okay to save time, she tried to get more sleep, changed her diet by studying her ancestral diet, which led her to cut out most gluten, and that made a major impact. she did detoxes which removed toxins from air pollution, . she slowly weaned off thyroid meds over 14 years, and she studied her estrogen and progesterone levels , then slowly weaned off those hormone replacement drugs as the sleep and diet improvements made a positive impact. also she had a witchdoctor or some clairvoyant come into her house to burn smudge sticks of Southwestern US Native Indian sage and herbs around her home to rid the house of negative energy from the previous home owner. she didnt see that one coming,. she didnt in believe any of it but it opened her mind to think positively and to work on a positive healthy mindset. went to some functional medicine conferences and gradually over a decade , everything worked out and healed her.

    - Journal
    - Love yourself
    - Forgive yourself and forgive all others

I am so grateful for this combination that has helped me see health issues in the the eyes of western medicine and how it correlates to disease patterns in traditional Chinese medicine. I love the power of herbal medicine. We treat the whole person, not a named disease. This should be required listening for every doctor. It’s so frustrating when doctors lable people with mental illness or being a “difficult patient.” The exact same thing happened (is happening) to me. Everyone including my own wife thinks it’s all in my head.
The arrogance/ignorance of so many doctors is just tragic.

We are difficult patients, or lots of us are. The problem is that the doctors are the reason we become difficult patients. When doctors contradict each other and say things that are completely incoherant or irrelevant we can do nothing other than say "hang on doctor that doesn't make sense". They are incapable of accepting the validity of our remarks and they don't like us questioning their opinion. For many of us our lives are falling appart around us and doctors refusing facts because they don't understand them is very frustrating. Our frustration is legitimate and doctors should take this into consideration and not presume that the frustration is just because we are weak minded hense all are problems are psychological.
When you've seen enough docrors who are all too happy to accept that it's all in your head your friends and familly find it very difficult to not believe them. After all they are doctors and they are supposed to know what is going on.
It most certainly is tragic, and i hope you find the answers that you are in so much need of.

@@camendt75 It is an epidemic. The quality of the air on the planet has reached the point where many peoples lymphatic systems can't cope well enough. It's a more crap coming in than going out situation, it all builds up at different speeds for each inividuel. Women are more affected than men because the gas exchange in the lungs is different, they have smaller lungs.
Eating a more healthy diet reduces the crap intake and helps the body cope better with what we are breathig. It's not rocket science.

I wanted to briefly share how I got my Hashimoto's thyroiditis in remission. 3 years ago I got a infection in pancreas which cause me to be nauseous so I didn't eat for 9 days (basically fasting, however definitely not planned) but tried to keep up my fluid intake. It just happened that when I recovered I needed to have my labs drawn and my doctor was so surprised because my labs reflected 90% remission of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Asked all kinds of questions and once found out I hadn't eaten for 9 days, only had fluids asked if would wait 6 months and do another long fast (5-9 days) and see if we would get it in complete remission. That is exactly what happened after the second fast and now 3 years later, I am still in remission from Hashimoto's thyroiditis. :)

Sometimes the T3 T4 was out of balance and sometimes spot on. Antibodies were for Hashimoto was always high until I did the 9 day fast and by the 2nd time (6 month later) no more. I had my immune system chinking away at my thyroid for 35 years, so it will take some time to have it recover/regenerate and we are working on that. After the fast, to break the fast (especially since this was a longer fast) I would break it with bone broth and after an hour or so, depending on how I felt, I would have half of an avocado and wait and see how my gut was doing and slowly introduce different food again. Also before the bone broth I would take ion biome on empty stomach to restore gut balance. Dr. Mindy Pelz is a wealth of information on fasting, especially for women (find her on youtube)

I'm 63 and avoid doctors, nearly all of whom have failed to help me, and in one case badly scared me with a false diagnosis. What I have learned from self-experimentation is that "less is more," meaning less food, less often. I'm not interested in weight loss, merely feeling optimal, and fasting gives the body time to heal, followed by a healthy diet of real foods. Aside from posting this, I don't discuss my health regimen, as it provokes a lot of unwanted advice and even worry. Do your own research, so much easier these days, thanks to videos such as this one and many more. Best wishes to all for a healthy 2020 and beyond.

