Which one will I recommend? You’ll hate the answer, but I think it depends on what you want in a sprayer. The HomeRight, Wagner FLEXiO 3000, and the Fuji all did great! If you are looking for budget friendly, the Homeright super finish max and the Wagner FLEXiO 3000 are great. The homeright is harder to clean, but it’s cheaper and comes with different tips and air caps so you have more variety of choices of how you spray. The FLEXiO 3000 is easier to clean, but it’s more expensive (around $50 more) and you don’t have as many options. But it does come with the i spray nozzle that’s apparently good for walls and fences. The Fuji is my personal fav, but it’s much more expensive. It’s also made of metal parts and honestly will last longer. And you have way more options with it. Options that I don’t even understand. Haha The wagner double duty isn’t horrible. It’s totally possible to get an amazing finish with it. But you need to thin out the paint perfectly. It’s a lot harder to do. I hope that helps! If you want more info on each specific sprayer, click the link in this video description to go to that specific sprayer’s video.
What I understand from this test is that getting the viscosity right is the most important thing. Even the Fuji can behave badly if the paint is too thick, and they all give reasonably good results with a thinned down paint. In that sense, it's very clever from Wagner to include a viscosity meter in their kit. It takes the guess work out of the equation.
Way back in the late 80s, I worked 2 years as a spray painter in a factory. We had high quality electro-static guns. Each paint colour had it's own thickness that was optimal. We had a special measuring cup with a hole on the bottom and we'd time how many seconds it took for it to empty. We'd add paint thinners to dilute it.
I think the Wagner Flexio 3000 did the best, especially for the price point. I had a paint sprayer years ago (I think it was Wagner) and I could never get it to spray well - always had an orange peel finish which I didn't like. I ended up selling it. The Fuji was pretty much the same I thought, but much more expensive.
Informative video and I'm glad you mentioned 40 second viscosity on final paint solution. Here's an experiment I'd like you to try, ie standardize the gun settings by setting all paints to a viscosity of 30-40 seconds, but keeping all gun settings constant. Therefore, you rarely need to change the gun settings, just the viscosity.
Any experience or opinion on the Graco TrueCoat 360 sprayers? Great video by the way! I’m looking to buy my first sprayer for small woodworking and furniture projects.
I’m sorry, I did leave you hanging huh? I left a detailed comment in this thread and pinned it to the top so you can see what I recommend. I wish it was a cut and dry answer. Haha
Pretty sure it's universally agreed that the homemax super finish max is the best budget sprayer. Does a great job works well with thicker paints lots off tips and spray options. Yes it's a pain to clean so get an extra container.
What did we learn , chalk paint is hideous. Seriously Thank You for doing this comprehensive test. LIKED & SUBSCRIBED. A ray of sunlight, it was 114 today in Scottsdale.
I've been using a Home Rite Finish Max for several years now. It's been my first and only sprayer and I've been happy. I'm also happy with the results you demonstrated, but am still curious which one you recommend.
Wait, you have the super finish max or the regular homeright? I left a long comment in this thread and pinned it, so you can see which one I recommend. ❤️

@@ARayofSunlight Yay! I had actually purchased a Graco Ultra after weeks of researching sprayers but returned it after watching Christina Muscari review it. The learning curve would have been too frustrating for me plus it seemed to waste a lot of paint.
Hello, I have bought Flexio 3000 recently and I am really frustrated, I cant get it work without splattering all the time. I am working on small pieces and it really is not acceptable. I work with water based paints. So, do you think I need to thin the paint more - they always say 10% is enough but this seems to be not true. Your result with thinnest paint looked good here. Which power setting it was on?
I’m sorry you’re frustrated. What paint are you using? The more thick paints need thinned out more to be able to be sprayed well. I can’t remember the exact power setting but I showed it in this video.
Some recomend up to 25% thinning for water based paints. Viscosity checking tools are cheap and help you not to guess. Find a vicosity that your gun appreciates and that allows a paint/cure to your liking and enjoy.
I use the 1.3mm tip that it comes with. I would order extra tubes and things as replacements to have on hand when they get clogged or worn out. But yeah you can use it as is.
I have pinned a comment in the comment section with more info. Number 123 would confuse me because I would remember which was was which I’m the future, sorry! Hope the pinned comment helps!
Have question is there any reason why you would do a video useing probably the thickest paint out there( chalk paint) seem to me use a polyurethane or other, but I just subscribe to your channel so maybe there's a video I haven't seen, thanks for the info on the guns
Nice presentation however the type of paint has different results ...latex...semi gloss...acrylic...how much water u use to thin the paint out...how hot or cold is the environment. One sprayer can do magic one time and the next behave like a brat...
for the price of these things- why not get an air compressor and a good paint gun-- plus teh compressor you can do so much more with it-- like fill tires, air tools etc maybe 400 bucks - but you get so much more abilty
I’m not sure what you mean by photos... It was all video showing how each sprayer sprayed combined with close up videos of the finish that was left behind. 🤔 I go into depth about how to use each sprayer and my review of how it did in their own separate videos that are linked in the description.
I just wanted time watching this video. Obviously, the paint looked like paste putting it into the paint tubs. Should have been thinned from the start.

Been spraying paint for 20+ years and recently purchased the home right super finish max, for the price point hard to beat when set up properly.

Sooo... Which did you like best? You never said!
Which you recommend
Did u try floetrol before buying a new paint sprayer or even adding a little bit of water ?
If you’re using something like Annie Sloan chalk paint she specifically states you have to thin it. She has great videos on how to do it.
I'm very curious only because I really want to buy a spray although I've used the q4 it was great but I don't want ro spend all that money

I’m hoping you say the Wagner Flexio 3000 because I just purchased it. My 590 had just died. What are your thoughts?
I think you made a great purchase!

Can you please tell me if I order the Fuji Q4 do I need any extra tips or can I use what it comes with for furniture painting?
I use the 1.3mm tip that it comes with.
I would order extra tubes and things as replacements to have on hand when they get clogged or worn out. But yeah you can use it as is.
All boils down to budget to me.
you tested the thinned paint in reverse so the Wagner dried and the q4 had less time to dry
What was your goal screwing around with each sprayer and heavy paint without thinking? Why not thin the paint in each sprayers immediately and
So people who have no experience with paint sprays can see why thinning matters and how it effects the paint. Obviously you're past that point.
Great thanks. You finally let me understand how important to thin the paint
Glad I could help!
Graco makes one called tc pro and it works better than all of those cheap plastic guns. And that Chinese Fuji
I’m still confused as to which one you recommend. I’m not quite understanding your choices. Can you number them 1,2,3?

The Control spar is not for latex paints.
You need to change the orifice on the fugi it’s to small
