I saw your episode regarding Joseff of Hollywood a few years ago. Last year, I got tickets to Antique Roadshow and took 2 piece of costume jewelry. Imagine my shock to discover that I OWN a Joseff of Hollywood necklace (1940's brass). I'm like jumping up and down like a little schoolgirl and my mom couldn't understand the fuss from the appraiser and me. *lol!* And it's all because of you, Doris! Thank you for not only showing us fabulous items, but educating the public of our past artists!
Greetings from Ft Lauderdale Florida. So sorry to hear of the looting of your store. Glad to see it won’t keep you down,! Love watching your informative and inspiring videos for us Vintage addicts!
I just want to let you know how very much I enjoy your videos.....they are my most favorite on UA-cam! I appreciate your knowledge and your enthusiasm more than you will ever know and ALWAYS look forward to whats coming next from you. I can tell you know quality and appreciate the detail and talent that make these beautiful pieces. Thank you, and NEVER STOP YOUR searches ! Judy

You receive the love because you are love, Doris. Your warmth and wonderful knowledge bring so much happiness to all of us. Thank you and your team for these video gems!
I love the pieces you are wearing Doris. Its so lovely to view something beautiful in this time of fear, sickness and also, ugliness. Beauty remains. x From NZ x
You look so beautiful with your silvery hair. I had been watching your hair transformation as I am an admirer of your fascinating channel. I so appreciate that you have been able to continue giving us all a much-needed respite from the daily pandemic news. Thank you!
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos! LA Frock Stars was one of my most favorite shows. I love your videos even more because you take time to provide history and educate. Thank you.
Doris! I feel as if you were speaking specifically and straight to me. I can't wait to visit the website and I'm sure I'll be falling in love with more than just a piece or two. It's time to up my glamour game!
I was so excited when I saw Josef on your video , as I adored the episode from LA frocks . As a huge old Hollywood movies fan , seeing the craftsmanship that went into these pieces and the classic movies they appeared in eg Cleopatra and the Clarke Gables cigarette case !! Loving all the videos you have delighted us with , more please x❤️😘
Very interesting video. I'm surprised Joanne Dubbs Ball's book "Jewelry of the Stars" isn't mentioned, which gave readers access to the Joseff collection over 25 years ago, with wonderful photographs and commentary.
I am hooked on his jewelry, I love the quality and history behind each piece. Recently I purchased the Loretta Young cross pictured in the book "Jewelry of the Stars: Creations of Joseff of Hollywood" by Joanne Dubbs Ball" The cross is stunning! I've ordered the book as well. Thank you Doris for introducing me to this fabulous part of our American history.
Hi, Doris, I just discovered your show, LA Frock Stars, so I am late to the party, so to speak, but am having a great time watching the episodes. They were really well done and really captured the thrill of the hunt, even for a non-fashion gal like me. I loved learning about Joseff of Hollywood. What a fascinating history! And you are a great teacher, who clearly knows her subject and can speak with authority. I look forward to watching and learning from your videos :)
Thank you for making this video. The L.A Frock Stars episode were Shelley and Doris visited the vaults of Joseff of Hollywood actually served as inspiration for a short story about the changing business model of handcrafted jewellery.
When I used to visit museums (although now it pains me that I took those trips for granted) everything from paintings to sculptures to ordinary household items used centuries ago was fascinating. However what would always make me stop and spend time were the jewelry and fashion exhibits. Thanks for continuing to post these videos!
I adore your channel and your show. Thank you so much. I am trying to learn so I can also be a reseller as well. I love all old Hollywood things. At 17 I read a bio of Jean Harlow
Doris I hear in your voice the love and passion you have for your job it's not about money you do it for the love of fashion. You know the history about pieces, designers you do true justice to the artist that they would be proud
I learned a lot from this presentation. I think I remember his name from movie credits. But that’s all, so I’m very interested to learn about Joseph and his wife. Peeling back the layers of cultural history and revealing so many significant ppl. Prop makers etc. dress makers and designers. And much more. Thank you.
I am SO sorry to see and hear about what happened to your guy's store!! I hope nothing too big was lost and my heart goes out to you guys during this intense time.
I have just a few Josef my favorite being a Scorpio bracelet necklace and earring set. Wish I could afford the bigger pieces including that gorgeous bangle bracelet that Lucy wore. To die for!!!
Lucille ball looks so beautiful in that photo with the bracelet on. Thankyou for making the lockdown more bearable with your content I wonder what's next, I love the teens as a date in fashion all black n white stripes love from uk also love under garments xxxx
Great set up, want to know all about Chado now :) Thank you Doris and team these uploads are so much more than rich educative and inspiring, they also are a beacon of hope and endurance, thanks
It was a great episode when you & Joseffs & his “number 1 fan” went to Joseffs vault, it was great, Like meeting your Idol & are as amazing as you imagined.
I love Ralph Rucci as well he's the only American designer (along with Mainbocher) that was invited to be a part of the La Chambre Syndycale dela Haute Couture De Parisienne.
Romanikko Ralph Hi Ralph! You’re absolutely correct and I should have said that in that episode. Maybe we will do a RUCCI episode. Thanks for your interest and comment! Doris
@@thewaywewore7371 oh my gosh I wouldn't thought that in a million years that you would reply to my comment Doris! I love your channel and I'm always thrilled when you show haute couture pieces especially when you show the inner construction of a couture dress. I'm a designer from the Philippines who is very inspired by vintage fashion and your channel has really enriched my knowledge in designing. I want to show you a video of a wedding gown that I made for my best friend that was vintage inspired of course ua-cam.com/video/2F0ipyX-Q50/v-deo.html
I’m so happy to have found this channel. I used to love your show here in Australia 🇦🇺. Just one suggestion, could you slow down your graphics a bit when you have them please. They’re usually up for too short a time so I have to go back to read them properly. Also a question. You may have answered this in other videos. I haven’t watched them all yet. Without wanting to sound macabre or to insult but I’m curious to know what you have planned for you very special personal pieces when you’ve left the planet or, as we say in Australia, when you’ve dropped off your perch.
Oh I love hearing about the history and significance of all of this memorabilia, and clothing + accessories throughout history. I have just subscribed!! 🙂✨🌟⭐️
I literally just bought a Joseff of Hollywood , Sun with 3 stars on it's head from a thrift shop. They had everything so high priced, EXCEPT this piece ;) I don't think they know what they had ;) ... I paid 10 dollars for a Joseff of Hollywood Pendant that I LOVE! Silver Tone
Omg as always loved the video! I would die for the necklace with the cow's head. I've been watching the videos from the Smithsonian channel again and again for a really long time now and was amazed when finding your first vid on your own channel! i've been putting off actually doing it but just now checked out your online store and I fall in love with so many pieces, probably because of the amazing curator skills! Vintage in general is quite expensive for me but i really appreciate you having a 99$ or under category and in general being realistic and not shaming away the topic of financial difficulty. Although COVID is making it difficult right now, for me personally with becoming older the price point has become a bit more realistic to achieve. My love for timeless beauty has only grown so I gladly save some for the amazing pieces I see on your website especially because of how clear and honest you are in the description of the clothes and jewelry :D keep up the good work and lots of love from Belgium :)
Doris, thank you for providing so many great details about Joseff! I remember being stunned by the Frock Stars episode and was glad to see your video. Much love to you and your team 💖😷 stay safe!
