- In this video, I breakdown our favorite chaotic Seventh Piraka's actions throughout the story to show that he actually isn't all that evil. In fact, overall he can be considered to have had a net positive impact on the universe!

Vezon did nothing wrong but he didn't do anything right either. He simply did things.
He really did things
@@heroranuva8295 I have no strong feelings one way or the other!
Chaotic neutral
Honetly, he's more of an antagonist than a villain even in the Voya Nui arc. Zaktan was the actual "main villain" of that arc. Vezon was just kinda viibing in a volcano with a rather large toothy spider thing and the single most important artifact in the universe.
I agree.
Yeah, he was antagonist and opposed the heroes' goals, but in a way what he was doing was "good" because the mask did legitimately need guarding
...god that must have bein boring as heck
@@heroranuva8295Are the words antagonist and villain sound the same thing?
@@heroranuva8295because I have a feeling that antagonist and villain are the same thing.
Vezon is probably one of the first Chaotic Neutral characters in the story. You could argue that Dark Hunters came before, but they really are more Lawful Evil, since they do odd jobs for everyone while TSO plots his schemes of world domination.
Must be one of the reasons Bionicle Joker became Greg's pet character and he sent him on so many wacky side-gigs and adventures.
EDIT: You know that if any point Takanuva and Vezon see each other while dimension hopping they're gonna do the zoolander meme
Zoolander meme?
I would expect the umbrella academy car meme actually
Vezon is chaotic neutral personified.
Truly!
"And I say 'Vezon, you are badguy. But this does not mean you are bad guy'"
Ha! lmao!
Vezon, Takua and MU-Teridax going through the multiverse returning dark Takua's back to their Universes would be one hell of a Good time.
With maybe Mazeka to round it out! I dunno if its gonna be a good time for them, but it would be a great time for us!
that would be a fun story, and we cant forget Half of Tuyet
@@theconfidentchicken3414 in pretty sure If they found out what takanuva did to tuyet they would just clap and nod in aproval
Nice video! For me personally, Vezon's most sympathetic moment was when he, through Kongu's Suletu, heard the Ignika's thoughts. Contrary to what he had believed, it disliked him and desired a new bearer. Vezon was genuinely devastated, and confused, since he had done everything it asked of him. Always made me feel a little sad for him.
Oh yeah, that was genuinely sad! He just wanted purpose in the world and he thought he found it
the mask of life be like "vezon sucks"
my brother in mata nui you invited the bearer
To be honest, Vezon just was there.
He's the voice in your head that suddenly got body, and then massage, seemingly omnipotent power called out to him, offering him 9 to 5, and then got forcefully promoted to being mercenary.
He loves chaos, but besides that he's just somewhat of an asshole. And i would argue that he's just a child with ages of experience in murdering that he didn't really commited.
LMAO you're so right. He's literally Vezok's intrusive thoughts given a body to walk around in.
I think Greg once said that Vezon was partly inspired by Deadpool.
Cool!
i almost like to view Vezok and Vezon's relationship a little like Piccolo and Kami in Dragon Ball. Obviously it's not exactly like that, but it's thematically similar. would've been interesting to see them fuse back together into a fully complete being but with Vezon in control. would an interesting character moment for both of them
Oooh yeah that's an interesting parallel. And yeah you're right, if they recombined, but with Vezon in control that would be fascinating, I never thought about that! Lol, maybe they could do a thing like Dragon Ball Z Abridged and have Vezok's voice in Vezon's head XD
@@heroranuva8295 oh my god I'd pay to see that animated and voiced
Well now vezok and the rest of the Piraka are fused into the Gold skinned being. So now tecnicaly Vezon is the long lost brother of a god.
Eat that makuta! he didn't even WANT to be related to a god!
He’s basically Deadpool
Yeah honestly he is a lot like Deadpool. He even makes references to other works of fiction, bordering on 4th wall breaks
Yeah this is a very fun analysis, I enjoyed Vezon a lot. His split is actually somewhat reminiscent of a DID split, though he's more like a fusion in reverse: see, when an individual with DID exists as a system, the different alters (personalities) possess different characteristics, inclinations, abilities, sense of self, and so on. Yet they have only one physical appearance and they have the potential to share their memories, and when they do, they distinctly feel that it was not them in the other alter's memories.
