harmonized guitar solos on a 6 string bass and he has insane screams. He also played in Sonic Firestorm and Inhuman Rampage albums and all of his basslines are fingerstyle.
I had this as a favourite before.
Beautiful song an VERY IMPRESSIVE guitarr solos not so many people can deliver! :-)
Insomnium - While we sleep
Iced Earth - Dracula(live)
Btw i knew you would be blown away by the solo XD
yes, insomnium - while we sleep!
I'll die if he reacts to while we sleep.
Insomnium -While we sleep OR Revelations would blow his mind.
While we sleep for instruments and lyrically for Revelations.
yes yes While We Sleep Insomnium, back this up this 100%
Or Insomnium - One for Sorrow ua-cam.com/video/SZMWKCgvaDY/v-deo.html
Go for the new As I lay Dying (My Own Grave). And be sure to read a bit of story behind the band, you'll be interested
DO BATMETAL RETURNS. It's a Dethklok song that some animators made a video for and it's incredible.
Darknight0781 or Batmetal Forever.
Batmetal, batmetal returns, batmetal forever.
MURMAIDER MURMAIDER MURMAIDER MURMAIDER MURMAIDER
Or just listen to all of dethklok
I was specifically thinking this video, because of the content of the video and I think his reaction to it would be glorious.
As a drummer myself, my arms and calves were burning just listening to him. 🔥
And now that you focused on the guitar, go back but then listen to the drum :)
Gardiens Nostalgiques for real, no one appreciates how much the drummer is actually playing
4:00 the look of realization of how difficult those solos really are
More like 6:21 lol
That's why it's called "face melting".
Those solos aren't that difficult. The ones after are.
Dragonforce: Music for when you need to run through a brick wall.
When 6:40 hits, it’s like you’re parting the skies while shattering a star with your bare fists
Your face when the solo battle started was phenomenal and priceless. Mind blown indeed.
Atom Ogre Boatswain Mind melted as he said haahhaah
Its not the speed that is impressive about this song... its hitting the marks correctly, keeping rhythm, keeping time throughout AT SPEED.
Herman Li is so good he even gave a closeup of his solo knowing not that many people can copy it...
Fun Fact: at 7:56 you can hear (if im remembering correctly) Herrman's string snap causing that rapid high to low sound.
It's a great song, but this version is a bit shorter
DragonForce fans are a bit divided because they changed singers.
I've seen them live in recent years, they are fully capable of playing their songs live
Reinderp Marc Hudson > ZP Theart
They used to suck ass live, but on the tour video from Japan recently, they crushed their whole set, including Fury of the Storm and TTFAF. I don't doubt that they wrote TTFAF well above their skill level at the time, but they've really grown into it. Unfortunately, they used such heavy effects on parts of the song on the album, they'll probably never recreate it perfectly live, but whatever. They're close enough that it doesn't really make that big a difference.
I've seen them live 4 times in Aus and they have been fucking amazing every time.
Power metal. The greatest of all metal.
Makes you wanna pick up a mighty axe and slay dragons!!!
Geeko170 these guys definitely slayed with their axes tho :))
If you keep saying things like that he might react to Gloryhammer.
I'm not sure how that would go.
this song its more speed metal
EspacioGamer Zero it's both power metal and speed metal
Makes you want to pick up a mighty axe and slay dragons, while riding your unicorn... :)
This is actually the short version, there's a longer 7 minute full version of this song.
Other good songs by Dragonforce: Cry Thunder, Heros of our time, basically the whole Maximum Overload Album...
Those guitarists have never not gotten a woman off with their fingers
A woman wouldn't SURVIVE those fingers. She would literally catch fire.....
Blind Guardian-Mirror Mirror
Machine Head - Imperium
Wintersun - Sons of winter and stars
Metallica Blackend
Bob Votava love blackened!! Top 5 song from Metallica
Bob Votava hell yea
Live from Seattle 89
Bob Votava Blackened***
Panic attack Dream Theater bro trust me
615Deathdealer and pull me under just cause its awesome lol
615Deathdealer The Best Of Times is awesome too!!
