We hope you are excited for this episode, several subscribers have asked for a video on Beth Harmon and her wardrobe in The Queen’s Gambit, we are happy to showcase some items from the store to reference the costumes in this popular mini-series, which was costumed by Gabriele Binder. In this episode Doris’ showcases pieces from 50s and 60s. Even a haute couture Jean Patou, which is stunning, a couture color blocking dream.

For me, the most interesting part of your collection are garments by american designers from the 1960s and 70s. I'm very into american fashion from that time, and in Poland, where I live, it's really difficult to find ant of that. It would be my dream to own one of Norell's, Hallston's or Burrows' designs.
I totally loved the Queen's Gambit. I was think of you Doris during every episode. I very much interested in vintage scarves. I like to wear them as a head wrap which looks like a big trend for the coming year.

Doris you’re the best. I have such a hard time fitting into vintage clothes. I get lucky on occasion and I find something that fits me. My body type is similar to yours I would guess short and busty. Lol. But I’ve never been more comfortable in my skin as I do in my 50’s. Oh my goodness, how to even choose?! I would have to say the Red Va Va Voom Pleated Strapless 1950’s dress. It’s my EXACT measurements and is jaw dropping. It’s the sort of thing I could never justify buying but want so badly! But honestly I would take ANYTHING from your store!!

Ok, I hate and LOVE your store! First off I do not have the budget to be shopping here yet found myself randomly scrolling and couldn't stop imagining how each item will look. It was really fun imagining having the money to buy a item and honestly couldn't decide on just one. So saving myself the struggle of picking one I have a list. Sigh... Wow what an amazing opportunity, I have been watching you for a few years now when I accidentally discovered the Smithsonian channel. You and your team perfectly encapsulate why I and so many love fashion, for the rich history and fabulous pieces of art. Sadly I live in England BUT your store in LA is on my bucket list so hopefully I can make it there one day. That does not however stop me form virtual window shopping as I often imagine what I would buy to wear for events like the Oscars ( a girl can dream).

You know that moment when you see an outfit and it just speaks to your soul and makes you feel really warm inside but also gives you butterflies? Wow! $500 to the store... I can only imagine what to buy. I'd hope to get a vintage leather jacket for my 15 yr old daughter, she really really wants one. Cropped, not necessarily moto but possibly, maybe aviator. If that would not be possible.... Vintage Chanel. Really can't go wrong there!

Hi Doris! I came across your channel around 2017 when I saw the video with you and Dita Von Tease, I live in LA and came upon your store, all the pieces were absolutely beautiful the staff were very nice to me (even though I didn’t buy anything because I couldn’t afford it ) but just looking at true vintage gowns inspired me to start dressing vintage about four years ago and I would love to just own a true vintage black fit and flare gown for my sister's wedding (after the pandemic of course) it would mean so much especially someone who is pursuing a career in fashion! I love the Todd Oldham blue jacket - anything that even closely resembles something Fran Fine would've worn is a go for me! (Your The Nanny episode is one of my all time favorites that you've ever done.) I also love the Anne Fogerty daisy print jersey dress, it looks like it would be so flattering and comfy for fall with some boots or for spring with some espadrilles. I loved the Queen's Gambit, and your episode about the costumes through the decades. My all-time favorite (very hard to choose), episode is the one you did about Moira Rose. Schitt's Creek brought us a lot of relief during the pandemic. I have looked at the YSL 80S BLACK SHORT SLEEVED EVENING JACKET WITH TASSELS AND BEADED FRINGE a million times. While I can't justify the expense right now, I would wear it with the same joy January 20th brought the nation!! Once I have the vaccine I would be on the first plane to L.A. to meet you, because that would be a dream come true!

The 1960’s raspberry all over sequin gown gives me goosebumps. The color is really stunning and the silhouette is simple and elegant...the 30’d peach lace dressing gown 🤤 also... the Moschino 90’s Leopard pencil skirt paired with the white cropped sweater.
