Hello dear viewers! It's so nice to see this video get a sudden resurgence of views, considering it's a few years old, and was made back in the days when I knew very little about filmmaking! I wanted to let you all know that Aladino and I have actually started a brand NEW river journey through France, this time in an effort to get North. It will be turned into quite a well documented series, which you can follow along here if you wish! New episodes will be added to this playlist as they're published. ua-cam.com/play/PLixt_4jBlVZwTZe0DTLaLS4CphvNwz1mp.html
With the current situation of isolation's taking place, immersing ourselves in the picturesque countryside as well as the soothing tone of your lovely narration gives such peaceful vibes, thank you x
I found the series North thru the contenannt first. And then found the beginning of your story. I saw in the last video that you had your cell phone tucked into the top of your tank top. I’ve heard this is not a healthy place to store it. Young women have be found to have breast cancer from this habit of storage. The new smart phone are very powerful. Be well. Love your music listening on Spotify. Thank for sharing it. Wishing you and Aladino and long and happy sailing lifestyle.
What a pleasure to see such a humble, no make-up, articulate, talented, and capable woman! You are in a very rare class. I am hooked on this channel. Thank you.
And an accomplished violinist, no less! You two are like a classic young European couple from a more genteel era, like the brief respite between the two World Wars...
Autumn Leaves! Perfect Jazz song! You wonderful sailors! Just started watching tonight. I lived in St. Augustine, Florida on my 1971 Irwin sailboat until the recent hurricanes. Back on Lake Erie by Put in Bay and Marblehead area. Just bought a 22ft Catalina. Have to be on the water.
I wasn’t aware France had such an extensive canal system. That looks like it’d be an amazing journey to take. Your audio levels are nicely done as well, and you obviously know your music as the selections always seem to fit the setting.
It was a truly amazing journey, I feel so lucky we got to do this! And thanks so much for your kind comments regarding the audio. Choosing the music is one of my favourite parts of every episode :)
France has over 5000kms of navigable rivers and canals. One of the largest civil work is being built. A canal connecting Holland and Belgium to Paris. It will remove 1million trucks/year from the roads.
Maya and Aladino, I am binge watching this weekend to catch up. Enjoying all of it. This episode brought me happy tears listening to you play your violin. It immediately brought me to a moment in my Grandparents home, listening to my Grandfather play. Beautiful. Thank You, Bill :-)
Hi Bill -- I'm SO GLAD that you're watching all of our videos! That's amazing!! Thank you so much! I'm also really happy that the music means something to you, and can bring you back to a special time in your life. Music is amazing in how it can do that. Thanks so much for commenting and letting us know you're watching.
It's beautiful. The effect is almost like looking back through time at a simpler time. I often get the same feeling when watching my great uncle's super 8 videos we have of nearly every family reunion and vacation when he was alive. I love your music selection also. As a trumpet player, I've really enjoyed the score.
The staircase of locks that you mention is called a flight of locks. I know someone has already told you this, but the notion of a flight of locks is so evocative, I couldn't resist.
What a beautiful and well-kept Vindö. Lovely. I just saw the story behind it (Ep 1 and 2). That was a good job. I hope she will bring you many happy moments.
What incredible footage! I'm loving following along on your journey, and how wonderful it is that you will have these memories recorded to look back on for years and years to come. That shot of you playing your violin with the heron was so beautiful and peaceful. Sending you love (as if you need any extra)!
Exactly what Ava said - beautiful footage and your violin playing was so perfect for that scene! I'm hooked!! And subscribed, and loving your journey which I only stumbled cross last night, more episodes coming up! Thank you for sharing your amazing journey :-)
After joining around Sicily, I have started watching your and Aladino's adventures from the start. It was especially nice in this episode to hear your beautiful rendition of Autumn Leaves as I have just uploaded my humble version to my channel.
The wonderful part of the video when you play the instrument while the magic carpet sliding softly in the canals Wawwwwwwww amazing it's kind of a dream. Très beau. Bravooooo