Never really a Dragonforce fan but this song is an absolute masterpiece. Everything about it is epic in any genre of music. The vocals, guitar and drums are just out of this world. Bravo 👏
dude, you should also see their song Heroes of our Time
cry for eternity too
Carlo L great song!
I like Operation Ground & Pound better
i would suggest Trail of Broken Hearts for a fantastic Power Ballad
Bruh. Fury of the storm.
dragon force is essentially an epic guitar battle between two of the most technically skilled guitar players ever
They really arent. Lol
Nah, that goes to Jason Richardson
He is the best technical, and honestly just listen to him you'll see why, the only other person I put up there would be Buckethead
I believe that title goes to toki and skwisgaar
Herman Li and the other guy (don't know his name) are certainly fast, but in terms of technical skill, they're not the best. I would give that title to John Petrucci of Dream Theater, and other guitarists on his level (I don't know any by name since I've only recently started really exploring metal).
Tim Smith the other guy (Sam Totman) is far better than Herman Li. Herman is just speed, but Sam can play really good. He prooved it in their last three albums with the new singer, Herman on the other hand, just speed.
Can they play Smoke On The Water though?
They covered Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire". God only knows what they would do to Smoke On The Water
Probably, most likely the entire song in les then a minute
@@KingGrim19XX 3 minutes 13 seconds to be exact. They have to throw a guitar instrumental section in there. It is Dragonforce after all - ua-cam.com/video/lD5AaCKow-M/v-deo.html
But what about slow ride on easy?
Can they play Wonderwall though?
You can practically see Alex's brain dripping out of his ears during the solo ^_^
Korn - Daddy, for extra raw emotion
yes please
because hes singing about something traumatic...
A lot of people wouldn't be able to sing to their potential trying to sing about something that traumatic. That's what makes it so crazy.. real, raw emotion. The song isn't about singing well. Its about telling that story and getting it out.
Bill Ekeman Hm
Bill Ekeman, couldn't have said it any better dude!
Machine Head - Locust
Trivium - Shogun
Arch Enemy - War Eternal
Locust not the music video though
Nightwish - "Ghost Love Score"
You'll love it :)
I absolutely Love the Live Version with Floor Jansen ...Goosebumps
Live version too! :D
I agree, I would recommend something off Wacken 2013 of Vehicle of Spirit, or Wembley but either way, I just forgot to mention the "Live part" in the comment.
I cry everytime i hear this song,EPIC.
Sabaton - 40:1 please ;)
And you if like Dragonforce you have to listen to Avantasia band!
Kemal T Personally I really like Ruina Imperii
Lutawhuiklik My favorite imo is Wehrmacht but 40:1 is awesome aswell.
LuftWaffles99 Wehrmacht is pretty awesome, my third favorite. Ruina imperii is my second favorite, and 7734 is my favorite.
For Sabaton I'd say as a first time react Carolus Rex, Primo Victoria, or Screaming Eagles would be the best songs. But in all reality any sabaton song would be great.
