I agree didn’t show weather he firstly put it into gear how he changed the impeller what direction he spun the housing how he lined up putting the lower unit back up what torque settings to use
Do you have a picture of the impeller? I’m curious to see what it looked like. I got an overheating alarm the other day on the same motor. I’m thinking about your other video and cleaning out the water jacket. Pretty sure that super dirty. I’m getting a weak stream coming out so it’s either the impeller for the salt buildup in the engine.
Hi -- I have the same motor but 150hp. Motor runs great on the hose but under load bogs down, seems like not all cylinders are firing and boat doesn't come near plane. Any tips to diagnose before I take it somewhere?
Yes I had same issue a couple years ago. I bet it has gotten progressively worse right . ? I bet in the past you could get on plane then it would come off then got worse . It’s the carbs. You need a carb job . Take it to an outboard repair shop that you trust . In south Florida we have Eric’s . It’s per carburetor they will charge you but you will be all good to go .
@@arnoldtrevilla thanks for the reply! Honestly, it hasn't been run enough to notice and probably part of the issue (old gas). I'm up in Palm Beach County and unfortunately my mechanic has retired after 40yrs in business so will have to locate a shop.
what do you think about this engine things like consumption and problems compared to new engines is it easy to maintain end to find parts ? I'm think to buy one this here in Brasil with 500 hrs used stop in the garage 5 year
I love this engine super reliable and easy to fix it’s a 2 stroke so yes much easier than 4 stroke and newer to fix but it does consume a good amount of fuel compared to a newer 4 stroke .
Just love how you said video on how to do water pump and you didn’t show putting the hard part together great video

I just did mine last weekend on the exact same engine. Thank you for this video. It was a great help.
Thank you
Great instructional videos on your ox66. I have the same outboard and you've helped me a great deal. Thank you.
FYI: That isn’t a trim-tab, it’s a zinc that should corrode and be replaced every few years. That additional 7th bolt is what holds the zinc on!
Gearbox in neutral before starting? Thanks

did you have to remove the halfmoon lock to remove the water pump plate?

I pumped all old gas out, carbs still needed cleaned tho. We're back floating!
Have you ran the boat since doing this? I was told the shaft should go in all the way without tightening bolts
Yes I put shaft in all the way. And put bolts in and tightened them(Lower unit bolts ) evenly all the way around
You work on ox66 a lot or just yours
👍🤗
The main part should have been shown, going back with the water propeller
Would all this be the same on a 2004 200hp salt water series II
Mike if the engine layout is the same with the water jackets at the back of the cowling then yes
My apologies I thought you were commenting on my other video . No do not assume that but would be surprised if there were much difference .
Is that a 25 in shaft or 30in
30

@@arnoldtrevilla thanks per your attention DY
Love mine it pushes mt 23 CC really well.Wide open 41 mph cruises at 30 and it does get 2.3 gallons per mile not the best but hey its reliable
That bushing ain’t broken! They have a split in them
What

Yep .
