Hi Thank you. Due to your video I was able to change the same passenger headlight on my 2014 Kia Optima SXL. Your method works perfectly. The trick to getting the exact same clip off took me a few minutes to figure out. Pushing directly down on the back of the clip to compress it worked but I was trying to get the clip off by turning a screwdriver clockwise on the bottom of the clip wedged against the side of the light. That didn't work until I put the screwdriver in the middle of the clip down by where it hooks on and then turned screwdriver clockwise to flick it off of the holding edge. Another way to think about it is the position that doesn't work is trying to rotate the screwdriver clockwise by the upper end of the holding ledge (the part the clip clips on to which is closer to the hood) When I put the screwdriver in the middle of the side part of the clip and turned it clockwise I was flicking the clip off of the lower edge (closer to ground) Another way to think about it (idk who this note is for, maybe me lol) the holding ledge that the clip clips onto has a lower side (closer to the ground) and an upper side (closer to the hood of the car) After you push down on one side of the holding clip to compress it (with one screwdriver) your mind wants to stick another screwdriver down the side and flick the bottom of the holding clip off from the upper edge of the holding ledge. That didn't work for me as the clip would not come off of the ledge. So on the side of the hold down clip (the think you need to get off) there is a long rectangular open area that goes from the top of the hold down clip down to where it hooks on to the hold down ledge). While still pushing down with one screwdriver I put another flathead screwdriver in that open rectangular channel and when it was reading down on the bottom of the channel I twisted the screwdriver clockwise (to the right) and the clip just popped off like magic. We tested it just the way you did before reassembly. The clip is very easy to push back on. Thank you so much. This took me 10-20 minutes out in the driveway start to finish. BTW Kia wanted $367 for one new bulb. 30 minutes labor for each bulb. Total for both bulbs and labor=$889 plus tax. Kia price for one bulb and labor was $445 plus tax. So thank you again for doing this video. I should have recorded my disassembly and reassembly. I paid $32 for two cheap bulbs on amazon...maybe they won't last long. Again this was on the passenger side. Maybe driver side worse as battery would have to be removed and maybe other stuff. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this video! My local Kia dealer wanted $325 for the bulb and 1.5 hours labor to install it. I bought the bulb for $112 at Advance Auto (should have gotten off Amazon!) and my son did it for me on about 15 minutes after watching your video. Thank you so much!!
Dude!! Thank you for posting this video. I just started my car on my way home from work and sure enough the right headlight just flickered out. I had no idea how to replace it Searched google for headlight bulbs, and this video popped up. This was exactly the best search result I could’ve found! Thank you 🙏🏼
Best video thanks it took me 10 minutes to replace both low beam d1s bulbs in my 2014 cadenza No need to remove the bumper as you stated. Thanks for the video
I replaced my headlights multiple times with cheap versions from Amazon only lasting a few months before I just bucked up and bought the OEM Sylvanias. I got really good at replacing them but if you only want to do it once, buy the OEM bulbs.
Thank you! That was very helpful! But can you show the other headlight, because that area is harder to get into? I was totally worried I was going to have to take the whole thing apart or pay someone a crazy $$ amount to change it! Thanks!!

Glad it was able to help!
Great video for the passenger side .The real challenge is the driver's side though. You have a video on that?
Thanks!
I haven’t had to do that side yet. Been over a year that original bulb from 2014 still kicking!
Best video thanks it took me 10 minutes to replace both low beam d1s bulbs in my 2014 cadenza No need to remove the bumper as you stated. Thanks for the video
Aweosme! Driver side was just as easy?
Thanks for this , my dealership quoted $400 for just the bulb replacement . Now I can do it for 40$ , I hate kia dealerships .
This is exactly why I posted it!
Glad it helped you out!!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! I did managed to do it after a few minutes of tweaking
Glad the video helped!

Good to know!
As far as I know, these are still working fine. But something to think about for sure
Thank you!

I’m not sure on the other side. Only took care of the one at the moment! You’ll have to subscribe to see when I do the other!
I keep seeing videos of the passenger side but not the driver side low beam replacement. I wonder why?
I’m not sure! Driver side still hasn’t gone out. If it does. I’ll be sure to make another video!
The driver side is the one you need to take bumper off! And I’m doing led replacements!
Oh man! I’ll be sure to not replace that side! Haha
I just changed mine it was just as easy as the passenger side. No need to remove the bumper.
@joemckibben1 good deal!
@@joemckibben1same as the other side? I need to replace both! I just got a quote of $250/each bulb at tires plus 😳
I’m not sure. But good luck!
I feel like the round cover was a pain to screw back on.
Yeah it can be, gotta get those threads perfect