Buckethead - soothsayer
Matt Pfarr that live version! Epic F@**!!! 👌
he may not be ready for the real stuff \m/ xD
Yesss
You have to listen to Dream Theater!!! People who haven't actually delved into their discography will tell you to start with The Dance of Eternity, As I Am, Panic Attack, etc, but you have to go to the really good stuff:
Take the Time
Under a Glass Moon (one the best and most iconic Petrucci's solo)
Learning to Live
6:00 (yup, that's the name of the song)
Voices (one of the best if not the best Petrucci solo)
Scarred
A Change of Seasons (I promise you this will be a life changing experience)
Hell's Kitchen / Lines in The Sand (another strong candidate for best Petrucci solo)
Fatal tragedy
Beyond This Life
Home
The Spirit Carries On
The Glass Prison
The Great Debate
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (a 42 mins suite split into 8 songs)
This Dying Soul
Stream of Consciousness
In the Name of God
Octavarium
In the Presence of Enemies Pts. 1 and 2
Constant Motion
The Dark Eternal Night
The Ministry of Lost Souls
A Nightmare to Remember
The Shattered Fortress
The Count of Tuscany
Lost Not Forgotten
Breaking All Illusions
Illumination Theory
A New Beginning
Our New World
Yeah, just do all of Dream Theater. :)
A lot of first songs are not suitable for prog virgin, lmao. Awesome list tho
Dark eternal night is dope af
hahahahahahaha I should've been more clear. I meant like, those in the list would be all good choices, I obviously didn't expect Alex to do them all xD
3:17 I don't listen to any metal song or instrumental, never did, BUT Dragonforce TTFAF was the one and only exception, it's wonderful 🔥🔥
But you know... you have to be a guitar player to hear things like this.
Children of bodom bed of razors??
Children of bodom follow the reaper?
Shelby Children of Bodom - In your face !!!
Toaster Goat or every time I die since it has a video
As far as I know, so does In your face, but honestly any CoB song is goddamn amazing 🤘😈
Everytime i die since there's a video, or maybe sixpounder. Either way this guy needs to hear some bodom
No matter what - CHILDREN OF FUCKING BODOM!!!
Trivium - down from the sky
Been requesting this and Shogun for months now. Hopefully this happens.
down from the sky is so sick
....and Throes of Perdition
Next level band, I truly dont know how the fuck they play that beautiful and that fast, it's like at the speed of light 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
react to dream theater
Absolutly
YES, Metropolis part 1
The 1st dream theatre song I ever heard was The Dark Eternal Night and it blew my mind
Yeah, Metropolis part 1 is a great intro to Dream Theater.
dark eternal night
Children Of Bodom - In your face
Wintersun-Winter madness
Sons of winter and stars. You need some stamina for that one.
Herman li and sam totman are amazing guitar heroes.
"Heroes of our time"....lol
Dude if you like this Dragonforce song, you should check out Soldiers of the Wasteland, The Game, Three Hammers, Ashes of the Dawn, and Heroes of our Time. There is so much good music out there for you to experience!
Soldiers of the Wasteland!!!
trails of broken hearts and starfire
I love heroes of our time
valley of the damned and inside the winters storm
Am I the only one who liked Cry of the Brave?
In flames - The quiet place
BTW, check out Dragonforce with new vocalist Marc Hudson. I would recommend song Cry Thunder.
Vlad Night Great song, Last Man Stands is another epic masterpiece.
Totally agreed, dude! Honestly, I love this song even more than Cry Thunder. That solo and bass line are so good.
Good choice, Three Hammers is another one
Vlad Night Not related but love the St. Anger pic
Wait till he hears the new singer...
REACT TO CRY THUNDER!!!!!
ZackOvAllTrades he’s ok!
@Rufus McDoofus I think the new singer is the better singer but I think, he don´t fit into Dragonforce.
The old singer in this video looks like weird Al with that hair lolol
Another good Dragonforce song is Land Where Dragons Rule and it's actually the very first one I head, my little brother, who is a huge metal head, let me hear it once and told me the band name and I got to looking around for them and that's how I found Dragonforce and their awesome music...and even more awesome shreds. Also when I say my little bro is a metal head..I mean he listens to pretty much any type of metal music..heavy, grunge, growl, screamo..if it's metal he's probably listened to at least one song from each type.
ShinKyuubi *Where Dragons Rule
Theres No Land. The singer says it but there's no land in the title .
Also Cry Thunder
Valley of the damned is a great album 🤘
Watching someone listen to Dragonforce for the 1st tome is like watching a newborn open his eyes for the 1st time.
You know man, this is not even the full version of the song: the full version, witch is the same of Guitar Heroes, is 7 minutes kong and the solos are even more powerfull than this.
I really suggest you to get it: you won't regret it^^
