I'd argue Cody wasn't putting his full effort into finding Obi-Wan, since that Trooper did tell him nobody could have survived that fall and Cody seems to go with it and tell the troops to start loading onto the ships instead of continuing the search. Now if Cody had been putting full effort into the search he would have known better and known that Obi-Wan would have survived that given how long he worked with him, so it seems to me at least, he was fighting his chip and conditioning a bit and not putting his full efforts into finding Obi-Wan in the hopes he would manage to escape. I'd like to think at least a few Clones while not able to fully resist their chips could at least resist a little bit and do something, even something very minor to help their Jedi and at least by them some time.
Especially when you consider the passage from the novelization, which states that “Cody had served under Kenobi in a dozen operations since the beginning of the Outer Rim Sieges, and had a very accurate and unflattering estimation of just how hard to kill the unassuming Jedi Master was. “

The battle of Utapau is so fascinating. Fascinating enough to make me mad at Disney for not including the Utapau Kyber crystal arc to Clone Wars season 7 to show us more of Utapau. Star Wars EU is so full of fascinating lore and tons of little tidbits and massively detailed battles it’s amazing.
In their defense, they were only greenlit for 12 episodes, so that limited what they could do. And naturally, the Siege of Mandalore had to be a part of this so that leaves them with 8 episodes. Then with the planned Bad Batch spin-off, it made sense to do the Bad Batch episodes to introduce them, as well as show that Echo had survived and after everything that happened to Domino Squad I think showing Echo had survived was an important thing to do. So that left them with only 4 episodes. Of course, they didn't have to do the terrible Martz Sisters arc they could have done something better. I know they wanted to have a lead in to explain why Ahsoka was with Bo-Katan and the others for the final arc, but they could have either just had Ashoka briefly explain how they met when she was talking to Obi-Wan and Anakin or at the very least only do a one episode lead into the final arc, not dedicate an entire story arc. Those other 3 episodes could have been used to tell better stories, like the Utapau one, they would have need to condense something to fit 3 episodes instead of 4, but still, they could have done it.

What if General gerevous was captured by kenoby? Would the 2 help each other to survive order 66? Just a thought, but that would be a killer alternate timeline
Realistically, I don't believe they would help each other as it would still be the Republic vs the CIS, but they would also both be fighting against the Jedi. If Kenobi did capture Grievous and they survived being executed by the Clones, Grievous most likely wouldn't hesitate to use this betrayal to break Kenobi's spirit and finish him off himself the moment he got the chance, or he would shout something like "I would rather die than help the likes of you, Jedi scum!" The idea is interesting, but it probably wouldn't be your regular 'Good Guy and Bad Guy Team Up' kind of story.
I made this thought a while back, and I came to the same conclusion as you have. But, then I thought, how desperate would he have to be to align himself with kenobi? What if he had been fatally wounded in his duel, to the point where he can’t fight. I feel like he would see what’s coming (order 66, order 99, the rise for the empire). Knowing this, I feel like he would either try and flee, on the planet swarming with clone troopers that would most likely kill him on site, or try and align himself with kenobi to have a better chance to survive and escape the planet. So I’m not saying that your wrong in any way, not at all. It’s only a thought of mine that would be cool as hell to see and ik everyone here would like to see an alternate timeline where that happens.
I could see Grievous getting desperate enough to work with Kenobi, even if to save his own life, that seems like something he would do, even if he then tried to kill Kenobi right after that. But whether Grievous would actually learn from that experience or immediately go back to his old Jedi killing ways would be an interesting story in its own right.
I recently thought about this: how did Boba get a second helmet? Because Jangos helmet was blown up in TCW S2E20 when Boba uses it as a bomb to kill to Windu.
@@AcidifiedMammoth it removed the clones agency and turned them into simple plot devices. I absolutely love the Utapau scenes, but the one thing that always bothered me was when didn't the 3 or so Troopers not immediately start blasting General Grievous, absolutely love this scene though.
I'm not sure I like the concept of clone scouts being the reason Palpatine tells Anakin about Grievous being on Utapau. I always interpreted it as Palpatine sharing information he knew only because he was Sidious, not because he was /actually/ informed by clone scouts. It makes the whole concept of him divulging that info a lot more sinister, proving that it was carefully calculated.