I only took the bare minimum and ate well, got lots of rest and have remained as stress free as possible and I'm still alive 30 yrs later and I'm not a big toxic, bloated mess. Conventional medicine is almost worthless for autoimmune illness in my opinion.

There is a Very REAL connection between our physical/biological self and our emotional/spiritual self.
When you are able to understand and to heal the inner-emotional self; your physical self can be fine tuned and repaired. This I believe whole-heartedly from my own experience in healing. The hardest part is getting to the root of the 'trauma' when a person may not know or recognize it may exist in one's self. Sometimes this is hard to accomplish if you are being artificially medicated. The body is equipped with the ability to heal. Finding the right way is key.

As she saw me getting better and better she started learning natural medicine. She was wonderful, supportive and life changing in my healing. I’ve got a great doctor ❤️. The doctor prior to her, when I was noticing little symptoms here and there but didn’t know it was autoimmune, she told me “you’re young, you’re thin, you’re fine. It’s all in your mind”. Mine are like that or I teach them Lol! Some of them are listening carefully now about other ways to do. One of them saved his legs by just receiving a lymphatic drainage! After 17 days hospitalized and receiving the strongest antibiotics ever, he did not improved. I recommend the drainage because it was clear that his system was clogged and was just transporting garbage up and down all day long without having the capacity to clear itself and the body from harming crap. And of course, could not transport the antibiotic to the needed places. He did and a little later he was running like a kid and he is big man! How could he forgot what lymphatic system is about? Well they know what it is but do not know how to holistically work with it. Same with the rest of the body- mind - spirit.

I explained to him that if I had Clinical Depression why do I still have goals? People with depression lose hope. That was not me. I just wanted my body to help me achieve, and my body was tired and in pain, so that was frustrating me. I explained that my body is making me get frustrated, and that leads to depression. He wouldn't listen to me. A couple of times he even dozed off in front of me...like sorry for boring you sir. He waived me off and just handed me the slip for the next appointment.

Later finding out I had chronic Lyme, Endometriosis, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, Celiac Disease, PCOS....and so on after seeing a string of specialists. It was finally a homeopathic doctor that was able to educate me of the cascade effect of the food I was eating and stressful lifestyle I was living (Lean Cuisine was a "healty meal" and running 8-10 miles per day on the treadmill followed by an hour of heavy weight lifting FOR YEARS). I thought I was "so on top of things" and boy was I wrong. After years of coming to terms with my food sensitivities and hormone imbalances, I'm finally starting to recover. After gaining 85 pounds due to exercise intolerance and overall fatigue (and depression) I'm about 75% back to a healthy body. Food is medicine, and so is rest, self care, setting boundaries, finding peace and silence within. Thank you for spreading this message and for helping bring awareness to this very real, very debilitating issue that affects so many.

In my personal experience, emotional baggage tends to get stored in the body and eventually manifests as physical symptoms. Being in touch with your emotions, healing trauma through writing, praying, meditation, forgiveness of self and others is paramount. Finally, l agree with the anti inflammatory/detox/clean diet are important in healing and prevention. But l would also add fasting as an important ingredient in staying healthy. She clearly expressed what every single person who's suffered from any type of chronic pain and gone through the usual channels in our "healthcare" system feels when no answers are found and every specialist sees you with a narrowed lens and no answers mean it's in your head type of thing