A system can, through extensive therapy, undergo a fusion, where the different aspects of the various alters are combined into a single cohesive personality, which combines everything, any characteristic, memory or ability that any alter ever had.
Which is why I say Vezok's split was like a DID fusion in reverse: he went from a singular being with a set of skills, memories and personality traits, to two entities with different personalities, separate skillsets, shared memories but no shared sense of self, and one of them has the same appearance as the original, while the other one looks different. All very similar to DID, but in reverse, like I said.
That’s a very cool and interesting way of looking at it
Huh, wow that's really interesting, I hadn't thought of it like that, but yeah it totally is like a fusion in reverse, with each alter gaining a new body. Now I'm wondering about the potential for a fan fic that explores it like that, and how Vezok and Vezon are alters that have different opinions about refusing, Vezok would want to go through the process but Vezon does not.
@@heroranuva8295 Oh yeah there’s that whole aspect too! Wouldn’t you know!
And while we’re on the subject Dekar turning into Hydraxon is like an introject being formed
Except it has physical ramifications…
Now I want a similar video as this for Krika
Krika definitely did evil things and he seems to regret it heavily
@@Jake-yz3qv To quote a certain dragon:
"What is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?"
@@Jake-yz3qvHim talking about his hatred for Toa makes it harder to see him as not an evil character but Krika was definitely a sympathetic character
Breath twice if Vezon is holding you at gunpoint
Now he reminds me of discord but more crazy and less powerful
Vezon is my favorite character in Bionicle as a whole, that is a very nice analysis of him! Especially pointing out how in the story it's subtle hinted how it bothers him to not have a purpose.
It would be fun to see Takanuva and Vezon interact since Vezon is the only one with a dimensional gates mask now.
Yeah, Vezon is really interesting! Its funny how much implied depth and subtly there are in the characters. Bionicle doesn't always spend a lot of time having the characters be intropective, but they still show their depth in cool ways!
And yeah Vezon and Takanuva on an adventure would be such a trippy buddy roadtrip story
Hmmmm.....even though for most of the story he did seem more like an unpredictable "chaotic neutral" character than than an outright villain, I don't think I would go anywhere near as far as calling him harmless.
There were several instances throughout the story where he seemed genuinely evil or malevolent. He tried killing Matoro in a jealous rage not out of his duty to protect the Ignika, but out of anger, jealousy, insecurity, and spite, and would later follow the Toa Inika down The Cord and attack them, even though they didn't have the Ignika at that point, slamming Matoro"s head against a wall during his assault, which seems to suggest the attack to be more motivated out of spite and vengeance for taking the Ignika from him rather than an effort to reclaim it for himself, and later tried to trade the lives of the Inika for his own to a tribe of Zyglak.
During his time as a Federation of Fear member he seemed maliciously and sadistically enthusiastic about the prospect of giving a Steltian trader a "light tap" on the head, Brutaka later telling him "You enjoy your work a little too much," after he was upset about not getting the chance to do so.
So while he probably wasn't completely evil, and there was one or two times in the story that he appeared to be good or do something heroic or benevolent, calling him innocent or saying he did nothing wrong is a pretty big stretch to me.
You may be badguy, but that does not make you "Bad Guy"
Hes not evil, hes just crazy. There's a difference
Vezon be playin 5d chess and not givin one single fuck
I saw the boss fight that had vezon and didn’t know his character at all. But then I realized that he’s a lot more canonically than just the guy that falls in the lava after defeating him in the game.
Lmao yeah, I'm guessing you were playing Bionicle Heroes? That was a pretty good game
I was thinking if you could make a video of explaining every single Toa from the bionicle timeline in timeline order. It would be pretty cool to see
I considered him good or neutral at the time he saved Lewa and the rest of the Bota Magna squad
Yeah honestly by that point all he did was help people
Like the other Piraka, Vezon has a thief and the Kanohi Ignika cursed him because he was not worthy of the Mask.
