As a 70's woman; I really loved t;is particular episode. I am 73 and wish I had some of my clothes from that period. Love your work Doris. Please don't ever give up.
Content is amazing, but Doris is such a genuinely good human being.
One thing that I love about watching your channel is that you give us a look inside of the garments with comments about construction and the various technics used to achieve the shapes and forms. You're also knowledgeable about textiles-you are a treasure!
Like other comments, I also wish to thank Doris and crew of The Way We Wore for continuing to post content. Videos on things such as fashion, jewelry, accessories give me a "mind-vacations" away from the stress of reality. With all the treasures in the main store and the fabric section, there are so many themes: Art Deco, Asian, handcrafts, tailoring, gala styles that can be explored. I leave it up to the imagination of The Way We Wore.
Fashion aside I just love listening to you. I find you have the most soothing voice
I love the Missoni and the Stavropoulos! You've shown that label before and I swooned then too 💓
Thank you this show really helped me I lost my husband in2020 and my younger brother in 2021 when i cant sleep i watch you thanks
Hi Peggy. I am so sorry that such important people have passed on in your life. So glad you found some comfort watching our show. I hope you have a good support system.
Sending you a hug and sympathy as well.
Doris
The smocked peignoir set brought back memories for me. My late mother had a similar set, which I always wanted to be able to wear. I'm not sure what happened to it, and it wasn't quite as elegant as the one shown. The smocking made it seem very unique, and as Doris says, it offers a forgiving and yet flattering fit.
Don’t worry Doris
None of us know mask etiquette yet no harm done xx
Doris you have absolutely nothing to apologize for! We come here to learn
Wonderful apology, Doris! It takes guts to do that and was a helpful reminder to all.
You are such a gracious lady. I have been in healthcare my entire adult life, and know very little about fashion...and love learning from you!
I think we should all stay in our own lanes, lol. You owe no apologies. No one should expect you to understand PPE anymore than any person should expect me to know jersey from chiffon! Btw; I learned those words from you, thanks!
Stay well!
I appreciate your graceful apology on the mask subject. Also: Compassion is a revolutionary act in some aspects in these times.
Thank you for your great work!
All the best from Germany!
That was ridiulous to scold you for lowering your mask to talk. You were incredibly gracious. As Pikake said, we aren't watching for COVID-19 mask wearing tutorials, we are actually watching to escape from the madness to another time. Thank you for all you do and the effort you put in to bring these lovely visions of times gone by to us.
Christa
It wasn’t a scolding. It was a gentle nudge. She was gracious and she is a hero.
You're amazing Doris. I love you're videos 💞💞
That clack Valentino gown is stunning. So simple, but yet soooo gorgeous
Thank you Doris. Loved this episode. I can listen to Doris all day. Each episode I learn no much about vintage fashions, designers, textiles and stories behind the pieces. So glad I stumbled upon this web series.
you are such a decent human being Doris, you truly are
Bravo, Doris. Youre one classy dame. You handle all of your interaction with the public in manner that depicts graciousness and respect. im forever a fan of you, your store and of course your encyclopedic knowledge of design and fashion. always a thumbs up. Have a great day today, ok?
As a gunne addict, I had to go into my closet and run my hands through my Gunne Sax by Jessica McClintock pieces... love to see her get a mention !
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!!
YOU HAVE BEEN SUCH AN AMAZING COMPANION DURING THESE UNUSUAL TIMES.
I HOPE THAT ONE DAY I WILL VISIT YOUR BEAUTIFUL STORE.
Hi Doris! That smocked lounge two piece is absolutely stunning. I am currently a fashion contour student in the UK and would love to see more interesting lounge/lingerie pieces! Studying at home is proving tough for inspiration! Thank you so much for still filming at this difficult time!
Thank you for your interesting content. I have learnt so much from you. You have an extremely calming presence and it saddens me that you had to apologise when you made it clear that your shop was closed. Please continue to share beautiful things with us!
Thank you Doris for sharing the gift of your expertise. You are a genuine, sensitive, kind soul showcasing the sublime beauty of vintage. These nostalgic treasures are a healing to us all.
Goodness, a 20s lounging pyjama, I'd kill to have something like this. Thanks for showing!
And no need to apologize for the mask. You explained the situation in your shop in that video and not wearing it seemed perfectly reasonable.
I think everything you're doing is just right for who you are. Follow your bliss ya know! Thank you for the content, it is excellent knowledge that needs to be shared!
Wow... The Valentino Dress with the arrow... And the last dress... I love them.
I love watching your videos, Doris, I feel so relaxed, specially during these stressful times, and have learned a lot! I don't mind anything else. Gracias!
You’re absolutely fabulous! I normally don’t comment but today’s charity choice was just admirable, much love, stay healthy and keep sharing these amazing designer pieces
Thank you Doris for putting your time and love into these videos ! Very much appreciate it.
I think Doris always conducts herself with such good Grace and manners, I find it very inspirational, I think it would be amazing to visit her shop like stepping into heaven! I would have to travel to America but maybe one day, I love that these videos give you a little peak, just the pick me up I need and probably we all need at the moment thank you!!