I went through the same experience as Dr. Li. after the birth of my child , i got thyroid disease and it couldnt be diagnosed for many months in traditional medicine. It wasnt until my neck had protruded and swollen , and i started getting these heat attacks, that i was taken seriously. As is the trend here in Kenya, after delivery, one is put on birth control because it is claimed that when a woman is breast feeding, that is when she is most fertile. That worked against me and literally messed up my whole hormonal system. I am lucky to have finally diagnosed Graves Disease, but a close friend of mine died after she gave birth to her baby, because her hyperthyroidism could not be detected. I then founded the Thyroid Disease Awareness Kenya Foundation just to help people learn exactly what is being discussed here. We hope to demistify this myth and empower people to take charge of their own health, by arming them with the right information. So happy right now to hear these two traditional doctors accept the fact that traditional medicine and what they are taught is not always the truth. The body is a very complex combination of systems that so delicately depend on one another, and when one system is off, then the rest of the systems cannot work properly. The endocrine system is the most under emphasized system in the medical world, and yet the most important systems in the body. Like people here will tell you of the digestive system, the reproductive system, but the endocrine system is so foreign. We are working to demistify that.

Therapy did and is continuing to help, but there's so much more to the story. I was basically abandoned after they decided everything was "in my head." As a chiropractor who does Functional Medicine for decades I found the self journey about thinking ,"I know it all" as a ____ doctor that this applies to all doctors, DCs, MDs, NDs, etc. We think the one thing we learned or found is the only or main way to heal people and we lose our open mindedness to other disciplines of healing, traditional and modern. Be open minded as a doctor and never stop being open to other ideas if healing. Thanks.

I myself developed benign fasciculation syndrome last April and still deal with some of the symptoms this day. I was super stressed, very anxious, and had a terrible bout of insomnia during my first year and have jacked up the balance in my body. I know that I will reverse this in time and it won’t be because of a medication. It will be proper nutrition, proper sleep, proper mental health, and proper exercise. For broken bones, they're great, and I valued the fact of them being there. But they aren't the road to health. Naturopaths, herbalists, osteopaths, acupuncurists, nutrition, minerals, vitamins, sea and tissue salts, meditation, colon cleanses, electrical cleaning, trusting your instinct, which doesn't lie, and avoiding pharmaceuticals where possible is the journey I took. This has lead to better understanding my systems, trusting the intelligence of the body, having confidence in the human design and it's ability to heal itself. Incentivised medicine for profit is killing it. What has it got to do with real CARE.

It discouraged me from the field, I almost wanted to change careers, especially during this pandemic. I’ve watched both my mom and my aunt’s health deteriorate drastically, they’re both ICU nurses, they both had to force retire and did not fully enjoy their retirement. I made a promise to learn from their mistakes and to put my health first. Thus video gives me hope. The body is so smart! And everything works together, not in isolation.

I wonder if I will ever encounter a physician who says this to me? They know I am an academic, clinical, and research psychologist with 20 plus years experience, they wouldn't dare! I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism due to low TSH levels. The diagnosis is always confirmed in lab work, not just symptoms in traditional medicine. This is for insurance coding and billing purposes. We have the same paradigm in clinical psychological practice. Am on thyroid meds. I think this started with a meal in a Houston Chinese restaurant in the late 1980s. Dont remember what I ate. I was 40, dizzy, so dizzy I was throwing up. After a month, I had a MRI to check for brain tumor. I have have had balance issues ever since 30 yrs. FInally after four mos wearing scopalomine patches my vertigo eased up. I had had chicken pox in my childhood. Later in my 60s, Shingles appeared, treating with aycyclovir. I had dental issues took two courses of antibiotics killed all my gold gut bacteria, got systemic candida. Treating that with Fluconazol. Some functional medicine pratitioners have studied thousands of medical studies and found that three common factors were in most thyroid patients a viral infection, followed later, sometimes years later by vertigo, tiredness etc.,. Then high stress becomes a trigger. Finally gluten and sometimes dairy sensitivity. That fits my path. I am certain I have had chronic low level hypothyroidism. The causes were multiple. THe management is multiple.....I have inflammation of nerves with numb feet, cold hands and feet, muscle tiredness and weakness, it is believed the cerebellum in the lower back of the brain is inflammed infectiong balance etc. I have periodic brain fog...my intellect when not exhausted and inflammed, is not affected, not my long term memory. My short term memory IS affected when I am inflammed but not, when I am not inflamed. I am not depressed , I was mystified and curious, not, happy about symptoms but otherwise happy in my life. I know everything has a cause. I was eating a very healthy high plant medium protein diet, low sugar, low gluten diet. Now I know that isnt enough for ME at THIS stage I must have NO sugar, substitutes, or gluten. SO this is a journey for me now my body needs more protein, red meats as I was anemic . More spinach, folic acid supplementation. Zero gluten. Zero sugar.

