Guys..I have a Lexus gs450h 2007...this is a common problem with hid lights...the ballast on the headlights is located in the bottom part of the headlights and is exposed seriously to the water when the tires splashes the water while driving,.water gets inside the ballast because they are not sealed and I find out they come like this from the factory. So water gets inside the ballast component causing them to burn out the ballast and sometimes the hid lightbulb...I fix the problem..If you check the fuses and they are ok..i guarantee you 💯 percent it's the ballast. If you install new light bulbs and still don't work... can't go wrong. Change the ballast and make sure you seal the housing with some type of silicone to prevent the water from going inside .... hopefully this help you guys ..i save myself 1800 Dollars because the dealer want it to install new headlights in my car . All I spent was 90 dollars and got both ballasts plus the hid bulbs..good luck to all of you.
did you also replace the ignitor wire?
I tried to replace the ignitor wire from the ballast. I had to tear down the complete headlight assembly only to find out that the ingnitor wire was pinched in half from the factory. It was a nightmare to figure out.
having to remove the front bumper and remove the headlight assembly on most modern cars in order to replace a light bulb is ridiculous
You dont need to do that on most modern cars but it's got HID bulbs you might need to do that to get to the ballast which can also fail and need to be replaced.

So long story short, in this case the igniter component was bad, not the ballast. Interesting. However, still hard to diagnose unless you happen to have the spare known good parts on hand.
It will send you in circles. I have replaced both. Trying to find a video of testing a new ballast installed only a few months ago. It also came with a new igniter wire as the factory one was pinched in the headlight assembly from the factory. What a friggin nightmare. It's a 4 prong coming out of the ballast with a white wire off to the side. Was getting power from two yet put my test lite on positive and was not getting a ground out of the other two. I have high beam yet no low beam. Replace the ignitor and ballast a while back. Fuses for the low beams are working.

Normally Mazda 3 uses halogen light bulbs amzn.to/3P2kTHt I am not sure if yours have HID, then it will use HID bulbs

@@joehowto Joe when I turn on my lights both headlamps light up but then one turns off after a brief moment. My guess is that it's the ballast. But today was the first time I knew that headlamps use a ballast, so it's really only a guess.
Would you say this is a good guess or would you have some other ideas?
@@shwimmy11Don't buy anything yet. First replace the bad light bulb first with the good one. If the same problem still there, replace the ballast with the working one. If the problem solved. Then you can buy a replacement.

sir i have some issue on my lexus is250. low beam head light on left side, right side is no problem,but only the left low beam is not working.high beam is good and park/day light.. no problem with the fuse and bulb.. and my headlight also have condensation.. what do you think the problem? i check also the ignitor, on left side is looks better that the right head light. right head light ignitor is look's burn but work's perfect,but the left side ignitor is looks good but not working.. i don't know what should i replace please give me some advise.. thank you
Check the fuse of the left low beam. If it is not blown, then it may either the ballast or ignitor of the left side has problem.
So I have a similar with one headlight working with my 2007 acura tl I changed the bulbs and the fuse are good so that module will fix my issue also ?

I’m having an issue…mine turns on for about a minute and it turns off. Like if it goes into safe mode or something.

yeah me too, but now it won't even stay on, it goes off like about 30 seconds after
@@hencleedax did you ever touch the bulb? That could be the problem or make sure the wireing aint interferencing. Mine started to work after i messed with it again

Try to swap the working ballast with different cable to see if it is the ballast
You said the original ignitor was bad and can burn out the new ballast.
If this is true, why didn't the bad original ignitor burn out the good original ballast???

How to diagnose without buying in advance parts which you might not use it? Any ways to check original igniter or balast? which one is faulty?
Swap the one such as the ballast that works to the non working one. Eg. The right headlight working one swap to the non working left and check if it work.

Is your light bulb the same wattage as the driver side .?. To me it seems like the wattage is different then the other one..now if you got the same type of lightbulb check the ground wire coming from the ballast to the chassis metal in the car ...that may be the cause of the problem....if that doesn't fix the problem the ballast may be weak not sending enough juice to the light bulb...try switching the lightbulb left to right and right to left and see the result.if the light bulb still dimm most likely the bulb is different wattage....but if it gets brighter check for ground connection or change the ballast...good luck..
If the bulb is dim then it could be a telltale sign that it needs changing as it’s maybe reaching the end of its life span.

I changed both ballasts bulbs and igniters over 3 times they all last less then a week now my driver side won’t work and from time to time it will turn on again any advise?

What could be the problem if hid or new light bulbs don't seem to be bright enough? stock light bulb is yellowest color and I change to new 8000k light bulb but at night the light don't seem to be bright enough. Could it be the ignitor or the ballast?
8000k is not going to be bright. The higher the k, the less brightness. 5000k is the brightest

My driver hid flickers and then shuts off when I turn it on. I tried changing the bulbs, swap ballast, and even trying different headlights. Still does the same. I tried plugging in the driver headlight to the passenger connector and it works!?
The fuses are good, I am thinking it could possibly be the turn signal switch cause I also notice the turn signal sometimes does not go on. Or it could be a kink in the wire? What do you guys think?

It was something quite simple which I had overlooked... it was simply a painted ground bolt. Smh....
@@j.santiaguel4337 can you explain this? How did you come to that conclusion? It's just I have an hid headlight that goes off every so often but it's not the bulb and it's not the ballast so I'm thinking ground but I'm not too sure how to confirm this

My hids are flickering when there are bumps on the road and at high speeds on the freeway. I put in new bulbs but still the same

Why not just replace both even if ballast is good faulty igniter will cause ballast too go out or faulty ballast cause igniter too go out vice versa isn't that right?
