Wagner sprayers are okay. I just bought a Truecoat 360 and that thing is a beast! You don't have to thin the paint at all. You just pour the paint in, prime for 3secs, and start spraying. It would've took 2mins to spray both chair.
Warner made very good sprayers, I had one for 10 years, but someone come by and chose to take it with them without asking, a painter said once you go spray you never go back unless you really want to. also it is recommended that you use a hearing protection when using a handheld sprayer like the the Flexio 3000.
I have been hesitant about getting a paint gun. However, your video just convinced me to get one. A very enticing demonstration. You have a very smooth way of explaining things. Keep up the excellent work. I love the look on the chairs with the sprayer.
yeah, it only uses 2x the paint as a brush does and forces you to use plastics to mask off your other surfaces. let nature deal with the excess pollutants, thats what nature is for and we can just keep being the fancy humans that we are
Mr Dave I actually use less paint when I spray. It applies thinner, more consistent coats than brushing. I also only use plastic to take off drawers and I try to use that plastic for more than one project. I’ve made a living saving furniture from the side of the road and the dumps and use mostly eco friendly products in my refinishing process. Of course it’s not perfect but it’s definitely not worth being nasty over.
@@salvagedbykscott There is an established hierarchy for waste management known as the 4 R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover. Everything should be done in that order. I just bought my Wagner Flexio 3000, I have been watching several different videos to get tips and techniques before I bite off a big project and paint a bedroom. Your video was the best so far, excellent detail and kept my short attention span!! Thanks :-)
I have this and I love it, but you should include set up time. If I hand paint, there’s not much time prepping, just throw a drop cloth down. But when using the sprayer, the set up time is longer, taping up plastic, blowing plastic from the sprayer so you have to take time to reposition and retake the plastic. I’d say w prep included, it takes just as long. I’m back to using my paintbrush
I had this sprayer and it did decent on spraying some doors but it's not perfect. The turbine puts out some heat and it tends to dry latex paint on the spray nozzle. It would throw globs on to my doors if I didn't use a rag to clean the nozzle periodically. This sprayer absolutely needed water added to the latex to thin the product as it would be a much better finish. If you have multiple things to spray and especially multiple coats to do then this sprayer made the job a pain. You need to clean all the internals after spraying and considering I had to spray my doors with 2 coats that means I had to spray my doors 4 different times. Flipping the doors around for the other 2 coats. That means 4 cleanings and it's no fun cleaning this sprayer. Also my brother used it to spray a black ceiling in his basement and the black paint over saturated the filter for the turbine and sucked it into the internals thus ruining the sprayer. This is partially a user error but also a bit of a design flaw. Also I noticed the trigger gets sticky and tends to hang up. I bought Wagner lube/cleaner and it didn't seem to make much difference. I sprayed in my garage and basement making sure to mask off large portions in plastic. This turbine pushes alot of air meaning the overspray gets EVERYWHERE. I suggest cleaning your space thoroughly before spraying to prevent dirt from being sprayed around onto your project. I say this not to bash the sprayer because in the end it did a good job but it didn't really save me much for time with all the cleanings and prep work.
We greatly appreciate the feedback and we'll pass your thoughts on to our product team! Regarding the clean-up, here's a great video that shows how to quickly clean your sprayer. Please note that you don't need to clean the sprayer between coats, just during extended periods like overnight: ua-cam.com/video/RvFcTSJ8zgQ/v-deo.html&feature=emb_title
Wow those turned out great. What is your honest opinion as far as the finish that the sprayer gave you? Is it smooth like a factory finish or do you see any texture/orange peel? I am working on a project around my home...replacing all of the door casings and baseboards. I've been using a small mohair roller and have gotten decent results on the interior doors and the wide baseboard that I am prepainting but things are not going so well on the new door casing and I feel the only work around is investing in a sprayer. I have tried a sprayer once before and had a horrible experience. I spit paint all over and I had a hot mess on my hands. Thank you.