They help immensely to heal and regenerate the entire body and all it's organs if taken on a daily basis in sufficient, therapeutic amounts. Colostrum is especially important for anyone with a weakened or compromised immune system. Do your best to avoid all forms of corn and corn starch, soy, wheat, vegetable oil (corn, safflower, canola, soybean, sunflower, etc.), red meat/dairy (except for grass fed) and of course refined sugar and junk/fast food. @@ralsharp6013 Yes, it's best to avoid the consumption of this oil or any food with sunflower oil due to the fact it is too high in polyunsaturated omega-6 fat and is highly refined and oxidized which greatly contributes to chronic inflammation plus the formation of damaging free radicals in the body. You are much better off eating a small amount of sunflower seed. Avocado, extra virgin olive & coconut oil are much safer and healthier. Grass-fed ghee/butter is also a healthy choice. As for colostrum, it can be taken either directly into the mouth with some water or mixed in food or beverage. It can also be used externally as a paste applied to the skin to heal a rash or minor cuts or wounds more quickly without scarring.

To get sleep, since that gives necessary energy etc. Did you get what else? And WHAT is the inflammation diet? Vegs?
Some say animal protein is good for inflammation, my nutrition therapist said it gives inflammation, at least in larger quantities. Idk what to eat, esp since OI can't digest protein, not carbs and not sugar, and have been stuck in sugar addiction and compulsive over-and undereating for years. With teeth eroding and breaking quickly and terribly, I can't even chew properly which worsens digestion, absorption etc, and I have too much stress and anxiety to chew for long, too. @@Medietos Animal protein from (almost all) mammals does give inflammation, just research Neu5Gc.
      There is one thing which reduces inflammation more than anything else;
Omega-3 oil. Flax seed is the only seed which has much more Omega-3 than Omega-6.
Our stomach acid can't break down the hull, so it needs to be ground first.
If using only the oil; flax seed oil oxidizes easily (is called going rancid), so needs to be kept cool and as hermetically sealed as possible.
You also need some coconut oil with it, to enable to body to convert it to the usable form.
Get a nutrients & minerals test done, and take care of any deficiencies, primarily through diet, secondly through supplements.
Both magnesium and calcium are a lot easier to just take as supplement.
You should aim to transisition to a mostly alkaline, ketogenic diet.

@@Medietos Have you ever had a stool sample analyzed with regard to the bacterial composition?
From your symptoms/condition, I'd say your intestinal flora could be out of balance / "corrupted".
This can happen with strong antibiotics, as they can kill off part of your intestinal flora, and it doesn't always recover by itself. Thing is, some bacteria keep others in check, in that they prevent them from multiplying too much and 'taking over', but if they're (almost) gone, then you'll have some overgrowth.
If your stool sample shows a high percentage of fungus (which it never should), then that's a big part of what's wrong.
If you have a temporary improvement from eating something with crushed garlic (which is very anti-fungal), then that's because the fungus dies off temporarily, but grows back once you eat something with carbohydrates, as it consumes primarily sugars, and keeps doing so, causing your blood sugar to crash. This is what causes abnormal sugar cravings.
Now, it's not healthy to keep eating lots of garlic for weeks on end, and it will remove some calcium, so taking a calcium supplement is necessary if trying this.
Colloid silver is another powerful anti-fungal remedy, but should be used sparingly, especially at first.
Edit: forgot to mention, the acids and byproducts produced by fungi will lower your body pH-level and be detrimental to your teeth, which was another clue to me.