Wonder how much the war would drag on if no sith influence at all I could see the battle of utapau would go very differently if order 66 never happened
There's plenty of evidence that the CIS would've actually won against the Republic, such as superior Navy and other things that I can't remember currently. As sad as it is to say, as I am a Republic lover, the CIS would've won fairly quickly without Sith influence.
you forgot a Jedi that Cody shot after the order was stated. that's where he got his scar. its along his Right hand. a symbolic part of him, holding deeper meaning towards biting the hand that fed him, poetic considering Cody was eventually eaten by a Swamp rancor.
What? Cody's only noticeable scar is the one he got on his face and he never got killed by a rancor he hasn't got any confirmed death in Canon or legends.
@@skinnyj123 I'm telling you. he dies to a rancor on Dagobah doing a inspection of a outpost that was suspected of being used by a local gang to sell spice and other contraband, the smugglers were selling a rancor to the Hutts gang(a new one for Jabba, sadly he died before getting it) , and he was thrown into its cage, it cuts off after that with a rancor's shadow over him, his weapons and grenades gone and stuck with no armor plating, it leaves the reader to believe he was Eaten. the comic leaves off after 2 more issues having a particular set of fresh bones as this former outpost turned smuggler den is then visited by Darth Vader himself. series ends with the smugglers, as its main characters are cad Bane and a robot called Stix'sy-5, a reprogrammed Commando Droid. There is no further issues of the comic, I should know, I wrote it in 2006, and it was published in 2010 to Legends, and G. Lucas liked it a lot being a poetic end to a tired old clone he couldn't find a end for..
The End of Bane it fallows a bounty hunter named Cadio Bane nicknamed "Cad" I think the story inspired the Clone Wars writers with the interpretations of the character a bit as I did share my first drafts around in 2007 with a friend who eventually joined on creating the digitally animated series there should be 500 copies of it out there somewhere it didn't sell much due to the Drama going on at the time, I don't own the rights to the work I did as it was given to the Lucas Co., Disney likely now owns it and due to the merge, I doubt you find a copy anyway, they kind of wiped all the legends era materials they did own (even the originals given to the company) I cried myself for a good hour when I read that announcement
And in the dark conclusion of the battle, the Republic forces turned on their allies and started rounding up and imprisoning all Pau’un forces that fought alongside them, along with much of the civilian leadership.
My main question is how did the at te gunner just shoot obi wan without questioning it first no way he got order 66 that quick and would’ve been confused at first
Love the Battle of Utapau hopefully we see something in the Ob-Wan Kenobi show a little flashback but here is one question how many men are an army to capture three Star Systems??
Why is this not titled, "Why more people actually don't know a lot about the battle where the greatest meme of all time happened"? Hello There, incase anyone was wondering
What would have happened if both were still fighting when order 66 happened? Would the general kill Kanobi them escape or kill more clones or would notj fighters joined forces as both would have been targets?
i always like to ask people i know who the good guys are when watching prequel trilogy, but I always phrase it like the jedi/republic used a slave army of clones who have accelerated lives and can do nothing but war. or the trade federation using an almost all droid army. so the peacekeepers who were the generals of the republic, or literal traders sick of the stagnant failing republic. the movies don't do this justice the clone wars did
Now the question is: what if order 66 never happened....then we probably would have never got the Storm Trooper's because the Storm Trooper's armor is made out of the Clone armor....also it might just be me but obviously the battle of Utapau takes place before the first early Star Wars films were released and that's fascinating to me because the first Star Wars movie takes place years and years after the fall of Aniakin Skywalker and Order 66 and tragic downfall of the Galactic Republic, now in the prequels we slowly began to see a new and somewhat darkside of Aniakin but just a hint of it, during all of this Obi-Wan has been facing challenges like struggling with a relentless Aniakin Skywalker a made and not very happy Aniakin Skywalker and General Grevious, also Obi-Wan is tasked to capture or kill General Grevious and when he finally kills Grevious Obi-Wan was shockely betrayed be Commandor Cody thus beginning Order 66, also the one question is what if Aniakin Skywalker was there with Obi-Wan....
The battles were so creative and epic in the prequels. Massive fleets and armies clashing, jedi running and flying around- much more exciting than the boring little skirmishes between plotarmored rebel main characters and overly pathetic stormtroopers of the OT and sequel era.