I foolishly bought an ornate table, six chairs and a huge two piece china hutch. I plan to put tall legs on the top of the hutch and sell them as two separate pieces. I have already purchased Melange paint and would really like to buy a sprayer. Do you still recommend the Wagnor 3000 and light distressing of white furniture or have I missed that trend? I am definitely going creamy white; it is the distressing I’m not sure about. Maybe a darker wax to emphasize carving details? Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and wonderful videos.
Look at the drop cloth under the chairs after spraying. Plus she says that it does more coverage from one sprayed on coat than she gets with two brushed on coats. It probably uses about 30-50% more paint, but she saves a lot of time and gets a smoother, more professional finish. Keep in mind these are chairs. Spraying a table or door would not waste anywhere near as much paint since there is a lot more surface area for the paint to stick to.
Hi! Did you find you had any dripping or runs w/ the sprayer? I have been hesitant to try one because I feel it will be like using spray paint and the paint drips/unevenness will not be worth the trouble. But the time saving aspect looks unreal so would love to hear your thoughts!!
As an ex spray painter -vehicles- yes there is definitely a technic to spraying. The biggest trick is to keep the gun moving. Also find the balance between too dry spray and too wet which produces runs on vertical surfaces. If you have the patience to get the hang of it you’ll be ok. You’ll probably mess up some and waste some paint to a degree before you get onto it.
@@larryc1964 Thank you! I finally bought and started using a sprayer a couple weeks ago. There is a definite learning curve to getting the technique right, but through trouble shooting I am slowly getting the hang of it 👍👍
I ended up redoing all of my kitchen cabinets with a cheap 50 dollar sprayer. Only downside was I had to really thin out my paint to keep the paint sprayer going. I wonder if the wagner is a little more forgiving with thicker paints. Also I looooooooooooove that spray tent. Looking to potentially purchase as that just makes things simple (and then I dont have to keep spraying outside on "warmer" days.
I just got my tent. Can't wait to test it out in a new video. This sprayer is designed to work with thicker product without having to thin it out. I thinned mine out for appearance, but the sprayer worked great with unthinned paint. And chalk paint is thick!

Thank you.
Great video. I think I may buy one of those sprayers. Thanks
I'm glad it was helpful! Its a great product.
Great video, I loved watching and learning from you. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Will do!
Gotta have one of those sprayers and the tent too.
I got my tent! I can't wait to try it.
I love this woman! Exelent!.
Definitely need this.
So awesome ordered one
Hope you enjoy it!
Holy,...I'm in love..!!!😍
I used to spray a chair in under a minute back in the day
Nice!
What was the amount difference when using a spray gun vs brush? Do you use less or more paint or is it the same amount?
Thanks for a great instruction on a paint sprayer ;)
I literally went and ran down to home depot and picked this up for my refurbishment business I'm trying to start up.
Get a respirator mask if using a spray gun. there are tiny micro particles in the air when using the gun. Protect your lungs.
I have one. I'll wear it next time. Thanks.
Christina Muscari don’t forget eye protection also 🤗
Second that! Anytime using a sprayer, there is a tremendous amount of finish that just goes into the air.
@@btrswt35 True - but I think for HVLP sprayers it's far less than true airless sprayers. But still... treat your lungs right and they will treat you right. :)
don't forget to wear your hazmat suit and get all your shot.
Great job 👍
Did you have adequate ventilation?
It would be nice if this tool have a cordless version.
Thank you!
It would've been nice to see the actual finish in a side by side close up since it is a comparison review but thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and your thoughts. I did try to do this but it's pretty tricky to get white to focus that close up. Maybe I can try some on Instagram.
@@ChristinaMuscari thanks anyway
Looks super convenient!!!!
Would you use this sprayer on a larger piece of furniture like a headboard and would you use the larger spray head instead of the detail one?
Thank you! 😊
That’s awesome , I’m looking forward to get one.... by the way, can it be cleaned with thinner mineral to make sure the nozzles are clear ! Thanks
Thank you 😃😃😃
Good tips.
first of all sorry for my english.i have 2 questions . first with sprayer you use more paint than the brush?
and 2 do you use this sprayer alot ?,after time of uses do you had problems with clogged nozle?
i ask because i read bad reviews about the nozle.
Eye protection and a mask are a must when using sprayers.
The sprayer is fun....but do remember to protect your future.
