- In this video I show you how to change the lower unit oil on pretty much any Yamaha outboard engine. All you need is some lower unit lube, a pan to catch the oil, the pump tool (link below), and new crush washers specific to your engine.

Great video 👍 did you find out what the golden/brown oil indicates? Mine basically the same colour!?
As long as it's not white and milky there is no water in the oil (my biggest concern) I have put many hrs on this boat since the video and everything is okay.
The outboard should always be level when doing this procedure...not tilted up.

Ok why did you make this video?it's totally wrong motor needs to be level strait down when draining and filling you best check it again and do it right bc you are low on oil this way
It just bothers me to see anyone do any kind of maintenance with no shoes on not safe could be dangerous and could get injured for really no reason but laziness. Where r all the real men these days ...just saying!