Who are you, a professional or amateur, interested, healing yourself maybe? Would you possibly be in the position of caring to help me, coaching? The situation is more complex than you outlined, although it is interesting. What schools do you know and believe in? I can't go on being thrown here and there by many others' theories and views, that in itself has made me worse from stress, splitting. What I need is someone to actually consult, who doesn't hijack me and not need to know best, know it all and control me, decide for me, , but who is big enough to stand back , be of service and help me find my healing. I have been close for decades, but stress to death by lack of wisdom in many in helping positions . We human beings tend to project unto oyhers what we are absorbed in ourselves and finding out about, "seeing2 it everywhere. That can get incorrect, like the email chiropractor who from my stressed-emotional email decided that I had Mould sickness. I applied to him for helping me through a Nutritional Balancing Science program. Not denying that it may be possible, but he seemed on the fanatic, rigid side about it, which tired and frustrated me and made the contact stop sadly. I want(ed) help with that healing program, his hypothesis could have been a later option. I can't be any more pressured by someone else's wish to control in very limited knowledge of me..
If you want to help me, I can tell and reply to everything you need to know. But have to know that you know enough first, I have been much maltreated and up to today been severely harmed. So please think of my safety and protection. I hope you answer.
State what extent of engagement you are able and wílling to, so that I keep my material within proper bounds. It would be a good change to receive support or help...
Btw, I know one doesn't ave to know it all to be of help, the human etheric and heart interaction does it work in the invisible and psychological-spiritual. Still, some has to be in place.
Symptoms are one thing but the CAUSE may differ and demand different measures, right? Are you well or working at your healing? Emotionally?

I’d be thrilled to find an internist that thinks and practices like this ...
This is an excellent conversation that should be incorporated into medical training along with good bedside manners.

Unfortunately the pharmaceutical industry controls the medical profession, including protocols to treat the diagnosis

Dietary changes, finding food sensitivities, time.... healing of the gut, more changes and time have HUGE in feeling better. Inflammation causing the symptoms Amazing we are all different ... but a healthy gut is the start of a healthy body. Eating healthy whole foods... nothing prepacked. I always say if I can't read or understand the ingredients listed on the box my body can't either.

I get this 100%. I had "chronic fatigue." Went to UofWashington, Virginia Mason, Centur Wellness Clinic. It wasn't until I went to Dr. Jacob Titelbaum in Maryland (I'm from Montana) and he educated me in so many supplements and told me when I return home find a good naturopath (I found the best) because no regular doctor will have a clue what you're going through. He finally allowed me to have Armour thyroid which cleared me out of a fog. He made sure I was up on D3/K2. He got my iron up to speed. It's been a lifelong journey. But I know when to go to an allopath (and very rarely go) vs. a naturopath. This was very interesting.

This video is one of the best things I've come across on the internet in the last months. You're both the kind of physician I would have loved to become. Thank you so much for sharing your paths and open generous vision of medicine.

So encouraging listening to two open minded Doctors talking about this stuff. My Mother in Law has been practicing Naturopathy for almost 60years and she began that journey by treating herself as a Celiac patient when all Dr's wanted to do was operate on her intestinal tract and start removing bits. She also tested many patients suffering the effects of high levels of mercury poisoning and was an advocate for the removal of mercury teeth fillings back in the 1970's & 80's which was ridiculed at the time by most professionals. I suffered debilitating 3 day migraines every 2weeks for decades as I couldn't afford the expensive migraine meds prescribed but it was only when I changed my diet (mostly going sugar free) that I am now Migraine free and have been for over 10 years.

Every Dr should listen to this. When we have problems like this the medical community dismisses us.

You are your own and possibly others doctor. By Belief of your DNA ability, if you can absolutely Believe the God given ability. Like they call it Plascibo, but it is you who makes the cure happen by thought and talking to your brain and DNA.as the man Jesus said,. “Ask and you will receive “. The only proviso is you, Must Believe. Or it will not come true. The miracle is it happens, via you. Because God , being everywhere, he is in you and all have have DNA . Not a Christian thing, it is all humans .

If doctors don’t follow the AMA , they lose their license to practice.