Im not attacking Vezon, i like the character, but that`s the reason why he was cursed.
He's kinda like the joker of Bionicle
Lol he kind of is, but only in being chaotic, he's nowhere near as cruel as the Joker. Honestly he might be closer to Deadpool
Well thank God he doesn't have discord powers from MLP friendship is magic
Herora completely left out or omitted a fact that contradicted his argument in this video. When Vezon pursued and confronted the Toa Inika in The Cord, while we don't know all the details of what happened, we know he attacked Matoro and slammed his head against the wall of The Cord, and tried to trade their lives to a tribe of Zyglak for his own, which seems pretty vicious and cruel and evil to me. I'm not saying it was intentional, but still.
in one of bionicles many religious allusions, vezok and vezons relationship seem like a parallel to Adam and Eve in genesis. vezon is the inessential other created from the rib of the essential vezok.
Huh, that's a pretty interesting way to look at it.
My favorite character in all of Bionicle totally awesome to this day
He's great!
This is just further proof that Vezon is Best Girl
You are so extremely correct
Wow it's amazing robot God bless
Thanks!
Would love to see a video like this for Nocturn tbh
Very interesting video. Agree with you about him.
Thanks!
I was thinking exactly that, he's really not been evil, hes just crazy, and i love him for it
vezon is one of my favorite bionicle characters and sets! he cool.
Vezon givin off Red Skull vibes after this video
Chaotic-Neutral:
There's a reason why the original name of my channel was Vezon. Fuckin love this guy.
He's great
He's just a silly little guy, He's just goofball, you know?
Perfect description
@@lukestarkiller1470 thank you
He does a little trolling
Just a funny lad!
I guess when you do think about it he may be psychotic and malicious but he never harmed anyone for selfish or evil reasons
Except for that time he slammed Matoro's head against the wall of The Cord out of jealousy of him being favored by the Ignika over him. So actually, yes, he has harmed someone for selfish or evil reasons before.
And the time he tried to kill Matoro in a jealous rage by fusing him with lava after Kongu using the Suletu projected the Ignika's thoughts into Vezon's mind and he learned the Ignika desired Matoro as its new guardian instead of him.
I'm a agreed with you bro
Vezon IS NOT "Bionicle's Joker" NOR "Bionicle's Venom" like all these newcomers or Federation of Fear want to make him out as. He is the final boss of 2006 through and through.
Sorry but Federation of Fear and its consequences have been a disaster to Bionicle.
Can you do some videos on wasted potential that Bionicle had
Yeah, there was tons of wasted story and characters in BIONICLE
@@jamesmcrae9360 I'm gonna list some wasted potential, and then you go.
1. Merander
2. Annihilator
3. Mimic
4. The kanohi dragon and Tahtorak
5. Mutran's expiriments
6. The toa Hordika, struggling to keep their sanity
7. The Rahi Nui
@@arielriquelme913 All the story potential of the inhabitants of the Matoran Universe/ GS Robot interacting with the natives of Spherus Magna after Teridax's defeat and the subsequent evacuation of everyone living inside him after G1's main story ended.
Pretty much all the Makuta except Teridax, Miserix, and maybe Mutran getting relatively little screentime after the Brotherhood of Makuta getting namedropped and built up and referenced for years only for all of them to be killed off only a year after being introduced to all of them.
There's probably way more but those are the main two I can think of off the top of my head.
@@arielriquelme913 Yeah, most of the Dark Hunters only appeared in their entries in the Dark Hunters guidebook IIRC and then never really appeared or were even mentioned in the story after that.
@@arielriquelme913 Bionicle never getting a proper TV show too.
Sorry Herora, can't really agree with you on this take, along with pretty much anyone in the comments. While he did seem like a wild card chaotic neutral character most of the time, he still did some things that can be considered evil, like trying to trade the lives of the Toa Inika to a tribe of Zyglak for his own. While he wasn't exactly "evil", I would hardly call him innocent.
He never called him a full on hero