Thank you for bringing us something to look forward to during these times. Stay safe and healthy, Doris.
Doris, I am here for your brilliance, joy, and extensive knowledge... you owe me nothing but thank you for all you give! Also, Valentino! 😍 Gah!!
Doris you always make my day.
I love the fact that I am learning something new every time I watch you channel. Thank you so much for sharing.
Wonderfully varied and eclectic collection! I so appreciate you sharing your expertise and passion with us---and really appreciate your continued effort to post regular new videos during this time.....we truly need content like this now. Blessings!
Thank you Doris for sharing these lovely pieces. I admire you love of fashion and your historical background you give. It’s always a learning experience! Take care everyone!
Hello, Doris. I’m new to your channel and enjoyed today’s video. I was about 10 when we had our bicentennial. Thanks for a trip down memory lane today by sharing the clothing worn during that time.
No need to apologize Doris:
You are a Fashion Collector, not a Doctor. So nobody thinks that you were learning us about how to wear a facemask...😷👍
seriously people can get so obnoxious not everything everywhere needs your policing and """expert opinion"". people get in the youtube comments section and think they're the only ones with a brain...

I am so grateful to have found your channel Doris. I always feel so much better. It's not just these BEATIFUL pieces of art you show us but you. I am refreshed by your kind, loving, genuine spirit. Stay safe Doris (and your crew).
Doris........I wish you had more Men's clothing to sell but I still love the Fashion History.
Another great video Doris. Keep well ❤️
Dear Doris, your work and input to our garment and history knowledge is impecable!!!! Thank you for trying your best even on those hard times! My mother owns a lot of Moschino, Lolita Lempika, Polatof, Escada, Max Mara, D&G and more clothes dating back from the late 70's until early 00s!! would love to show you!
That missoni is spectacular up close! I remember seeing the more colorful versions of that on runway vids but this is also wonderful!
We adore you Doris and really appreciate sharing your knowledge and passion for fashion. Big safe hugs from Indianapolis!
Thank you for being here. I am so inspired. Clearing cleaning. Looking things up and finding out I have good taste. LOL wonderful pieces. Will you mention your website url and be sure to post it in the first sentence of your note to subscribers. I have been sending folks to look at your web site. So wonderful and filled with rare goodies. Cheers!
Bless you Doris, you're a doll ❤️. Thank you for keeping us in a vintage wonderland, all the best 🌟
Doris, I am such a fan. I will not bore you with examples of moments that have captured my respect and such. Just please don't stop.....ever.
I want to thank you for these wonderful lessons in fashion history . I learned here more specific details than I could have done in school :-)
I appreciate your dedication to the task Doris; you are a national treasure 💕💕
Thank you Doris I love seeing your collection!
You are a lovely personality Doris! I enjoy you so much and I envy your choice of livelihood as it would be so enjoyable! I'm in middle Ameriica and hope to visit your shop someday when the world is safe again!
I love this! I hope you can do many more in-store picks... something about the randomness and variety I just love. Thank you!
I've been following your vids since I discovered your episodes on the Smithsonian channel. I appreciate your unparalleled depth of knowledge of fashion design; history, culture, craftsmanship and above all artistic expression. I enjoy reading comments from viewers after each episode, you are indeed beloved, your joy of all things fashion is infectious. Thank you for sharing your love of this art form with us, it has been such a treat during these unsettling times.
Delightful. I was a hippy and loved every minute of it. Those wonderful west coast bands. New philosophy combined with old. And a reverence for culture.
I would like to congratulate and thank you guys for the entertaining, thoughtful content and specially Doris for sharing your knowledge and mission with us viewers, imbued with such respect and ideals. Greetings from Brazil.
Every piece is just gorgeous. Thank you for showing us these exquisite artworks. Great Charity idea! Charity should never ever be political.
Thank you so much for making these videos during the pandemic. I've learnt so much from them and it's something that I look forward to.
This channel is a glorious distraction during trying times. Doris is a national treasure.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments....and wonderful videos. Stay safe, stay well.
I think you are wonderful. I can hear the compassion in your voice. That Valentino is classic.
I love how you can associate fashion with people, places, things. Every single piece you talked about today I can see Kate Hudson wearing. I dont know what it is but I'm like, she would wear that. Anyway thanks again for this brief pause from reality.
Your voice is so soothing.
😍 the vintage clothes, especially from the 20's. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Be well & God bless.
Well done, Doris! 👏🏼❤️
The wife replying. Doris thank you so much for showing us such an amazing clothes from different periods. You have amazing taste and Talent find him his beautiful garments
I love this collection because I love Missonni and bohemian clothing. Many thanks Doris. I grew in polyester in the 1970s. Now it has come back again in fast fashion. No need to apologise I love your channel.
