I know... I have a very different style to Luke but I think we can all agree she is basic in the worst and saddest possible way because she doesn't even know it
@@anonymousanonymous1859 same. I think she knows it but she also knows that it sells and thats what Dior aims for. It's just a shame because they are one of the big houses and they have such beautiful history and then.... just belts and basic ass styles we can see in forever 21
@Margarida Ramalho you’re right. Christian Dior himself is my hero. My style is strongly influenced by him. It breaks my heart to see everything he did undone and then some. Get out Maria you don’t belong here!
luke serving us young math teacher, the type that gives people good grades and everyone likes him but somehow always forgets his name when annual 'best teacher' vote is on
Aesthetically, they are very in sync. Love both Raf and Prada and can’t wait for their collections together! This does, however, feel like the first step in a succession plan.
Could you do a video roasting/ reviewing miss universe and miss America pageants? Like the evening gowns maybe, I think it would be interesting to hear you thoughts x
I love these kind of videos more than the roasts, it was so informative and clear. I can see you are very knowledgeable a also very good at explaining and drawing references.
i really love how you make things easy for laypeople with not a lot of fashion knowledge, like myself, to understand. i remember raf's name being mentioned once or twice in previous videos of yours but i didnt know who he was or why i should care about prada hiring him but now i get it! thank you for being so informative!
I don't know much about the industry, but what Raf said about designers switching fashion house each season sounds super interesting! Imagine the new dimensions that would give to collections! Also I really like these "informative" videos. Like I said I'm not super well known with the industry, so keep em coming :)
I think you’re so talented, smart, and intelligent. I enjoy your perspective and point of view. Your content and ideas are substantial, refreshing, unapologetic and authentic. It’s clear your passion is the cornerstone for this channel and all your other endeavors, thanks again 👌🏼
OMG I am so excited to see your channel expand so much. Also I am quite curious to see what Raf is gonna be up to in Prada. Gonna be interesting (at least one can hope, mainstream fashion has been a bit boring recently not gonna lie. At London FW, I got impressed mostly by the grad students work from CSM and Westminster uni)
Great analysis! The conversation between Miuccia and Raf reminded my of Pucci who also implements the strategy now of having guest designers create a collection
I think this is one of the best and most insightful videos you've done. I loved Raf's designs when he was at Dior and Maria Grazia has taken the brand straight downhill.
I celebrate the collab. Other brands should take notes. And please Chanel, Dior....there are many talented experienced designed in the sea. Go fising. Send what you have to the ocean again, they will be okay, but not where they are now.F * please. Great work Luke, i had no idea and you made my day!🖤🖤
Love Prada, love Raf's aesthetics. But as artistic as they are, both have experienced mayor setbacks in the business side of Fashion. Raf bankrupted Calvin Klein Collection to it's literal demise + his men's collection it's irrelevant, and Prada the brand it's suffering an all time low on worldwide sales and the stock market value of Prada Group has dropped 35% (OUCH!) in the last 5 years. Both are in desperate need of a success story. And that's the real story behind the "artistic geniuses coming toguether " narrative pushed by the selected media who were afforded exclusive news. BTW, loving your butch trailer park Lesbian look on this vid! Heading to Loic Prigent's channel for the real deal, ciao bella!!
Miuccia is an icon and just thinking about the day she’ll retire is something that I don’t even want to think about. Raf on the other hand, learning and working with Miuccia is something that I can’t even fathom as well. My expectations are so high and I can’t wait to see the magic they’ll create.
i love the amount of research and comparisons you put into these videos! I’m slowly getting into fashion and your videos are so educational and fun while talking about the current state of the industry! mwah 💋
I’m so excited for Prada now! Hopefully it will bring back some of the fantasy and magic that fashion had, and that big brands seem to be lacking nowadays
On a long haul flight I recently watched two fashion documentaries (McQueen & Ralph Lauren) thanks to you! Never thought they would be on my watch list but they were so good! You really sparked my interest in fashion 🤩
Helmut Lang’s structure is like what Raf and Miuccia we’re talking about. Helmut Lang took an “editor” and would hire different creative directors every season (whether they’re good or not). I think it’s interesting to see designers interpret the house codes in their own way. Excited for Raf and Miuccia!
In all honesty I did not expect this to happen. Raf and Miuccia seem to be two very different designers, but I guess that's why this enlisting happened. I'm looking forward to see how the Prada menswear collections will look like in the future!
the line "f**K the haters, 'cause it's hard to heard them as they choke on the c**ks of the luxury brands shooting advertisement money down their throats" was so metaphorical (almost lyrical) that it HAD to be rehearsed! IT WAS SUBLIME! My jaw is on the floor
I think with his background, thzre same intressted, and Raf respectful designing for the brands he worked on (he adepts himself without loosing his own dna) yes if they comunitad well this would work out really well. We will see 💗
"Miuccia Prada has a complex about fashion being 'superficial and dumb'. She doesn't sew, embroider, sketch etc. Instead she surrounds herself with talented people who translates her themes, concepts, and taste into clothes...this unusual approach has made her one of the most influential designers in the world, and one of the most powerful women in Europe." Always knew why there was a reason why I love Miuccia so much! ❤️
should we go back to the 80s and see how these brilliant minds came to be, reap a new ethos, and bloom as our wonderful present incl. gaultier and the young geniuses
I think there stands the future of fashion system. It's not going at all an overnight change, 'cause the situation might be overwhelming for some, but as raf said people would be excited to see a circular motion for designers to switch brands and guess what it would also be highly stimulating for a designer to test his limits doing another brand and therefore test his creation and enlarge it, it would just make an ever more open minded fashion world that will hopefully then touch customers and the system and the world !!!!! ahahh not to be dramatic

This is such well researched commentary, Luke. Love your passion for fashion ... not since Elsa Klench have I followed haute couture like this.
