I was laughing and my partner who has never played any RTS game didn't understand why I was amused at a whole series happening in the time ONE game of any other match up happens.
Hey man thanks so much for the content. Playing broodwar custom games was one of my formative videogame moments as a kid and i had no idea there was still such an awesome competitive scene. Love the coverage!
Building a hatchery feels like a very risky move. I wonder if putting a macro hatch on the high ground could have been a way to address early ling pressure, while taking some long term advantage.
oh my gosh.. ZvZ is really no joke, FAST! I saw the time 20 minute video, i thought it was perhaps 2 games? LITTLE DID I KNOW, we will know who the 3rd and 4th place by the end of 20 minutes.
This match up is so random. I know skill comes into it to some extent, but mostly it seems like “I randomly pick a build and hope it counters whatever my opponent picked”
Was there a single hatch first win in ZvZ this tournament? It seems like it loses to literally every other build that was played, so I don't quite understand why the players keep trying it.
I don't either. Like what are they hedging against? That the other player also maybe went hatch first? But what does that matter? It's like some deranged prisoner's dilemma that maybe your opponent wants to also play a macro game instead of just win.
The matchup is not broken but the maps are. I'd wish that mapmakers start making zvz-specific maps to make the matchup more interesting. Just take the gas away from the natural expansion and we might see hydras more often.
Watching these, I think I understand a little more why people generally don't watch as much ZvZ... I love it when it gets to mutalisk micro, but watching only lings beat each other up feels kinda lame.
I suppose I get what I asked for, lol... I keep looking for ways to extend powercurve of zerglings, forgot that works in ZvZ too, where it reigns as King of the Underground Knife Fighting Ring for 3-4 minutes every game. Feels weird that we call it an S-tier unit and not look for ways to sustain usefulness throughout all phases of the game. Even Mutas after harass period are able to smoothly transition into drop defense and sniping high gas targets (stormers or plagued vessels). Using Carapace upgrades to maintain or extend advantage for ultras, is already a widely accepted strategy. why wouldn't we want +3 carapace for cracklings that just laugh at cannon defenses even without dark swarm.

Except it's random only in who has the 'brains' to mindlessly rush the spawning pool first and spam lings to keep low tech pressure and punish the enemy if they 'greed' to get eco. Those games just cemented in my brain that z is like gravity to punish economy players that dare to jump.

Ah, zvz. Where seeing a 20min video makes you wonder "This might just cover all bo5 games" :D

@@patrickmontague3887 Classic knife fight in a phone booth
I was also like wtf did just watch XD but it kinda makes me happy we get the scan games sooner
One TVT would be twice the length of the whole series lol
I would give a lot to see a pro ZvZ game that covers majority of the map's minerals. Only in dreams I guess.
I really like seeing zvz from time to time. Wouldn’t want to watch it ALL the time , but it’s cool now and then
I think this might be the most ideal way to watch it, too. 1 series in 1 video that way your not sure the game count
I remember years ago, I once saw a ZvZ go into the late game and Devourers showed up. It felt like Christmas.
I watch this Channel literally every day. You keep this great content coming, I keep watching for 50 years until I drop dead. Hahaha. Thanks!
Same, is a dependable service to the gaming community ❤

