I can’t believe I found this video! I have that exact same chest, my parents gave it to me for Christmas when I was 14, I still have it at 60! Those ginko pulls have me in a trance and they are perfect with the ones you already had. You hit the jackpot. I had to gasp when you opened it up and the cedar was unveiled. I can almost smell it all the way in Puerto Rico! I can see the uses for a piece like this and mom had one she had her trusseau? in which included all linens, wedding dress and clothing in prep for a marriage or wedding to be used afterward. Mom's and Dad's people in Spain had enormous rolls of linen which they would make into all sorts of napkins, tablecloths, bedclothes, underwear etc as soon as one of their people was to get married and it was usually a year later they would have finished all that was needed with all the embelishments and needlework that were the style of the times and meant to tide them over for a lifetime. I still have many of her tablecloths and napkins that are so beautiful still. No paper napkins existed! I'm wondering though what the small shelf on top is for? And what this chest's story was and will be?

As far as giving ourselves grace, absolutely. I am working on my first piece and man has it been exhausting 😩. It is large piece with a lot of detail, I wouldn’t call it a beginner friendly piece but I almost prefer it that way because working on this dresser has taught me a lot as far as mistakes made and what errors to avoid next time around. Today was my first day using my paint sprayer and boy oh boy was that a bit rough. By the time I decided to use it I was already exhausted from working all day so that definitely didn’t help. But I know it’s just a learning curb. I will be so happy once I get rid of this damn dresser 😅 it’s been a love hate relationship beginning with a difficult piece, but like I said I would definitely do it again because it’s a really good way to learn.