Consider this: Utapau was a distraction designed by Palpatine to specifically lure Kenobi away from Coruscant and thus away from Anakin Skywalker.
Most likely. Get him away from Obi-wan and Ahsoka...
And Palpatine knew it was also a possibility Kenobi didn't survive a fight with the Jedi killer Grievous, even though he was the most capable of taking him on. Palps needed both Kenobi and Grievous dead after the Battle of Utapau for his plans, so the plan was that whichever one survived their duel would be killed by the Clones.

@@DrAmethyst fighting against the Republic* Unless Obi thought the Jedi had just betrayed him specifically? Interesting question.
i really enjoyed this breakdown of a battle i thought i knew pretty well! [this is why i HAVE to read the revenge of the sith novelization!]
We can't forget the most important part of the battle: That one clone fistfighting a droid in the background.
Ask a Star Wars fan what they think of the battle of utapau and most of of them will simply say, hello there!
“General Kenobi!”
I recently thought about this: how did Boba get a second helmet? Because Jangos helmet was blown up in TCW S2E20 when Boba uses it as a bomb to kill to Windu.
*"I used to be a loyal reg like you, then I took an inhibitor chip out of my head"*
Inhibitor chips were such a dumb retcon
@@Kyle-mw3boWhy do you think it's dumb though?
@@AcidifiedMammoth it removed the clones agency and turned them into simple plot devices. Tbh, the story of the clones, bred to be the perfect soldier, turning on their Jedi comrades and friends because they were given a legal order by their commander-in-chief is just a much more interesting story than them basically being insta-brainwashed.
That's awesome, never knew these details
It would be cook if you did a video on the largest ship in galactic history or the fastest one great vid bye the way
Every time I watch revenge of the sith I always want to see more of the battle of Utapu and Kysekk
WE NEED A LONGER VIDEO OR A VIDEO ON THE BATTLE FOR KAMINO WHERE REX , CODY , COLT , BLITZ, HAVOC, ECHO , FIVES ALL WHERE THERE
These In depth vids are great
Tbh for me there wasn't anything new in this video (I guess). Just nice to see it again. If you wanna read the whole Story of ep 3, I recommend you the noval about it. Unbelievable well written and quite interesting
Can you do more detailed battles in Star Wars this video was very interesting and now I kinda want more like it
I don't get why didn't Obi Wan just Force Push Grievous off the edge and into a sink hole.
Claw feet dig into ground good
@@skinnyj123
Would anyone? Especially after the fucker killed your girl?
One of Grievous’ most important features is the fact that the Force can’t touch him lol
That is a thing you can say to every battle in star wars
Nice video love ❤️ it man!!!!!!!!
As always, this is amazing.
This video is a gem
I think a video on grievous's walker bike would be pretty awesome if you haven't done one already!
By far the most important character of the battle was that one clone with the mean right hook
I absolutely love the Utapau scenes, but the one thing that always bothered me was when didn't the 3 or so Troopers not immediately start blasting General Grievous, absolutely love this scene though.
What about those proto dark troopers that got there 1st and disabled the comms and did other sneaky stuff?
Playing this map on the OG bf2 was fun as shit
A surprised to be sure, but a welcome one
Once again excellent oration
I bet they hit hard.
Without sith influence there would be no clone army
@@KingDerpy13 Agreed
@@cman12698 maybe so maybe not we will never know
@@KingDerpy13 true they would have destroyed the republic and crippled it since the droid army was more massive than the republic clone army
it was a big missed oppertunity cody wasn't sent to tattoeen and was rescued by kenobi. what a story that would be XD
Thanks
I always wondered what would have happened if Cody had met Kenobi or even Rex year's later say in Rebels or during the original trilogy time period.
In the Revenge of The Sith video game, there’s a Juggernaut Tank in The Battle of Utapau.
I´ve had this question in my head since the first time I saw the movie.
Did Boga survived? :(
No
3:28 Me taking a selfie
you forgot a Jedi that Cody shot after the order was stated. that's where he got his scar. its along his Right hand. a symbolic part of him, holding deeper meaning towards biting the hand that fed him, poetic considering Cody was eventually eaten by a Swamp rancor.
@@alucardhuskasai5667 what was the comic called? If it's a fan fiction it doesn't count as legends or Canon.