4:20 I am mentally screaming FINISH THE HATCH! !!!!!!!!!!
He was right not to commit. These guys know what they're doing, believe it or not.
I am just glad the finals weren't zvz. That would have been a sad end to a great tournament.
that's what we bloody had for asl. how anticlimactic
@@thgffful the ASL ZvZ finals was pretty damn good though
@@AqoCyrale rock paper scissors
Hahaha! This was fun. I was looking forward to have an entire series for this 2 on this upload and was right.
Good stuff. Excited for the finals. Congrats to all the players that participated. Really great competition. Thanks Artosis.
@artosis Finally man finally got answer to my prayers and we have whole match in one video
ZvZ is a curse for Zerg players being chose the best race in the game
Starcraft truly is fine wine
Fr
I'm simple 1980s dude. I see a new arthosis video I press click.
that was the quickest series ever. so glad it was for 3rd place. i think that was somehow less eventful than the asl finals lol
Building a hatchery feels like a very risky move. I wonder if putting a macro hatch on the high ground could have been a way to address early ling pressure, while taking some long term advantage.
man, but the mirror matches always look like the craziest of games
Starcraft Brood War will forever be the first E-Sport.
Thats so cool
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE
"It's gonna be a ZvZ! Should be a... ZvZ!" pretty much summed it up
Tastosis: ThE mAtcHup IS EvOLVIng!!
*Watches Mutaling back to back *
hope this one is more eventful than the asl finals this year haha
Is this ASL finals or what
lol this is why I say that in the ASL, the grand finals should be like a Bo11 if it's ZvZ.
I think it was Tasteless who said ZvZ is like one of those gang knife fights, where they chain their wrists together. Indeed.
Hopefully I can figure out how to enjoy zvz soon. I like the other mirrors plenty
Artosis, is 4 pool not a thing in zvz?
The random blue Assimilator on the thumbnail made me chuckle.
Dammit zvz… not scan yet
Random thought, how different would zvz be if hydras did concussive damage instead of explosive?
17:50 I'm thinking it's time to make a zergling wall, next thing ya know miso has run out into yoon's speedlings, sheesh
That was crazy fast
oh my gosh.. ZvZ is really no joke, FAST!

LITTLE DID I KNOW, we will know who the 3rd and 4th place by the end of 20 minutes.
oh my gosh, watching again... Yoon's zerglings lead the way to 3rd! whoooo
hey, might be a stupid question, but why do BW pros switch colors every game?
Just wishing those amazing mid-late games from last year's ASL would be more normal, would make this matchup more interesting at least.
Good ol zergling rush
This match up is so random. I know skill comes into it to some extent, but mostly it seems like “I randomly pick a build and hope it counters whatever my opponent picked”
I'd love to see a zerg builds that force into a later game. Wishful thinking but man, current state zvz is piss compared to the other matchups.
Holy crap zvz is so fast and brutal
Get more than one Zerg on the same street and this is what you get.
Potential Spoiler: Thanks for the casts and games Artosis!
It’s crazy how different ZvZ is. You sometimes forget until you show us 4 games in a single cast lol
The build didn't work for Miso at all. So what does he do? Continues doing the same thing. 🙄

Exactly!!! Why didn't he finish the hatch! LOL

Great games for a mirror match.
Faster build won everytime, even the like 10-15 second ling speed advantage won
ZvZ just broken. Sad games.
Artosis i am E rank Terran please do a new player guide on how to be good like you 😭
I jump in starcraft as a protoss and get 1700 MMR . I play around once every 3 months and got no build
@@trumpisbackboi lmao how are you not S yet, u playin mouse only?
zvz is why I picked terran.
not even zerg is safe from the zergling pressure into muta builds
I want it on record that the entire best of 5 is done in one video, repeat one video.
Z is such a degenerate faction.
ZvZ rules, I don't know what people are on about, you need rushes and early game just like you need macro and late game
Zerglings
R-Toe-Sis
I feel like Miso could win if he built Sunken Colony in 4th game.
Zerglings can't kill a sunken colony.
Zvz is peak
SPOILER BLOCK. First Comment! uwu
Now I'm sure of it, I don't like ZvZ
:)
Blocking them spoilers like Artosis blocks supply when missing a depot
Spoiler didn't make.... 😫
zzzzz great tourney to these two gents tho
zvz so cheese
19 min = 4 ZvZ or 1 macro game
Watching these, I think I understand a little more why people generally don't watch as much ZvZ... I love it when it gets to mutalisk micro, but watching only lings beat each other up feels kinda lame.

gosh, i think ZvZ are the most boring rushes to Mutas
ZvZ is so bad. It's at least over fast.
Haha z v z is fucked.
0:23 The word is "versus," not "verse."
cope
Man I wish Miso had beat Motive. Scan would have an easy finals and there's no zvz 🤷♂️
you want miso to be a jobber, lol. Motive is on fire for this tournament, honestly hope he wins.
ZvZ...zzzzzzzz
ZvZs players should just flip a coin for a win. Cant watch this crap for more than 2 minutes.
ZvZ is a sick joke.