Please do not apologize for your face mask. My goodness! You were in your store with one other person. You didn’t even need a mask. There will always be “that” person. I enjoy your videos so much. I eagerly watch for your notifications. I learn so much. Who knew I would be interested in vintage fashion?!🤗💕💕💕
Adore your program's,such a joy to see such beautiful things and their history's xx
Keep up the great videos! Always love to learn.
Hi Doris, Your knowledge and spirit are as valuable as your clothes. Take care with love from Australia.
This channel is amazing. Very inspirational for young designers like myself.
Doris, I'm loving your wavy hair, so pretty!
You said “amoebic”, and that piece really was. Oh my, Holly Harp! I bought something there back in the early 1970’s. Hearing those words really took me back. Everything they put in the front window I wanted to buy, but didn’t have that much money. And granny dresses, I loved them. The lounging pajamas from the 1920’s were fabulous, and right in line with the times having the colors of cream & green. Fabulous pieces, as always. Stay well, we need you out here.
Doris your an amazing teacher for us in history, and fashion. Thank you 😊😍😍😍😍
I did not see the episode, but I commend you for humbling yourself and apologizing. I don’t think you did anything wrong, and no apology was needed. You were on camera, and it would have been very hard for many of your viewers to understand you while covering your face.
You responded in such a classy way, and showed what a lady you are.
Love your videos, and I’m so happy I found them! You are lifting a lot of spirits by showing your pieces during quarantine, thank you!
Thanks for sharing these fabulous treasures. 😘
I absolutely love the 70s pieces.
We know you are many feet from your camera person, if you even have one. You have nothing to apologize for. Have a great day.
Your last episode you made it clear that you were social distancing, I thought nothing about the mask. Grrr, some people just want to kvetch!
Thank for your videos Doris. We must have grown up around the same time. I'm located in the central valley, northern California, sorry to say I never visited your shop in San Francisco. I did have a very small boutique I shopped at in my 20's. The owner was from S.F. and brought in the most current fashion she could. Found myself always unable to choose, and several pieces went on law-a-way.
When I was younger, my mother and I would spend two weeks in August every year in Los Angeles from the 1960's and 70's. Was lucky to have shopped some of the boutiques. Still had one or two pieces from that time period till recently. As I recall , many labels did not have well known names, just the fact they were a small CA boutiques. Would love to see some more pieces from then. A lot were knock offs from England mod era and Italian designers.
I was built like twiggy back then, and my mother didn't think I could carry those hi end fashions off. The designer bell bottoms at that time were to die for. Love your channel and stay safe and well.
Binge watching all the episodes. That Valentino dress....😯❤ I'm foaming at the mouth...
love ❤️ your show. Thank you Dories
1976! I was a baton twirler marching in a big bicentential parade in a beautiful red, white and blue sequin and rhinestones costume. Wow. I hadn't even thought of that in so many years. I felt amazing in that costume.
I love your show! You are wonderful and I have learned so much from you. Thank you! Stay healthy.
I am a designer, living in London, and as I am not able to physically visit your store, I am so thankful you do these little videos because I find them so inspiring! So thank you :D
Love the Video! I wish I had my clothes and my Mother's from the 40's to 70's the quality was amazing! I wish I had the clothes I had in the 70's they were in great condition as I wore a uniform for 12 years. Hugs to you! Fabulous as always!
I want to see more shoes also, as a fashion student I have never wanted to work for anyone more in my life!
Another fascinating video with very interesting dresses! I learned a lot today!
That striped long dress is so groovy!
Thank you for making those videos, it's so nice to look at all those beautiful pieces and listen about them. :) On your page I saw you have House of Worth dressing gown, I was wondering, could you maybe make an episode about oldest pieces you have? :)
No need to apologize about the face mask. I don't watch your show for a mask wearing protocol tutorial, and anyone who does has bigger problems. You do you.
Oh my gosh, I love all these pieces. But I especially love the gown and robe. That was so beautiful! Do you ever sell on-line?
I really enjoyed the last video
I did wonder about the face mask
I admire you for taking a minute to talk about it
Hope you have as much fun making this videos as I have watching them

Ciao bella❣To see you Doris Raymond is like good medicine ...and good medicine is what I want. Lots of love from Lappland.Thx for showing us gorgeous clothes and bling bling💜🦋💜
Thank you for putting these out, it's a lovely distraction.
Ms Raymond You are such a Sweet Soul. Obviously in giving a presentation to your viewers, your speech much be clear and audible, hence not wearing a mask for this short period of time is perfect and appropriate. In addition, the presence of your mask I believe was to show your viewers that you are conscientious of protecting yourself and others, when it is necessary.
At this point in time the immense changes in our world is way beyond the presence of this virus. Actually the presence of an “energetic” virus has infected every aspect of HUman life for millennia: law; politics; media; medicine; industry. This is part of our Awakening to take back our Power! As we move forward we will see, hear, feel and experience how much we have been asleep.
What a lovely video. I hope you could do a Ceil Chapman episode in the future.
The next time I go to LA, I hope to visit the shop. Your spirit and passion for fashion is tremendous.
I love your what are doing and i wait every week to see you.Kind regards from Romania !