The End of Bane
it fallows a bounty hunter named Cadio
Bane nicknamed "Cad"
I think the story inspired the Clone Wars writers with the interpretations of the character a bit as I did share my first drafts around in 2007 with a friend who eventually joined on creating the digitally animated series
there should be 500 copies of it out there somewhere it didn't sell much due to the Drama going on at the time, I don't own the rights to the work I did as it was given to the Lucas Co., Disney likely now owns it and due to the merge, I doubt you find a copy anyway, they kind of wiped all the legends era materials they did own (even the originals given to the company)
I cried myself for a good hour when I read that announcement
And in the dark conclusion of the battle, the Republic forces turned on their allies and started rounding up and imprisoning all Pau’un forces that fought alongside them, along with much of the civilian leadership.
I thought the 41st were also on Utapau. After Order 66 you can see a few of them in the background wearing their grey armor.
If only we get to see the Crystal arc from the Clone Wars which was also set on Utapau
You would be an excellent teacher.
Kenobi was impressed with Greivous ship!!
My main question is how did the at te gunner just shoot obi wan without questioning it first no way he got order 66 that quick and would’ve been confused at first
Are you not gonna mention the clones detaining the citizens ?
3:20 so that 501st log from the old BF2 game was kind of right
George Lucas has one of the wildest imaginations of any director I know of
Alot of the battles of Star Wars are based off of Real World events
Love the Battle of Utapau hopefully we see something in the Ob-Wan Kenobi show a little flashback but here is one question how many men are an army to capture three Star Systems??
1 000 000?
From which book is this information from? I really wanna read it
Do the battle of coruscant next
I wish we had gotten it on Battlefront 2
Why is this not titled, "Why more people actually don't know a lot about the battle where the greatest meme of all time happened"?
Hello There, incase anyone was wondering
What would have happened if both were still fighting when order 66 happened? Would the general kill Kanobi them escape or kill more clones or would notj fighters joined forces as both would have been targets?
Huh, what did Cody do after stabbing Obi-Wan in the back. I never thought about that🤔
I always thought that most of the 7th Sky Corps was deployed to Utapua
To be fair, it was wrapped up PRETTY quickly lol
Greivous dies at the beginning making the rest of the fight basically a mop up operation
Saying it was kenobi star ship was like saying the GAR was a jedi army
Those who have read the ROTS novelization know all about boga 💪
i always like to ask people i know who the good guys are when watching prequel trilogy, but I always phrase it like the jedi/republic used a slave army of clones who have accelerated lives and can do nothing but war. or the trade federation using an almost all droid army. so the peacekeepers who were the generals of the republic, or literal traders sick of the stagnant failing republic. the movies don't do this justice the clone wars did
Now the question is: what if order 66 never happened....then we probably would have never got the Storm Trooper's because the Storm Trooper's armor is made out of the Clone armor....also it might just be me but obviously the battle of Utapau takes place before the first early Star Wars films were released and that's fascinating to me because the first Star Wars movie takes place years and years after the fall of Aniakin Skywalker and Order 66 and tragic downfall of the Galactic Republic, now in the prequels we slowly began to see a new and somewhat darkside of Aniakin but just a hint of it, during all of this Obi-Wan has been facing challenges like struggling with a relentless Aniakin Skywalker a made and not very happy Aniakin Skywalker and General Grevious, also Obi-Wan is tasked to capture or kill General Grevious and when he finally kills Grevious Obi-Wan was shockely betrayed be Commandor Cody thus beginning Order 66, also the one question is what if Aniakin Skywalker was there with Obi-Wan....
Utapau is cool and all, but the Senate needs to be taught more.
It was very briefly shown in the movie anyway
Yea but what was the deal with the utapau shadow troopers, figured you’d mention them.
Sounds like the tx-130s would have been handy
What’s the next The Front Episode coming out?
really with utapau was in battlefront 2
Hello there
General Kenobi
What i don’t get is HOW the soulless one was completely unguarded or seized by the republic
This is Canon for me!
Fun Fact: I'm atleast 20% sure that the force itself helped obi wan kill grievous
But the most important thing. Did Boga survived te fall?
The battles were so creative and epic in the prequels. Massive fleets and armies clashing, jedi running and flying around- much more exciting than the boring little skirmishes between plotarmored rebel main characters and overly pathetic stormtroopers of the OT and sequel era.
I got episode at 00.00 night