What lovely canals. I did a trip in the north east French canals , mainly built by Napoleon and standardized , but we found the canals were built outside a lot of the towns making some of the stops in almost no where! But the locks were almost all semi-automatic. I sailed the Dutch canal many times and they are so old the towns are built around the canal so you stop in the middle of towns , wonderful. I love canals, Your sound is so good you must really know what you a doing! Cheers Warren
Hello there incredible beautiful n interesting very nice scenery good camera work thanks Thank you for sharing your video cheers take care see you soon
Oh wow, I have just discovered your channel. I felt I had to leave a comment to say how lovely I found your performance of Autumn Leaves. It was exquisite and provided the perfect ambience for the video.
I can see that you have a Vindö sailing boat. I have for more Then 20 years being a happy owner of a Vindö 50 ketch sailing around in the Baltic sea and in the Swedish archipelagos. She is now sold to a Dane, but it was a Happy Ship, and I have lots of great memories from the time spent with her.
I enjoy many sailing channels. But yours is exquisite... interesting, creative and calmly entertaining... kudos to you both for the great content and for sharing your adventure with us. All the best... Dave.
I have discovered your channel through a friend who recommended your North through the Continent series. It was interesting watching you go through these locks since I have for several months been binge watching several UK narrowboat channels. Their canals are from 2-4 feet deep, the speed limit is 4mph and almost no one goes that fast. They almost always have to operate the locks themselves and it appears that 1/2 hour per lock is considered quite fast. I think I’m really going to enjoy watching your videos. Thank you.
Just started watching your videos, and I am thoroughly enjoying them! Slowly working my way through from the beginning. Lovely boat, and a lovely crew, too!
Thank you for this episode, which I watched after seeing your How-to episode on starting a UA-cam channel. We are a sailing family and have a UA-cam channel, but we have very few subscribers; I am inconsistent with making videos and I stay away from flashing semi-naked bodies in our episodes. I loved the story your canal-sailing tells, and the music behind it. It flows, just like the rivers you featured. Best of luck and congratulations on your meaningful and tasteful filming!
I just love the opening music beautiful. You have great taste in the music, I love to listen to Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli playing together. I also think your the photography is awesome.
Hi.I found your first video and watched them till this one.The french waterways are a livelong journey worth by itself.I like your way of telling storys very much and the music is fantastic.👍
Enjoyed this one very much..music so soothing Have been watching all your videos after stumbling across North thru the Continent & just loved it Well done👍🤗
I appreciate your including music with your videos. I too would like to experiment with it... but of course, I'm a beginner. it makes the production very pleasant and refreshing.
Stumbled across your channel and decided to start from the very beginning to watch them all in order. Looking forward to following your adventures! Hope to catch up to today soon. Congrats.
In this video, the narrator asks if there is anything we would like to see more of in future episodes. To this I reply, more of 5:29 please...to sooth my savage heart!
Beautiful vid. Thank you so much for the wonderful soundtrack! It put me in a sentimental mood, that’s for sure. Stephane must be smiling down when you play. This is only my fourth vid and I have subbed.

@@gaylarice6124 it's fine, I use the phone as a microphone when I'm talking to the camera and it's in airplane mode.

OMG, your playing while cruising through the French canals. Dreams are made of this.

So natural cruising so romantic music.I liked your video.
Yeah, and one of the main reasons why I prefer monohulls over multihulls.....canal cruising. Lovely videos, lovely boat....bon chance!
The wonderful part of the video when you play the instrument while the magic carpet sliding softly in the canals Wawwwwwwww amazing it's kind of a dream. Très beau. Bravooooo

Great violin skills!! Like having Stephan Grapelli on board
Not only a beautiful couple, but excellent music from a fellow musician.
Just started watching your videos, and I am thoroughly enjoying them! Slowly working my way through from the beginning. Lovely boat, and a lovely crew, too!
I love the sailboats slip thru the water with barely disturbing the water! A lot better weather than in the British canals.

You killed me with the violin. So graceful.
